The only saving grace was the chicken wings which are much better (bigger and crispier) than most places. Your typical Chinese spot, it gets the job done when you need food quickly. No complaints about the food, it's always hot and never too oily. 5 Stars! Food is great. The Sesame chicken has a delicate light coating, the steamed shrimp and veggies come with a choice of sauce and the noodle soups are all excellent. my establishment offers wing wong wednesdays...but recently i have found that the chicken used to make products is found in buckets on the ground when i went to use the bathroom in the back of the restaurant. highly yucky standards, poor health hazards, found blood in chicken. I have ordered food from Wing Wong for many years and I was never disappointed. There in a strip mall right on Jericho Tpke. so it's easy access both in and out. Parking can be difficult depending on what time of day your here given the busy surrounding stores. You walk into a small seating area and like all other take outs... the counter is right in front of you. They have always been pleasant and helpful with questions and prepared my food quickly. The biggest draw back for me is that they are a cash only operation. My food experiences have been limited, but what I have eaten has always been fresh and hot. I really enjoy their wonton-eggdrop mixed soup. Their wontons are smaller than the average shop and more delicate than most other places, I find them fresh and tasty. The other dish I get is the chicken lo-mein. Definitely a good sized portion and extremely tasty. The egg roll is definitely lighter in texture but still had the crunch and taste. The fact that there right around the corner from my house is also a big plus for me. I'm hoping that one day soon they step up to the wonderful world plastic! read more

We ordered the General Tso's chicken and it hardly had any chicken. The small pieces of chicken we found were so dry due to over frying. This is the worst general tso's chicken I have ever tried. First time I ordered from here, and I was very happy. I ordered hot and sour soup, which was absolutely amazing, with such great flavor. My wife ordered the Thai Chicken hot and sour soup, which I was jealous she had it. Both were a nice size, and had a great amount freshness to it. We also ordered the chicken with eggplant and garlic, that was very large. It had a great flavor, a little bit of a spicy flavor, but the amount of garlic was even better. Lastly, we ordered sesame chicken, which is almost impossible to mess up. It had the perfect amount of chicken, they had a great level of flavor, and the best part was there wasn't a ton of sesame seeds in it. Wing Wong is certainly not gourmet, but I have tried all the other takeouts in the Mineola Garden City area and they are the best. They are easy to speak with when ordering, they get the order right, and their delivery is reliable. As most Chinese takeout they have many menu options. I think they have a few unique choices. I do usually like their food when ever I've gotten it in the past. The lo mein and crab Rangoon are usually what I've gotten and they've been great. I don't recommend their pork bun. It was not good, the bread they used was sorta like small challah bread size and consistency that became very wet from what was stuffed inside before I even bit into it. The food is sometimes amazing, and sometimes OK. It depends on what time of day you order. If you order it when they are very busy, then the food isn't great. Also, if you order it VERY LATE, when they are going to close down - then it's also bad. When it's good, it's amazing. They have a lunch special which is very filling. It is a platter with half rice + half of the dish you ordered. Also, they give a free coke or soup. And it's only $6-8 so it's very reasonable. After eating Chinese take out from a few places in Mineola I was severely disappointed. Gave Wing Wong a shot and I won't take my chances anywhere else. I'll ignore the somewhat offensive logo design on the menu (catering to white people?) for a decent Americanized Chinese meal. Plus, the past two times I ordered online there was a free side with deliveries over $50. Don't know why half the locations around here haven't been reviewed since 2015... but things have definitely changed. I've had the pork buns (which were really good!), chow fun, walnut shrimp, general tso's chicken, and other items. I don't have a complaint about anything I've ordered here. I don't care at all for general tso's chicken, in general, because it's a very generic thing to get! But I eat it because my husband orders it. I think it's funny when people complain about that menu item, like it's supposed to be something fantastic. At this location, I think it's pretty much what you expect on the breaded meter, maybe a little bit extra. If you don't like breaded chicken don't order a dish that comes breaded and if you are picky about the level of breadedness you need, don't expect them to make it exactly the way you want it. If I judged Chinese restaurants based on their general tso's chicken I would never get Chinese food period. Sorry for the rant.. Besides that, there is definitely some added coloring to the wonton soup. It's way too yellow, but it's good so I eat it with guilt.
