I do like it when a new wing place pops up and one that makes great tenders as well. I stopped in after work and ordered one of their daily specials that consisted of five breaded chicken tenders, carrot and celery sticks, and two bread sticks. I asked for the medium buffalo sauce to be served on the side in a small container. The chicken tenders arrived piping hot right out of the fryer. They were all of different sizes but each were well breaded and the fry gave them a good crunch. The all white chicken meat inside was tender and juicy. The mild buffalo sauce that I ate with them was very good a provided more flavor than heat, which was I was looking for. Very good tenders. The bread sticks were okay. They had good flavor with the mild salt, Parmesan, and garlic seasoning they put on them, but they were not as moist as they should of been. I think they were sitting in the warmer for a while. They tasted good but were a little dry inside. The carrots and celery were good, except for one carrot piece that had a brown end which I cut off. The poppers were pretty much the usual, not bad but nothing special. The wings were just okay as well. Great sauce but a bit chewy in texture. Service was excellent, though, and the fries were perfectly cooked and topped with a creamy sauce (similar to French dressing, which I don't generally care for but worked great on this dish!) and the perfect amount of BBQ pulled pork, creating one bite after delicious bite. We luckily didn't ran into any problems ourselves, but it was alarming to watch a bunch of people from multiple orders return to the counter to ask about forgotten/mistaken/neglected items. It was also inconveniently confusing to fill my fountain soda: the soda fountain, the lids, and straws are all on completely different locations on the counter. We sat by the soda fountain while we were waiting for our food, and even helped direct a few other people to the straws/lids across the room when they looked lost. The garlic parmesan wings were good but not my favorite: well-cooked, but way too much sauce/seasoning for me. However, the buffalo chicken fries were awesome! We got a mini-sized fries (w/ medium buffalo sauce) to share between us, and I was totally addicted. Wasn't overly spicy for me, and had just the right amount of heat. Wings Empire is a place that I discovered a couple of years ago from driving by, and has remained consistent every time I stop in. I have only ever came here for the buffalo fries and have never tried anything else on their menu, so that should tell you how much I love their fries! I've tried a couple of their flavors and always end up ordering the teriyaki fries because I really like the sweetness of adds to the spice of the sauce that they already put on. The large is the perfect size for sharing and honestly the knot size worth it in my opinion because I have ordered the medium before and it feels like the same amount of fries just with less chicken. The business itself has never been busy when we have come by here so we've never had to wait long for takeout. There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. This location is so much better than the one in El Cajon. I live close to the one in El Cajon actually but I gladly make the drive to LA Mesa atleast once a week for the G.O.A.T buffalo fries.
