This is a tourist attraction and something fun to do with children, if you're visiting downtown Seattle. It's located on the waterfront, with amazing views surrounding it. The virtual ride is good, but not comparable to an actual theme park ride.

We went on Wings Over Washington, which is a similar experience to soaring over California at Disney California Avdenture or Back to the Future at Universal. You get some info and a lil bideo before you take your seats in the simulator. The experience is really cool, you feel like you are flying, you can smell the flowers and feel the mist from the waterfall. I would definitely reccomend doing this, kids would love it. They do have to be 42" to ride.

Checked out the Waterfront on a cold and rainy day (are there any sunny days here.. ha!). There were very few people around. And most of the shops and restaurants were closed or closing early...again because there weren't many customers around. For fun, we went through the Wings Over Washington exhibit. This is a short animated show about the state followed by a motion-visual simulator ride where you fly around the state. It was fun and kids will definitely enjoy the "flight!" I'd like to visit this area again some day...but only if it's warm and sunny!

Since my initial review, I have ridden WoW several more times. I have changed my opinion and I believe this is a top tier attraction. I retain my statement however that more of Eastern WA, including the Columbia river Gorge, Spokane area, and Grand Coulee damn should have been included. Hopefully an update in the future will bring more of this.

Deceptive starting point that looks boring, then it becomes fun

Wings over Washington is a "4-D Experience", with the 4th dimension being that they mist water on you. (Spoiler, but is it though?) Anyway, for $18 + tax, about $20 per person, you get about 7 minutes total of experience. Buy tickets online to avoid the line at the booth. You stand in-line to get into waiting area. In the summer, with cruise passengers, it could be nuts. In December, no problem. We stepped in and joined the group already waiting. They have a very small waiting area inside, so it's best to expect to wait outside. Once in the waiting area, they have a wall display. We were stuck behind a group, so we never saw that. It doesn't seem to be a big deal. After going up several flights of stairs, the first room we entered is for safety, introduction with a video recording of a "park ranger", not that they seem to have any true association with the national parks rangers. The cutest bit is the talking animals with moving eyes, eyebrows, mouth on the totem poles. This portion is 2 minutes. After the video and talking animals, we exited via the back to enter the ride. From what I can tell, the middle row is the best. I was in the back row, relatively center. The three rows start in a horizontal position, then they move into the vertical position. We have seat beats, of course. Being on the back row, my peripheral vision easily saw beyond the screen so it wasn't as immersive. No matter. I laughed and giggled with all the rest flying all over Washington. The ride itself is maybe 5 minutes total. If you have motion sickness or prone to vertigo, this might not be a good experience for you. Note that there are many steps to climb. I'm sure there is an elevator somewhere.

Very similar to Soarin at Disney World! This is a MUST DO! It's a simulation ride where you do not physically move anywhere but it FEELS as if you are flying in the air with your feet dangling. It's so beautiful, fun and intriguing! I kept looking down trying to figure out what was actually happening! I love this ride!!! Be sure to put your loose items (purses, backpack etc) in the bin under your seat.

As a tourist, I loved this! It was my first time in Washington so it was a nice experience to see what else Washington was about! Only thing was that I was sad it was too short. I was expecting the same thrill as like Harry Potter Universal Studios, but I'll still take it! Lol I know i wasn't at Universal lol I recommend everyone to try it out for sure.

The ending scene of the ride

It was entertaining and fun. I wish it had been a little longer and spoke to what you were seeing. Good for children and adults.

It's like Disney's soaring over CA, but obviously a Washington one. It's a great opportunity to learn about Washington while having fun

If you come to Seattle avoid the Wings Over Washington. Does not honor military discount.

Spent $100 for four tickets and they put us in with a group of kids who screamed for the entire 15 minutes. Not a good experience.

Ask the Community - Wings Over Washington

What does this ride do?

No. It's right next to it.

Is this ride ok for a 4 year old?

Absolutely!! Totally safe and fun.

Everybody had mentioned it is a short ride, but no one mentioned how long is it ?, is it really full 15 mins as the website claim?

As the others said the interactive pre-ride stuff is included in that timeframe. The actual ride is under 5 minutes.

I honestly can't recommend this place enough. I was completely blown away…read more From the moment we walked in, the level of professionalism and cleanliness stood out, especially for a kids' arcade and activity center. Everything felt well run and thoughtfully managed. One thing that really impressed me as a parent was the staff member monitoring the entrance and exit. He was incredibly attentive. He recognized us, noticed our child, and was clearly keeping track of who was coming and going. Of course, you should always watch your own kids, but having someone that alert adds a huge layer of peace of mind. We used a Groupon, and if you have ever used one, you know it can sometimes be a hassle, but not here. The process was seamless. A staff member radioed ahead for us, and by the time we got to the snack counter, they already knew what to do. No waiting, no confusion. We were set up immediately and on our way. That level of coordination was impressive. Every game we tried was working perfectly, including VR games, which is rare in most arcades. Even smaller details, like all the basketballs being available at the Papa Shot machines, did not go unnoticed. The kids' drop ride was a huge hit with my daughter, and the claw machines, which guarantee a prize, were a fun bonus, especially as a way to end the visit on a high note. The prize center was also well balanced, with reasonable ticket costs and fun options. They had some great games too, like rhythm games and classics, that made it enjoyable for both kids and adults. The real surprise was the food. We ordered pizza expecting typical arcade food, but it exceeded expectations by a mile. It was soft, fresh, and genuinely delicious, easily better than what you would find at places like Chuck E. Cheese. The entire dining area was spotless, which is almost unheard of in venues like this. Tables were clean. Floors were clean. Everything felt cared for. The service continued to impress throughout. Our food came out quickly, and when we finished, the staff handled all the cleanup. We actually went out of our way to find cash just to leave a tip because the service deserved it. We originally came for the full experience, including batting cages, laser tag, go karts, and mini golf, but honestly, even before doing any of that, I can confidently say this place is incredibly well run. Based on everything we experienced, I have no doubt the rest will be just as great. If you are a parent looking for a fun, safe, and well managed place for your kids that you will actually enjoy too, this is it.

There is a dining option available on site and the food/concessions is good for what it is. The age range of kids we saw is all over the place which is good if you have a mixed age group but also, if you're looking for something for a specific age group, you may be out of luck. This place gives Dave and Buster vibes but has both and indoor and outdoor component. You can earn tickets to redeem for items and I was quite surprised about how big of a venue was here. It was rainy and we stay indoors so I can't really comment on the outdoor components. Overall, I'd come back but it's not my "go-to" for indoor gaming/food activity.

We didn't get lucky with everything--the lion was taking a nap and completely out of sight--but honestly, that's part of the experience. The kids still had a great time seeing the giraffes and exploring the other exhibits. What really made our visit stand out was a small moment that turned into something special. We stopped by the VR area near the carousel and met Catherine, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. She asked what we wanted to watch, and my daughter ended up chatting with her and mentioned her birthday was coming up. Out of nowhere, Catherine surprised us with a couple of carousel passes and a little birthday clip. It completely made my daughter's day--you could see how excited she was, and that kind of genuine kindness sticks with you. We come here pretty often during the summer since we're members, and experiences like this are exactly why we keep coming back. The staff really goes the extra mile. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to add more hand sanitizer stations, especially around the food areas and restrooms. It would just make things a bit more convenient for families. Overall, we love this place and appreciate the effort they put into both the animals and the guest experience. Looking forward to many more visits.

The lanterns are spaced out well, so it never feels crowded or rushed, and there's a nice rhythm to the walk where you naturally slow down and take things in. Some sections feel calm and quiet, others are more colorful and playful, and it all flows really well along the zoo paths. I grabbed tacos from one of the food spots and a cappuccino from a coffee stand, which was exactly what I wanted on a cold evening. Simple, warm, and easy to enjoy while wandering. It's the kind of setup where you can snack, stroll, stop, and keep moving without breaking the mood. Overall, Wild Lanterns 2025 feels well thought out without being overdone. It works just as well for a relaxed solo walk as it does with friends or family, and it's one of the few seasonal events I'm genuinely happy to make a repeat tradition.
