The venue was clean and spacious with so much room for the kids to be wild and free. Even air hockey for those of us not allowed to jump because we just had to age The staff were friendly and great with the kids. They took care of all of the set up. All you had to do was enjoy watching the kids run around smiling and laughing. They have a bin with your child's name on it for all gifts to go and they bring it all to the car and when you arrive they greet you with a cart and they bring everything in for you as well. They provided carts to carry all the stuff in and gave the birthday girl a little present. What a nice touch. I love that the jump room is designated for your child's party only. They assign a helper to the room and the helper even takes pictures for you and the pictures are displayed on the tv. How cool. We've been to several bday parties at Pump It Up and I knew the first time we went, that I wanted to have my twins party there! One of my sons is autistic and prone to eloping, making most trampoline parks a disaster for us. Pump It Up offers privacy and safety so that we could enjoy ourselves. My daughter had fun jumping around with her friends here for her birthday. However I'm assuming the name "Pump It Up" means pumping you for money. The concept is you enter. They take all your stuff for the party to set up in the party room themselves (goody bags, decorations, cake, etc) while your party jumps because there are other parties cycling through the party rooms. Well the place is managed by teens I'm assuming to keep labor costs low and maximize profit. My custom made (expensive) cake (aka not a Costco/Publix cake which are pretty pricey these days too) was tossed around and completely destroyed by the teen handling. Besides the cost, a major highlight of a 6 yro bday is the birthday cake-especially a pikachu cake! Pump It Up offered 1/2 reimbursement of what the cake costs to me. I did end up getting the full cost of the cake refunded after pressing but that does not replace the ruined experience for my daughter's birthday and memory. I also contacted the cake designer and she told me a customer of her's last week also had a cake dropped by Pump It Up. So not a one off but likely a habitual problem. If you want an overpriced birthday party and destroyed memories-definitely book your party here. Oh and they have the guests drop their gifts in a bin and put all the gifts in big bags like this is some kind of service to you. You are brought into a room with about three large inflatable bounce houses/slides/obstacle courses, sometimes a bubble machine, always loud music. Kids love it. Adults experience sensory overload. You basically have to shout to talk with other adults. I have always been impressed by the employees here -- they are attentive, engaged, taking photos, making sure kids are safe. They are not your typical teenager employee who checks their phone every ten minutes -- these employees are really good. After maybe an hour in the first room, you're brought to a second room for a bit of a change before being taken to a room with food. I'm always impressed here, too -- they have this down to a science. Food passed out, sing happy birthday, cake cut, out the door right when they said you would be. At the last party we attended, the place made a huge mistake and gave away our party's food and favors to another group. Yikes! They tried to make up for it by replacing the pizza, giving popcorn, and giving party favors, and I don't think most people noticed. We went to pump it up for a friends birthday party and I am so happy that we were invited. I didn't even know that this place existed. Which was a great surprise. The parking was decent. I ended up parking a little bit further down but everyone seemed to have a great space which was good. Upon my arrival the place looks like it was being ran by teens. I had already filled the waiver out on line so all I had to do was check in which was nice. I always make sure that I do this before I go to places just because it saves time. I liked the flow of the party place. They have different jumping areas and it well organized the staff seems to be engaged with the children and they took photos of them while they played. They have 2 different playing areas and then the final stop is the pizza. When we got to the room with the food. I felt like we were being rushed just a little because they moved soo quickly through everything. The staff was very helpful though. We attended a 4 year old birthday party here and from start to finish, they absolutely delivered! When you get in, they ask you to check in your kid(s) and in the process obtain your email/contact etc. They send emails with deals and offers consistently after that, which is great if your kids like the place! During the party, there are 2 arenas that the kids play/jump in. Both have jumping/climbing/basketball/slides. The area is well monitored and the staff constantly takes photos (which they play on a screen for everyone to relive the moments during cake cutting time). They ask that all kids wear socks for safety and if your kid is not wearing one, they offer an option to purchase. Party packages run by # of kids attending/jumping and any add-on options you'd want to have. Be sure to ask around for email offers if it's your first time because they do have plenty of email savings. Parties run approximately 2 hours with 30 mins playtime in each Arena (A & B) followed by cake time. All in all a really nice fun, kid-exhausting spot. When you approach it really looks more of an office building than a bouncy house arena but looks are deceiving. At a mere $9 per child (adults are free) it can't be beat! Once you arrive you must sign a waiver and are given a few rules to avoid the kids from getting hurt (really should be common sense type things). After the waiver and paying you are led down the short hallway to room 1 that has 4 huge bouncy houses some of which have basketball hoops to play a game. The boys LOVED this! When the party that was being hosted in room 2 ended we were all able to go In there which had another 4-5 bouncy houses and a tornado machine. Another huge hit. All of the bouncy houses are different from one another. From the parents perspective this is a great place to go if you just want alone time. Yes still watch your kids so they don't get hurt but other than that the kids are free to roam. I loved that there weren't many people there and the employees watched the kids as well. Great place for kids to burn some energy. Very laid back and great atmosphere. Kids will fall asleep in the car when they leave. Natalie and the staff are more than helpful and encourage the adults to join in on the fun. Bring some snacks and make it a day at a fixed cost. Great for a family on a budget and provides hours of fun. Natalie said 10 minutes in a bouncy house will burn as many canaries as 30 minutes on a treadmill. Terrible experience. We went there for a birthday party, but were met with a mask requirement for adults to walk the 50 ft to the private room. When I discussed the medical exemption allowed in the mayor's mandate, both the shift and general managers, Natalie and Allison, required documentation of a medical issue, claiming too many people use a medical exemption but don't really have one. Does Pump It Up offer training to its employees on what constitutes a valid medical exemption? When asked why kids over 5 are not also required to mask per the mandate, they said they were "being understanding" of the kids but "adults should be more logical and follow the rules." Clearly Pump It Up is concerned more with power and control than safety or even logic. I asked for contact info for the owner (Kelly McHugh) and was told they would not give out that information, so there is no other recourse than a review. Wow, I've never had such a poor customer service follow up after a birthday party. This is completely on the owner.... We had a small piece of feedback about the photos part of our birthday package (we received all of 7 photos from our son's party, only 1 was of my son, and they were ALL blurry). I emailed this feedback, didn't even request anything - I just thought they should know. The owner (who never actually sent his/her name) responded apologetically and offered to look into the issue for us, because there should have been many many more photos. He/She volunteered to refund us the portion of the photos from the package if they couldn't find the rest of the photos, and then POOF, they completely ghosted me. Over the course of the next 3 months, I emailed 3 times asking for a follow up, called twice (leaving a detailed voicemail once, and a message with a staff member the other time who assured me the owner was in that day and would call me back), and lastly, send a facebook message. I never ever received another response. I've given them multiple chances here - and honestly all I want is a dang response like I was promised. At this point, I could care less about the $20, I'm just so irritated that a business owner has approached the issue this way. I'm never giving them our business again. read more

Great place for the kids party but there wasn't enough help. Unorganized. One person for the party who had to set up, decorate, cut and serve the cake. Opening the gifts there was no supervision. There should have been two helpers for the party. Only saw occasionally a person supervising the children in the bounce section. It's not the helpers fault since she had no one to help her out. Management needs to help out if necessary with these parties if there is not enough help or have less parties. read more

Fast forward a couple years and we are regulars here. Even found a summer babysitter here amongst the staff. (I hope that's not against policy.... she was great) And we have discovered parent's date night here and now the boys ASK for us to have date night so they can come here. They need to be 4 years old and potty trained, but the rate is really reasonable. BUT my 4 and 6 year old have complained once or twice that the other kids can be a little rough. Sometimes I worry about that, but they keep wanting to come back. It's great to pick them up all sweaty and put them to bed worn out. :) It's a great place, you just have to understand the business model and check the calendar on the website before you go. Now that TK's Jungle is closed, this is the only game in town for the indoor inflatable slide experience. The place itself was OK. They have a billing practice that I think is not legit and I want to use my well-earned bully pulpit to complain about it: there's a $75 charge for "hot outside food". Now, they didn't tell us about this charge when we booked - they did offer to sell us the pizza from the supplier that they have a deal with - which I understand the $75 charge is steering people toward... ...but I have a big problem: Dylan D., who is otherwise the nicest and most agreeable kid in Chapel Hill, does not like pizza. (Yes, I know your question is, who the f--- doesn't like pizza?) So on the way we bought a $40 tray of chick-fil-a nuggets, and learned the bad news when we got there. And I'm just sayin' - they could have just cut us a break. So we fed the kids cheese puffs and birthday cake, which apparently doesn't come with the aforementioned $75 usurious surcharge. Anyway, yes, it's a rant, otherwise not my style, but "the man" has ways of doing things like this to 99%ers like me, so I'm fighting back the only way I know how. read more

I took my 2 year old for a birthday party this weekend. He had a blast! The staff was walking around the whole time making sure the kids were safe. They did a great job of accommodating such a large crowd. The area seemed very clean and they had several bottles of hand sanitizer around. The only 2 drawbacks I would mention would be that it is a little pricey and the music was so loud that I couldn't even hear myself talk. That seems to be a little dangerous as the kids wouldn't be able to hear parents or staff calling them if they are doing something they shouldn't be. Overall we had a very good experience there! Among the wealth of entertainment sources for kids and families in our area, surely the best exercise the mind and/or body. I enjoy finding new forms of engagement for my grandchildren, who are often in my care. We've been fairly consistent in trying each new one out as they emerge, and have discovered that some are far superior to others, for many reasons. Over the past few years, I've watched locations come and go when seeking kids' jumping fun on a collection of inflatable bounce creations, with some even including other kids' activities. The similarities at first have seemed close, but with enough experience now to qualify as an "expert grandmother," Pump it Up shines above its competitors--and is surely why it's continued to be in business for so long. Among the distinctions I commend them on the personal time and attention we've received from their staff (obviously chosen for their kid-skills,) who've consistently made my grands feel extra welcome. Another detail is that we've come to expect an impressive frequency of new units being added to their already decent number of established ones, each cleverly designed with components that require climbing, sliding and tunneling in addition to bouncing. This means that going there never gets old or not as enticing. We've not once encountered safety issues or units in disrepair or unclean. Adults can jump with the kids or sit comfortably with a good view of their jumping little ones. They provide nice amenities, including a refrigerated water cooler w/paper cups, which the kids seem to enjoy operating themselves just as much as the bouncing! Pump it Up's restrooms (at least the women's) has always been clean, and with no empty soap containers or paper towels. This is always telling for me as a grandmother, and an important measure of overall quality.) All in all, the facility is maintained well and cleaner than others we've visited. Another, now closed, was so poorly kept that I didn't want my grands to take their shoes off! We haven't used them for a birthday party yet, but my eldest granddaughter recently attended her friend's party there and ever since, hasn't stopped begging her parents about wanting her's there! I believe they offer several realistic looking popular costumed characters that go along with the theme. I've been old school about the best parties being at home, but today's parents are overly busy and stressed to comfortably add a home birthday party, so I've changed my opinion. You let them take care of the details (with pro-experience,) and you and your guests simply arrive and celebrate! The best part? I suspect being relieved of pre-party house-readying and arranging, then followed by returning back to your home as you left it, no cleanup required, lol. read more

Place has some safety issues that are a bit concerning. There are exposed electrical outlets in the children's area with the the little house that is supposed to be designed for children under age 5 and there is no attendant on the floor during open jump. The use of water coolers rather than water fountains cause the floor to be constantly flooded and the electrical cords connected to the water coolers lay in the wetness. Finally there is trash everywhere, especially the cups used for water. The place is a great idea and children need an indoor place such as this but at this location, the equipment is in disrepair and the safety is highly questionable. read more

My daughter loves bouncing here. However, even if you call ahead, you are not guaranteed that you can jump. I called ahead yesterday to make sure free bounce was available. I was assured several times we would be able to bounce and I didn't even need to reserve a spot. But this was not the case. Upon arriving they tell me no free bounce available and won't be for hours. Now we are stuck in this area with nothing to do. I'll take our business elsewhere until they figure out how to manage their business better... read more

We recently went to Pump It Up for the first time for a birthday party. My daughter had a blast! The facility was clean (and I'm a germaphobe), the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fun! I love how they ushered the children from one play room to the next after a certain amount of time to keep it fun for the duration of the party. There wasn't a whiny or fussy child in sight - they were too busy playing! The staff also offers each child a pump of hand sanitizer before eating cake (loved this touch). But, this was the icing on the cake... We accidentally left our diaper changing supplies in the bathroom. I didn't realize it until the next day and I wouldn't be able to make it back for more than a week to pick them up. I called and asked the friendly girl at the counter if she could mail them to me if I paid shipping. She agreed. I gave her my address. Once she realized we were local, she offered to drop the supplies off at my house. She did so today, and I sure am grateful! We will definitely be back! read more

Just took my 3 grandchildren for the open play on a weekday for a couple of hours of fun and physical play. Just be prepared for the stench that is overwhelming . . . smells like a dirty shoe locker until the A/C fans kick in. We arrived for the open play at about 10:30 - 11:00 AM and the industrial sized fans were circulating everywhere. Last time I was here was for a birthday party about 2 years ago, when the facility was relatively new. Not sure how often the carpets are cleaned or how much effort is given to the sanitizing of the place, but I doubt the A/C system runs 24/7 due to the cost of cooling such a large space. By the time we left at 12:30 PM , the place was starting to smell a little better. The kids had a great time, & the inflatables were in good shape, but if you are the caretaker in charge of supervising everyone, be prepared that it is like spending your time in a smelly gym. I would caution everyone over the summer months to be aware of this problem. Additionally, the water fountains that are placed throughout the arena areas A & B, were overflowing and spilling onto the carpet, leaving wet carpet. The price is very reasonable, however the smell had me completely turned off. read more

Just had my child's birthday here and it was fantastic. They really have the process down to a science. The staff was excellent, extremely helpful, and fun. The facility and equipment was clean. Huge playrooms with plenty of bounce houses/activities for everyone. They even had staff set up the party room, that was a very pleasant surprise. Allowing adults to jump was the main reason for having the party here as some the kids were a bit small/slight that struggled going up some of the bounce houses. Some chairs for adults, and water was available for the kids if they got thirsty. Everyone had a great time. The only negative I saw was that the pizza was cold by the time we ate it, so a warming bin or warming cabinet would be immensely helpful. The ladies bathroom smelled, but nothing that dampened the experience. I highly recommend this place for a party. I'd maybe suggest going with sandwiches to avoid the cold pizza issue. I was warned the party rooms had no music pumped into them, so bring some music and speakers so you aren't sitting there in silence. Your guests will have a great time and there will be very little planning on your party. Your kids will love playing here. read more
