If I could I'd give them negative stars! They screwed up my simple frameless glass shower doors not once, not twice, but three times. The last one they didn't even bother calling me till the day of the installation to inform me they wouldn't be out. Now I know what your thinking.....well at least they made right by the customer and were very apologetic and sincere in communicating what they'd do to make things right. NO!!!! I had to call them and then they didn't even have the professionalism to call me back. Well, at least they'd take some money off since they're three weeks late with the order and installation.......NO!! Every time we called to order new windows for the next phase of construction we had the same prompt and professional service as the time before. I had 3 quotes for Milgard Tuscany windows and Window Solutions came in the lowest. I had all windows and sliding doors in the house replaced and they did a superior job. The installation team was professional and let me know that there were minor scratches in the glass that required replacing. Milgard is in the process of doing that. I feel so blessed to have found the company Window Solutions in El Cajon. I desperately needed new windows for the 1956 home my parents built and I grew up in. The windows were all single pane and crank out - falling apart. Dusty answered when I called. She was very courteous and suggested I come into the showroom. When I arrived, Amy showed me around. She was very knowledgeable about all the window choices. I decided on Milgard Tuscany. I loved the lifetime guarantee. She told me all their installers are on payroll. That was great! We setup an appointment for Joseph to come out and give a free estimate. He arrived right on time and was a pleasure. He measured all the windows and we discussed types. I was pleasantly surprised at the price. I also liked that this is a family business that has been around forever. I could tell this is a company that wants to do it right the first time. After signing the contract, the owner came out and remeasured everything. He reconfirmed all of our choices. I wanted to be sure the install happened before the kids went back to school. The date was set and the 2 installers, Justin and Chris arrived early that day. Justin made sure to answer all my questions before beginning. The two worked together very efficiently and seemed to be enjoying their work. Since my job was complicated 3 days had been scheduled. The 2nd day, another installer, Dave arrived. Again the 3 worked together very well. I am so happy with the new updated look of the house. I am also happy that the noise is reduced and the windows are easy to operate. This review is based only on my experience with this company in getting an estimate to replace all the windows in my house. I initially called to setup an estimate and was able to arrange for someone to come out within a few days. The person who arrived to provide the estimate was prompt and arrived on time. While he measured the existing windows he indicated that if I elected to go with them that someone else would have to come out again to measure the windows, despite him already having done it once which seemed like a huge waste of time for all parties involved. He also indicated they would need a 30 lead time to get the windows which was several times longer than other companies I had spoken to. He left an estimate for 2 lower/mid range window brands before leaving but never mentioned the higher quality brand they sell or provide an estimate for it, I ultimately had to call back later to request it. I'm not sure why he wouldn't have left an estimate for the higher grade windows as well while he was there. Probably the most off-putting thing was the how quickly and willingly the man providing the estimate felt compelled to speak badly about their competitors. It is a much better business tactic to talk yourself up instead of talking down on the competition. Their price for the higher quality windows was competitive however I ultimately chose to work with a company who presented themselves in a more professional and ethical manner. read more

Great customer service and resolve. Very happy with Window Solutions, A+. We purchased all new double-pane aluminum windows and sliders for the entire house end of last year. The crew was very courteous and punctual. A few days post installation, it rained sideways and some of the new window moldings were leaking water. I called and they immediately came out same day, caulked and remedied. Fast fwd to today, we had a molding/trim that was warping around one of our bedroom windows and I emailed to inquire about fixing. Next day (today) they sent Mario out, fixed under warranty and asked if I was completely satisfied. Highly recommend. read more

I wrote a review on this company but YELP chose to not include it on the pages you see when you look for reviews on Window Solutions. I am not sure why, but if you want to see it, you must click on the link to "other reviews not currently at the bottom of the "Authorized" review section. But the company's response to the other review is attached to the end of this review. I don't get it. I waited a while to respond to the guy from Window Solutions comments on my review of Jan 2015. The reason I waited was to continue to watch for similar scratches to appear on the replacement glass (installed for us by" Pacifica Glass" for a lot less money). After 4 months, there are none. We are using the same techniques and materials to clean the glass that we did on the glass that was originally installed. The bottom line is that the glass was originally installed with the scratches. Whether it got scratched at the manufacturing facility or in transit, or when it was being installed, it was scratched. Not by us. I repeat, we are using exactly the same cleaning materials and techniques on the new glass we used on the glass that was installed by Window Solutions . If we had caused the scratches on the original glass, the same scratches would have appeared over time on the new glass. They have not. The individual from Window Solutions makes reference to a statement my wife made that "more" scratches appeared on the glass as time passed. More scratches did not appear or happen at a later date, we just kept noticing more and more of them as we started looking closer. In the beginning, we had no reason to look for scratches. We assumed (erroneously as it turned out) that the product that was installed was not damaged. The reason we didn't see the scratches at first is because in the bathroom, the light comes from different sources. The scratches only became apparent when viewed with a light source behind them and/or at different angles. For instance, many of the scratches in the lower part of the glass panels could not be seen until your eyes were lower than the scratches and you were looking up at them with a light behind them. On the higher areas of the panels you could only see the scratches when you were looking up, through the top ¼ of the panel, toward the ceiling with a light behind them. I guess I am partially at fault because when we finally started noticing the scratches, I didn't act immediately and call the company. I should have. I waited too long. That's my fault. But that doesn't mitigate the fact that they installed scratched panels. Plain and simple. So because of that, I asked what it would cost to replace the glass and asked for a discount on the replacement glass, not a Freebie!. I was willing to pay to have them do it again (DUH!). What I found repulsive and unacceptable, is that their "discounted price" to me to replace the glass was close to 45% higher that the bids I got for "full price" glass replacement from other installers. That's why I posted my original review, to warn others to look out for their significantly higher prices and lower customer service. Look, my wife and I are both in our 60's and we take pride in our home and possessions. Neither of us are stupid. We don't use metal or sharp edged objects to clean our mirrors, windows, or shower glass. If that were the case every window, mirror and piece of glass in the place would be scratched to the point of being opaque! Even the installers from Window Solutions, who came out when we told them of the scratches, said the kind of scratches in the glass most likely came from something like the edge of a sharp metal object or something hard and deeply abrasive. (No we didn't use rocks, sandpaper, chisels or razorblades to clean the steam off of the shower glass!). We don't use abrasive cleaners like Comet or Ajax. There are none anywhere in the house. The reason I even came on here and bothered to refute their statements is that the Company representative choose to respond to my earlier review with their rationale attempting to place the blame for the scratches on my wife and I. That is not the case. Blame me for not going after them sooner, fine. But that's the only thing we did wrong here...except using them in the first place. So, because of their poor customer service and denial of responsibility, I repeat what I said prior. There are other fabricators and installers who won't install damaged material in your home and they will do a proper job for a lot less money. Edit: The rebuttal post states that there were deep vertical scratches on the glass. There were numerous scratches in different directions on the glass. He is trying to marginalize my complaint and justify his company's poor workmanship and poorer business practices. It is just one more example why you should not use this company read more

Just had a glass mirror installed in a bathroom. It covered the entire wall and had 2 cut out for light sconces. Julie (office) was so pleasant and the guys were prompt, professional and on time. The mirror looks great. I would recommend to anyone needing glass or mirror. read more

My experience with window solutions was horrible. I received the worst customer service I have ever received. I first contacted window solutions on February 16 requesting a quote. After not hearing back from them for a week I had to contact them. I had to contact them several times before they actually came out and measured for a frameless shower enclosure. Once again I had to contact them instead of them contacting me to give me the price. Finally I scheduled an install date of April 03 and put down a down payment of half the price. I told customer service that I was going to be putting my house on the market and was on a strict deadline. They came out and took down my existing shower they then told us that the glass they had was the wrong size so they couldn't install it. They told me customer service would contact us with a date of when the glass would be. After not hearing from them I had to contact them once again. They told me the glass wouldn't be in until a week later. I have a family of three and only have one other small bath tub in our home so I was extremely upset that they did not confirm there measurements before tearing down my shower. I was contacted a week later and told that the glass was in but the edge was incorrect and I would have to wait another week. My family had to bathe in a small bathtub for one more week. I was so furious at this point but what could I do they already had my deposit. They finally installed my shower on April 24 three weeks after they were supposed to. They then had the nerve to charge me another $250.00 after their mistakes instead of doing the right thing and covering the difference. Do not give this company your business you will regret it. In the end I lost out on thousands of dollars because I could not put my house on the market and my family was inconvenienced. read more

We had an excellent experience with Window Solutions. We're renters and needed to have our old rusted or jammed windows replaced in our house. Window Solution worked with our landlord in providing timely, accurate quotes and working out payment details. They stayed on schedule, from quote to installation day was less than 2 weeks. It cost just over $3,000 to have 9 aluminum windows replaced with nice white vinyl ones. What a difference its made in heating cost and really blocks out the sound of the noisy neighborhood kids playing. read more

Not sure what happened here, but this company has a ton of good reviews. I called for an estimate and there tech came out, but couldnt' give me an estimate at that time and said he need to talk to his boss. The tech was a really nice guy and I told him no problem and gave him the $75 for th estimate and he said I'll receive a call the next day. I didn't get a call, I waited a few more days and also noticed they didn't cash my check yet. Nobody called me back in a week. I called them and spoke with the lady on the phone and she was clueless. She said she couldn't find anything for me and was asking who my sales person was and I told her I didn't speak to a sales person, so she had to call me back. Finally got a call a few days later from the sales person( she was out sick for a week) and gave me the estimate. I let her know that I needed to talk to my wife. I called back a couple of day's later and the same thing happened, the person on the phone couldn't find me in the system. I explained to her nicely on the situtation and that somebody came out, I got and estimate and now I'm callin back to setup a time. They had to call me back again and this time it was a different lady wanting to setup an appointment for somebody to come out and I had to explain it for the second time. They had to call me back again and this time it was the correct lady and she said her boss was out on vacation and they are busy until the middle of Oct. and she said they can probably squeeze us in on the following Monday, but she'll have to run it by her boss who is out. They cashed my check and have never called me back til this day. I get they were busy, but a call saying they couldn't fit us in would have been nice. During all the calls I was very polite and was getting angry with them even though I wanted to. read more

Window Solutions came recommended by a window manufacturer. They came to our house to fix our double sliders. They sprayed some WD-40, said they would order a part for the broken track, collected the $75 fee and left. About a week later they called saying the part was ready and that I would have to pay another $75 for them to come to the house. I stated that I had already paid the $75 for the first visit and that this was simply to install a $20 track. When I asked to speak with the manager, she responded to my inquiry about paying the additional $75 with "we have to make some money here. I am not in business to not make money." I was stunned by her response. I agreed to pay the $75 even though I felt like I was being ripped off. When Mike came to install the part and attempt to fix the doors again unsuccessfully, he proceeded to yell at me that he was doing the best he could when I asked why the door would not open when before he had arrived one of them opened and now both did not open. I was so upset my husband had to come home and deal with him. If you are looking for a company that will actually repair your sliding doors, not rip you off and offer even the smallest amount of customer service, I would go elsewhere! read more

Replaced my two 30" entry doors with a 36" and two side panel custom painted door. Windows Solutions have done two previous jobs for me and they exceeded my expectations both times, so I wasn't going to let anyone else do the work. They did a beautiful job and even once again managed to please my wife. They were on time, (and even picked up the door for me at a local lumber yard), installed, trimmed out, and painted the trim. I can't say enough for the company, they are easy to contact, via email, or phone and they always respond quickly. They are honest and up front about all details relating to the work to be done. They leave the work area cleaner then when they arrived. I have now had all windows in house, patio door, garden window and replaced a window with door by this company. Some day I will be replacing my interior doors and this is the only company I will call. Highly recommended. read more
