I went to Winewood with a group of work colleagues and found it to offer a great meal in a setting with a cool/hip vibe. A couple of things I noticed: - Great menu, large wine list. I had one of the specials, i.e., Chilean Sea Bass with scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp. It was very good, although the sauce was a little too thick for my taste. - For dessert we shared the Brookie and a cinnamon bread pudding (which I believe was a special dessert)...the bread pudding was far and away the best as the Brookie was a bit dry in the inside. - The atmosphere is very hip, contemporary. But, be warned: it can get pretty loud, especially with what seemed to be some type of live music group (which I never saw). Bottom line: Great food, cool place...I definitely would go back if I lived in the area. read more

Had to go to west side of metroplex so decided to try a new place on the way back. Based on Yelp reviews we gave Winewood a try. Ask you can see 5 stars. The service from the start was excellent, from hostess stand to waiter to ancillary staff , all were courteous and on top of things. Ambience nice , would liked to have sat outside on a beautiful day but only 3 tables outside. Our waiter, Andrew told us more were coming. Andrew was an excellent waiter, very good people skills, helpful and humorous. Ok - the food- I had chicken fried steak , eggs over easy, skillet potatoes and a side of bacon. All were excellent. My wife had butter crab and lobster Benedict and that was good as well. Hollandaise sauce was good without being overly rich. My CFS was tender and flavorful. We are getting married in the metroplex in October. While in town over the winter holiday, we decided to start to look for rehearsal dinner locations. After seeing reviews online, we decided to check out Winewood. I am very happy that we did. They have private dinning spaces which can be altered in size to fit most party sizes. For appetizers we ordered the filet bruschetta and the calamari. The calamari was from the thick part of the calamari and was very very tender. It came with two dipping sauces - we preferred the non-marinara sauce. The filet bruschetta was excellent. Next, we ordered two side salads - one house and one Caesar. They came on cold plates which was a nice touch. For entrees, my fiancée ordered the filet which came over a sauce and with mashed potatoes on the side. For those that don't like sauces, I'm sure you can order it without. The steak and potatoes were excellent. I ordered the ribeye with the potatoes au gratin. The steak came topped with two jumbo shrimp. The potatoes came out bubbling in their own bowl on the plate. The steak was perfectly seasoned and Had a nice wood flavor. Unfortunately, we were so full that we couldn't finish our entrees - having them for breakfast this morning was a nice treat. Lastly, the service that we received was top notch. Read the reviews expected better. I had ribs and au gratin potatoes which were not cooked. Ribs were good a little tough, crunchy potatoes. The table also had blackened salmon it was ok nothing to write home about. We ordered a side of asparagus which was not cooked at all crunchy and tough. My husband got the cordon blue which he said was ok. The restaurant was very warm for a 96 degree day if was really warm inside. The waiter was rather curt and short not very inviting at all. Stopped in here for brunch before catching my flight home. What a great place to relax and have a bite. Dark wood and lighting inside make it a good spot for any occasion. The staff is friendly and attentive. They had a jazz guitarist and bass player performing while I was there. Don't know if this is a regular thing but it's a nice touch. The food is amazing too. Where has this place been hiding all my life! Absolutely delicious. I loved how the menu was short and simple. I ordered Grapevine Queen bee for a drink and a spinach strawberry salad to start off with. The drinks were really good very refreshing and the salad very fresh. This was my fourth visit over the past two years. A go to place for lunch whenever I come to north Texas. It has been consistently good. Today I had the crab cakes over red pepper puree and basil olive oil. This is gluten free. There were three cakes. While on the appetizer side of the menu it was enough for me. Very tasty with a bit of spice in the crab cake. My daughter had the French dip which is a sliced beef sandwich on a French roll and served with au jus separately. Fries or salad on the side. The room is simply casual refinement. Very cozy while conveying a formal sense of warmth. I like the decor. There is a covered outdoor area as well. Booths or tables are your choice. Came to Winewood for brunch on a Saturday around 1pm. It was a nice day outside so we requested outside seating and only waiting about 10 min max. It wasn't too packed and it was great. Loved the ambience! I got the avocado Benedict and it was delicious. Portion was just right and the potatoes were amazing! They were not greasy or soggy, which usually I feel like they are in other places. My sister had the crab and lobster Benedict and it was also great, not too fishy. My other friend had the chicken waffles and it was the perfect combo of spicy and sweet. We had mimosas, which are $3! Or you can also get a carafe for $25. I came here for Sunday brunch with a friend. I must say the ambiance of this place is absolutely amazing. They have a waterfall WITH a gas fireplace on top! I love all the dark wood and how the very distinguished and inviting bar is in the center of the restaurant. There was a live jazz group playing there which was nice and it set the tone. We had a reservation so there was no wait at all. I would encourage making a reservation here. I ordered the lobster and crab Benedict. I asked for my egg to be poached hard and for the hollandaise to be on the side (I am not a big fan of hollandaise). The food was wonderful. I also had a sangria to go with my meal. They are $3 per glass! My friend enjoyed their meal as well. She had a pan seared pecan-crusted trout with a sauce drizzled on her top. Asparagus and green beans were her vegetables. Excellent lamb chops. EXCELLENT. This place is known for their fine dining and steaks but with the lamb they serve you cannot go wrong. Order it as it comes in the menu with the potatoes and brussel sprouts. The Brookey dessert is also a must ,to go along with the lamb chops. The crowd is older at this place (45+) and even if you sit at the bar, there are only 2 TVs up with not so great views but this is a place you go to have a good glass of wine and great food. The mojito is was damn good too. Not badly priced here and the service was great. I'd give it $$$ here, not the $$ as published. This place looked like one from the pictures and the ambience, decor and service match that for sure. They have an extensive selection of bourbons, scotches and tequilas, wines as well as creative cocktails. All of their food is very good to excellent. My friends and I especially liked the fried calamari (strips not rings), fresh oysters, and crab cakes. The Chilean sea bass and beef ribs were very good. The strip steak was not to my liking. The bacon-wrapped green beans were surprisingly spicy. Decided to try another new place for us. The dinner menu is a little pricey for our taste so sitting at the bar (which we love to do) and enjoying 25% off appetizers during happy hour (3 to 7 pm) is our best option. Their specialty cocktails are $5 along with house wine and wells. I had the Lemon Drop (very good) and my husband had the Whiskey Smash (loved it). We had the Spinach Dip and Lump Crab Cakes. So it's been a little scary going out to eat since COVID-19 changed the world but I figured I'd try Winewood and they did not disappoint! I was greeted with a masked but very friendly host that showed us to our booth the interior was very nice with a fireplace and super pretty waterfall I ordered a whiskey smash that was perfect and I love how they use the sonic ice lol it didn't water my drink down at all! I ordered the lobster and shrimp ravioli and it was really decadent and had plenty of seafood in it too! I think it is safe to say my boyfriend and I have found our new brunch home here. They serve brunch until 4 which is perfect for my kid free, heathen self. Also, $10 bottomless mimosas! I found Winewood on Open Table but did not need a reservation here whatsoever for Sunday brunch. We got there a little after 1pm so maybe we missed the rush? As another Yelper said, it has an upscale feel without the pretense. We sat at our usual spot anywhere we go, the bar. Although, I wish we had sat outside. I did not notice they had more TVs out there until after we were already settled inside. For some odd reason my boyfriend likes to stare at a screen and eat instead of daze into my eyes and tell me how much he loves me over and over. :-P There was also two classy dudes playing jazz music on the keyboard and saxophone the whole time which was a cute touch. Hats off to them for waking up extra early on Sunday Funday to come play music for us when they could have been sleeping in or throwing back some bloody marys. Again, $10 bottomless mimosas!! Need I say more?? They do not come in those puny flute glasses either. They are more of an XL wine glass (I posted a pic of us and our mimosas in case you were curious.) IMO, flute glasses make it harder on the server because they have to constantly refill our mimosa more often. I can toss back a drink in a flute in two gulps! (Sorry not sorry I do not sip like a lady.) They do not hold back on the champagne in the mimosas either, and NO ICE to water it down like some other places we have been to. Okay, enough with the mimosas I am obviously ecstatic about, and onto our meals... I had the Brioche Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It came with skillet potatoes and fresh fruit. The cinnamon crunch on the french toast was divine. It did not get as soggy as it could have after the syrup soaked in. I will never complain when my french toast has fruit and whipped cream on top! The skillet potatoes were white and purple with red and green bell peppers mixed in. Perfectly seasoned. I cannot figure out why I have not thought to make potatoes like this before at home, but I am now! Love, love, loved the fresh fruit. Most other places will give you cantaloupe, melon, and maybe some grapes or strawberries. Winewood had mango, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, orange slices, and topped off with walnut poppy seed yogurt. I devoured mine and even finished my boyfriend's. My boyfriend had the chicken fried ribeye. Yes, I said RIBEYE. Holy cholesterol, we were seriously regretting never having it before! Perfection on a plate. He always seems to complain when we go out to eat that his entree portions are never filling. He could not even finish his plate here! I was in F.W. on business several weeks ago, and a local friend treated me to dinner at Winewood Grill. I was just off the plane, and feeling a little underdressed for the establishment, but it turned out to be a really great experience! My friend ordered a plate of calamari for the table, which was mouthwateringly divine. I started with one of my favorites, caprese salad. Also equally delicious. My main course was the 14oz. Ribeye, which was grilled to perfection and topped with the most palate pleasing shrimp and decadent rosemary blue cheese sauce. And the potatoes au gratin side, HUGE! I barely put a dent in it. The service was also remarkable, as was the atmosphere. And though I felt a tad underdressed at first, it turned out to be a very comfortable environment. I will definitely visit Winewood Grill again, next time I'm in Fort Worth! read more

I love winewood for what it is - a better than normal restaurant for the area! There are no shortages of steak and fish places in this area, but they do a great job with various types of innovative dishes. I have been here for dinner around a dozen times and for brunch twice. I will say that the brunch is where it's at! Their brunch is so yummy and fun, plus they have some fantastic coffee drinks. The latte and cappuccino are definitely great. Great food, great wine and great atmosphere. I came for lunch and it did not disappoint. I hear it's typically not crowded and this time was no different. It's nice not having to talk loudly over the volume of a busy restaurant. I ordered the lobster and shrimp ravioli with a side of saffron risotto. The risotto was by far my favorite item because 1. Saffron 2. Risotto haha but seriously it was delicious. Highly recommend it. The ravioli was good. The sauce is cooked with the lobster I assume and the amount of lobster was what I expected. Not a ton but sufficient. The shrimp was good and topped the dish off nicely. I also had a dessert platter. That includes a brookie, a slice of key lime pie, a lemon cake slice and an opera cake slice. The brookie was among the most liked one from everyone at the table and its essentially a brownie with a cookie cooked on the inside. The key lime was good and very tart. The opera cake was crispy and good but probably my least favorite. The lemon cake was very nicely tart and sweet. I did come with a large group of at least 14 and unfortunately our waitress was not good at all. 6 of us ordered wine off the bat and then she failed to ask anyone else what to order. She did bring out water for everyone so at least there's that but I did have to ask for a beer list twice before receiving it and I saw other people at the table flagging her down for drinks as well. I get that having a large table can be difficult but she didn't have any other tables. Also when my coworker asked for a sauce for her ravioli that was vegetarian she did not make much effort offering her options. In fact we had to suggest to her a sauce that was on another coworkers dish and then she brought it out. Regardless of the subpar service I will be coming back. read more

I think I picked a great (slow) sunday to try winewoods brunch! They have bottomless champagne mimosas for $10 bucks! $3 bloodmarys! And Dollar peach bellini! I had a Bloody Mary and a few Bellinis! They were amazing! My two girlfriends got the mimosas and said they were very strong! For my entrée I got the poached crab and lobster eggs Benedict... It was extremely good!!! My only complaining is the English muffin wasn't toasted. Also came with a side of home style potatoes and seasonal fruit with poppyseed dressing... I gave my fruit to a friend bc I'm allergic, she said it was very good. We sat and talked for a few hours... Never felt rushed or like we were taking up a table. Winewood is a great restaurant. The food if flavorful and fresh. Good assortment of dishes. We ordered salads for lunch recently and they were all delicious. California Cobb, Hearty Market Blend and the Flame Kissed Tuna. The apricot infused iced tea is great too. When I went for dinner recently, we ordered the Tenderlion Bruschetta and the Seared Ahi for appetizers. The bruschetta is to die for. Just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. We also ordered the Scottish Salmon, Crab Cakes and the Ribeye Filet. None disappointed. I recommend Winewood for both a delicious lunch and dinner. I have been to Winewood twice now. Once for brunch and again today for lunch and I can say that I think lunch was better. Brunch was so so. I had the chicken and waffles and my friend and I shared the tenderloin bruschetta and while the chicken and waffles did not impress, the tenderloin bruschetta was amazing. The steak was very tender and it wasn't messy to eat. My friend has the chicken fried steak and she let me try it and it was just ok. Today for lunch it was a different experience. Our waiter was as probably the best I have had in a while. You could tell he loved his job for sure. I wish that my husband talked to me the same way this guy described the days specials. Lmao you could really tell what he liked. I was pretty easy this time trying the Monterey Turkey Sandwich and it was really good. Perfect for lunch as it was not too heavy. I was so curious about this place & have been for a while! The ambience is awesome & sets the tone for a nice date night. Wine by the fire...I mean can you really go wrong? I've tried the gouda mac w/ bacon & while it sounds decadent really it is not. I just felt like something was missing. The seared ahi tuna starter also is just OK. The sweet spicy chili sauce on top was tasty though. Food is alright but the atmosphere is on point. Perhaps the brunch here is the real winner. Honestly, not very pleased with my experience here. I came here last Friday night with a group of women. I truly appreciated that they took reservations but that is where the good experience pretty much ended. Parking was a nightmare, legitimately. Horrible horrible. I don't like being forced to use valet, and I was lucky to find a spot after awhile. The waiter was good, and came right over to me when I got in a little later than the rest of my table. The sangria I would say was fabulous and the best part of the dinner and only $10 for the glass. However, the food sucked- hardcore sucked. I got the filet and substituted the Mac and Cheese for the mashed potatoes because I heard they were good. The steak was fatty and tasteless, only the glaze gave it a little more pizazz. The Mac and cheese was bland bland bland. It had bacon in it which I expected to make it taste better but it gave it nothing extra. I wound up spending $60 on a completely lacking meal. I think Winewood has a bit of an identity crisis going on - it looks like a fancy restaurant, with its dark wood interior (complete with open fireplace), but it seems to also present itself as a more casual dining experience (apparent from the people in tees and flip flops). We started with the crab cakes and spinach dip. While I did like how the spinach dip wasn't too salty, the chips it was served with tasted a bit cardboard-y. I was not impressed with the crab cakes. The side Caesar salad was a good size for the price. The entrees and the service were what bumped this place up in stars for me. Service was excellent - our server was knowledgeable about the menu and wine, and they were pretty accommodating for the vegetarian in our group, making her a vegetable plate that wasn't on the dinner menu. The rest of us carnivores seemed to be satisfied with our meat entrees. My ribeye was cooked to my liking, with the right amount of seasoning. Don't get the sauce - it's pretty much like a glorified A1. The meat is better on its own. It also comes with two giant, perfectly cooked shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes (they're mashed potatoes...how can you go wrong?) I tried a bite of the filet - super tender - as well as the pork chop - I personally wasn't a fan of the sweet/sour sauce, but others at the table seemed to enjoy it and it was quite tender. After all that meat, we still saved room for dessert, settling on red velvet cake (typical and tasty), cheesecake (crust a little on the sweeter/butterier side), and breadpudding (delightfully warm and cinnamony). Winewood is located in a hoppin' part of Grapevine - by the time we left our early Saturday dinner, the parking lot was packed and people were circling for spots like hungry wolves (they probably were hungry, after all). It's tucked behind Bob's and Fireside Pies, so you can circle to the back of the parking lot and park closer. read more
