Yesterday we went in to have a lock in the garage match front door so we wouldn't have a lot keys for my partners second home. My partner called the locksmith the next day and the locksmith understandably was busy. Now busy does not have to be rude. He was asking her a simple question and she said I'm extremely busy and he wanted something simple to be answered. Wow! Her response was, " I am hanging up now!!" Where is the customer service? I'm sorry that is an F- in my book in customer service. The saving grace is that the owner apologized for her lack of manners. No couth! It's the only locksmith around. Hopefully that will never happens again. I guess it's hard to get quality help this days! read more

I needed a duplicate key for my 2016 Prius. The dealers in Napa and Petaluma charge about $450. Wilson's ordered a key online and programmed it at the shop while I waited. It came to $212 -- less than half of what the Toyota dealers charge. The staff at Wilson's are friendly and highly competent. read more

I stopped to have some extra house keys made and see if they could make a duplicate car key for me. They were so nice, my car key was very worn and it didn't work very well. They gave it to me at no cost so I would have a spare and told me how to get a factory key from the dealer. If a dealer can't help me or is very expensive they can help by contacting Subaru with my vin number. Their customer service is outstanding. read more

I went into the shop in Sonoma to have a key made and the lady at the counter was so rude and not very helpful at all - she basically told me to come back another day because she did not want to help me. I've never been in the store since we have always had our tenants call for service - Unfortunately after 20plus years of being a business owner in Sonoma we will no longer be using Wilson's locksmith. They have always done such a great job and we have been very pleased with there work there on time -honest - reasonable pricing but it's not worth being disrespected! read more

I called Wilsons locksmith to have worked on at my home upon mentioning it was a time sensitive the matter. The representative informed me she did not care and was not interested in any personal information, trying to be clear about my request for what I needed I was met with a barrage of expletives that she had no time to help then that was fallowed up by being called a bitch and hung up on. I have never experienced such disrespect, and awful customer service in our sweet town of Sonoma. read more

Scanning through reviews in general, and especially the ones for this company, has led me to three conclusions: 1) Reviews aren't always accurate; 2) In the bigger picture, extremely few people actually leave reviews; & 3) The whole process of "reviews" can too often be a gaslighting experience (both pro & con). Wilson's Locksmith & Security Center, specifically the two individuals whom I dealt with, are possibly the rudest experience I've ever experienced from a small business in my life (I'm 57). I can think of times where even if I was somewhat unhappy with a certain business, I may still go back in a pinch if they did good work that I can count on. I wouldn't use the services of this business again under any circumstances! The person who works the phone is always spitting venom! This person is the same as someone whom you may deal with who gives someone a hard look and listens impatiently while trying to find fault! If this company was on the level, this person would immediately be given their walking papers! The service person who came over snapped at even the smallest hint of "putting him out." Another "tough guy" crybaby! Apparently the customer is always wrong! Actually what he ended up suggesting was correct, and I agreed, but I could have done without the combative attitude! As I give this review, I'm also trying to think of any service-oriented business that I've ever dealt with which operated with this type of attitude towards a customer. So far, I can't! Dealing with this business was one absolutely ROTTEN experience. I'm aware that this review will not hurt their business, but I can't imagine rewarding this type of attitude. Needed to make copies of my keys while in town and a local suggested Wilson's and glad to say that it was a pretty good recommendation! Quick and easy! I got a new set of keys in about five minutes and I was out the door. Definitely pricier than using a self-service machine at Home Depot or Lowe's since those usually cost me a dollar per key compared to Wilson's services which cost me about 2 keys for about five dollars. In addition to making keys, they also sell accessories for your keys as well as locks for your doors and even safes! read more

Had some complications with one of their keys working in a lock last time I was there, and the guy walked out of the shop and around the corner to my house just to see what was going on, and got it straightened out. The expression "buy local" was coined because of businesses like Wilson's. From the large selection of key blanks and reasonable pricing to the lovely, knowledgeable lady who helped me to the adorable dog keeping watch (hi Scout), this is the kind of independent business you want to support. They found a blank for my rather unusual key and made me two copies. They can also make and program key fobs for a fraction of what car dealerships charge. A big thank you to the folks at Wilson's. I had a key pad lock on my front door that failed and I called to schedule an appointment. Trudy in the office did an amazing job trying to talk me through a way to reset the lock so they would not need to visit. Although the instructions were perfect, I was unable to get the lock to reset. Trudy called one of the field techs, Sean, and he was at my house in 30 minutes. Not only did he repair the lock he addressed an issue I had with the front door, where it was scraping upon entry and closing. I could not be more pleased, within 60 minutes of calling in my issue was fixed, I can't recall the last time that happened, if ever. read more

One of our installers locked the keys in the truck while getting lunch today. After an annoying experience calling another place in Sonoma who said they didn't offer service in that area of Sonoma, weird. I called Sean at Wilson's. 15 min later a tech was at the truck. 5 mins later they were on the road again. Sean called me half hour or so later to get payment over the phone. It really depends on who owns the business when you walk in. This place has turned over (and back?) many times over the past 20 years. Sometimes just great. Others...Last time in was a snarky bit of bull. I asked for 3 keys made to go with a Kwikset rekey installation. I wished a random cut with two to match. What I got was three from his bin that were the 'included keys' from a bulk K box. All the same with the 4 pips if you know what I mean. $10. Really. Hope a new owner shows up again, real soon. Until then, well Lowe's does a great job. read more
