Nancy arriving g at Windsor station!

Great dinner last night at Windsor Station. Our first time and definitely won't be the last I enjoyed the chicken Parm with spaghetti. The spaghetti is made in the house and was perfect. The other members of my dining party enjoyed the Smashburger, the rigatoni and the special of the night a fish sandwich. Everybody agreed that Windsor station will become a regular spot for us. Shared maple frosted carrot cake and a bowl of ice cream. I suggested they should add a bowl of the maple frosting as a possible dessert item. Definitely a great team working the dining room and the front door. Very friendly and very knowledgeable.

We've been to this restaurant several times and it has never disappointed. The food is consistently excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere makes it easy to see why it's a favorite among locals. On our most recent visit, we started with the mussels and a fresh salad, both were flavorful and set the stage nicely for what was to come. For entrées, we ordered the specials: swordfish and pork tenderloin with a mustard demi-glaze. Both dishes were outstanding, cooked beautifully, and paired with a delicious vegetable medley of sweet carrots, crisp broccoli, and perfectly prepared potatoes. We couldn't resist dessert and shared the strawberry pistachio cheesecake, which was as decadent as it sounds. By the end, I was a little overfull, but only because everything was too good to leave behind! Our server, Reagan, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and really added to the experience. In fact, every time we've dined here, the service has been just as impressive as the food. This place is a true gem, and we feel lucky to have it nearby whenever we are visiting the area. Highly recommend!

Great food in an old Train station! Perfect stop for delicious food. The bread basket w/maple butter was a great start. We then had crab cakes and 1/2 order of Calamari both came with equally good sauces. Dinner was 1/2 Chicken Parm and husband had burger special. Both again delicious, although he asked for medium and got well- done. Still amazing Dessert was carrot cake with the best Maple cream on top. Run don't walk.

Delicious food, great staff, and an amazing setting. I had the half order of Italian sausage and pasta and it was perfect. My husband had a half order of the chicken Parmesan and we had leftovers! We also had the butternut squash soup and chocolate and pumpkin swirl cake and both were excellent. Our waiter was lovely and very friendly.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Vermont. They truly do everything right here. The atmosphere is elegant, but relaxed; the staff is friendly and courteous; the food is amazing with large portions; the prices are very reasonable. This restaurant is for every occasion -- from birthday dinner to casual meal. The vibe is more so towards jeans and a button-up, but I felt comfortable in my usual t-shirt and shorts. I appreciated the complementary bread before any meals arrived -- a small but increasingly less common practice -- with maple butter! Fried Calamari: Absolutely delicious. We foolishly ordered the half-portion, which is more suited to one person. These were crisp, well-seasoned, and tender. Next time, I'll order the full portion. Basin Street Alfredo: A classically heavy dish, the Alfredo was rich and packed with chicken, shrimp, and sausage. I ordered the full portion, which is very large -- I ended up taking about a 1/3 of it home, which is great. I really enjoyed this entree. We just had a wonderful dinner experience with Windsor Station Restaurant. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was fresh and hot and delicious! The ambiance was unique and comforting and I highly recommend! When we were seated, the waitstaff brought over fresh hot bread and butter which is always a nice touch while you view the menu and you're starving. I ordered the veggie burger with side salad instead of fries and hubby ordered the full size alfredo with a half caesar to start. My burger was quite possibly the best veggie burger I've ever had. It was stacked with fresh lettuce and tomatoes and carmelized onions and sautéed mushrooms with melted cheddar on the veggie patty- which was hot and perfectly formed- not too dry like it has been from where i've ordered from other places in the past. My side salad was cool and refreshing with fresh veggies and the maple peppercorn dressing was amazing!! Hubby's half caesar was basic but just the right size for having veggies with his dinner . His alfredo however, was AMAZING. It wasn't a regular alfredo sauce, since there was chicken, shrimp and sausage so that added a delicious savory taste. He brought about 1/3 of the leftovers of the FULL size home so he wouldn't overdo it. All and all, was a wonderful meal. Great food. Great service. Great setting. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars was because we were charged for my side salad that should've come with my burger. We didn't bother questioning it though because everything else was so perfect, we just let it go and figured the food was so great we didn't care about paying an extra $4 for my salad !

I had the halibut and salad, which were delicious and both made great use of locally grown blueberries. The kids didn't appreciate the pasta with butter and cheese having homemade pasta; they didn't like that it was a more difficult shape to eat than a standard penne-like pasta. But I tried it and thought it was unusually delicious for that standard kid dish. And very reasonably priced, too. Several menu items I didn't get to try sounded great, too. Sorry that I won't have a chance to go back on our trip.

Luckily, we didn't have reservations on a busy Friday night and scored a seat downstairs near the fireplace. Parking was a bit tight, but we managed to find a spot close by. The interior was beautifully decorated with string lights and barn wood beams, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and clearly tried her best to accommodate the entire front of the restaurant on her own - for her first evening on the job, she did a great job. We both enjoyed the specials - salmon with broccoli and rice pilaf, plus I had a delicious beet salad. I enjoyed a refreshing raspberry mocktail, while my friend had THE RUBY SLIPPER--Absolut Ruby Red, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, raspberry puree, and a sugar rim. We waited a bit for our check since I was in a rush to leave to take antihistamines; unfortunately, I discovered there was mustard in the salmon sauce, which I'm allergic to. I should have asked before ordering, but I only realized after my symptoms started following my last bite. Overall, it's a cozy, quaint place with limited parking, and reservations are recommended for a smoother experience.

There's a reason why this place has 4 1/2 stars after 180+ reviews, they can do no wrong…read more My grandfather brought my cousin and me here one day after a ski trip to Okemo and always had it in the back of my mind to come back here. Stopped in this weekend after skiing some fresh snow at Magic Mountain as it right along the way home. Already knew I was going to be eating some delicious food but didn't want to double dip and order the same thing. Well, I ordered the potato wedges which my cousin ordered last time which came out hot! Such a tasty bite as I remember them to be. After I had gotten through 1/2 of them I decided to order the Steak Pie which by the looks of all the other yelpers was going to be a great choice. No more than five minutes later as I was wrapping up my appetizer it was sitting in front of me. Dug into the vegetables first and they stood out as the first thing I should take a bite of, and they were on point. Nice buttery flavor and cooked just right. The beef was falling apart as I was sticking my for into it. So good! Wish there was more!! Potatoes were equally delicious as I used them to try and soak up all of the gravy, which I couldn't get enough of. So much flavor! The pastry puff I could have done without, give me some butter to slap on it and now we are talking. Ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding by recommendation of my server and was very happy with her pick. So. Damn. Good! Meal was $33 with a water, cannot beat the price for what you are putting in your body. During all of this they had the rugby game on between France and Scotland. Wish rugby was televised more here in the US, more enjoyable to watch than the NFL. Yelp would like me to talk about the ambiance so here it is. Place has lots of cultural items all around. Always something to look at and maybe educate yourself on. All in all if you are a skier and need a place to stop on the way home to fuel you up this is the place to come to. Maybe the same mindset if you are a hiker in the warmer months.

Small place with good service. Very Scottish with interesting decor. The chicken salad with corn I…read moregot on my garden salad was tasty and definitely interesting. Hubby reported his roast beef sandwich was great although the roast beef looked overcooked to me. What was dubious, however, were the French fries. They had a sort of mealy texture and a very odd taste--I thought they used coconut oil to fry but hubby thinks they coated them with baking soda, then fried. Either way I wasn't a fan.
