Took my car here to get fixed it was reading a sensor they did diagnostics said it was timing chain without hesitation I paid 1100 they claim they fixed it. Soon as I got in car check engine light was on ran in told mechanic he comes out says I forgot to reset code. He knew I was heading to Disney with my family in few days. 2 days later check engine light came back on and stalling again. Almost got killed with my kids in car as it turned off on highway with truck behind us. Called Bill mechanic again he said if it goes on give it gas like u stealing the car mind u we did this everytime he told us to. Day we get ready to leave to disney we get my daughter from Huntsville got back car turning off at every light I call again and mechanic says again for 100th time to give it gas like I stealing it. Then car smells like burnt oil and car stopped working. Mind u took the car to autozone everytime check engine light went on and it read new codes. Something so simple. Now the owner calls me and says u need a new engine. First off ya did diagnostics and said it was timing chain now its readying codes that timing chain is off and converta when it never red that before. My daughter purchased a vehicle here and a service warranty marketed as a bumper to bumper warranty. We thought it would be best to take it to the dealer who sold the vehicle and the warranty. Boy were we wrong. The service manager, Sandra Craig told us the claim had been denied twice when she hadn't even submitted the claim. When she did submit the claim she sabotaged it. She told the warranty company that the vehicle came in with no coolant and that my daughter continued to drive the vehicle without coolant. When on all auctality all the coolant went into the motor via a blown head gasket. As a service manager she knew the effects of a blown head gasket. My daughter paid $450 to have her vehicle diagnosed and torn down. She was told it was a bad radiator only to find out the radiator is fine. So they did not find out what caused the vehicle to run hot. I guess we paid for nothing because we still don't know the point of failure. My car broke down a few days ago, paid 800 to get it fixed , it breaks down after that, and now they can't fix it at all. I've been trying to return this car since 2 weeks after I got it and they kept saying they couldn't take it back, THEN I call today and talk to the man I got it from, and he tells me too bad so sad , he won't take it back it's been 30 days and I have to pay him to fix the piece of crap he sold me. Took our GMC Sierra there for them to check and service the transfer case and front and rear differential. My husband made an appointment 8 am on 7/23/2019. When he arrived he was informed that they wanted to reschedule because someone was absent that day. My husband had to make arrangements at work to keep this appointment so rescheduling was not an option. They informed us it would take most of the day to complete the service,which was fine. Upon arriving to pick up truck ,at 5pm, was informed that the front differential had a strange thick butter like fluid with metal shavings in it. They said they didn't even attempt to check the transfer case. Also said that the rear end had been rebuilt recently, which was news to us since we have owned the truck for 7 years and had never had the rear end rebuilt. We were told that the service we requested would cost about 300.00. But since they only did the front and rear differential fluids we only paid 199.46. What a rip off.!!! They drained a small amount of fluid , refilled what they drained off , then proceeded to bend us over! Took the truck to a real repair shop, they did the service in less than 5 hours for less than Willy originally quoted. No problems were found except for the old fluids that Willy's mechanics said that they had changed!! Never again will they touch anything I own. read more

I drive only Toyotas, and thus my experience with auto repairs is very minimal :) . My Camry finally needed an alternator at 230,000 miles -- its' first repair (other than brakes at about 190,000). I had no clue as to who to take it to; I did some research, and got some good recommendations for Willy Herold. They are not too far from me, and I was able to get the car there late in the day. None the less, they were happy and pleasant, and very efficient in giving me an estimate, which was very reasonable from what I'd heard about this repair. They got the part and had it installed quickly, and it's been running like a champ ever since... Sorry I have no drama for the review, but that's what we really want, isn't it? Our cars fixed fairly, quickly and competently without drama? Well, that's Willy Herold, in my experience! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE from the owner, surprisingly, argumentative once my purchase was complete. UNETHICAL, promised to make a repair to a sensor that came on the day after I bought the car. When I went back to have it done, he informed me that because I'd called him rude, he would not be making the repair, as a courtesy. purchased a car on April 5, 2018, 2012 Chevrolet Cruze with 69,053 miles with a Dealer Limited Warranty for 30 Days or 1000 miles. On 4/16/2018 I took the car back for service because it was overheating, now at 69,941 miles. So, me realizing that I am almost up on miles, I decided to get my car inspected by someone else other than them to see what else was wrong before my 30 days are up. Therefore, I took the vehicle to Tire Engineers located off Auburn Ave Columbus, Ga. My mom Tiffany Wright calls them because I let her handle some of the situation because she is older and wiser. My mom tells them that there are a lot of problems wrong with this car and I have only had the car 2 weeks. They tell us to bring in miles currently at 70,645. At first, they were stating that I was over the 1000-mile warranty about 800 miles but agreed to look at car and ask for the list. Now mind you, they just looked at car on April 16th while warranty was still good and didn't find all these things wrong. So, I took my car to them on April 23rd and they kept until April 27th. Now I go pick the car up on April 27 and not even 1 hour later the engine light is coming on. My mom calls them and tells them the check engine light is coming on, what do we do? And they tell us to bring back next week. I took the car to them on morning of May third and waited while they checked. My problem with Willy Herald is this, I feel like they sold me a car that they knew had a lot of issues and although I know they are in business, but it is not good business to sell people cars that they must get a lot of work done and not even had the car 30days, that is just bad business. Secondly, although I do appreciate them fixing what they fixed, if they fixed it, but because the check engine light came on immediately after I picked my car up when they were supposed to had fixed the problems wrong with car, they should have chopped that up and fixed because the code reason should have already been fixed when I initially brought the car back (my problem with running hot). However my mom was willing to pay depending on what the estimate came back. Thirdly, there would not been an issue if John Long didn't come out of know where and escalated the situation and I am going to make this about race. I do not believe he would have called the police on us if we were not black. The situation that was going on at the time he called the police, he called without warrant. He escalated the situation. Kicking us out for asking question, no the tone was not sweet, it was fern but no yelling at that point and no bad language at that point. John Long may that situation bad. They probably can look at their security camera and see our body language and motion. Before John Long got involved there was no uncontrollable hostile situation where police needed to be called. Lastly, I am 22 years old, have purchased this car from this place, do not even have a tag yet and John Long banded me the customer from Willy Herald. We are the customers in this situation and they all need to remember that. We invested in their business my purchasing a car and we do not believe we were treated fairly. Purchased a car that seemed to be okay, with very minor issues that the dealer claimed to be just a loose gas cap, which ended up being more than $700 worth of repairs to replace the fuel pump, and now will be even more to replace the transmission. Now the car is out of commission and I am very upset with this particular used car dealership. 0/5 would not recommend. read more

I own a 2009 BMW 335i which had a bad battery. I called the BMW dealership and asked how much it would cost to replace my battery. They said that it would cost over $500 because they would have to reprogram the battery into the ECU. I asked a question on a social media group if anyone in town could do it cheaper and had the capabilities. One of Willy Harold's representatives told me that they could do it. They quoted me at just over $200 for the exact same service that BMW offers. They fit me in right away and I was gone in less than an hour. Great experience. I had a used car I was considering buying (not from WH) checked out here on the advice of someone else in the automotive business in Columbus. "They're good people" was what I was told, and it was an accurate description. The car was thoroughly examined and I felt almost as though it was done by a highly knowledgeable friend. In April 2020 a non Honda starter was placed on my car. I went back immediately to let them know my car was not starting the same. Nothing was done. A little while later my check engine light came on. I told them that I talked to someone that worked on Honda and they stated it needed a Honda starter. I went back which was the start of SEVERAL vists to try to get my car repaired. I was told it was the crank sensor. I was told by Sandy they would remove my crank sensor to see if that was the issue and if the issue continued they would put my sensor which is a Honda sensor back on my car. That did not happen I called back today for my part and she said they no longer have it. Each time I went back I was given different reasons of what was wrong with my car. Tired of the back and forth I went to the Honda dealership to put my car on the diagnostic machine and the print out stated a repair was needed on my starter and crank senor(my original crank senor was removed and the aftermarket was not working with my Honda starter). The staff at Honda spoke with Sandy and explained in detail why the starter had to be a Honda starter. He also stated they have been having several Hondas come back with the same issue and a non Honda starter was not used. I was still having the same issue. So I went to another technician look at it be put it on his scanner and said it was the sensor that Brian put on it was not a Honda crank sensor so it was not working with the starter. He replaced the sensor and put a Honda crank sensor on it and my car has been working fine since. Sandy should not have told me she would replace my senor with my old one and that she would keep my old one to see if it worked. I did additional research and I found a couple comments where they stated a Honda starter must be used and the after market would not work. Sandy and the Brian and another technician were arguementive in saying that is not true that is unheard of after market always works. They also told me there is a black Honda 2011 doing the exact same thing as mine and they but the after market on it. They never once called the dealership to confirm or get an explanation even after I had the paperwork for the 95.00 diagnostic. Instead of researching it more they said they called on person and he said he did it and that was it. Disregarding the diagnostic print out I had. They did not research online or anything. They continued to send me back home to only keep coming back. I missed several hours of work. If the Honda starter was used from the beginning this issue would not have dragged on. Sandy even made me feel like it was my fault because she stated that I only have 1 car for my household. That should not be her concern. I brought my car there several days and it stayed my whole work shift and left it over night this Friday. They even tried to blame it on spark plug repair but the Honda dealership confirmed the right spark plugs were used. This has made me miss work, try to catch rides, and cause me a lot or frustration and irritation. read more

I was in the market for a car and after shopping around a bunch of places, I wound up checking out Willy Herold on Warm Springs. They had some good cars to choose from, but alas, the cars I was interested in didn't quite fit in my loan amount and there wasn't much wiggle room on the pricing. Their salesman (Stephen) helped by researching some other cars that might be a better value and fit in our price range and also informed us of their other location on Veterans. We weren't huge fans of the suggested cars, but found a Focus we liked at the other location. The salesman there (Andy) was able to work with our budget on a price we could afford and we went home with our car that day. Additionally, we were helped with the boring paperwork side by one of the gals in the office (who's name slips my mind and I feel awful for forgetting because she was so helpful!) and it was her first time entering the sales info. Considering she had never done it before could have fooled me. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about what she was doing and all in all, my shopping experience with both dealerships was completely pleasant. I highly recommend them to anyone who is doing used car shopping as they have some great values and excellent customer service and not the typical pushy used car salesmen. read more
