Wine & Design in Apex moved next door to the old location. I like the new space better. The layout allows all seats to have a good view of the artist. As I forgot to get a photo when I arrived, the class was full so I couldn't get the layout too well. I will try to get a better shot next time. I'd been to the old location before the pandemic and got excited during the pandemic when to go kits were offered as we couldn't paint in person but could order a kit with canvases and paints and brushes. Then pick them up from the sidewalk. Virtual classes are offered as well so you could paint with friends and relatives all over the country if you wanted. Some classes are being taught outside under a gazebo too. I booked my class a few months out as I am still healing from a shoulder injury and thought I'd be good by July. But I managed to get another injury in the meantime. So I did my best and Bethany made the afternoon fun and was very helpful with how to hold the paintbrush to get the paint stroke desired. Fun place, even better people! I love going to and doing workshops with Shelly from Wine & Design Apex!! She's creative and always tries new things to make the experience more fun and full of value. Her craft classes are creative (even though I'm biased to the candle making class! ) and she never stops thinking about ways to elevate the business. Plus, her staff is fantastic. Last nights class with Elaine was great because she's such a good teacher and makes sure that above everything else, people leave happy and satisfied. A group of us from work went to Wine and Design in Apex for team-building. I was excited since it was my first time and for a few in the group as well. When we got there our instructor had already set the the tone that we needed to finish by a certain time because she needed to be at another Wine and Design location. We felt rushed, many of us could not keep up with her instructions. We chose the sunflower which was more for an advanced class (instructor even told us). It would've been nice if they had categorized the paintings by beginners, intermediate and advanced. We didn't get to finish, needless to say. Don't bother bringing wine you won't have time to drink it or enjoy. For the price they charge, go to Michaels get your materials and have a Wine and Design at home with your friends without being rushed. read more

Five star, five star!! I've been wanting to try Wine and Design for such a long time and I am so glad I finally took their class! Of course, since I am a crazy dog mom, I did Paint your pet class and seriously, IT WAS THE BEST!!! My friend and I registered a week before our class and sent our pet pictures to Apex Wine and Design. First of all, big shout out to Craig, who photoshopped my dog's picture. He did such an amazing job- when I got there and saw the canvas with my dog's picture on it, all I could do was AWWWWW!! After we got seated, our teacher Bethany walked us through what we were going to do, what to expect, etc. I gotta tell you, they were so prepared, they really did wow me- color printed pictures of our pets, paints we were going to use, several brushes, clean water... you tell me, everything was on the table waiting for me. I mean for a beginner like me, that was a huge surprise and it made me feel better. Like ok, I think I can do it! Also, the class was really easy to follow. Bethany did such an awesome job and she taught us how to do it literally step by step. Whenever we had questions, people just raise their hand and she would come over and help us. I loved the fact that she did not rush us, she told us to make sure we take our time and actually like our painting. Our class actually lasted longer than it was supposed to but Bethany didn't mind at all and helped everybody till the end. She was so professional and I could tell she loves what she does! I got SO many compliments on my painting and now I have to go back for my other dog! I probably will never go to other locations just because I absolutely loved Bethany's class. If you are looking for a fun ladies/friends night or heck, datenight, I highly recommend Wine and Design. It's SO worth it and you can come home with your amazing masterpiece! read more

We did the $25 take home kits that are currently being offered due to COVID. I had a cousin visiting from out of town and this was the perfect little girls' night activity for my sister, cousin, and I. Kits comes with the outlined canvas, paint, brushes, a mixing plate, paper towels, and basic directions. I set up a little studio for us in my kitchen, and Wine & Design even let me borrow some tabletop easels, so it really felt like the real experience. We had a lot of fun and definitely recommend it. Had such a fun time at Wine and Design last night, Anna Lisa was the instructor and she was instructing two different paintings during the session but did an incredible job with guiding us. First time going to a place like this and overall I had a good time! I did a lot better than I thought I would with my painting and the instructor was very helpful. However I was not fond of the way the instructor talked to my friend a few times throughout the session. She got behind and I sensed irritation in the instructors tone. I felt as if the instructor talked to her as if she were a child. Something along the lines of when I'm using my loud voice you should stop and watch what I'm doing so you don't get confused. It happened a few times and it bothered me. I am unaware if my friend noticed or not but looking back I feel guilty for not saying anything. Point blank, if people have questions you should answer them without attitude. That's just my 2 cents. Love this place. I went being worried I would end up with a mess(I can do lots of crafts, but painting is not one),I ended up leaving with a beautiful piece. I have it hanging on my wall. I was always a fan of the Cary Wine & Design and was excited to hear the owners were opening up a studio in Apex. The new studio is beautiful. It's got a great location in a shopping center filled with dinner options. The manager is a joy to work with on the phone. Sarah Grace is awesome! I love that it kept all the things I loved from Cary (instructors, owners, customer service) and added on a polished, stylish spacious studio space.
