My car key broke and ignition switch was locked. My car was stuck a mile from home parked on the side of the street. When I called in, the message directed me to text for a fast response. I did and got a response in less than 30 minutes. Val was extremely communicative (explaining what he estimated the problem was based on my description, then letting me know that he could start early when other work wrapped up). Pricing was clear and I felt educated and taken care of. He came to where the car was, saving me from having to tow it! When he was done, I had a new key and it turned on like a charm. (He even let me keep the part he replaced so I could show my kiddo). Any future locksmith needs, this will be the call (or text) I make. read more

He has done 2 key fobs for us, responsive, fast, and zero issues. Would recommend and will connect again when we are in need!

Responsive, friendly, works to make things right the first time. Very dependable and trustworthy.

Great communication and service. Have had them over twice and they have been so helpful each time!

Expert analysis of the problem. I'd use him again, without hesitation. On time; second time I've used him. As it turned out, it was the ignition switch so I needed a mechanic. Val wouldn't charge me; I gave him $20 cash. Ahhhhh the life of a car Thank you! read more

Great communication and great service. I called them to install a new lock and door handle on my car after an attempted break-in. Val told me how to get the parts I needed and promptly installed them after they arrived. I enjoyed talking with his Dad, who came along to help with removing the interior door panel. Pricing was more than fair. I would definitely call them again. read more

Do great work. I lost my jeys and had none to copy. He really knows auto keys and did a great job reprogramming mine.

Showed up on time, handled my job promptly and accurately, and price was fair. Would definitely use Tapia again.

These guys got me out of a bind. It was after hours and I had an urgent problem. They were busy, but took care of my issue quickly and got back to their other tasks. It seems like they are a family business and they are all really nice, good people. They can handle a wide range of key/ lock jobs. read more

I called Tapia due to their outstanding Yelp reviews - we had a problem with a deadbolt at our house. Jesus reached out to me the next day, got my address, and arrived that same afternoon. As soon as he saw the problem he knew exactly what it was and how to fix it. 20 minutes later it was done! He said that because it was an easy fix he would just charge me their standard trip charge, with no additional labor charges. He was very professional, knowledgeable and kind. I couldn't be happier! read more

the best in town, fast service, super friendly, super knowledgeable!!! 100% reccomend

Had lost both of my key fobs and was referred to Tapia thru our local locksmith. I had ordered key fob thru Amazon. After our conversation I was told that aftermarket wouldn't work and I would have to buy OEM key from him. I returned the key I ordered but still had one I had acquired a while back. He was able to program the key I had bought off of amazon and informed me so, charged me less than original quote. Happy with prompt response and honesty. Would recommend and use again read more

Great job of taking care of a new house rekey job. Next day service. Showed up when promised.

Issue with the bathroom being locked from the inside. Called them and they gave me a price quote, and a time estimate. The service was quick in less than 3 mins. They opened the door, and even made me a key. Very reliable and fast! read more

I have used Tapia for my business and personal lock and keys. Each time I call I am so impressed with the level of professionalism and customer service. I have had some urgent lock and key issues and they always show up with a sense of urgency and want to help. I trust them and they actually care about the customer. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future. read more

Val is just Aces, hands down. I am having a problem with the Saleen and it not starting due to calibration with the keys. I texted him up and told him the issue. Instead of him capitalizing on my stupidity of thinking its all key, he explained to me its not really the keys at all but its an issue with the ignition cylinder of the PCM, which saved me money with him, but led to money with someone else but point being, he is honest and really down to earth and wants to get you the help you need. So whether its home or auto, this cool cat has got you covered. I think this is really your one stop shop for what you need! read more

Val is amazing! He is a family man and a local and for those reasons alone we might consider supporting his small business. That being said, he is a locksmith extraordinaire! He has helped me and my family multiple times, and most recently replied and arrived within 15 minutes of my request to help me change the lock on my storage unit. Cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

When we moved to Napa in 2013, Tapia Locksmith rekeyed our entire home and added an electronic deadbolt to our front door (it previously didn't have one!) When our old Lexus key snapped off the electronic casing, I knew exactly who to call. Scheduling was quick and easy via text and the cost was exactly what was quoted. We now have 2 functioning keys with buttons for our 2007 Lexus at a fraction of the cost of going to the dealership. Plus it was done quickly and in my driveway. Over the top professionalism, courtesy, fair pricing, there is nowhere else to go in Napa for all your lock needs! read more

No doubt about it --Tapia is the real deal ! Owner Val, and his able young assistant, were right on time. Val set to work and he did a great job. It was not a big job- installing one lockable doorknob to my in-home office. Still, it had some issues and Val, assisted by his son, made everything right. He was polite, knowledgeable, well stocked and his fees were very fair (compared to what some other locksmiths quoted me). Home, work or auto - he does it all. He has 24/7 emergency services too. Rest assured, I will be calling Val @ Tapia Locksmith for any future locksmith needs. read more

Jesus and Juan showed up on time with masks and were extremely polite and professional. Jesus remembered doing my locks 8 years ago, and I received the same great service again. Highly Recommended!!! read more

Excellent service!! Not only did the owner text me back after closing hour to book my appointment, but he had me send a picture of my lock to make sure they had it in stock ( they did and it's not a usual kind). Next day Jesus came (called to let me know he was on the way) and replaced my lock and re-keyed to my key in about 20 min. He was knowledgeable and friendly and just a delight! He even looked at my French door handles and made an adjustment for me for free. So grateful as they now open and close so much better! Thank you, I am a customer for life! read more

Wow. Just when I almost stopped believing in customer service and professionalism, I met Val with Tapia Locksmith. He called me right back, showed up the same day (in 20 minutes, no less), and did an amazing job replacing my locks AND resetting my garage door opener and car. He was profesional, quick, kind, and just a cool person. Reasonably priced and quality work. Thank you Tapia Locksmith!!! read more

I would never use this locksmith I had an appointment with Val at 12:00 PM he called and asked if he could come early, I said, no, 12:00 is great. At 11:45 AM I walk out to my car and Val has opened my car door and trunk and is inside my car this is not only unprofessional but unacceptable! Val also hustled me I wanted only 1 key replaced he wanted to sell me two keys, a remote, replace my house keys, a real hustler. He also screwed up my security system my alarm goes off when I open the passenger door. Zero stars avoid this man! Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone Get Outlook for Android read more

Tapia Locksmith saved me and my kids today! I accidentally locked my keys inside my car while grocery shopping with my kids at 730 in the evening and it was cold. I looked up a lock smith and found this one, it said closed but I texted him and he replied right away. He let me know he would be there in 5-10 minutes. He got to where I was really fast and opened my car in less than five minutes. Thank you so much for your awesome service! I would 10/10 recommend! read more

Responded same day and rekeyed my whole house for a very reasonable price! Also just a lovely human.

I had a keyless deadbolt installed. Good communication with friendly, professional service. Val was very thorough in making sure that I knew how to use the keyless deadbolt and made sure to leave me with my old hardware for future use. I appreciated his attention to detail and his thoughtfulness. read more

Val Tapia is easy to deal with, professional, on time and reasonably priced. And of course got the job done.

Val did what he could to squeeze me into his busy day when I needed urgent services to rekey my car. Other places were quoting me a two day wait period and he made it to my car within an hour of my service request and worked diligently through several issues he encountered to create my new car keys, including a spare to prevent me from dealing with this issue again. Highly recommend. read more

My daughter was locked out of her room. I sent a message to this company at 7:30am and he got back to me right away. I needed a morning appointment on the same day and was able to be here by 10am. He was able to jimmy the door in seconds and noticed the lock was on the wrong side (brand new house and installed in correctly) He fixed it and now we are able to open it with a pin from now on. Also, I haven't been able to open my glovebox in my mini van and couldn't figure out why. He said it is because it's a valet key and not master key. So, I'm having him make me a master key. Great company to call in a pinch and his prices are reasonable. I will keep his card on file. read more
