I've had a great experience with Window World of Austin and Brent Maldonado. I had their windows installed at my house about 10 years ago. Two of them had an issue recently in my kids bedroom, possibly from them using them a bit too roughly. Brent had his team come out to inspect the issue. The windows were under warranty (they have a liftime warranty I believe) so they ordered replacements and came back to replace them. There was a very reasonable installation fee and then we had brand new windows. Great experience all around. I highly recommend this company if you need new or replacement windows. read more

We brought in Window World to replace 18 windows in our home. From the initial estimate to the final walk through, we have a very good experience. At the onset for the estimate, the sales rep took no more than 30min. No lengthy sales pitch which was great! From there, we worked directly with the Project Manager and got scheduled for install. The crew came out as scheduled and replaced all 18 windows in one day. After install was complete, we did a walk through with the foreman and identified a few areas that needed additional cleaning or touch ups and they completed those on the spot. A few days later we noticed some caulking issues and Window World came right out and fixed all issues. As for the windows themselves, I immediately noticed a difference in the temperature of my home during the afternoon hours. The AC has not been nearly as hard to keep our home nice and cool. We were in the market for new windows. We got an estimate from another company. It was for an outrageous price from a very pushy salesman. I contacted Window World, left a message and received a call from Matt the same afternoon. Our meeting with him was just great! We had to wait, of course, for the windows to be made but oh! It was worth the wait. The installation crew - Wesley, Chris and Eddie were just terrific! They arrived on time; they were friendly and personable, and they made short work of removing the old windows and installing the new. Installation time was amazingly fast and they took such great care of our furnishings. They cleaned up any remaining debris and put our furniture back into place. We are already noticing a difference in the temperature inside our house. The AC doesn't need to run nearly as often. The light coming in is so bright and the panes stay so cool. There is less outside noise and a reduction in dust in the house. We are so happy with the windows, and we know who to call when it is time to replace our glass doors! I love my Windows. I chose Window World because my son had Window World of Houston do his, and he was very happy with his. I did not do any research. I was shocked when the windows went in that I had lost 7-8 inches of glass from my old windows to the new ones. Apparently Houston has different qualifications for windows. In Austin all vinyl window have 3 inch wide frames around each window, whereas my old ones had frames of 1 1/8 inch. I have gotten used to it and no longer notice. But - barring that, I love them. They are strong and sturdy, easy to clean, and the guys installing them were courteous and efficient. Beware that you may lose a lot of glass if your old windows have small frames. I still do not know if I had chosen another company or bought more expensive windows if the frames could have been smaller. You may want to check that out. read more

A couple of negative reviews on here are probably par for the course with any company, but the many positive ones, including ours, are what new customers should pay attention to. We had 16 replacement windows installed some years ago. Over the years, the seal on two broke, and two somehow fell out of the balance connectors. I began working with Hector. He was punctual, Professional, and laid out the plan and cost clearly. No hard sales approach. Of course with anything do alittle homework before purchasing windows. Then you will know upfront, they are offering a quality product at good value. The wait was longer as supplies around the country were depleted post pandemic but Hector realistically told me how much time between order and installation. Edward, Andrew, Dj, and Louise were professional and thorough and very pleasant and respectful to work through the day. Followed covid protocol and left house very clean! Since our window install was less than smooth, I'll just list the Pros and Cons and let you make an informed decision on whether to use this company. We purchased 7 windows and one large sliding glass door. $10k. Installation was scheduled for April 2nd but delayed due to COVID-19 shutdown. I was told they were very strict with regard to COVID protocols and had clear procedures that their installation crews must follow. They also asked that the homeowners follow them too so their team is safe. This was perfect, I felt so much better about having them in our home. Pros: Salesmen Matt was great. Responsive, straightforward, no pressure with presenting options, etc. 0% interest financing was a great option and process was smooth no issues. Windows are nice, great features as far as cleaning, ventilation and energy efficiency. Cons: Initial installation went well, but my husband later reports that the install supervisor had a bit of an attitude. He realizes that the supervisor is not wearing a mask and asks him to put one on. Tells him that I am returning shortly and a stickler for proper safety. The supervisor cops an attitude but complies. My husband reminds him that he (the supervisor) was very adamant when he arrived about us wearing face coverings, so he wasn't sure about the attitude now. (I had no idea about this exchange until my second encounter noted below). They realize that they are missing a part for one window, so they can't install it. They also indicate that they can't install the patio door. They indicate that the part should be in next week, ask if we want them to take window and doors back or leave them on our back patio. There are several huge boxes that take up a large section of our patio in front of our existing doors, but we agree since it was just going to be a week. Three weeks later, no response from Window World about the status of our window or doors so I call for an update. I'm later told, part is in we just need to get it on their schedule. We're given a three separate install dates, 2 times the crew never showed, we had to call and were only then told they had scheduling issues. When the crew finally showed up 5/29, the same supervisor with the attitude arrived, yet again, with an attitude. He proceeded, with a bossy attitude, to tell me that I need to move my car. I ask him why, he's a little incredulous and says to pull my trailer up and bring in our equipment through the front door. When I inquired about what equipment they would be bringing across our floors and in our drive, that didn't set well with him. I ask him if they can take it around through the back yard, he cocks his head to the side and says, no! He then continues with his incredible customer service attitude and says, "are you even ready for us today"? To which I reply, yes, we've been ready for you for quite some time. He asks to come in to check the areas out, I explain that I need him to put on a mask. Another cocked head, incredulous stare and he heads back to his truck. He knocks on the door a few seconds later and says "yeah, I'm going to go ahead and leave cause I'm not feeling good about this situation. I'll ask them to send another crew. Of course I am furious exclaim that they are awesome and slam the door. I call the office and get a recording that their office is closed and while I'm leaving a message, the Owner picks up. I explain the encounter I just had and how angry I am, long story short, the Owner tells me that he's sorry for all of the delays and lack of communication and the fact that our patio doors should never have been left on our patio so long. They could have been installed back in April and the window could have been a quick follow up visit. He said he woke up that morning and discussed our project with his wife. Seemed genuinely upset and very upset with his Supervisor. The Service Manager arrives 1.5 hours later, apologized profusely and he and another installer installs the door and window. They did a good job. As he was leaving my husband thanked him but told him he was not happy about my earlier exchange with the supervisor, and shared his experience with him during the first install, so there was a not good pattern there. The Manager apologizes and says he got a different story from the supervisor. I started to share the recording of our exchange that our surveillance picked up at the door that morning, but I was done and just wanted them to go. Also, the Owner said he was putting a $500 check in the mail as a small gesture for all of our trouble. I said I didn't want their money, just wanted the project complete. He insisted, said "you guys go out and have a great dinner on me". I thanked him. Check never arrived. So, your call on whether you should use this company, or not. read more

Like many first-time homeowners, I really had no idea what I was getting into when I bought a "fixer-upper" 1982 home in South Austin. Too much HGTV and Apartment Therapy had seriously deluded me into thinking that I actually could do renovations to my house and everything will turn out perfectly-wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! Looking back, I should have done the following things before purchasing windows in general: 1. hire designer for a consultation to advise on different styles of windows, looks, etc. You will save tons of money by spending a little on the front end by doing your homework 2. study different windows at Home Depot or Lowe's. See how they look, feel, operate. Don't trust window sales rep from any company to be able to advise you on anything. They are there to SELL you products, not consult on what would look best in your house. 3. Ask lots of questions!!! Ask about the differences between double-hung vs. casements vs picture windows. They all have different glass sizes and frame styles. Have them show you on the website or on their catalog. Have the sales reps point out the differences! New windows are energy-efficient and wonderful, but please don't forget they are part of the overall look of your house--it's worth studying this aspect as much as how much energy you will save. As for the other important aspects of working with Window World: 1. Price: Window World offered the best price of the 4 quotes we received. 2. Installation Process: Carl and his crew are amazing--they put in 16 windows in record time and didn't even mess up our pristine paint job. The caulking, the clean-up, everything was on point. Installation Process #2: The last set of windows were riddled with miscommunication and crew changes. HOWEVER, Seth Cohen, the owner, went above and beyond to rectify the situation, put our nerves at ease and really came through for us to make us feel happy and comfortable. It took several trips to fine-tune everything, but I'm happy as a clam now. 3. Communication: I would say this is the area that needs some improvement, but they are a small office. It helps to be persistent and follow-up vigorously if need be--they will get back to you. Overall, this whole window replacement process had its bumps and sleepless nights for me, a complete renovation noob, but I completely trust Seth and his team and definitely would recommend Window World to anyone in need of replacing windows/doors. read more

Had a quote to have 30 windows replaced in black. Because these were painted, we were told it could take 6 months for delivery and installation due to supply chain issues. Hector came, measured and counted the windows and provided a quick quote. No pressure to buy and we appreciated that. Quote was affordable. They came and installed 7 months later. Installers were quick and had all the old window removed with the news ones installed in one business day. They did the exterior caulking the next day. They had to come back again later to finish up some cleaning and install a couple missing screens. Their manufacturer sent one wrong window but that was expedited, and they came back about 6 weeks later to install. Did not invoice us for the final payment until the work was fully completed. Brent was good at communicating when we noted some areas that needed to get addressed, and they came quickly to fix everything. Seth Cohen, the owner really went out of his way for me, I had a nightmare situation where the previous owners (Window World San Antonio) didn't close the permit they opened on my house. I tried forever to get the San Antonio office to help me out, they were nothing but rude and countlessly told me they would "call me back", of course they never did. Seth, was the complete opposite, even though his company didn't mess this up, he sent his guy over the next day to get it done, and within 3 days I had an inspector at my house to get my permit closed. Then I find out Window World San Antonio didn't even do it right, they put a plain glass window next to my front door, which is a code violation. I told Seth about it, and again he cleaned up their mess and is getting it taken care of. Our house was built in '87 and we purchased it in '98. I've pretty much hated the windows for as long as I can remember and replacing them has always been on my wish list. Twenty one years later, and I was FINALLY able to take the leap. From start to finish this company has been FANTASTIC. Couldn't have asked for better service and quality. Let me preface this review with our windows were literally from 1970 and were in bad shape. We have been putting off getting new windows for a while because we were afraid it was going to be too expensive. We contacted a few companies here in Austin that were recommended by friends and family that have had windows replaced. Window World was by far the most attentive and professional. We heard back from them within a day, and set up a meeting with Seth, the owner who came to the house and displayed some options. Never once did we feel pressure to purchase anything and he remained confident in their windows and their work and even encouraged us to price out other options. Their installers were on time efficient and friendly and really knew what they were doing. They left the place looking better than they found it which I know isn't too much to ask for but nice that they did it anyway. They also set up the permits on our behalf with the city, and scheduled the inspection. We had seven windows replaced and can't believe what a difference they've made in the house. Our rooms are more insulated, and the noise from outside has been reduced drastically, meaning we no longer hear our neighbors roosters. Overall, we paid less than we thought we would. Okay, first off, just call these guys right now. Don't stop at go and collect your $200. If you look all around, you'll still end up here if you are smart. And you're smart already, because you're reading online reviews. The true measure of a good company is not how they perform when you give them a huge job. The incentive is already built into the size of the job. But when you need just 2 windows replaced and you're in a hurry, most contractors won't call you back EVEN IF THEY BID FOR YOUR JOB ON A SITE LIKE THUMBTACK. When I called Window World of Austin, I told the receptionist what I needed (a quick, high quality replacement of 2 windows as part of our home sale prep) and was immediately put on the phone with Braden. Braden listened carefully, made an appointment to come out, and was on time! He took a look, walked me through all the options and recommended a course of action. As usual, it wasn't quite as simple as replacing exactly what we had. There were a couple of questions that still had to be answered and he was very responsive by both text and phone until we had the exact solution. Everyone I talked to at WWA was polite, sharp and responsive without ever doing a heavy sell. I really felt like they were on my team and that was worth a lot! We had to do a couple of diving saves to get the order placed immediately, and they were extremely helpful, even when the fault was with my technical abilities to respond via scans. Fast forward 2 weeks: the windows arrived EARLIER THAN PROMISED and a team came out at the end of that week to install on a Friday afternoon. They arrived, comically, at the exact minute they said they would (I mean, who ARE these guys?), were smart and polite, installed the windows, cleaned up after themselves and were on their way. If you have ever had workers out for a small job on a Friday afternoon, you will get how amazing that was. My ideal contractors: fast to respond, smart, fair in the pricing (but usually not the cheapest - if that's your goal, you'll have to let go of some of these other wishes), fantastic quality and installation, great on communication and follow-up. He even pointed out a recent change in city ordinances that saved me from having to have an expensive hole cut in my wall to install a larger window in one area, which saved me quite a bit of money. We ordered windows from Wi dow World, they were custom built and arrived within the time frame advised at the time of purchase. The installation was estimated to take 12 hours. The team arrived at 930AM and each person came up and introduced themselves and shook our hands. They were very kind and respectful of us and our property. We needed access to the master and they worked diligently to ensure that room was completed first and as quickly as possible without comprising the quality of work. They were finished with the job by 230PM. Jose took the time to explain how the windows operated and gave advise on the best practices. They also discovered two defects which currently have no impact to the window operation but felt after use over time would become an issue. They had already ordered replacement parts and we will have them here within two weeks. We even had a follow up from the owner to ensure we were happy with the product and install. An outstanding job by installation team and the quality is amazing. So glad we found Window World. read more

Update on our windows. New correct glass was finally installed and thought we were good. But a few weeks later when weather turned cold and the windows in the bath fogged up for the first time, we could see the imprint of a Window World sticker on the glass. Obvious enough we could read everything. Tried multiple methods of cleaning but no luck. Window world sent out a crew to clean, but no better result. So window world re-ordered the glass (4th try on this window). It was installed a couple weeks ago and now fine. So while we are now 9 months from original order, we now have all windows in and looking good. While I certainly wish this had been complete in 9 weeks as planned rather than 9 months, I must say that 90% of the issue was at the manufacturer and Window World stood by the product and made it right. We are now happy with our windows and I would use them again. read more

Purchased new windows November of 2015, windows were installed late January 2016. Nothing but problems and broken promises. Had one window which was scratched during install and to this day they've not replaced it. Have made several promises that someone would be out to replace it, that it's on order, etc.. and no window. Got to give them credit, they did attempt to replace the large arch window once, but when they got here with the replacement it had broke during transit. Got more lies and promises that they would re-order and get it installed ASAP.. Well guys, 9 months later and still have a damaged window and not even a call back. Install was so so -- I'm still finding shards of glass from when they broke out the original windows. Glass in the carpet and grass. took them three visits to fix another window which was incorrectly installed twice. Overall if your install goes good, then it appears to be a quality product. However if you have problems, don't anticipate this company keeping its word to resolve those issues. I've asked for a refund for the damaged window and have not even received a call back... read more

Worst service ever!!!! Asked to order windows from them for a mobile home the receptionist called 3 times to get the order right after 3 calls and that info being given numerous times the first time! Then they order side sliding windows vs up and down. Me not knowing the difference in between the windows cause I told him I needed double hung, no one ever said sideways or top and bottom lift. So I call them tell them I need new windows and the owner acts unprofessional saying fine I will cut you a check and you can order windows elsewhere. So I take them to the back cause he is not treating me the customer the way I should which is saying yeah we didn't explain it no one asked so that's our fault for assuming and get me new windows. I meet him at the back to drop the windows off and he jumps out the door running at me chest bumping me pushing me numerous times trying to knock the window out of my hand and then he proceeds to takes the window out of my hand and throws it on the ground breaking it. Now that all of this happened I set up a complaint with the better business bureau to let them know about this business owner. All this is from a measly $478 purchase, 2 windows and I'd have bought more like 10 or 12 to complete the house. If this had a no star option that's what it would be! read more
