This was the coolest, most amazing attraction that you must do while visiting the waterfront! I took my teenage daughters to do Wings Over Washington and they absolutely loved it! We had it on our to do list back in March 2021 however, due to Covid they were still closed. We were so excited to learn they were open by Oct. 2021! So many parts of the ride felt so real! From flying over the city, to getting a mist spray, the balloon ride, and the eagle eye views! We will definitely be doing this attraction again in March when we return to Seattle! W.O.W Is definitely a fun experience for all ages. I've taken a few people to experience W.O.W and they all liked it or loved it. It is a little pricey for what it's worth, but I think it's definitely worth it! It's about a ten minutes ride into the experience and another five for introductions. It's a 5d experience ride that gives you a sensation of flying over Washington and experiencing Washington and its glimpse of history. A true fun sensation that you don't normally experience. If you have ever rode the ride at Disneyland called soaring over the world, than this is very similar. The tickets are a little pricy and you usually have to wait about 30 minutes prior before entering. It's a pretty unique experience. They first put you in a small room that had cool fasts about Washington. Then, you walk up the stairs and gives you some insight about the ride and rules to follow. The door to enter the ride is right next to the first door you walk into. This was my second time on the ride and I knew where to sit this time. You want to be one of the first ones to enter so don't sit in the front of the room that just gives you the rules. Then you will get stuck sitting in the front row of the ride. I was able to sit in the back row because it goes the highest! It's such a unique experience to see Washington in a birds eye view. I would recommend doing this if you've never been to this state before. I always like it and it's cool to say you have experienced it. read more

Fun fun fun! I had already ridden the Great Wheel a few years back and wanted to try this ride. It was amazing! It's like "Soarin'" at Disney if you've ever been on that. If not, I'll explain! First you walk in and they give you the safety tips in a funny way (won't tell you so it's not ruined for you!). You buckle into your seat and if you're in the back row, get lifted up a bit and a film gets shown in front of you. It's an AMAZING simulation of flying over Washington State and its beautiful locations. I so honestly felt that I was flying that I looked away for a second to make sure I was still in my chair. Also, I was trying to make sure my shoes stayed on. This was just a simulation! But what a great one and what a great time was had by all. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves. This incredible journey recently received the Orville and Wilbur Wright award (posthumously) for most realistic flight since the sand dunes of Kitty Hawk- ok, I tend to occasionally exaggerate but this flight is terrific. Take a break from the constant drizzle in downtown Seattle along the waterfront and duck into WoW for a truly amazing journey over the state's most renown landscapes and features. The flight actually feels like you're strapped on to the upper wing of a bi-plane that is making a harried journey across Washington state. You'll see the magnificent Mountains of Rainer and St. Helens, of course the Space Needle is there, Husky stadium, and you'll cross paths with other winged creatures that are non-petro powered. A word to the wise, lots of motion here, it's exhilarating and if you have a weak stomach at all, you might save the delicious clam chowder from Ivars on the corner for after the event. Lots of fun and just next door to the Big Wheel. Downtown Seattle is a great place to spend an afternoon! read more

This was a lot of fun for the whole family. Very similar to the ride at California Adventure. It is a little pricey but not something you can do every day either. When you first arrive they offer to take a picture of you which you can purchase after the ride for $12 or 2 for $20. You can choose between 4 different backgrounds for your picture. Online it says that the whole experience is 15 min but that must include the wait in the lobby and watching the safety video because the actual ride is less than 10 minutes. It is a great experience for someone out of town to get a great look at all Washington has to offer. The actual rise doesn't include smells and mist blown at you when you fly over water features. Perhaps I'm a bit spoiled by being a Disneyland Annual Passholder for the past seven years but this knockoff doesn't quite live up the hype and definitely doesn't live up to the price tag. When you add in taxes and fees, it comes to about $20 for one single ride. I know Disneyland is expensive but if I did the math and figured out how much each ride costs me, it's much less than $20 each. For those who have been to California Adventure, Wings Over Washington is very similar to Soarin'. The main difference is that it's on a much smaller scale. While Soarin' seats close to 100 people, I'd guess WOW seats closer to 30. Likewise, since there's less seats, the screen is smaller too. Unfortunately, the smaller screen does diminish some of the wow factor. I do give them props for their awesome attention to detail in the pre-show room and the flight room though. My biggest complaint is that, as far as I could tell, there's nothing to tell you what scenes you're flying over. Being a Washington native, I recognized some of them but was curious about others. As a UW grad, I really liked flying over Husky Stadium and the campus. My boyfriend was visiting with me and we didn't have time to visit the university so it was nice to give him a sneak peek of both that and the other tourist spots that we didn't get a chance to see in person. All in all, it's a cool experience but a $20 price tag is a bit high for such a short ride. read more

I've always loved "Soarin' Over California" at Disney California Adventure. This is basically along the same vein, but smaller and not quite as magical. I think it's still a cool thing to experience at least once if you live here and don't mind spending $17/adult. In my opinion, it is a bit too pricey for what it is, and unfortunately there's no bundle option with the Ferris wheel. If you're visiting, I'd only recommend doing this if you have time to spare. They continuously run the ride, so depending on when you arrive you might have to wait in the "lobby" before being allowed in to the next part. Your group has a picture taken in front of a green screen available for purchase later. If they at least included one free print per person, it would help make the cost of admission more worth it, but I digress. The next part is a room where you are seated on benches to watch a video. Then you are taken into the room with the ride itself and buckle in. I didn't time it myself, but I think other reviewer said the ride portion itself is about 5 minutes which seems accurate. read more

The ride was 5 minutes. I checked the time before & after on my phone. The shuffling around and watching the silly pre show of ranger rick telling bad jokes and how to put on a seat belt took 10 minutes. The staff is ambiguous in describing this and setting expectations when purchasing at the ticket booth, so for that reason I am disappointed. The video was good however the CGI was mediocre. Such a cool experience! Six of us went to Wings over Washington the day after Christmas. Ages ranged from 9 to 50 and everyone loved this event. It's actually pretty incredible how realistic it is. You definitely feel like you're flying. I am slightly afraid of heights and at one point I got super nervous "flying" over the space needle. This experience had it all, visuals, wind, mist in your face as you flew over puget sound and the scent of flowers when we went over Skagit Valley. My only complaint was that it seems to be run by bored teens. There was no enthusiasm. Between that and waiting to wait. Wait in the line for tickets, wait in the line to go in, wait in the room to go into the theater. Also we wanted to buy the souvenir photo but the card machines weren't working. Because of these issues, I normally wouldn't even give something four stars but the actual event was so cool, it deserved a good rating. read more

Ride is okay, but not worth the wait. the staff are super rude. we waited in line for 20 minutes and then they finally let people on, except us. there eeee only like 15 people in front of us so I asked, "is it already full?" "No. but we aren't letting anymore on." "Why? Covid?" "No, we just decided not to. you'll have to wait 30 more minutes." So, we waited 20 minutes and another group came and asked them how long the wait was at that point and she still said "At least 30 more minutes.". So I asked, "Isn't that what you said 20 minutes ago?" "Yeah, but it's 30 more now, we need a break." So I waited 20 minutes and came back again, and manager comes out and says it will be 30 more minutes." What a joke!? read more

Actually going on this ride with someone from Washington made it way more fun. It is a scenic journey "soaring" over several parts of the state. We were there last weekend and had a 5 minute wait before watching the safety instructions and then boarding the ride. Hey not bad Seattle Waterfront..not bad at all.. I had seen this place on Evening Magazine and on a couple commercials but I stayed pretty skeptical. Having been to Soaring California at Disney a few times I was curious how this would be, especially since it's about our lovely state so I finally checked it out. It was mid week so there was barely any line at the door. You will have to buy tickets at the booth by the Great Wheel and then go to the line for the attraction. Once inside you sit through a short video about the ride and some local Native American history. After the video you move to room that has the actual ride. Store your bags under your seat and then strap in for the ride. The staff is great help and they make sure everyone is good before starting. The actual ride is pretty damn amazing. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. Very awesome way to see our state and it's attractions. I feel this is a perfect thing to see for out of town visitors and even for locals. read more

And if you've been around Washington State you'll find flying over places kinda neat, like Husky Stadium, the coasts, and Lime Kiln Park. Visited Seattle for 3 days with a group of 3 and we started with this. Most of us had been to Seattle before, but for the one newbie she was gobsmacked. It's just like the Soaring Over California ride at California Adventure in Anaheim, but I did like the personal intro. It would be great if they included more Central and Eastern Washington, but that's probably because I grew up in Central and Eastern Washington. I would recommend this for all ages unless you are afraid of heights. You really do not go up high, but you will feel like you are, so if that freaks you out, don't do it. This was a pretty good show. It is a spin-off (no doubt) from Soaring Over California at Disney's California Adventure. In this example you soar all over the State of Washington. It is a ride - so you are strapped into a seat and the seat is moved around choreographed to flying over, under and around various things like bridges and hot air balloons. You actually feel like you are. They even spray a little mist for the ocean breeze and some flower fragrance when you're flying above a farm of fresh blooming flowers. They offer to take your picture and you can purchase it after the ride. We never buy those pictures anyway, so we always opt-out of the photo. No reason to bother if I know I don't want it. I think it was a pretty good show, I enjoyed it. I just think it was a little pricey at $17 a person. read more

I had no idea that this had recently come to the area and am surprised I have not seen any advertising for it. My friend described it as being similar to Soarin at California Adventure and I think this is pretty accurate. It's located at the foot of the big wheel and comes with a high price tag as well. Its 17$ plus tax for something that lasts less than 20 minutes but it really is worth doing once. I didn't see any packages that included this and the big wheel, children are slightly cheaper. About half of the experience is spent in the prep room, but I admit this part is nicely done and entertaining as well. I enjoy how they incorporated nature and Native American culture. I really like that it is an actual ride that requires you to wear a seatbelt (although these are hard to get on). It is a multi sensory experience and may cause some people to feel a little motion sick. It's quite fun to try to identify all the places you are flying over while on the ride. My only complaint is that some of the scenes seemed to cut off and not flow well into the next ones. I almost wish there was an answer key when you got off. It would also be nice if they offered a ride it again special at a cheaper price, as it'd be nice to refocus on anything you may have missed in the first go around. The bathrooms near here leave a lot to be desired and parking in this area has become atrocious since the street was remodeled. I would definitely bring out of town guests here, I think this is the most exciting thing happening on the waterfront. I would choose this over the boring big wheel if I could only do one thing. Sadly the price will keep me from going back frequently. read more

Had such a fun time on this ride to bad you can't take video, it is tricky at first when you walk in, we were the first 4 to get in and we were directed upstairs. There is a small safety presentation before going on the chairs that suspend you on the air. Too bad can't take videos or pictures. Another than that it's a fun experience. FUN ATTRACTION!! The attraction itself if fun. It makes you feel like you are really there! The oils and mist really are a good effect. Some of my critiques are some of the staff seemed very annoyed and hating life. The line is pretty long then when you get in you are in a small little room with a lot to see but very little to no air flow so it is hot, stuffy and stagnant, the perfect recipe for already impatient people to be even more frustrated. The young man in the room could have been animated and had a speech or have some entertainment aspect but sat like a grumpy frog on a log leaning on the stair case. We love this ride and being mother's day we came down here with our baby to ride. However since she isn't tall enough we were going to split into 2 groups. The one staff member told us we could wait inside for our first group to go so we could ride in the next group. However when the next staff member came in she kicked us out and told us to go all the way around the building with the baby to find our group. Stumbled upon this during a trip to the Great Wheel with a friend last year and am glad I did. We both actually enjoyed this much more than the wheel. The line was shorter than the line for the wheel and it moved faster. The first part before you get on the ride is a bit hokey and is more geared towards kids, but the ride itself is great! It's a 4D ride over Washington where you actually feel like you're flying and can even smell the forest and tulip fields and feel mist from the ocean. I took my parents there when they visited recently and they both enjoyed it (even my dad who gets motion sick on rollercoasters!). I'd recommend getting the combo ticket for the wheel and this ride if you visit downtown. read more
