So disappointed. This is my 1st time at this place worst service ever, wait, no service whatsoever. Waited 20 mins no one came and serve us, all the waiter just walk past us and help everyone around us which was seated after us. We decided to leave but I wanted to let the manager know about our experience. I was at Willy McCoy's in Champlin a week or two ago and was very impressed. I was with a party of about 9 who haven't seen one another for many years. We were given a place to sit that was almost like a private nook that was perfect. The waitstaff was patient with us, and it was just a real pleasant place to be. Thank you, I'll be back. read more

This place is close to my house so we go alot plus they have 2for 1s. I usually get a burger but got the nachos tonight. They were ok I'm not sure if it's the spice but it tasted weird plus they charged me 2 dollars for salsa!!? What nachos doesn't have salsa I noticed they upcharge for everything that's a turn off. My 5 year old had the chicken strip meal and they were good. Waitress was nice. I think they cater alot to their locals and keep them happy and kinda slow for everyone else. Went there on a Saturday night around 10 o'clock and: There's employees drinking with their staff shirts on. Pool table was out of order. Hockey game ate our money. Gross chicken wings- Over fried, badly seasoned and tiny. Bad service. Seems like the place had nobody in charge and the inmates were running the prison. It's bad enough having to spend time in God forsaken Champlin but when a place manages to screw up fried food you know you've found someplace really "special". read more

If you want some rude servers that hardly pay attention to you and luke warm food that takes forever, give this place a go.

The server comes to the table. "What can I get you to drink?" Fail. No "hi guys, welcome", no "have you been in before?" No "my names steve and I'm gonna be taking care of you guys". I ask for a beer list. He whips out his smartphone and pulls it up and drops it in front of me to scroll through. They have this smartphone table side ordering app. It looks weird to me as all the servers are walking around on their phones. Maybe working. Maybe doing status updates. Who knows? I ask about a beer. He can't tell me about it. Fail. Food was pretty good. I had a french dip that they make with shredded pot roast. Coleslaw though had celery seed in it. So for the rest of the evening I was biting into celery seed. Unpleasant. The server didn't check back and it took him forever to bring the check. I actually had to hunt him down for it. Space was nice. Food was better than average and the server was nice enough, but lacked any real training or systems or leadership. Almost Willy. We went out to dinner with friends on Saturday January 9th at 5pm. The place was very busy but not standing room only. (yet) The TV volume was down lown but so were the lights! We had to use our phone flashlights to read the menu. Our server was very friendly and capable, but I wasn't impressed that the servers were using their cell phones for order taking. It looks very unprofessional. We order the cheese curds to start and I tell ya, they were VERY yummy. The best we've had outside the state fair. I had the walleye with veggies and a cup of wild rice soup.The soup was yummy but only warm, not hot. The walleye was good but not over the moon great. The veggies are also only warm, but only okay. As we sat after dinner the room became very busy and very loud. It didn't help that they turned on what ever game was on at the moment and turned the volume up. We left soon after that and it became standing room only and people waiting to be seated. Over all we had an okay time and we'll go again to see if things improve. Worth a stop in, but will take more than once to get the total feel of the location. read more

Came here tonight to celebrate my nieces birthday. I ordered the Sweet Heat Chicken Sandwich. Delicious. Chicken was moist and bacon was done to my liking. I ordered Coleslaw. It was ok..but good. Our server, Samantha H, deserves a High five!! She was awesome. She was calm and got everyone order right. She was available when she needed to be . She was not pushy at all. The drink menu at this bar is to die for ! Even when this place is placed they manage to have the best service. Bartender Mark is outstanding he is always holding down the bar and keeping up with everyone what great bartender i always tip him 30%. Horrible!! We've been here a couple times and it's been okay, however we went in for lunch yesterday and it was awful...we ordered about 12:30, the food came out around 1:15 and it was all cold, my burger was on the raw side with no seasoning and the bun felt like it came out of the fridge and was then dipped in grease. Our entire group had cold fries too. When the waitress came to check on our food we told how bad it was and she got us a basket of hot fries, she then went and spoke to the manager and had him remove the burgers from tabs. The manager never came to speak to us which I think is sad since it wasn't that busy when we finally got our cold food. If it wasn't for our great waitress they would get 0 stars! Poor management, Rude servers. Overall, I have never had a good experience and I have been to this bar 10+ times. It is Nearby my home but I will never go again. The staff changes daily and they lack the training needed to assist you as a customer. Overall, this is a well below average establishment that should be thriving in a "bar happy" area. AWFUL FOR FAMILIES. We went here on the recommendation of a couple of friends. We got there at about 5:30 p.m. I said "4 adults, two children." They did not ask if we wanted a high chair or booster and said it'd be a 20 minute wait. We waited over half an hour and were then seated at a large booth, elevated from the ground. We asked for a booster seat, and the waitress brought over a high chair which was over a foot too low. We said we'd just hold our baby (we had a 9 month old and 3.5 year old with us). She then gave us coasters and left. No drink order, nothing. Didn't come back, and after ten minutes of waiting, we walked out. First of all do not have a wait to be seated sign up if YOU DO NOT MEAN IT! We stood around for 5 minutes with no one acknowledging us. Then we asked and were told to seat ourselves. Ate here yesterday. Wasn't a lot of customers there. We all had different sandwiches. A roast beef au Jus, a Club, a steak and mushroom and a walleye sandwich. We had fries, tots and waffle fries with those and some frickles (fried pickles). The service was great. Frequent refills and checked on us frequently but I would swear everything we ate was frozen at some time (maybe except for the bread). The fries were soggy, the tots were good as well as the seasoned waffle fries. The Walleye was tasteless and under seasoned. Other sandwiches just rated average. This place might be great for drinks and just average for bar food. I'd much rather go down the road to Clives for much better food. read more

I frequent the Albertville Willy McCoy and love the atmosphere and service but this location on the other hand is lacking leadership. I had to go look for a server after 10 minutes of waiting for someone to acknowledge us. The place wasn't packed but it wasn't completely dead either. I almost felt like I was bothering them when I asked for a server. I left me name and number with one of the other serves asking to have a manager call me back. Two weeks has passed and I've received to return call. Food wasn't too shabby, I took longer than wings and a burger should have taken. read more

UPDATE: I have increased this review to 4 stars. We have been coming here more often because the service has gotten better. We've been able to try more food. The Reuben was a hit with our group and a good size. Our view of the burgers were split down the middle, some thought they were good and others thought they were bland. The SLOPPY TOTS! In America today, I do not know how more people haven't thought of this! Tater Tots topped with sloppy joe and melted shredded cheese. Mmmm, we also will get a side of seasoned sour cream or ranch for more flavor.. and calories, but so worth it ;-). The whiskey stickers are also a new favorite of ours. They are a fun play on the typical Japanese goyza and it comes with an avocado ranch dipping sauce. New to the area and looking for a "usual eating spot" that we can start going to. We were driving on a Sunday evening and I saw the 50 cent wings advertisement, so we pulled in and ate here. All the wings were overcooked, which was sad because the sauces were delicious. We had the Surly General, Bourbon, and the Whiskey Ginger. The Whiskey Ginger was my favorite. I typically stay in the range of honey BBQ wings. The sauces all tasted fresh made and not like they came out of a can or bottle. I wish they would've given a little more celery though. The service was slow and our credit cards got mixed up with another table. At first I thought our server was on her phone while talking to us and taking our order, after watching other servers we decided that must be how they write orders down?? I did say that we were new there so I think it should've been mentioned since we don't know how they operate. We were checked on once and I had to flag down another server to get beverage refills. After about 14 minutes of us being done eating I had to find our server so we could pay, she was talking with another server on the side. Being a server myself the service was really difficult for me to grasp. The decor and theme is awesome, it's what brought us in but that's not what's going to keep people going there. My husband had a friend in town and this was the closest place with a pool table. A bouncer quickly figured out they were veterans and the staff were really nice and supportive of them. So nice that my husband decided to close the bar down here instead of migrating. The bouncer even gave them a ride home so they didn't have to drive or pay for a cab... THIS is where we decided to give them a second chance. Hopefully it's worth it and the service and other food options are better or they don't overcook the wings (it's truly devastating because the sauces were that good). And night life wise it seemed like a diverse group of people in there on a Friday night. Went here for a family birthday party for my father-in-law and was pleasantly surprised. It was 2-for-1 all day so that was awesome! I had the ahi tuna salad and it was one of the best I've had at any restaurant. My husband had the inferno burger and waffle fries with seasoned sour cream--other than being a little over cooked, he really enjoyed it. I came in super late at night craving a burger. Got in at about 10pm, got greeted and seated right away. Took a while to actual get some service from our waitress, we ended up ordering our food, apps and meal all at once not knowing how long it'll be before she shows up again. I gave this place a rating a 3.5 solely based on food however service from our waitress would have to be a low 1 rating. Since it was a Sunday, the wings were $0.50 each, so we decided to give the boom boom wings a try. Fantastic-- it was a mix between a chipotle BBQ and ranch flavor. For our meal, I got a very basic BBQ bacon burger. The burger was cooked to my liking and the BBQ sauce was really good. My husband got the 70/30 burger which he absolutely loved. He asked to have the seasoned sour cream with his waffle fries. It never came out with it, and even after asking our waitress for it-- it still never came. After asking for a box for our leftovers, we waited for quite a while to get our tab. Again, I would totally come back here for food but the waitress took a long time with everything and had very poor server etiquette. read more

The juicy Mccoy is a beast of a burger, perfectly seared and cooked medium rare. Could barely finish the burger, but that's probably because of the delicious appetizer I had, the southwest Fiesta chicken dip. Only thing wrong with the dip was that there wasn't enough dip to finish the chips with. Overall, speedy service and you can't argue with 2 for 1 drinks ALL day EVERYday. read more

Great Pub Food. It was a Monday, so all Burgers were 1/2 price, and it was Happy Hour, so all beers were 2 for 1. I got The Juicy McCoy Hamburger, and my son got the Bacon BBQ Deluxe Hamburger. Both burgers were exceptional, cooked exactly as we asked, and there was plenty of French fries. We sat at the bar, and the place was very busy, but not full. It did take what I considered a long time for the bartenders to acknowledge we were there, but once they made contact, the service was great. FYI, the 2 for 1 beer special, literally means they pour you 2 beers, so while your drinking your 1st beer, your 2nd beer is sitting there getting warm. The prices are very reasonable. read more
