I honestly didn't think service like this still existed--especially in California. Called John at 7 PM on a Friday night, right in the middle of dinner, and he actually answered the phone himself. Within 35 minutes, he was at the house and had the broken lock fixed quickly and efficiently. I called 3 others with no return call. What really stood out was his level of trust and old-school professionalism. He doesn't take digital payments, but was completely willing to let me mail him a check. That kind of integrity and reliability is rare these days. This felt like the kind of service you hear about in the 50's --honest, responsive, and genuinely caring. I'm beyond appreciative and honestly a little blown away. Highly recommend if you want someone dependable who truly shows up when you need them. read more

Thank goodness for John! Saturday afternoon and I locked my keys in the house, along with my dog and cat. I called his cell per the shop recording and he was out to our place in 30 minutes (and I live in Petaluma). Really reasonably priced and got me back into my home quickly! read more

John was a lifesaver when we had a security situation and he quickly responded to a call for help, arriving at 6PM on a Saturday after driving from Sonoma to the West County. We had tried others closer to home but no one was even answering calls on a Saturday afternoon. On top of that, his invoice was amazingly reasonable considering the travel time and the time it took to complete the work once he arrived. Would give him 10 stars if I could read more

John comes out to your place and makes Keys and locks. Just make an appointment and he's there! Came to us in Kenwood. read more

John was really great. I called him at 8 in the morning after deciding the night before that I didn't want to leave my house the next day until I had the locks changed--after a certain someone moved out suddenly. *ahem* John said he would be there in half an hour and was true to his word. He gave me a very fair estimate without any pressure--and I immediately agreed. John was interesting, kind, understanding, and funny. I would hire him again without question--and if I ever need this sort of service again I will! I'm glad I found his good reviews here, and I'm glad I called him and no one else. If you're in Sonoma or the surrounding areas--do yourself a favor and just call John at Sonoma Security Lock Safe & Key....don't bother with the hassle of calling anyone else! For real! :) read more

John is a competent, honest and dependable locksmith who charges reasonable rates. His shop is a funky, disheveled space and his personality is offbeat and colorful. Just what I usually like in a proprietor. Update: He did mess up one key to of a medium sized order, so not perfect, but still good. His rabid Trump support is a huge turnoff for me (Has "Lock her up!" bumper stickers on his truck!). read more

I haven't had to use their locksmith services yet (knock on wood) but I did get a bunch of keys made here. You call to make an appointment, John meets you at the shop, runs off a bunch of keys, and you're on your way. Solid, friendly service. It's super convenient if you know when you'll be free, but don't have enough time to wait in line at a hardware store. read more

We called John out to open a locked door, and he not only fixed the door but went on to do a full repair on a sliding glass door that was way beyond the call of duty, and he fixed other problem doors and locks. Friendly and dedicated, I can't say enough about the service. read more

Managed to lock ourselves out of the house late Saturday and the response was quick and professional. Just a 30 minute wait and he showed up and opened the door promptly. I would definitely recommend this service to a friend and I would use this company again if I had any car or house lock trouble. The availability on such short notice was really crucial and appreciated. read more

John Duffy is a life saver. I had a broken house key and I called this man at 8am on a Sunday morning. If anyone called me on a Sunday morning that early I probably wouldn't answer. I mean who would. But For him to answer and be so caring and flexible was amazing. I went from panic to at ease. Within minutes he not only fixed and made me one but two for backup. The keys he made worked better than the original. I highly recommend him. John Duffy is the man!! Thanks again. Happy Sunday! read more

John has providing locksmith services for our family and businesses for over 20 years. He has always been reliable, trustworthy, and diligent. I hesitate to even have a key made elsewhere, as I'd rather give him the business. 6 stars. My only complaint is that I've never had a locked safe for him to try and get into. Someday.... read more

Yeah Yeah Yeah and Blah Blah Blah...I mean it doesn't get better than the best so where's the Six Stars option? There is an unspoken trust engaged when one provides you with passage to your life and or possessions and it's how you feel as they or you drive away and thank yous are understated, thanks John. read more

RUDE customer service. I called to get a quote for my key that I had locked in my room and he said that he doesn't give quotes until after the job is done. I didn't like the sound of that because he could rip me off easily and so I said "thank you but I'm looking for someone who can give me a quote." He said "OK BITCH." and then hung up on me. So annoying. I'd never recommend this lock smith because there was no reason to call me names. read more

There was more to be done than anticipated. We negotiated a price for everything. John patiently did everything and did it right. Put in deadbolt, matched a couple garage door keys, fixed my front door alignment and re-keyed, and it all works very well. Dead bolts are more work than you might think. read more

John is a knowledgeable, professional locksmith. I highly recommend his services! I found myself in a bit of a jam, and needed lock service on a Saturday evening. He came right out and fixed my lock. I will absolutely use John for any, and all my locksmith service needs in the future. read more

I am so pleased with John's service. I have used him twice now over the years. He is always very friendly and down to earth. He is extremely honest and helpful. He not only changed our locks but he fixed our doors that weren't closing right and tried not to charge for that extra service. Then he ran out to his truck and ran off as many keys as I needed. Also, I got same day service. Thank you John! read more

John was great! Showed up right on time, was very helpful, gave great advice, knew what he was talking about, and now the job is done. Highly recommended! read more

John provides a great local service. John has come to my home twice; once because I locked my only set of car keys in the car (on a holiday weekend), and recently because I locked myself out of the house (at 5:30 on a Friday night). Both times he answered the phone himself (a real person? what a surprise), arrived at my place within 15 minutes (how refreshing ... he did what he said he would do) and got the job done within 10 minutes for a reasonable price (doesn't get better than that!). He made extra keys for me both times, and hid a magnetic key box in my car too. All the while keeping up a friendly conversation. Thanks John! read more

John did a great job for us in rekeying our locks. He was kind, professional and very reasonable. Also, he was able to work us in on short notice. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of residential lock services. I'd definitely use him again if we need a locksmith. read more

Sonoma Security operates the way I wish all companies operated. With honesty, integrity and a desire to do the right job the first time. John came to my house in Napa, and rekeyed all the doors as directed, but he didn't stop there. John corrected the alignment, suggested improvements, and even went so far as to address an issue of aesthetics. When John left is was as if saying good-bye to a old friend. read more
