The landscaping in the front of our town home building hadn't been touched in several years. Weeds…read moreand overgrowth were everywhere, it was a mess. We contacted Design Concepts to come to the rescue. Within a couple hours, we had a callback from Dave. We scheduled a site visit and were impressed enough to move forward with a design. Dave came out a couple days later with a beautiful color drawing that detailed all of our possible options, presented an itemized quote of all the work that would be involved, and gave us a list of 15 references we could call on for peace of mind. We presented this to our town home association board and they were so impressed that they decided we should do the courtyard as well. We signed the paperwork and a few days later Dave and his crew were cleaning up all the weeds, removing overgrown trees and bushes, and trimming trees. Then they installed a beautiful stone walkway, fertilizers, mulch, a wonderful assortment of plants and bushes in the front and flowers in the courtyard. They cleaned up everything and provided us with watering instructions and plans to add to our design for next year. Its difficult to please all members of a town home or condo association but Dave and Design Concepts did the job. We plan on using them for many years for all of our landscaping needs. We also found out they do more than just landscaping and have already begun plans to have them work on the interior of our house. We hired them to finish our basement and upgrade our…read morestairwell and they did a terrible job. among other things, they framed a doorway but left 8" shims on the inside which support it, they trimmed a stairwell but it's not level nor did they finish a bottom edge, the baseboards don't meet at the corners/edges, a scuttle doorway was finished on the outside sans door knobs but it's all raw edged drywall on the inside, they hung doors but didn't provide door knobs, etc., etc. In addition, they didn't come prepared and had no idea what was going on when they got here. If I had more energy and time, I should have sued them. Instead I'm writing this post so you don't make the same mistake we did. I used Chi Renovation to upgrade my primary bathroom. The design process was a big lengthened,…read moreespecially since I had a clear idea of what I wanted. I was working with a more junior designer, and replies were sometimes delayed. Once we got into build phase, the process ran really smoothly. I worked primarily with Daniel who was coordinating everything, and he was very communicative. Everyone who worked on the project (tiling, plumbing, electrical) was prompt and attentive. There was a small snag at the end where my heated floors weren't heating. Daniel made sure to get the electrician, tiling professional, and heated floor professional on site to quickly identify the problem and remedy. The whole process from signing contract to completed bathroom was about six months. Longer than I was expecting, but happy to have had Chi Renovation coordinating all the moving pieces.
