Looking for a creative outlet, Color Me Mine may be your spot. I attended a "Ladies Beach Night" and it was loads of fun. Grab some girlfriends, snacks and drinks and head on over. I love that they have themed nights so check the calendar for themes and discounts. After you get settled, choose your pottery and get to painting. There's so many wonderful things to choose from, but they aren't cheap. The regular small bowls were $25. So prepare accordingly. The workers were friendly and extremely helpful. They will answer any questions and help you as you need it. After you paint, you'll have to wait a few days to pick up your masterpiece. Color Me Mine is a great way to get your creative fix on. We used to come here all the time because it's a great place to go especially on a rainy day with kids to just do something different and be creative. I did not feel that the owner nor the staff is very engaging. For a place that is run off of children and families. You would think they'd be more family, friendly, attentive, helpful, fun. The last few times we were there we felt like there were too many rules and the atmosphere is just blah. I also feel the price is just way too high. I don't mind paying for paint and pottery, but the sitting fee is ridiculous. This makes a huge difference when you have a large group. read more

This place is so cool!! Me and me friends decided to go here and do something different. They were very crowded, we tried to reserve space beforehand but didn't see an option on the website, so we had a 2 hour wait. Which we didn't mind at all since it's near restaurants and not too far from Fenton. Once we got there, we picked out what we wanted and our colors and spent our time painting and talking, it was so much fun!! They didn't rush us either, we were worried about taking too much time but they didn't bother us about that, which we appreciated. We already made a plan to go back and paint more things! read more

My daughter recently had a small birthday party there and the staff were amazing and very accommodating to all who visited. We were able to bring our own food that we know our kids and friends would actually eat and cake and they already music going so that's a plus. Overall a great experience. read more

I simply don't understand the mediocre reviews for this site. My partner and I went to this site today and found them to be more than helpful. I have been to one of the sites rated highly on this site and the service was not nearly as helpful as Color Me Mine. I can only assume that those who gave a poor rating caught them on an off day or things have changed. What I experienced was the opposite of the poor reviews. The staff was attentive and more than polite. There were four young women working there and all of them were polite to a fault and were johnny on the spot with additional paint when needed. In fact when I asked for suggestions they brought examples to our table to show us what certain styles would look like. It's almost as if they are talking about another place. read more

The staff was very attentive to make sure I had the right colors, but I had enough of the paint I needed, and if I was trying to do something special they were really nice and showed me how to do it. We were looking for a unique venue for a bridal shower and Color Me Mine was just the place. We brought our beverages, snacks, decorations, suggested patterns, and a plan of how we wanted the shower to flow. It was perfect and all the folks working to help us were awesome. While Prosecco flowed, friends and family decorated dessert plates for the bride-to-be. After everyone painted their plates sentiments were written on the back of the plates. I'm new to the area and wanted to try out a unique activity with my daughter. This shop appeared to be a great place for that. I went recently on a Saturday, and it was quite busy. The staff was friendly and welcoming; even though they seemed a bit stressed. Which I understood because there was a lot going on. They have a great selection of ceramics, and paint/paint supplies. A young lady named Alex helped us out a lot. My daughter was nervous about picking her colors, and she was very patient and kind to her. We enjoyed our time there overall! read more

I'm a huge fan of hands-on stuff, and paint-your-own pottery has always been a favorite. Color Me Mine is hidden in Waverly Place (on the upper level, next to Whisk) and is easy to miss amid the many new shops coming to this plaza. There's always tons of parking upstairs and downstairs, and Waverly Place is just such a nice place to be. When you walk in the studio, there are about 8-10 tables that seat 4 at each, and there's also a large party room table for large groups in the back that seats up to 16. The staff is super friendly & help you explain the process. You pick your piece of pottery that you want to paint, and then you wash it off with water to remove debris. Once you pick your colors, brushes, or stencils/tape if you wish), you lay on 3+ coats of paint. After about a week, they'll have it fired & will call you with your masterpiece. The price is a little steeper than some other paint-your-own-pottery studios I've been to, but it's always worth it. You pay a $10 studio fee + the price of your pottery... but check out their event calendar, they always have cool theme nights (Ladies' Night on Tuesday with 1/2price studio fee) that add fun to your night. Please train your staff. This morning I called and asked if you take walk-in customers and if children are welcome. Your staff answered yes and yes and provided no other information. I loaded up my grandkids and drove 30 miles to your store. We walked in and were immediately told there would be a 1.5 hour wait even though half the tables were empty. We had no where to wait and my 3 yr. old granddaughter wouldn't tolerate a long delay. I told the staff we had driven 30 miles for this, and she responded she was sorry. So we left. I got home and opened the website and was shocked to learn you offer a take out service. Please teach your employees two things...1) warn walk-in customers they run a risk of having a long wait time unless they have a reservation (which I would have made if I had been offered the option), and 2) if a walk-in customer doesn't want to wait they can select items and you will provide them with all they will need to finish the art at home. If I had been informed of either of these things then my afternoon wouldn't have been wasted and you would have made a sale. Both of us lost today because your staff didn't know how to help me (or didn't bother to help me). I'm very disappointed I missed a great experience with my grandkids, and it could have been saved with just a little customer service. read more

Was here in October with one of my three daughters and had a really good time. Decided to make a reservation for myself and all my daughters during Christmas time. Watched the employee write the reservation down. We arrived and there was no reservation made in our name. Coincidently, the place now had a sign up that they will be closed to the public for a private event during the exact time of our reservation. Did they really just lose our reservation or just not care enough to call us and reschedule? So disappointed! read more

I SO enjoy going to Color Me Mine in Cary, NC. Every single time we are greeted at the door and the process is explained to us. The staff is extremely helpful and polite and great in offering suggestions. It's such a peaceful place to pause and enjoy life. It's brightly lit with huge windows, an added bonus to not be in a cramped, dark place. The only thing it lacks is a frequent customer program. Like other places, pottery painting can be costly if you go often. Lastly, though, there is one employee, out of the dozen or so I have met, that maybe ought not work there, but, that person is truly a thorn among the roses so give them a chance if you happen to have a sour customer service experience. read more

All I have to say is: horrible customer service. When we first stepped into the shop, it seemed like a friendly environment. However, the employees were terribly condescending. They didn't even let me get my own materials and I am an adult. Then, the staff carelessly made me give up my paints to the brats at their day camp. And on our way out, I was insulted by what seemed like the manager. She was very rude and unprofessional when she rang me up at the register. The only reason it's getting four, and the only reason I'm bothering to do a review is because the girls working didn't really have any customer service skills. They didn't let us know how it worked when we first walked in, they didn't tell us there was a separate studio fee (though we assumed there would be), they didn't tell us that we had to do each color in three layers so that the colors would turn out right, I mean they pretty much told us nothing and we learned all of this by over hearing them tell different customers, so they should really do a better job about explains the entire process to every customer that walks in. read more

Disgusting customer service. They yelled at me when there was an issue with the payment on their end. The employees keep hovering over you which was really annoying and takes away the art studio feeling. I told them I've been to another Color Me Mine location before and that location required the artists to get the paint themselves, but here, you have to consistently ask the employees, who were slow, to get paint for you as if you're a child. We had an appointment at a different painting store, but they were too packed. We decided to come here, and we're so glad we did. Much better atmosphere and roomier. The staff was very friendly and helpful running to get the assortment of colors for the kids. Price is a tad steep, but the kids throughly enjoyed themselves. Worst Color Me Mine I have EVER been to. The staff was very pushy and made the experience VERY uncomfortable. One of the ladies (who seemed like the manager) made comments to seem "hip/cool" but utterly failed and was just plain awkward. I'm not sure how other locations work, but at this location, you are forced to have them serve your, creating an environment where employees are hovering over your table almost every 5 minutes. For an establishment meant to serve as a creative space, it did feel restraining and intimidating to have them watch you paint and make a comment. My group experienced an issue with payment and was charged 3 separate times. When we confronted the lady about the issue, the lady who helped us was very defensive saying she was not at fault. Very upsetting being that my party was a group of adults. Mind you, we were the only people of color at the store on that day.... read more

We took our son to Donuts with Santa. The concept was great. The execution not so much. No one greeted us to tell us what to do. We had to ask. Upon discovery that our 3 yr old was expected to sit still and eat sugar for a half hour, we asked if we could paint a fire truck or some ornaments. We were told "no." So our son went to the outside playground until Santa arrived. Again, more waiting as Santa first painted his hand on 21 plates, then circled around again to sign each. So I asked again if we could paint some ornaments while we wait. Again told "no." So most of the kids moved outside until it was storytime. What a missed opportunity for this business to make additional revenue! We were told that we would get a call in 4-5 days to pick up the plate we made. The plate we wanted to use on Christmas Eve to put milk and cookies on for Santa. Well, it's Christmas Eve and we still have no plate. Worst experience ever. read more
