Had a delicious dinner here on a busy Saturday night. We got seated right away and our main server, Sophie, was excellent. The place is well staffed and they work well, like a team. There's a handsome bar and plenty of seating upstairs and the downstairs dining area was busy too. Our meals were delicious and the portions generous. Looking forward to returning soon! read more

Food was good it's been a while since I have been. I sat at the bar last time I had a hard time getting the bartender's attention at first. But over all it was good read more

Been here several times before but it's going down hill. Pulled pork nachos were as good as ever but that's where the good ended. I ordered Prime rib and my wife ordered the scallop basket. After a considerable wait they brought the scallops but then took them back and said wait a minute when we said we were also waiting for the prime rib. 10 minutes later they brought both dinners. The scallops and fries were no longer hot and the prime rib was tough. The vegetables never showed and the waitress never came back to ask how things were. Disappointed. Good for drinks and apps but I'd recommend dinner somewhere else. read more

Great food and terrific service tonight. I especially appreciated the warmth of our server and manager. Our food was plentiful and tasty. We will return. read more

Brutal wait staff. Seated in corner took prolonged time to be acknowledged. Ordered took long time for food and I don't blame kitchen. Entree came before appetizer. Appetizer cook to consistency of hockey puck but have a feeling wait staff let it sit. Had fries that may have been cooked during Nixon administration. Not a good experience having worked in industry wait staff was either bad or inattentive. Really bummed Taco place was closed nearby. read more

I am visiting my best friend in Vermont this weekend. Tonight we were wandering about and came across this lovely gem. Their corned beef poutin really hit the spot for me and my friend loved her Rueben and fries. Out server was very friendly and the atmosphere fun and inviting, like a neighborhood hangout. But, if you aren't in the mood for a pub atmosphere, downstairs they offer dining in a more formal restaurant environment. Something for everyone. I will most definitely return. read more

Salt Hill Pub - The Fish & Chips was outstanding - American Near Me - Newport, New Hampshire

This was a very pleasant experience. We came over here with a long time friend for a late lunch, and we were not disappointed. I had, perhaps, one of the best chicken barbecue salads I've had in a long time. In addition to that, There early afternoon beer selections are super. I had the harpoon IPAA which was exquisitely well paired for the rather spicy chicken salad My other guest at a sumptuous burger and exquisite french fries. We were also able to sit up stairs, which we never get to do. The upstairs of the salt hill pub is very welcoming, clean, and almost cozy. Service was also very good. read more

Had a nice lunch here on a Monday afternoon. Great beers on tap ($2.50 on Mondays) and 25 cent wings (very small, should be 10 cents) Wonderful menu! Irish influenced and fresh food not frozen pub food. I had a Rachel sandwich w/ hand cut fries. ($7.99) Looks like a great place to hang out at night for beers and drinks. read more

We always come from Sunapee because the food at the Newport location is typically better. Not sure if it was an off day, but not crazy about my sweet fries with the cheeseburger(standard burger). A bit expensive at over $17.00. My wife had the plain mac & cheese, and unfortunately it lived up to its name, plain. read more

Right outside the entrance to Mt Sunapee. We found the hostess and the waitress to be very friendly and accommodating. Food was top notch. Started with a large order of the onion rings. Hot a served quickly. My son had the burger with an egg and I had the fish and chips and a Caesar salad. My son devoured the burger and stated that it was "Outstanding." The fish and chips were very good. The piece of fish was HUGE!. No kidding it covered 3/4 of the plate. It along with the salad were very good. If you are in the area worth having a meal. read more

This place is definitely a find... We were taking the day for drive, doing a little leaf peeping a bit early to celebrate our birthdays and getting a bit hungry. Stopped in this stereotypical New England town and entered this restaurant, advertising American foods and Irish cooking. It was outstanding food was hot, flavorful, and plentiful. From butternut soup w real cinnamon whipped cream, hot Reuben sandwiches and to-die-for apple crisp and apple pie for dessert! Felicia was wonderful, discreetly checking on our needs. So glad this restaurant hasn't succumbed to C-19!! Please visit, you won't be disappointed!! read more

Buffalo tenders: 2 1/2 stars Salt Hill Club: 3 1/2 stars Service: 3 Stars Dining Area: 3 Stars Pub Area: 4 Stars Not bad, I just wasn't happy with my tenders. I've had other food here which is actually pretty good! It's probably the best place to grab a casual bite in the area as there aren't too many options other than Ming China and Village House of Pizza. They have a solid tap selection and live music many nights. Overall I would say it's a 3 1/3. Not a bad place to drop in to after a day skiing at Sunapee. They also have roast specials: prime rib, crown roast of pork, real home style type stuff at a decent bargain. read more

Stumbled upon this place while we were visiting Pats Peak and were looking for some fun places to hangout around the area. This is a true blue(green) Irish pub, it has a great vibe.. the servers were all very polite and jovial l! Food was great.. the bacon tater tots are to die for! read more

This place ALWAYS gets my orders wrong. One time I went to pick up my food and they told me they were out of something I ordered so they made me something else.. why the hell wouldn't you call me? If I knew I would've just went somewhere else. The food isn't even worth what you pay either. Also, from personal experience, never get the nachos or bacon tots. The cheese always hardens and gets crusty after 5 minutes.. y'all should probably check on that. read more

I was really looking forward to eating here but was extremely disappointed. We walked in and the place wasn't very full and had at least 4 waitresses. When we got seated we noticed our waitress was finishing up 2 tables. At about 15 minutes we started to hear a kid (2yrs old)playing his harmonica very badly. We waiting another 10 minutes (while listening to a 2year old play his harmonica) and watch our waiters seat two other tables and take their orders. After a total of 30+ minutes we gave up. Our waitress was off chitchatting with other waitresses and hugging tables that weren't even in her section while we were waiting and clearly put our menus at the end of the tables showing that we were ready. 10 out of 10 would never recommend. read more

Disappointed in the change of the new menu. We were seated and for over ten minutes not one person acknowledged us. After we viewed the menu we noticed they took away the French Dip sandwich. Called and ordered dinner for two for take out-Newport location. Fish and chips on line menu was 12.99 but we were charged 17.99. I questioned this and was told due to Covid they have not updated their website. I asked if they would honor online price and got a hard NO. Changed fish to a burger. Went to pick up order and had to go back into the restaurant to get tartar sauce that was ordered but not in bag. I let manager know that we were using up a gift card but was disappointed that they would not honor website price and for that reason we would not return. Got home and Medium cooked burger order was pink and rare. The onion rings were huge and delicious. The sweet potato fries were greasy and soggy and disappointing. Staff during our interactions were very friendly. Would not recommend the food. read more

Had a birthday party there. They didn't give us any serving utensils and when we asked for some we got soup spoons, which were not much help for anything, cause chicken wings, need tongs here people. The fruit salad was cut by someone who had never held a knife before. Oh and they only gave us cocktail napkins, did I mention we had chicken wings? That said the food was food, if very awkward, not bad but not great. read more
