Winewood was absolutely fabulous. My dirty gin martini with three olives was perfectly made. My friend's Midori Sour was also great. We started with bread and the spinach dip. Our waiter was so very patient while we chatted and chatted and took our good sweet time looking at the menu. My husband and I both started with the spinach and strawberry salad. It was delicious and the vinaigrette went well with the sweetness of the strawberries. I had the lump crab cakes as my entree even though it technically is a appetizer. The waiter never batted an eye over my order. Our friend had the special of the night - the ahi tuna over Asian vegetables. He said it was awesome, but he ate it so fast, I never even really got a good look at it. :-) That dish alone was $38 dollars which I think is a little over-priced, but apparently he thought it was worth it. read more

This place is nice and in a convenient location. The staff was great and attentive. Food was pretty good, my husband got the beef tenderloin and it was kind of fatty but everything else we ordered was top notch. We made reservations the day of Valentines day and were able to get in at a prime dinner time. They had a specially made menu for Valentines day along with an area in the restaurant for couples. It felt very romantic and rustic inside. Outside there is an awesome statue that is good for taking pictures, along with a great sitting area outside the restaurant to relax and sip some wine or whatever tickles your fancy. So glad we found this cozy little place to eat at and revisit. The Chocolate Gnocchi cake was delicious, I just want to go for dessert and wine next time! read more

My friend called ahead, and we still ended up waiting for nearly 45 mins. Not acceptable. There was a lot of hype over the mac & cheese. I ordered it. And it was OK. I think the mac & cheese at Panera Bread is way yummier. And not as expensive. My issue with this place is that I can't justify the cost for eating "Americana" food. I just feel like... it's "Americana" hence.. not imported, right? So why do the prices seem like I'm covering import taxes and tariffs? The French Dip was good. The bummer was the waitress gave me the wrong goodie bag and instead of coming home to a delicious steak sandwich I was really looking forward to eating, I opened up the bag and found some over-hyped mac & cheese. Definitely a cool place to come and check out-- I came for dinner -- asked for nickel and nickel and waited a bit to find out they didn't have it-- ordered caymus and it was suggested by the som here that I try an Italian cab (vaio armaron) very bold but towards the end of dinner it opened up very nicely! We ordered rack of lamb and bone in filet (14oz) with 2 bacon wrapped scallops-- honestly the rack of lamb was preferable-- very very well. Especially with the wine selection. For dinner Americano and cinnamon bread pudding -- oh wow... Warm cinnamon bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream?! Sold. Especially great to take a break every now and then and drink their amazing espresso. Service was great- in between the regular check ins from the som and the and the recommendations from our server-- they guaranteed an amazing evening. Went here with a couple of friends and from start to finish, had a wonderful experience. After getting a cocktail while waiting for seats, the bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Once beverage was made, it was time to sit. Waiter came promptly and described specials that were on the menu for the evening, as well as his favorites. He was very informative and knowledgeable about dietary needs for one of our party. A meaty entree could be substituted as a vegetarian option, which one in our party ordered. For appetizers, ordered a caprese salad, as well as the calamari. Both were excellent, and the breading on the calamari was light and not over bearing. For entree, ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with risotto, and it was so tasteful. From first bite to the last bite, was very succulent. The filet was flaky, and cooked perfectly. Dessert was an apple crisp, with ice cream that the table shared. I would definitely go back next chance I get! read more

Showed up at one of the other restaurants nearby, without reservations, and was told it would be a 75 minute wait. Rather than sit there, we walked over to Winewood, got seated immediately, and were not at all disappointed with our choice! Had the Spinach Dip appetizer which was good. I wish they gave more salsa on the side, though. :( My entree was the ribs with mac & cheese. It was amazing! The ribs were perfectly done, and the sauce was just right... not too spicy, not too sweet, and not too much! The mac & cheese side was great, too. For dessert we got the Brookie, which is a brownie muffin with cookie dough baked into it, and a huge scoop of iced cream. Excellent! Absolutely amazing!!! My family dined here on Mothers Day and enjoyed our meals immensely. My brother and his fiancée had the rack of lamb and steak meals, each raved about their meals and as my brother is a cook he is very particular. Unfortunately the service was very standard, our server did not at all appear to be enthused to serve us. We returned last night to celebrate my brothers birthday and this time we received the level of service we expect when we dine at finer restaurants such as Winewood. Our server was John and he was absolutely FANTASTIC, he anticipated our needs and when I was running an hour late because I got stuck at work and we were there after closing he never once made us feel as if we were an imposition or unwelcome. The food was once again amazing. I strongly suggest you try the Black eye lemon drop martini. Amazing. And the ribs were so nice and tender...nothing but great things to say. Outstanding brunch place! I can tell they really take pride in their menu and the service is exceptional. It's upper scale type restaurant, but doesn't feel snobby and the prices are very reasonable! They have the usual suspects for brunch, and some with a twist, like the Winewood Benedict. There's a ginormous cinnamon roll about the size of a small cake. But, I opted for the Good Morning Grapevine, a little simpler eggs and tasty taters on the side with bacon and some pretty incredible fresh fruit with a little topping of yogurt. The coffee is also pretty good! It comes in a huge cup! Best of all...bottomless mimosas for $10. read more

As I said in July, this is one of our favorite restaurants but now that its 12/16/2020 (and we're still only eating in restaurants with outdoor patios) THEY DON'T HAVE HEATERS! My wife and I have been going here for a couple of years and just had the best experience, ever. The food was just as good as always. I'm a sucker for a bone in rib-eye and it was cooked properly. My wife had the filet, it too was cooked well. Fat was rendered and was nicely prepared. We had the snow crab legs as an app and they were tasty, but not sure I would get them again. The there was the staff... I have worked in restaurants both FOH and on the line and the server we had blew our socks off. I feel terrible that I don't remember his name, but my wife and I are fairly certain it was Adam. I am writing this review a couple weeks after the actual visit. We were so impressed I had asked to speak to the MOD so I could chat this guy up. As I've said, we have been here a handful of times, and it was never a bad experience, but it was never THIS. "Adam" was engaging and endearing and genuine. He was just friendly and sincere, but not in a sale man kind of way. Didn't do the let me sit at your table with you bit or chat you up with a fake laugh or story. I will figure out his name and update this review, because it's worth noting. This was my 1st time here and I absolutely love it!!! My family and I came here for brunch and was so pleased with the food selection, prices for the delicious food, service, and the bottomless mimosas! I had the steak and poblano omelette with Gouda and onions! I devoured all of it! I could eat that everyday! The home fries were spot on but the fruit with the poppyseed yogurt blew me away. I also got the bottomless mimosas (Texas style with grapefruit) SO refreshing and yummy! The coffee was delicious as well. The service was perfect and enjoyed the view/atmosphere of this restaurant. Hubby and I usually sit in the bar area at Winewood, which is pretty lively around Happy Hour every day. It's comfortable without being annoying and makes for fun people-watching. Patrons are mostly middle-age or older and most seem to know each other, which makes for a Cheers-like environment. The service is always excellent and the drinks are great and well priced. I only gave it three stars because the food is just average - nothing really noteworthy to write home about. read more

Came here for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. My reservations were set at 8:45pm, got there 15 min early, was seated maybe 9:00pm. Started with Mac and cheese... Delicious, full of flavor, loved it! My entree was the ahi tuna... The tuna slices were thick, med rare, served with rice or pasta? With vegetables. My boyfriend ordered the pork chop... Mash potatoes weren't the normal mashed potato, it was more sliced? It was very good and fulfilling. I'm not a fan of pork chop but Wineswoods porkchop I enjoyed! The restaurant is gorgeous! Glass windows, fireplace, funny statue outside. Warning: on busy nights you may have trouble finding parking since about 3 restaurants share the same parking area. read more

This is a nice date night spot. The hubby and myself have been here a couple of times and both times the service was excellent and the food was amazing. We have tried quite a few things on the menu. For appetizers, we've had the lump crab cakes - pretty good; the ahi tuna - pretty damn good - the chili sauce is to die for; and the calamari - seriously some of the best calamari I've had. For entrees, the pork chop and trout are really good. The mac and cheese is absolutely delish. It is rich and if you're counting calories, probably not the best choice. It has gouda cheese and bacon in it (yum). For drinks, if you are looking for a stiff drink, try the new old fashioned, and the old fashioned (if you want hair on your chest). The cherries in these drinks are soooo good. These cocktails were superbly made and had quite the kick to them! Shout out to our server John! Had an awesome lunch there, while on a business trip to Dallas. Ordered several appetizers of which the the seared tuna was my absolute favorite. The calamari sauce certainly had an enjoyable kick to it, but I must say that I've had better spinach dip. Brunch Review: My first time to Winewood was for a Sunday brunch. I arrived just before 11, when they are officially open. Despite being ten minutes early, they went ahead and sat my party of two. (Make reservations!! It was packed quick) The mimosas are $10 for bottomless. They are served in a wine glass with a generous pour, so it is worth it! They have traditional, Texas (grapefruit juice), and pointestia (cranberry juice). The belinis are $1 and frozen in a small flute. I indulged in the Gouda and bacon Mac n cheese as a starter. It was very creamy, in the sense of being a sauce instead of very cheesy. The bacon bits give a great flavor. For the main event, I had the Winewood Benedict. It is poached eggs on top of pulled pork with pickled onions and an English muffin, topped with a chipotle hollandaise sauce. It was delectable! The pork has a sweet tang, the eggs were perfectly runny. Heaven! On the side was fresh fruit (which typically comes with poppy seed yogurt on top) and skillet potatoes. Yum! My friend had the biscuits and gravy with sunny side up eggs on top. The biscuits were big, but not the flaky type. The gravy was true southern bliss. It is on the pricey side, but I strongly recommend going! I am looking forward to the next available weekend I can go back! read more

This place is just OK. The cajun pasta is a little too spicy. And I am someone that likes to eat raw jalapenos with my tacos, so I can handle some heat. The Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop upset my wife's stomach. The New Fashioned Old-Fashion tasted like a decent Old Fashioned that someone poured grape Kool-Aid in. Their Scotch list is a tad over-priced as well. And to top it all off, the only reason why we come to this place, the Opera Cake, is being discontinued from their dessert menu. While visiting Gaylord Texas Resort we happened upon Winewood. The food was 5 star. You haven't lived until you've had their fried calamari. We enjoyed the rack of lamb, salmon, strawberry salad, and children's burger plate. All were better than we could have imagined. Pleasant find on Easter Sunday. Stopped in for an early dinner and really impressed. The green beans wrapped in bacon were one of the best sides we have had in a long time. Green beans were wrapped in a bundle and grilled then topped with a Parmesan shavings, sliced almonds and a light glaze. Delicious! Sort of mildly insulted my wife for drinking a beer (I'm sure he meant to be joking but it came off as a jerk). People really love the ahi tuna though, but it's not really my thing. This place is big, beautiful, shiny and new. Its brunch menu is varied and almost all of the entrees were well-received at my table of 9. For the one unsatisfactory meal, the server was quick to bring back a corrected version, and the manager came by to personally check that it was up to the standard expected. I would definitely return. Though I don't know if any of the meals were the BEST we've every had, they were better than average and nicely presented. Ordered: 1. 20 day dry aged Wagyu with mashed potato. There was too much gristle, for the $65 I would choose something else. 2. Lamb chops with fingerling potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The lamb was tasty and tender. 3. Sea bass on risotto. The sea bass had a weird texture - like it was frozen and defrosted too fast and too watery or something. Not very flavorful but the risotto was good. 4. Bacon wrapped green beans. The beans were too raw. 5. Potatoes Au gratin. This was good but how can u go wrong with cheese and potatoes? 6. Brookie. Cookie in a brownie. It was dry. 7. Apple Crisp. This was really good - not too sweet with great apple flavor. 8. Calimari. Way too mushy and rubbery, kinda gross. 9. Tenderloin. This was really good- meaty with bread and sauce Food: 3 stars Folks were happy with the wine but the mules were watered down. Drinks: 2 stars The service was great, attentive and en pointe. Service: 4 stars Price: came out to be almost $100 per person. I think it was overpriced for the food. Overall: 2.5-3 stars. read more
