Sunday morning. Difficult electronic car key. Rental car. Keys lost in balloon flight. Val cuts his family breakfast short and shows up by 11:30. He spent 2 hours solving problems, testing keys, reprogramming chips. He should have given up but didn't and saved our last 2 days of vacation by creating two new electronic keys. Incredible, reliable service. Hope he builds a chain of locksmiths and makes millions bringing his professionalism to the business. read more

Note to all, that PVC bar you use to stop intruders from entering siding glass doors... can fall back down and lock you out We accidentally locked ourselves in our backyard on a Friday afternoon. Locksmiths were showing up closed during our Google search and we were super concerned about how to get back into the house. I received the voicemail message that said to text for an appointment. I texted, hoping that Val would answer. Val quickly responded and had us back in our house about 20 minutes after that text. Thank you SO SO MUCH! read more

I messaged Val two days ago about a service to program another key for my car. Val responded super fast, provided the cost for service and let me know his availability. I immediately booked time with him. Val called me a couple hours ahead of our appointment. He let me know he was a little behind. This is great. I'm glad to communicated this to me. As long as I'm in the know it's all great. Val took care of programming, explained what he did and finished up. What a great mobile service. Val rocks! read more

A review of my (lack of) reviews will tell you I am not a regular poster, but..... Val at Tapia was by far the best vendor I have used recently. Locked my keys in the trunk (duh). Called Val, got a quick call back, and he was at the house (Napa) within minutes of the estimated time. We shook hands and he got to work, quickly opening the car "old school" with picks rather than using an air wedge that AAA or others might use to force the issue, avoiding potential damage to the car. Then he made me a second electronic key onsite to avoid future problems and, as a bonus, harvested the car door numerical code which I never had since I bought the car used. Boom! Done and done in less than a half hour, all the above for less than the dealer would have charged me for a duplicate key. So good to have a solid vendor in this area, not just for cars but for all locksmith needs. read more

I've called Tapia twice in the past year, sensing a trend. Val was quick to respond, professional and efficient. If I find myself in need again, I won't hesitate to call. I would HIGHLY recommend Tapia to anyone in need of a locksmith. read more

Was able to contact them via email to replace a non-working Mini Cooper key fob. Top notch company, explained the process, saved me money and trouble over a dealer. You've got to appreciate seeing someone work that really knows his stuff. Keeping his card in the glovebox. read more

Excellent customer service and very professional. We recently bought our house and needed the lock on our front door rekeyed. Val was very responsive, affordable and definitely took care of us. We recommend him to anyone who is in need of a locksmith. He has 5 star reviews for a reason y'all. He's the man! read more

I have managed to lock myself out of my home twice now and both times I called Tapia and was very pleased. The first time I actually got stuck on my second story patio and so he had to go through two doors to get me in - I was so worried I would be late picking up my kids but he got to my place in less than 20 minuets of my call and it didn't even take 5 for him to get in and let me out. The second time I managed to lock myself (and my son) out in our pajamas while doing laundry and again he was here in less than 20 minuets (which was a relief because-of course- my son had to go to the bathroom BAD). It cost $60 each time to get back in and I have no idea what's "normal" for this kind of thing but he was so quick and so nice it was totally worth it to me. read more

I locked my keys and phone in my trunk outside of Target. I used their customer service phone to call a locksmith number provided by an employee which almost scammed me. After waiting for hours, I finally asked to use someone's phone and I found Tapia Locksmith. He came within 10 minutes and was so fast, friendly, and efficient. He was even able to provide a copy of my key right from his van. Awesome business, would 10/10 recommend! read more

Bottom line this guy is great and he isn't out to get your money and rip you off, he actually is reasonable with prices, and he always responds quickly! read more

Tapia Locksmith came out to remake keys for our truck after we lost our keys playing golf. They were highly professional and arrived in a timely manner. They went above and beyond to take care of us and get us home even after they had closed for the day. 10/10 would recommend. read more

My case presented a particular challenge but he never gave up. Great value for the money at this veteran-owner small business.

I've used Tapia Locksmith for both personal and business needs. Val and his father are very responsive, detail oriented, and professional. They take the extra time to do a job correctly and stand behind their work. Val communicates well regarding their availability and progress on jobs. The only downside is that he is very busy. I will continue to use Tapia Locksmith, and recommend them to my friends and family. read more

I called Val because I locked the keys inside my vintage VW. He met me at my house within 10 minutes of the call, and unlocked the door within about 10 seconds. I was very happy to pay his reasonable rate for this super efficient service! And, at his suggestion, went straight to a local key shop to get a duplicate set of keys cut to avoid future lockouts. Val was courteous and professional and I would call him in the future for lock work. read more

BEST locksmith in Napa. Came to my home in very short order and unjammed the key from my auto ignition. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and had to call and Val came again. He fixed the problem immediately! Thank goodness we have so many wonderful business persons as we have in Napa. I recommend this business unconditionally. read more

Val was great. He texted me that he was running late through Yelp. He was quick and thorough and explained how the new lock he installed worked. He also used the old lock and moved it to another door. He also showed us how to rekey our lock if we wanted to have it match an existing key. He is very knowledgeable and is up to date on the latest technology. I highly recommend him. Unfortunately, he is mobile if someone is looking for a brick and mortar locksmith, however he will recommend his competitor to anyone who calls looking. I would not hesitate to call and use him again. read more

Tapia Locksmith - Got my key reprogram by Val, salamat po! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

Tapia locksmith was so accommodating! We were moving offices in the first locksmith that I called said he needed to order parts but never got back to me. At the last minute I called Tapia locksmith And they were out by noon that same day! They saved the day! We will continue to use them as needs arise. read more

These guys were great, had a bunch of unmatched keys and a few doors we didn't even have keys for after buying a house, they talked us through the options (new locks vs picking the existing and how to get them all on the same key), got a solution we were happy with to put everything on the same key and now we've got a house with one key to operate everything for a reasonable price. read more

Very friendly and professional. Also very fast, was able to program and cut two keys for our vehicles within 30 minutes. I had an urgent (but not emergency) need for a lock change. Tapia Locksmith was able to come within half an hour. Fast, efficient, polite. I recommend them highly! Will have them back for future needs. read more

This guy is the man. I've had to call enough scuzzy untrustworthy tow truck drivers to really appreciate this guys professionalism and timeliness. He got to me within minutes and got my car unlocked in a real mindful way that didn't damage the cars sealing. The last tow truck driver did damage it and could have been avoided with a bit of care and insight (like how Tapia locksmith did it this time). He also cut a copy of a new key for me right there on the spot -- you can get just a functional key that will open the door or one that will start the engine with the chip in it. I got the one with the chip in it, glad I did to save me in case this happens again. Thanks again brother really helped out my day. read more

Val can make any key you need . He is also reasonable and always on time . Don't hesitate to call!!! He's the best in the valley!!'

My husband and I forgot our key to our Napa home and it would have taken more than 4 hours round-trip to retrieve them. I called Val and he was so pleasant from the start. He never made us feel foolish (we certainly did). He came promptly as promised. Our lock was more complex so it took a longer time than anticipated, in opening the door. Plus the cylinder had to be replaced, which required additional time. Nevertheless he stayed within his initial estimate, which we greatly appreciated. Val well deserves SIX stars: punctual, professional, patient, persevering, fair pricing, and pleasant personality! read more

Thank you Yelp community for connecting me to a legit, ethical, knowledgeable locksmith in a town I just moved to. When you read about all of the yellow page and even google search scams in the world of home repair and service technicians, Yelp is really the only way to find the genuine ratings around who can do what and for how much. Val from Tapia met me at a home I just purchased in the wine country. He was easy to connect with, super friendly over the phone, and arrived pretty much on time to our scheduled appointment (admittedly he was 10 minutes late but he did call and I do live in the middle of nowhere). I was so impressed with his knowledge about every kind of lock I showed him (either needing repair or rekeying) and he took the time to answer all of my questions to the point where I felt like i could be his locksmith intern. He arrived in uniform, in a well stocked locksmith van and set up a work station outside that he left completely clean and picked up when done. The work he did was professional and first class. I was charged a very fair price for his services considering this was a friday evening and he spent several hours with me to do the work. You can tell that he really loves his professional and i was super happy to support a local small business owner that cares about his craft and his customers. I cannot recommend this young man highly enough to anyone needing locksmith assistance in the napa valley. 6 stars if I could. read more

Tremendous service. My husband contacted Val at Tapia, and he and his dad, Jesus, showed up and did a great job for us. Our used car only came with one key fob and no emergency key cut. Tapia programmed a new fob and cut our existing key and made a second one for us as well. Courteous, trustworthy, and professional. We would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest locksmith. read more

Besides doing excellent work, Val was three "very's": prompt; courteous and reasonable price for re-keying our locks in St. Helena. Although this was a routine appointment, my gut feeling is he would also be great in an emergency. We picked him (no pun intended) based upon other Yelp reviews, because we are new to the area. The other reviewers were spot on! Follow-up on Sunday March 29, 2015 afternoon: After the great experience at home, I called Val in a panic today. My previous review cited "gut feel" that Val would be great in an emergency. Well, the "emergency" happened. The key to my old Toyota Camry broke off in the trunk lock. Thankfully, I had a spare key so the car could be driven, but still, my trunk was non-functional. Val answered the phone on the second ring, came out within 15 minutes and solved the problem. Lubricated the lock, cut a spare key, and on my way, as if nothing happened to me. This could have been disaster if not for the spare key AND Val. What great service (again)!!! read more

Had four house locks with four different keys. Tapia Locksmith (Val Tapia) came to my home with in the hour I called, he was neat, clean, friendly and knew what he was doing. Thank you soooooo much Val!!! You were a lifesaver. Val was very punctual...he said he will try to be here by 4am and he was (this just happened about 30 mins ago). He worked very diligently and fast. He is also very nice and was giving tips. Again, thank you and More power to you! :D read more

As soon as I saw all of the excellent reviews for Val's services, I knew I wanted to work with him, and I am incredibly glad that I did because I now have someone that I will readily recommend to anyone in need of the services of a skilled locksmith! I called him at 4:30 after giving up on finding the lost keys to my Corolla. He showed up within an hour (earlier than anticipated), and was able to get right to work on removing my lock to make key copies. He was kind and curteous the entire time, and just a pleasure to be around. He also taught my grandfather and I about the valet feature for our Corollas, which neither of us had any idea about. I'm just super impressed by how quickly he was able to work, and his passion for his job. He has definitely earned his five stars! read more

Solid. Not much to add that hasn't already been said, prompt, respectful, efficient, and very competitively priced. Val gave me two new "chipped" keyless entry keys for my toyota at less than half the cost the dealer was going to charge. Call Tapia today! read more

Very professional service. Val quickly responded to my request to change 3 locks. He did a great job. Highly recommended!

At a fraction of the cost of what car dealerships charge, the price I paid (and the service I got) was simply awesome! Here's my story: I contracted with Val, the proprietor, to have three car keys cut and programmed - two for a 2007 Toyota RAV4 and one for a 2003 Toyota Camry. Not only did Val arrive on time, his key duplication skills were quite impressive. In other words, he truly knew his stuff. TIP: Buy your *compatible* uncut keys from Amazon (or ask Val if he has any on stock), then call and watch him work his magic! read more
