After the Pandemic, Mount Sunapee instituted a Maître d' concept instead of a sit-yourself service. That has worked quite well and avoids rude people hijacking tables the entire day for a few people as it occurs in the rest of the resort. Service is quick and the food is more varied and way better than the cafeterias. As well, the enormous bar lends a fun ambiance to the place with lively conversations throughout the day. Goosefeathers also has a gigantic outdoor area with full view of the slopes. Only drawback to the place is the schedule. It closes too early, usually at the end of the ski day. No genuine Après Ski to be had. If you want to do that, the Shanty is right outside the access road in Newbury.
