Love this place! I ordered the egg Benedict. It was good. Services could be a little faster! Ambience is really good. I like the view of the Auburn Airport. I would definitely visit if I am in the area!

We flew into this cute airport hidden in the mountains, and stumbled upon this cute restaurant. First we had to rotate our big plane to a proper spot, and across the gate we were quietly seated inside. I like the simple short menu choices here. I was very hungry, and ate the entire sandwich. The sandwich was big and delicious. Server was quick and nice.

'Street' view, though the restaurant is nicely situated in its own parking lot.

By luck, I discovered this breakfast/lunch cafe by the Auburn airport. What a pleasant surprise. Wings is an off the beaten path cafe, but well worth stopping by. It's a stones throw (literally) from Knee Deep Brewery. They serve breakfast til 11:30 and lunch til 2pm. I am a pancake lover, and I loved their light, moist pancakes. I had the pancake/egg/meat combo and it was perfect... and quite filling. Get a side dish of chopped walnuts to add perfection to the cakes. The waitstaff was attentive and always ready with coffee top-off's! Wings Grill has an airport view out the back window, as well as outdoor seating in nice weather. There is even a small lawn play area for kids. Parking is ample with its dedicated parking lot. While not a boutique cafe with fancy tableware, Wings is a great local home style casual cafe. Give it a look!

Flew up for a burger with the fam and met some friends. Pretty tasty. Salad looked good. Generous portions.

It's a little past 09:00 in the morning, Friday, June 14, 2024, and it's time to enjoy an amazing breakfast at Wings Grill.

Located at the Auburn Municipal Airport, identified as KAUN, in Auburn, CA, Wings Grill and Espresso Bar serves delicious breakfast and lunch to pilots, locals, aviation buffs, and anybody who enjoys a great meal. Wings Grill is located at the Auburn Municipal Airport, in Auburn, CA. The large white shade canopy, covering the greatly expanded patio has been recently added, to enhance your outdoor dining experience and general aviation watching. You get to enjoy great dining, and watching airplanes, which makes for a winning combination. As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a "Please Wait to be Seated" sign, and you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member. We walked in and were immediately greeted, and asked to be seated on the lovely patio, with a view of the airport. You can sit at any open table. The main dining room in furnished with tables, and, naturally, features aviation decor. On this gorgeous morning in mid-June, there was exactly one dining in the dining room, while everybody else was enjoying the amazing 80-degree weather and light breeze on the patio. From the "Wings Grill Menu," we both went with "Two Eggs And..." and the "And" for us turned out to be chicken fried steak. We both went with potatoes, two eggs fried over easy, and Dan went with cottage cheese, while my choice was biscuits and gravy. We enjoyed a beer for an appetizer... or was it dessert? The highlight of the breakfast was the chicken fried steak, which I can truthfully way turned out the be perhaps the BEST chicken fried steak that I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy, and... trust me... I have many chicken fried steaks under my belt. The chicken fried steak featured a seasoned, tender beef patty, about 6-oz, flattened thin, battered, and fried to a rich golden brown. Wings puts a unique and, for me, a never-seen-before slant on this delicious entree by topping it with jack cheese, bell pepper, onions and creamy sausage gravy. The cheese, bell pepper, onions and sausage gravy made for a simply unbelievably delicious chicken fried steak experience, which I'd never experienced before. All lovers of chicken fried steaks take note! The side of homestyle potatoes was seasoned, cut to small chunks and deep fried to a tender, golden brown with a nice golden crust, with tender, white potato on the inside. Like the chicken fried steak, the potatoes were perfectly fried. The chef at this fine restaurant truly has talent. Both of ordered eggs fried over easy, and the eggs arrived exactly as ordered: Perfectly fried over easy. This fine plate was garnished with a slice of orange and a sprig of fresh parsley to add to the beautiful presentation. My choice of side was biscuit and gravy, which is a side that I rarely resist, as it always enhances breakfast, or any other meal. My side was one small, fresh, in-house made biscuit, covered with the same delicious sausage gravy that enhanced my main dish. Mmmmm! I piled my eggs on top of the potatoes, added a few dashes of Cholula Mexican hot sauce to the eggs and moved the biscuit and gravy over to the main plate. Simply delicious! Breakfast lovers and lovers of chicken fried state will rejoice when enjoying this fine breakfast at Wings Grill, as I enjoyed the BEST CHICKEN FRIED STEAK EVER and most likely the finest chicken fried steak in Placer County, and maybe the entire west coast. General aviation and fine food co-locate at Wings Grill to add up to a winning combination. The food is great, the service is friendly and the dining, especially on the patio, will delight all "foodies," pilots and fans of watching a busy municipal airport in action. Five star dining at Wings Grill and Espresso Bar, located in Auburn, CA.

Had breakfast this morning at Wings and our boys loved it! The food was yummy, friendly service and the entertainment was top notch! We sat outside, which is nice and covered, and it could not have been a more perfect morning. The service is a little slow so if you're in a hurry maybe skip this one but if you're wanting a leisurely and fun morning and time to really enjoy your breakfast this is the place to go. Ooh and the TBO and French Toast was amazing and our 3yr old ate almost his entire giant pancake, an egg and a slice of bacon.

Breakfast was so disappointing. Waited 45 minutes for the food only for it to be bland. I have always loved this place for breakfast so I am hoping they just had a bad day. Still loved the planes taking off and landing...

I ordered a vegetarian omlette with fruit, and received a huge plateful of food. Everything was fresh, especially the fruit which had a variety and not the usual sad melon. The omelet was stuffed with nicely cooked veggies and covered with more. My SO and brother also ordered omelets stuffed with various meats and crisp potatoes, also delicious. Coffee was average but plentiful. Alright why is this not a 5 star given the food is amazing? The service is terrible. I believe it "might" be the owner, but it is run by an angry, scowling rude woman who shouts orders to her staff. Ownership entitlement does not suit her well. I could not believe this person was even working, they were so disgruntled and gave the small restaurant a dark vibe. I truly felt bad for the young staff bustling around. I would eat here again because everything we ordered was delicious and the kitchen is clearly talented, but expect zero niceties or friendly banter. It definitely ruins the overall ambiance and I am not the first person to note this. Tip, order the potatoes they are season perfectly.

I celebrated my clients birthday yesterday!!…read more Happy Birthday, Dianne!!!! She picked Awful Annie's so she could enjoy an Awful Annie's Famous Body Mary! It had a touch of spice and was garnished with celery, a green olive, a spicy green bean, pepperchini, a lime, and a pearl onion. For lunch, we decided to order of the weekend specials menu! I ordered the Carnitas & chorizo Huevos Stack and she ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Dip... service was good. While we waited for our food, my client had to use the restroom twice. From where we were sat, it was quite a long walk, but it was an accessible ramp she was able to use since she has a cane. The steps would've been too much for her. When our meals arrived... both were stunning. My huevos Stack was not all it was cracked up to be. Although they had great crispy tortillas underneath, it had a lot of other soft foods on it that didn't give it much texture. Refried beans, over medium eggs, pico de gallo, red enchilada sauce, and not much meat on it to go around the plate to even it out. Dianne's Country Fried Steak Dip looked and tasted like it was created by someone that knows their breakfasts! Between 2 slices of parmesan toasted bread, there was a thin country fried steak, with over medium eggs, cheese, and BACON!!! And a side of gravy to dip into. That was a million times better than the huevos Stack! So I politely asked our server if I could switch to that special. She got the order in right away and it was out fast. Every bite had the perfect amount of flavor and their sausage gravy tasted insanely good! Both my client and I went home worth half of our meal. She was so happy and it melted my heart that I helped her have an amazing birthday. With the help of Awful Annie's, they helped her birthday become a home run!!! Delicious bloody Mary's, double delicious on our Country Fried Steak Dips, and fine service from the best in town! Thank you Awful Annie's!!

Happy Easter everyone!…read more Today, my daughter and I went out to breakfast here at Sweetpeas. It is located off the freeway on the corner of Bowman and Luther roads. There was plenty of parking when we pulled in. As you walk in, you seat yourself. I hadn't been here before, but my daughter has. When we sat down (table and chairs kinda place), one server got us a couple of waters while we were looking over the menu.. perfect, because that's what we love to drink. After we decided on what we wanted I got a chance to look around at the decor on the walls. It felt very family friendly with baby pictures on the walls, signs, coffee mugs along the restaurants name spelled out on the wall. It was very cute and cozy. My daughter ordered the Carnitas Omelet (Carnitas omelet with jack cheese, black beans, red onions, avocado, and black olives, topped with sour cream. Served with sourdough toast and fresh fruit) with strawberries. I ordered the Huevos Ranchero's with eggs over medium (Corn tortillas, refried beans, 2 eggs, sour cream, avocado, homemade salsa, and cheese cheese. Also served with a side of salsa.) We didn't wait long, it arrived within 10 minutes. Also, after smelling their delicious coffee, I had to have a cup! A+!!!! My daughter let me try her Carnitas Omelet. Their Carnitas is on point! It was tender and has great flavor! Her omelet was beautifully cooked, being that it was gorgeous, yellow and fluffy. My Huevos Ranchero's was crispy in the bottom as I requested. I love the topping of avocado. The only thing I would change is to get all the salsa on the side. There was quite a bit on the Huevos Ranchero's themselves and it was a little overwhelming. Next time, I'll order it completely on the side. The menu has it listed as homemade... it tasted a little bit like it was Pace chunky salsa. I didn't even touch the side of salsa that also comes in the side and I wasn't sure what the extra side of tortillas was for, but I took those home. My daughter took home about half of her 3 egg omelet and some toast. Maddy was a great server. Everyone helped each other out by doing coffee refills for all tables (not just their own), running out hot food, and helping clean up tables as people finished their plates. Great team work! We paid up in the front and we're on our way. BE SURE TO TIP YOUR SERVER FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK!
