Every time I come here I'm reminded that I like it and mean to come back more often. It's just a little pricey. I mean not 3 dollar signs but defiantly 2 and a half dollar signs. Worth it though. I went to Winewood with a friend from church because there was a long wait at the Mexican restaurant, Mi Dia. We ordered a bruschetta appetizer that was pretty good. I think that was my most enjoyable part of the meal aside from the Winewood mac and cheese. I'll get back to that. I ended up ordering the crabcakes off the appetizer menu for my main course with a side of mac and cheese. The crabcakes were ok but the mac was the real MVP! Haha. Very good. I went there twice during my stay in the DFW airport area. Sat at the bar both times. I had the lamb the first time and then ahi tuna second time. Lamb was my favorite. You are in Texas, get meat. ;). But ahi tuna was very good as well, Asian inspired. Back to the lamb: probably some of the best cooked lamb I had in a long time. Had a lovely time at Winewood while I was in Dallas for work. Our leader set up a team wine tasting dinner, which was well received by the whole team. Upon arriving the hostess took us to our private room immediately. We were kindly greeted and very briefly explained the wines on our table and the options on our prefix menu. I chose the salmon from the six options we had and tasted some of the lamb my colleague had. Both were exceptional!! For dessert we had a chocolate and peanut butter cookie inside a chocolate brownie, oh my! The only criticism I'd have would be the wines. They weren't particularly my favorite and I don't think I would have picked any of them if I had to choose. On our way out I got a better view of the rest of the restaurant which was very elegant and had an intimate vibe even though it's quite a large space. read more

Stumbled across this restaurant when I was trying to figure out where to grab dinner since we were in the area. Parking was a little challenging on a Saturday night but they do offer valet parking. Restaurant is located in a little plaza with a bunch of other great restaurants around it as well. Saturday night around 8pm and the estimated wait time for us for a table of 2 was roughly 20 minutes give or take. Food was amazing. We got the beef tenderloin bruschetta as an appetizer and it was so flavorful. It came on a dish of about 4. I got a honey soy roasted chicken dish with potatoes and Brussel sprouts and my boyfriend got the sea bass special for the day. Overall experience at the restaurant was great. Went in for Saturday brunch. First time ever trying this place. Based off the online menu, I was excited. From the start, the general vibe of this place is very hotel. The service was so slow from the moment we sat down. Once we ordered our drinks, it felt like 15 mins but was probably more like 5 til our two coffees arrived. We put in a starter, and another 20 mins (I timed it this time) for spinach dip. The dip was meh, but I did appreciate the big chunks of artichoke so that saved it. The salsa was canned, the chips were boring. Nothing to write home about. Roughly another 20 mins goes by and we're ready to order our mains. French omelet, Winewood hash and a starter Mac and cheese. When I tell you how plain and regular and hotel this food was. The breakfast potatoes very clearly come in frozen from a bag and get tossed with some very lightly sautéed peppers and onions. No seasoning, no care went into this side at all. A French omelet is typically a delicate, rolled, fluffy egg. This was a flat, folded over, greasy unseasoned disaster. The Brie/mushroom/spinach/onion mix sounds good in theory but the execution did not deliver. The steak hash was boring, under seasoned grey bites of steak with the frozen hotel potatoes and a couple of eggs on top. The Mac and cheese was pretty much the only thing that saved the meal for us, and only because it was literally enough to feed a family of four. Even if I wanted to complain or have an issue, our server was MIA most of this experience. When he finally came around, we asked for a box and had payment ready to go. Like literally just wanted to be done with this part of my day and another 10-15 goes by between boxing and paying. The beet salad was unique, creative, and very tasty along with being generous in size. I've come here twice for brunch with friends and have had really great experiences. Winewood has a great brunch menu and the bottomless mimosas are superb. I've had the pleasure of eating the Croque Madame and Good Morning Grapevine and I really enjoyed both. The Croque Madame was surprisingly so delicious to me. The open sandwich idea with egg, ham and cheese really made my stomach very happy and as always, a mimosa or two makes everything better. The covered outdoor seating is awesome for big groups such as our 10-12 people Sunday brunch groups we bring on occasion and the waiters have been exceptional for each of the times I've been. The restaurant is beautiful, the facilities are clean and tidy and the service is great. I highly recommend coming for brunch for sure. read more

Great casual atmosphere, dependable service and a very nice menu. You can choose from chicken, beef, lamb, pork or fish so they have it covered. The plating presentation is a visual feast. My one and only observation of where there is room for improvement is a simple one. If the word "Wine" is in your name, and you offer a lot of interesting wines (they do) then you should have the correct WINE GLASS to serve it in and they don't. If they offered their Lodi Zin in a Zin Glass it would be outta if this world. What they use is a generic wine glass that takes the wine's personality and makes it mundane at best. Don't let this stop you from going, like I said the food and service are there, they just need to invest in the correct glass to serve their wine in. read more

It was $3 Mimosas today, so kinda hoping for bottomless like a good number of the reviews stated but it doesn't stop me from giving this place 5 stars. Good food at a reasonable price will always work in my book. The wife and I had the chicken and waffles with maple-bacon syrup and let me say that it didn't disappoint. The mimosas were good, in the picture you will see one with orange juice and one with grapefruit juice and my wife had the frozen rose which is now added to her favorite drink list... First we decided to sit at the bar. One of the bartenders had a poor attitude. She was extremely short with us, not patient and not helpful. So much so I refused to order a drink directly from her and asked the hostess if we could be moved to table because I didn't want her negative energy to ruin my anniversary dinner. I told the hostess and she told the manager and he came by to apologize and was very nice and so was our server. They offered us a free appetizer which was un necessary but very nice. We ordered the bruschetta and it was pretty good. I also ordered the el Diablo drink with mezcal that was really tasty too. We then ordered the sea bass and the ribeye for dinner. Unfortunately my sea bass was not even warm and was so covered in sauce there was no crust to it. I ordered it before and it was so amazing. This time was a total miss. Then my husbands ribeye was probably the worst piece of steak we have ever had. He had to spit out about 5 bites of straight fat and didn't even want to finish the rest. It was gross. The stars of both of our dishes were the sides. The potatoes and risotto were really good. Of course not wanting to be the people who complain about everything we didn't really say to much about it. The server was nice and brought us out a brownie desert for our anniversary which was really nice and thoughtful. But that didn't taste good either. Definitely the thought that counts on that one. It's just really disappointing to spend $150 plus tip on a meal that was not good. Maybe we came on a bad food night? Not sure if we will return for dinner. In town for a visit and randomly chose this restaurant based on location. Wow! is all I can say. I have rarely had this quality of food and service in such a comfortable atmosphere and at such a reasonable price. We split the caprese salad, filet and au gratin potatoes with a side of bacon-wrapped green beans. I could have cut the steak with a fork, and it was cooked exactly the way I like it. We topped it all off with a Brookie-which is a steamy, cookie-stuffed brownie with caramel-draped ice cream on top. Scott was an amazing server and was so entertaining and attentive. Ridiculously expensive and low quality food. Four persons and the bill was $405.00 before tip!!! The crab cakes were tiny and flat, the steak Oscar was small and cost $63.00!!! The lobster mac and cheese (at $18.00) had teeny-tiny pieces of lobster and wasn't cheesy or flavorful at all. We brought a special bottle of wine from Oregon and were told they don't allow outside wine. Then the manager came back and opened it and said she was making a special exception. She made it seem like she was just doing us a favor and we thanked her profusely and poured her a sample. Then we find out that she added $25.00 to the bill for corkage. It would have been nice if she informed us of the corkage fee BEFORE opening the wine. read more

Reasonable prices for delicious food Do yourself a favor, order the Calamari: huge juicy strips with a great spicy dipping sauce. Bread plate had a variety of great breads, but the real winner is the herbed butter it comes with. My date liked it so much he asked for some to go! 6/5/2018 - UPDATE: The manager (Carlos D.) Sent me a message saying that they would like to contact me to personally apologize. I gave my phone number the next day and have never heard back. Over a week later I wrote him saying I still have not heard from anyone and again, radio silence. Don't pay customers lip service that you value them as customers and want to personally apologize and then never follow through. That's worse than the initial bad experience. I was so looking forward to my Mother's Day brunch at Winewood Grill with my mother, my mother in law, my daughters and the rest of my family but I ended up wildly disappointed with the entire experience. We made a reservation well over a month in advance and called specifically because we wanted to hear the jazz music for brunch. When we were seated out on the patio we were told that we wouldn't be able to hear the jazz music from out there and that the entire restaurant was booked so they wouldn't be able to accommodate us inside. (Like I said, we had reservations a month in advance). When my husband tried to talk to the manager he was told that "Just because you asked about the jazz music, doesn't mean it indicates that you want to hear it." We were told that we'd still be able to hear the regular music they play out on the patio, but that was incorrect. Once the live music started inside, there was no music to be heard of on the patio. Our first round of drinks took close to 20 minutes to arrive. Our server actually came back to trying to take our orders when we still didn't have them yet. As for the food, it was okay at best. My mother's eggs benedict showed up with a poached egg that was approaching hard boiled, the entire yolk was cooked. My quiche was bland and overcooked. The waffles were cold and soggy and our bloody marys were watered down. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We went to Winewood to celebrate our engagement! What a great choice, Our lovely server Mark made the experience is more special. The food was incredible. I had the Sea Bass with Risotta and it was perfection. The overall ambiance is chill and sophisticated. Great little mix if you ask me. The calamari is the best I've ever had, hand down. My wife and I sat at the bar to enjoy a glass of wine due to the yelp reviews. We enjoyed a glass of Suriti Pinot Noir and a spinach dip that was outstanding. We were served at the bar by Steven who was very social and attentive to our needs. The ambiance was one of the things that stood out to us. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. The hubs and I tried out this restaurant for brunch yesterday since I've had it under my Yelp bookmarks for so long. Overall, it was pretty tasty, but definitely does not go on our favorites list. The restaurant itself is set up quite nicely. The furniture, bar, and the open kitchen creates a welcoming and cozy feeling. Our waiter was very attentive. They had a great cocktail and wine list, but when the server told us about the $3 mimosas and blood mary, that's what we ordered instead. Many places will stick you with a mimosa in a slender champagne glass, not Winewood. You get a giant wine glass! For $3? Hell yeah! My Bloody Mary was so delicious that my husband got one after his large mimosa. For our appetizers, we ordered the smoked salmon that came garnished with red onions, capers, sliced boiled egg, and a orange creme fraiche that is served with crostinis. While the appetizer itself was pretty good (and came out FREAKISHLY fast), the salmon tasted like regular cooked salmon. Not smoked. I ordered the crab and lobster benedict while my husband ordered the chicken fried ribeye. My entree didn't have the nicest presentation. My poached egg fell off, and the sauce was just everywhere. But hey, it all goes in the same anyways, am I right?! The breakfast potatoes that nearly all the brunch items come with ARE AMAZING. It had little bits of bacon in it (and seriously, anything with bacon makes it 10x better) sautéed with some onions and other deliciousness! I enjoyed my husband's ribeye way more than I enjoyed my own entree. We were afraid the ribeye would be really tough, but it was tender, delicious, and the batter around it was so DARN good! I'm sad we skipped dessert because their options sounded great! We were just stuffed after our entrees. The service was one of the best we've had. Like I said, our server was very attentive, checked on us several times, and cleared our table each time a plate freed up. I'd like to come back and try their dinner one of these days. read more

I have never been to a louder restaurant. We made a reservation for 6. We were seated in an enclosed patio which was so loud we had to scream through the entire meal. I spoke to the hostess and she could not move us inside to the standard seating area (our original reservation requested location) because they were going to have other guests eventually. She offered for the manager to come out and speak with us. The manager never came. I explained to her I would have never made the reservation had I known we would be seated in a location we could not relax and hear one another. Grossly dissatisfied.
