Two Carolina traveling couples looking to find good food, good wine (drinks) and a good time. We were not disappointed as we found it all here. Were introduced to a new drink "The Don" that combines a Sangria with a shot of apple vodka. This was a great starter drink. We ordered their brick oven Pizza and it was fantastic. After dinner we sat in the bar area and listened to good music played by a local performer. Simply a fun and memorable night out for a few travelers. Highly recommend and make certain you ask for "THE DON"!!! read more

Visiting Niagara Falls from Maryland we were trying desperately to find a great place for dinner, something we could bring our teens to and enjoy great food and great atmosphere. We found it at Wine on Third!! Great food, amazing service, beautiful small restaurant that you could easily miss if you were walking too fast down 3rd Street. A must visit for anyone! We loved it after a long day from hitting all the amazing sights of Niagara Falls!! read more

My only complaint was their website stated that they open at 3, so we were waiting outside a bit until they informed us they would be open only at 4. We went back to the hotel thinking to go some where else, but ended up going back and we were happy that we did. We had a brick oven pizza which was very good along with some local draft beers. There was plenty of free street parking. If you are from out of town you might want to plan your meal options ahead of time. Some of the of smaller places close at 6 and the big restaurants have mediocre to poor ratings. This is place I would go again when we visit the area in the future. read more

Horrible service food looked got but never had a chance to order bartenders walk by you and purposely turn their head to ignore you like you are a beggar and not a paying customer read more

Me and my wife absolutely loved this place. We went a few days ago during covid and really enjoyed our selves. Unfortunately we did not try the food which looked amazing but we did however try the wine.. three bottles of it! Bar tenders were very friendly and hospitable. Restaraunt was clean and sanitized, prices were fair even the top shelf options, we will deffinitly be back! read more

Stopped by on a road trip. Fantastic food and service. Neighborhood feel where you are instantly welcomed. Is it noisy? Yes! Because everyone is instantly family. If it's Friday. You get to see Norma who is an extra A. Yeah, it's that friendly. read more

Oh so this *is* a tapas bar??? After our experience we questioned whether their focus was their entrees, because the appetizers/shared plates were somewhat lacking. The quality of the food was not the worst. In fact, the coconut shrimp was very good. And the mac n cheese was heavenly. But the portions here in relation to the price is pretty surprising. We came in with a table of four and ordered a bunch of shared plates. Yet the waiter failed to mention that a couple had only 3 pieces (for ~$10+ in some cases). When we received our Mediterranean sampler I almost laughed at the amount of hummus and sides we received. I understand small portions for high prices when the quality is out of this world. But that wasn't the case here. The beef tips were tough and the other appetizers were simply "okay" (except I did really love the mac n cheese!!). The ambiance is nice and the service was very good. I just take issue with high prices with small portions of less-than-excellent food. read more

I rarely write reviews but had to after spending a wonderful evening here with my wife. We were visiting Niagara Falls, NY for a weekend away and asked a few locals about a great place to relax and eat. They all recommended Wine on Third. So we gave it a shot. The location is easy to get to as the name suggests. It is on Third St. We did not make reservations and the dinning room was full. They suggested that we pick a table in the bar area. There were a few inviting tables near the front with red leather chairs, low tables and candle lit. It was just right for the mood we were in. Right away, we were welcomed by a gentleman with menu's from Wine on Third and their sister restaurant next door that serves hand made pizzas. A minute later, we were welcomed by Alysha (sorry if I misspelled your name). She was vibrant and friendly as well as knowledgeable. We started with a Sam Adams Winter Ale and my wife had the 3 Girls Pinot Noir. Both were fantastic. They had a 20 ft chalk wall behing the bar with 50+ wines. The decor was warm and the music was live. We started by ordering the Saganaki (flaming cheese on a hot lava rock) and the scallops. Both were perfect. The scallops were tender and spicy kale was spicy. The Saganaki was savory and fun to eat. We were going to order a meal but the tapas were so wonderful, we continued on. Second were the Mussels and Spicy Shrimp Risotto. The mussels were again cooked perfectly with fresh tomato and green onion tossed on after it was plated for a fresh appeal. The shrimp were once again cooked well and my wife said the risotto was the best she had. All this time, we were checked on by Alysha as she continued to be helpful and a perfect compliment to the evening. We finally finished off the evening with the cheesecake which was creamy and rich as one would expect in NY. Every bite was great, the service was top notch, wine selection was on point, live music set the mood, and the locals recommend it. We WILL be going back in the spring. Thank you! read more

This place is tops in ambience, food, wine & beer. Really, really, really. Visiting family from NYC. Rivals UWS establishments. Decor is terrific. Can't say enough how much we enjoyed our evenings last night and tonight here. Run, don't walk to this great place. read more

OMG PHENOMENAL. Great customer service, great wine selection, and the food tasted wonderful. I got the perch (fish) and my sister got the penne pasta, both were so delicious! Only negative part was one guy was running the whole floor (ie he was the bartender, waiter, server, etc). Though he was absolutely amazing, we had to wait a bit for our food. But it was worth the wait!! read more

We were on vacation in Niagra area. So many places, so busy. Just the 2 of us so we took a chance. I guess you would say it's located in the downtown area. Nice setting. We sat inside. Drinks ok. Meal all came at once. Nothing mentioned about that. It was good. We both had the steak and risotto. Mine very good, husbands lots of grizzle. I might give it another try. read more

I went out to Wine on Third to see Honest Penny play this past Saturday night. They play there every other Saturday - good folk-rock music done by an acoustic duo. Definitely two thumbs up for Joe and Jackie. But this review isn't about music. It is about a classy little bistro in the heart of Niagara Falls that has the foresight to bring this entertainment into its confines. Wine on Third. With an incredible selection of wines, if you are a wine connoisseur or just a fan of wine and want to try something new, head to Wine on Third. Now, I didn't try the food while I was there, but I saw plenty of it. It smelled amazing, and the presentations were fantastic. Maybe in two more weeks when Honest Penny plays there again, I will give the menu a try and revise my review. As far as wine goes, the selection is excellent and the service, superb. Just what you would expect from a small, locally owned, high-end establishment. Yes, the wine can be pricey, but for the price you do have an amazing selection of wines by the glass to try, and the pours are generous. I definitely recommend Wine on Third, especially if you're looking for a nice, mellow and sophisticated evening out. read more

We came here based on yelp reviews! Also thanks to a review dated only 6 days prior, we were able to snag a great Groupon deal! Saved $25. Which was really helpful. The meal was expensive! The portions are small and expensive, so grab the Blue Cheese Bruschetta. It was delicious. We were served ciabatta bread too. It really helped full us up in preparation for the tiny portions. Haha. But our meals were great. I had the Airline Chicken and my boyfriend had the Seabass. The atmosphere was romantic but casual. It was really nice. We had a glass of wine and enjoyed the snowy view outside. Definitely happy we tried this place! read more

This is a great little wine bar and restaurant in Niagara Falls. They have yummy small plates, appetizers, salads, and main dishes. I had a personal margarita & pesto pizza that had buffalo mozzarella on it!!!! Having just traveled to Italy and discovered buffalo mozzarella, I wondered if you could get it anywhere around Buffalo or Niagara Falls. Found some!!! The server said they get it from a local supplier. The blue cheese iceberg wedge was huge, and the dressing was homemade. Very large wine selection. Nice atmosphere and bar area. Separate room for dining. Outdoor seating... Cool! They had live music- a young girl singing and playing acoustic guitar. They had it pumped through speakers outdoors too. She took a request, and seemed very sweet. It was enjoyable listening to her play. I would definitely go back! read more

This is a classy downtown establishment. Great food, great drinks, great ambiance, great time. I don't drink wine, and they still have plenty of options for me. The owners are also great community members and neighbors, supporting local arts through musical performances, art shows, fashion shows, and more. The staff is also very professional, respectful and knowledgeable about their product. I would encourage both residents and visitors alike to check this place out. read more

Visiting from out town and so happy we found this gem. Want great atmosphere and food? Look no further..

Server was very friendly and personable. Pizza was good. Decent wine selection. Nice casual atmosphere.

The wine was delish. The wedge salad was delish. And that is about all of the good things I can say. The service was slow; he finally took our drink order after about 5 minutes. We got our drinks and he took our dinner order. It took about 20 minutes for the wedge salads to come out. Our dinners finally came about 20 more minutes after that. My date ordered a wood fired pizza (the bourbon chicken) and I order what was supposed to be chicken piccata. It was not. The linguine noodles were not cooked all the way. The piccata sauce was olive oil and about 6 capers and the chicken was deep fried chicken fingers. This is not chicken piccata. The pizza was good but not great. It had good flavor and but the toppings were scarce. The server never checked up on us after delivering our food. He never asked us if we wanted more beverages. I was out of wine and water. I had to get up to ask him for the check and boxes. After he brought said boxes and check we then waited another 10 minutes or so for him to wring the card through. I know restaurants can have a bad night but it is not a good sign when the dish described on the menu is not what was actually served. We will not be back. read more

Very pleasant stop for cool crisp wine and cold local beer on tap. Dog friendly outside seating hit the spot on a beautiful night! Tuna Shashimi (sic) tapas plate was exactly what we were hoping for. Waiters were friendly, quick and attentive. Freshly watered dog felt welcome and gives the classy corner two paws up! read more

First off, Wine on Third has become a trio, the wine bar, fine dining restaurant, and the newer, pizza bistro. I've had great wine and tapas in the wine bar, but this review centers on the fabulous Pizza Bistro. We were there around 5pm on a Saturday. No one else around. Waitress was wonderfully attentive and chatty, but not in a bothersome way. The selection of pizza was modest. We decided on the goat cheese and vegetable, as well as the shrimp fra d'avolo and the rigatoni. Pizza was heavenly. Perfect balance of cheese and veggies. I simply don't have one bad thing to say. Just wish it was bigger! Rigatoni and meatballs were great. The shrimp dish was spicy spicy, shrimp was done well. It was served over polenta, which could have used seasoning, as it didn't add to the dish. Tiramisu was fabulous,as was the giant cream puff for dessert. Will return in a heartbeat! read more

My friend was in town and was staying in Niagara Falls, so we came here for dinner based on all the great Yelp reviews. They were busy for a Monday night. The food was good, but I thought it was a little pricey. I got the steak frites, my friends got the chicken sandwich and salmon. Everyone enjoyed their food. Since the restaurant name is Wine on Third, they have a wide selection of wine. I am not a big wine drinker, so I got a Sangria. Overall, it was a good dinning experience. I would come back if I am I the area but I wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant. This restaurant is a great option in Niagara Falls because I never know where to take out of town visitors when we visit area. read more

Wine on Third Restaurant and Bar - Bar area - Wine Bars Near Me - Niagara Falls, New York

So, arriving in Niagara Falls and looking for a wine bar lead me to Wine on Third. A great selection of wines, decent on beer and not so on single malt scotches -- but hey it is a wine bar.... The Sheraton concierge described it as "excellent". But, I cannot give it that rating. Good, bit inspired, but not great. Atmosphere: 4+ stars. It has a bit of a cosy romantic vibe, lots of deuces, and subdued lighting Service: 2 stars. They were friendly and polite enough. I agree with other reviewers-- they seem like they could give a dam if you were there or not. One of the guests at the bar waited over 25 min for extra bread while her meal got cold. Then another 20 min before she was asked if she wanted a refill on her beer! That is alcohol abuse -- not serving it in a timely manner to a thirsty and deserving customer. The bar tender could have upsold me to a port after dinner with my dessert if he had carried to ask. Food: 4 stars. I had the Greek inspired Saganaki. The presentation was wonderful (see my picture), but the blandness of the dish became quite evident. I've had kasseri cheese before -- smothering warm pastrami -- and was used to the flavor and texture. The cheese was too mild for my taste, but worked as a neutral palate for the basil pesto (great), balsamic infused olive oil (bland) and sun-dried pesto (bland). A good touch of salt to the condiments really helped (not a big salt eater). I also had the bacon meatballs, which were over cooked and a bit dry. The bacon was a good flavor edition to this cheese smothered dish. Going a bit lighter on the cooking will keep these moist and not more flavorful. Lastly, I had their Triple Chocolate Tuxedo Cake. Great dessert -- the cake part was dry, but the mousse parts (chocolate, dark chocolate and White chocolate) were delicious. Overall: 3.95 Stars -- darn Yelp doesn't rate that way.... But if you are in downtown Niagara Falls, there isn't much else the way of Wine Bars and this one is a good one to drink in.... read more

I had food delivered a steak and a burger and truffle fries my burger was raw like someone for real damn near put the raw slab of meat on the bun steak was shit and I didn't want cheese on the burger so I had to scrap it off then cook the 20 dollar burger my self so after trying to fix the burger it was greasy and gross I couldn't the truffle fries has no truffle and fake parm cheese and 15 dollars I would of thought I would get more truffle and real cheese but ok when I called I was told by the kid there was no one there that could help me and he didn't no what to do so I left my name and number so we will see what happens 90 dollars later read more

This wine bar is pretty good. Order a bottle so you know the wine your drinking is fresh. Ordered a chicken sandwich and fries and the chicken was slightly over cooked, fries were great and the meal pretty good overall. About a $15 order. My girlfriend ordered the salmon and I took a bite. Pretty tasty but a bit overpriced $23 with cauliflower. Jake did a fine job in letting me try two wines so that I could make a good selection by glass or bottle. The other waiter was also very responsive. read more

We came here on the strength of other Yelp reviews and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived, the bar area was full and there was live music. We were seated in the adjacent dining room which had only two other tables seated. We ordered: zucchini fries, blue cheese fries, mac and cheese, caesar salad, seafood risotto, and a veggie panini. Don't be put off by the surrounding area, the service and quality of food were very good. read more

Fantastic restaurant, great ambiance. Brought my gf here while vacationing. The food was fantastic, and, because we went on a Sunday, any glass of wine from an opened bottle $5. The waiter was personable and knowledgable. Very fun My only reason I am not giving five stars is that during off season, which lasts until June, wine on third doesn't offer it's tapas menu. It had a gourmet pizza menu, and the food was great, but no where on it's website does it tell the consumers that the tapas menu is unavailable read more

Came here for nosh supper on our camping overnight in Niagara KOA. Feels good, not too fancy, and seems to be bright spot on an otherwise desolate block. Maître d is welcoming and accommodating. We didn't do an entree but instead did 2 small plates and 2 shared plates plus each got French onion soup. I recommend the beef sticks, the blue cheese bruschetta (the salad that comes with is addictive), the roasted veg risotto. My husband enjoyed the beef and bacon meatballs (I thought they were dry). Wine list is solid--they offer an unoaked Chardonnay which many places do not carry. French onion soup is nice and peppery. I thought this was a great place for both tourists and locals and would come back to try different plates if we were staying longer. read more

This pizza was the absolute best pizza I have ever ate before! We got the margarita pizza and the goat cheese and veggie pizza. My personal favorite was the goat cheese pizza, but both were amazing! Also you must try the dessert! We had the apple cake! It was so amazing we hunted down the bakery to go get more goodies the next day! The only reason I leave a 4 star review is because the service was pretty slow, but it was a very relaxed fun atmosphere. read more

My fiancé and I chose this location for dinner after reading the positive reviews. We were seated and handed a menu right away. That was the only positive part of this experience. There was another family that had finished their food and waited for at least 30 minutes or so (there were only three families there at this time, two of us were couples) to pay for their food. They had to go in to look for someone and still waited. About 40 minutes into our wait- no water even, another family showed up and were seated right away. The waitress didn't even acknowledge us until we addressed her to see if we could be served. We decided to walk out. Neither of us have ever done that before. I've also have never had to leave a bad review. I'm not even sure if the food or wine is good but the service was awful. It was very disappointing. I would not recommend based on service alone. We did however go to the bar across the street and had excellent service and food! read more

My boyfriend and I were in town and wanted a tapas style restaurant for dinner. I found a restaurant.com certificate for this place and read the reviews and went for it. We made a reservation on open table but the place wasn't that packed for a Wednesday night. We were seated immediately and served by the nicest woman, I don't think we caught her name. We ordered the truffle fries, meatballs, steak on weeks, and pepper cakes and loved all of it. Highly recommend this place for the service and food. read more

My breakfast pizza was awesome and way bigger than I needed, but I ate all of it anyway because I wanted my friends to think I was a badass. They didn't charge me for my delicious iced tea. The waiters kept forgetting things and being really funny about it, and gave lots of sweet recommendations for places to eat, although Mondays are questionable around here. There were no dogs, but I feel like if I had my dog, they would go to great lengths to help me keep him there. A window cleaner came in in the middle and they were so nice at turning him away that I could swear I was in the Midwest. read more

Perhaps this place suffered in ranking a little because of where it is located (Niagara Falls is like a ghost town). Perhaps it was the slow service. Or perhaps it was the average food. Either way, it was an experience that left me with more questions than answers. For example, why did I have to go to the bar to order when I was sitting at a table in the dining room? Yeah, weird. I'm not going to even spend any time on the food as it was a forgettable experience. I do remember having a tasty local brew, but that was the only highlight of this adventure. Next time around, I'll likely head back over the Canadian border to see if the ghost town environment has avoided the other side of the falls. read more

Great food. We got Buffalo wings, the gnocchi, steak, Italian pizza, and salmon risotto. Everything was excellent, and the wine was fantastic. One of the juiciest and most flavorful steaks I've had. NOT a place for tapas though - not sure why they are categorized as such. read more

The spicy shrimp that was the chef's special of the night was great. Just spicy enough and a touch of sweet. I highly recommend it read more

My wife and I were in Niagara Falls for two nights and, not being big fans of Indian food or the same TGIFridays and Hard Rock fare you can get anywhere we figured we would stop here the first night for a bite and some wine since there really aren't many other options. Well, the food was INCREDIBLE. So good in fact that we went back the second night. As pescetarian see don't eat meat other than fish, and there were so many options. The mahi mahi tacos, vegetarian quesadilla, Mediterranean plate and sweet and spicy shrimp with risotto were all positively delicious. The only downfall was that because they serve Not Your Father's Root beer we never got around to sampling their wine or voluminous mixed drink selection. If I'm ever back in Niagara Falls this will be a sure stop. read more
