These soaring experiences are always pretty neat. This one feels really short. And really overpriced. The worst was the crowd. Fellow riders were incredibly obnoxious and constantly screaming. It's not a roller coaster ride, it's a scenic exploration. Even the teens I took on this commented on the annoyance of the other riders. And it definitely wasn't something worth spending $99 on for four people. Is it kinda neat to see all the scenery? Absolutely. Is this something I would skip and never do again? We went on Wings Over Washington, which is a similar experience to soaring over California at Disney California Avdenture or Back to the Future at Universal. You get some info and a lil bideo before you take your seats in the simulator. The experience is really cool, you feel like you are flying, you can smell the flowers and feel the mist from the waterfall. I would definitely reccomend doing this, kids would love it. They do have to be 42" to ride. read more

What a great experience- really well done and fun. You buy your tickets on the pier, then there's a line area. The show starts like every 15 minutes so the line moves quickly. Then you go into a lobby and up a flight of stairs for a cute pre-show that's entertaining and educational. Every detail is beautifully done, including animated totem characters. Next you head into the theater. It's beautiful and quiet- the seats lift up (you're in a very secure seatbelt) and the movie is incredible. It is not scary (I don't do scary rides even) but it is fun, exciting, and absolutely beautifully produced. read more

100% overpriced despite it being an experience thoroughly enjoyed by my trio of 5-7 year olds. It's a beautiful space and an entertaining ride over Washington. While the wind and mist was clearly present, I did not smell any of the aromatherapy that was advertised. I was super upset when the attendants separated me from my kiddos. They put the 3 kiddos together and asked me to sit down the aisle which was as far away as possible. When I asked to be seated together, they made it seem like I was a problem. For that and the absurd price, I would not do this again nor recommend it to friends. What a bummer. read more

Checked out the Waterfront on a cold and rainy day (are there any sunny days here.. ha!). There were very few people around. And most of the shops and restaurants were closed or closing early...again because there weren't many customers around. For fun, we went through the Wings Over Washington exhibit. This is a short animated show about the state followed by a motion-visual simulator ride where you fly around the state. It was fun and kids will definitely enjoy the "flight!" I'd like to visit this area again some day...but only if it's warm and sunny! read more

Wings Over Washington - Totem Pole - Amusement Parks Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Wings over Washington is a "4-D Experience", with the 4th dimension being that they mist water on you. (Spoiler, but is it though?) Anyway, for $18 + tax, about $20 per person, you get about 7 minutes total of experience. Buy tickets online to avoid the line at the booth. You stand in-line to get into waiting area. In the summer, with cruise passengers, it could be nuts. In December, no problem. We stepped in and joined the group already waiting. They have a very small waiting area inside, so it's best to expect to wait outside. Once in the waiting area, they have a wall display. We were stuck behind a group, so we never saw that. It doesn't seem to be a big deal. After going up several flights of stairs, the first room we entered is for safety, introduction with a video recording of a "park ranger", not that they seem to have any true association with the national parks rangers. The cutest bit is the talking animals with moving eyes, eyebrows, mouth on the totem poles. This portion is 2 minutes. After the video and talking animals, we exited via the back to enter the ride. From what I can tell, the middle row is the best. I was in the back row, relatively center. The three rows start in a horizontal position, then they move into the vertical position. We have seat beats, of course. Being on the back row, my peripheral vision easily saw beyond the screen so it wasn't as immersive. No matter. I laughed and giggled with all the rest flying all over Washington. The ride itself is maybe 5 minutes total. If you have motion sickness or prone to vertigo, this might not be a good experience for you. Note that there are many steps to climb. I'm sure there is an elevator somewhere. read more

Very similar to Soarin at Disney World! This is a MUST DO! It's a simulation ride where you do not physically move anywhere but it FEELS as if you are flying in the air with your feet dangling. It's so beautiful, fun and intriguing! I kept looking down trying to figure out what was actually happening! I love this ride!!! I won't take any stars away from the ticket buying experience, but I will tell you that 3 tickets for $21 a piece will run you over $70 dollars. If you try to ask them why, you won't get much of an answer. They'll say tax and let you be confused at the 15% markup. There's a service fee and a retail tax that is a little higher than you might be used to. The experience was amazing though. The 4d experience leaves you feeling like your flying over some pretty neat spots in Washington. It's about 7ish minutes, but very exciting read more

As a tourist, I loved this! It was my first time in Washington so it was a nice experience to see what else Washington was about! Only thing was that I was sad it was too short. The pre-show was quite entertaining and the overall experience or ride lasts maybe about 10 minutes. If you enjoy the ride Soaring at Disneyland then you'd enjoy this ride as well. The experience is unique and makes you feel like you're flying around Washington. For $18 a ticket, I felt it was very reasonable for what you get. There was a bit of a line when I entered so it took about 20 minutes from ticket purchase to actually walking into. Worth checking out once, especially if you're a tourist! read more

This is a great date or tourist experience. The imagery is 4D and truly feels like you are flying over these places. A light mist of water as you pass by the falls, adds to the realistic experience. As others have mentioned the price point is questionable (a bit high) for a simple experience such as this 7 minute ride but after you're done you won't really regret it. This is very much like what we know as Flyover Las Vegas. Although implemented differently, it's still very much the same type of concept. It was real fun flying around the state of Washington! I really don't think they needed that fake bird on the screen, though. That took me away from the overall effect. All the sights, sounds, smells and mist were very fun. I'm not sure if there are any elevators available, but with my cane, they made me walk up and down a lot of stairs. read more

What an immersive 4D experience! As soon as I entered, initially it felt very kiddish. I even rolled eyes at my friend who brought me here to experience this. But after the safety talk ended, you're made to proceed to the next room for the ride. Try to choose the middle seats instead of aisle ones. It was freaking cool to see different parts of Washington. It's basically the bald eagle takes you on this wild ride to show the mesmerizing landscapes of the state of Washington. Places like top of Mt. Rainier, St. Helene's, lakes, swim with orcas, Snoqualmie falls, all the different islands around, Elliot bay, hot air balloons (which frankly I didn't know existed here), Seattle downtown, the Needle. You'll also experience the 4D effects all through the ride like mist sprays, blows in the face and ears. The only downside is this experience is rather short. I wanted it to go on for some more time. I thought I was done with all the touristy things having visited Seattle so many times. This was one of the most exciting touristy activity I have done in a long time here. Okay I did not expect to bawl my eyes out on this ride but I totally did - my own personal reasons that I doubt others will share the same way, but anyways, this ride is beautiful and well down. The ride starts with this cute intro with talking totem pole animals and then you strap in. It takes you through gorgeous vistas of Washington, from lakes to mountains to tulip fields to the Seattle skyline. It's really well done and just beautiful, similar to Disney's "Soarin" as mentioned in other reviews. What made me bawl was passing over the University of WA - my dad was a huge fan and he passed away just a few months ago. I didn't think this ride would make me emotional but it sure did, in a good way! read more

My family and I have visited and enjoyed this exhibit in the past. We brought visitors to see it today, but quickly realized that they have completely removed all of the footage they use to have of Central and Eastern Washington, focusing only on the west coast. Not only was it far too short for the expensive price tag, it was also misleading about what makes Washington state beautiful. Disappointing and inaccurate! Political?? If you have a fear of heights, this might not be the ride for you. Also, the ride uses scented oils and a couple sprays of water to enhance the overall experience. No photos or videos are allowed while in the WOW experience. The ride starts off in an antechamber, where a ranger explains what's ahead. Once you move to the ride, you're expected to buckle in, with a strap between your legs (so keep this in mind, anyone in a dress or skirt!). After having been to Soarin' over California at the Disneyland Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, several times, I was eager to see what kind of experience Wings over Washington could present at its Waterfront location in Seattle. After tickets and standing in line we were escorted into a waiting room (to kill time) and then into the main show room. What strikes you first is how small the main stage is, with only 2-3 rows of seats. They would not allow me to take pictures (I implored, only the seats please, before the show).
