I appreciate all the hard work, dedication ,and time that they put into my vehicle . I know they're backed up and have a lot of cars to work on just like every other shop in Columbus Georgia . And they have had my vehicle for a little while and I'm a very appreciative of that, But when I went to go and pay for my vehicle about $2,900 later they told me 2 days,but I was never notified that there was damage caused to my rear bumper on the passenger side That's not how you receive my vehicle that's not how I should receive my vehicle back. Where to begin..... Got their free transmission evaluation You expect them to test drive it & give you a possible or probable cause of your issues. The have you sign a paper before they inspect your transmission. I came back to get my Car from over night and take it home after the inspection only for them to tell me it's gonna be $1700 to repair & that I could finance it. I literally got my car back with the transmission out in a million pieces. Had to tow it bc I was forced into a corner BS!!! NEVER GO HERE!!! Not only that I was told my rally wheel rings should be taken off so no one would steal them overnight. Guess who lost them the next day ?? Yep they " couldn't find them !!! "Experts" is not even close to a word I'd use to describe this place. They will ruin your car and charge you thousands to do it. They don't have a clue what they're doing. They "fixed" one thing, charged me. 2 days later, my car breaks down. I have it towed again and they say oh turns out it's not what we thought it was, it's something else. No partial refund or any type of reimbursement was offered to go towards the charge of fixing the new issue. With no other choice but to pay for it, I'm finally told that it's fixed and I'll have no further trouble. Needless to say, it's still far from fixed. For the record, my car is a 2011. Not the newest vehicle on the street but just note that I'm not talking about a 1998 model car with little to no life expectancy left. Fed up after 3 months of constantly paying for unsuccessful repairs, I take my car to a different shop where they show me all of the things this place did wrong. There are parts they used that are not even the correct parts, parts that aren't in the right place, and places where there should be parts but nothing is there. I confronted Transmission "Experts" with all of this info and they brushed it off, saying the other business doesn't know what they're talking about. Don't ever use this place. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. DONT! There is nothing expert about the service I saw. I could do it on my own but I wanted it done quick without any trouble or hiccups on my part, so I went to them in trust. Boy was I wrong...I could have done it quicker, less stress, cheaper, and above all my truck wouldn't have gotten messed up. Worst part...I found at least one part I paid for that was not replaced. "No idea how that happened" he said. I joint caps not screwed in, t case mounts not bolted in, hanging wires, torn shifter boot, oily interior, went to pick up and clutch sinks to floor, "they "fix" it in 5 minutes. Next I see the t case shift lever isn't hooked up at all. I bring my car here because it's the closet place to my home and it seemed decently okay. Boy, what a mistake I made. To figure out what was wrong with my transmission if would cost $430, I agreed, signed the papers and said I would be called in a week. Okay, fair enough. I call back in a week because I didn't hear anything. Suddenly it's going to cost me 3500 for a remanufactured transmission for my Nissan Versa, and 4000 for them to rebuild one. OBVIOUSLY I'm upset. I want a second opinion, because that's a ridiculous amount of money, and Mike, the man up front didn't even tell me what was wrong with it. Just gave me a price and was like that is that. So I told him, I would like to come pick up my car and get a second opinion. That is when all HELL broke loose. He told me I could absolutely not come and get my car. Excuse me? ITS my car, I can certainly come get it when I want. Then he starts adding on all these cost, 500$, 600$ just to come get my car. At this point, I am livid and this man is talking over me and yelling at me and treating me like a PIECE OF TRASH. Told me if I wasn't serious about fixing my car then I shouldn't of wasted his time. Are you kidding me? Because I wanted a second opinion? I told him I didn't mind paying the 430, the work was done and that was fair. He said he was going to fix my car regardless and I told him DO NOT TOUCH MY CAR. That is not what I agreed to and signed about, I agreed for a diagnosis. This man is crazy. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Mike ended up hanging up on me, I called back and got a lovely man named John. I would give John a 10/10. At this point I was crying, I was upset and he was very kind and calmed me down and went step by step of what was wrong with my car and told me that to give him an hr, he would look at every option possible and call me back. He did just that. My quoted was now down to a reasonable 2400-2500. He also stated that if I wanted to come pick up my car, it was absolutely my right to do so. I may have to sign a waiver but I could come get it at any point in time. Because this man put effort in, and actually cared about his customer. This is how it should of been from the start, instead I'm getting the run around first in an already high stress situation. A lot of people get upset about price in a car situation, and I was surely upset about that outrageous amount, but the customer service, the way I was treated was absolutely inexcusable. No matter what way you look at it. I was treated like dirt, quoted HIGH, but when someone who actually cared attempted at it, it noticeably dropped because he looked at all his options, unlike the other man. Who seems like he just wants to make a buck off someone's unfortunate experience. Rude. Quotes bible verses to win you over. Comes off as abrasive and a downright asshole. Not someone who should run ANY front desk or have any contact with customers. Do better or quit. They will probably reply because now that I've read through the reviews, I see this man has done this to a lot of people and instead of bettering the experience, they become defensive. Which absolutely proves the point. I ended up keeping my business here ONLY because the transmission was out, John was taking care of it, and the 430 would roll into that 2500. Will I ever come here again? Absolutely not. It was a disaster and I wish I went someone else to start with. Save your time, your sanity, and probably money and go anywhere else. Called Wednesday the 5th it wasn't ready. Said it would be ready on Thursday. Okay, that works. Go in on Thursday after work and they weren't quite done, stated they wanted to drive it and do quality control and I can pick it up on Friday. Friday comes around, I pick up my car right before the place closes. I pay, we were all cordial with one another, everything was fine. I go to drive off and I already know something is not right. My car begins to shake violently if I go up to 40 mph. I'm absolutely livid again. Quality control? Someone test drive my car? Either one of three things happened. 1. Someone lied about test driving it. 2. They test drove it and was completely negligent about the problem. 3. It was purposefully given to me in this condition. After everything that has happened with this shop, my biggest disappointment is that they would let me get into the car, with it jerking all over the road, and assuring me it's fixed. I could of gotten into a car accident, I could of been hurt, I could of hurt someone else! Because of absolute negligence. I go back on Saturday, today. Took them 3 hrs to fix the issue. There was no apology, just a "yeah we'll fix it" No accountability, no care for the customer, this has been an overall terrifying experience. This is not okay. I took my 2004 Tacoma their with 394000 miles on it and the transmission had a roaring sound in overdrive. They inspected it and gave me a call to let me it would between 1800 and 2800 to rebuild but also told me that they could install a used one for if I could find one. I bought one on eBay they let me ship it to their store and they installed it for me for only 600 they also let me know my transfer case was leaking and resealed it for only 200 more. Overall it's been 2 years and all their work has held up very well. They offer great service at fair prices not sure why all the bad reviews I wouldn't let them detour you. Great place will be bringing another one of my vehicles in soon. read more

This shop tried to take advantage of my elderly father. When he told me the pricing, I called around and asked pricing and everyone in town was $1000s cheaper, even for the used transmission. I went there today to pick up his truck and I expected to pay the diagnostic charge as well as the tow charge. At first they told us the it was $389 for both and when he found out that I was approved for the financing for to get the transmission fixed and decided not to use them he charged an additional $75 and it was for the tow and did not allow us to use the credit we were approved for with Koalafi to pay the fees. He stated Koalafi told him I had to use it for repairs and Koalafi told me as long as I spend $200 with them that I would be able to use the financing. Needless, I know this repair shop was being vengeful because we decided not to use their services. Based on what others have said I'm not the only one who has been treated this way. Please people of color and women, stay away from this place!!! read more

I do NOT recommend this shop. My husband and I are rebuilding a 1980 CJ5 and were having some issues with the clutch/shifting so we decided to bring it here after calling around and finding that they had the best price. Now we know why. I (female) primarily dealt with these guys. When I dropped it off at the shop I requested that they give the whole thing a once-over in addition to checking out the shifting/clutch issues we were having, as well as replacing the steering column. In order to keep this review as short as possible, I'll list just a few complaints. #1 They clearly were only out to make a quick buck: after they replaced the clutch and flywheel, I was there to pick it up, and they told me it didn't really need replaced but they did it anyways (I guess because I said that I thought that might be the problem) #2 Don't deal with this shop if you're a female: The shop was slow moving and lazy until I got my husband involved. When we went to the shop together the guys directed their attention to him, even if I was the one speaking. It got to the point where I waited outside while he took care of it. #3 There is no way anyone took it for a test drive and ran through all of the gears as they claimed. When I picked it up the first time I was stuck in second gear the whole time and ended up having to get towed back to the shop after only making it a mile down the road. They promised to take another look at it, but when I came back with my husband the next day it was in the same spot as the night before and stuck in gear, despite them promising that they tested it and it was fine. Next thing you know the shifter is all but un-attached and it's missing one of the pins that is supposed to hold it in place #4 My car came back trashed. It was covered in oil in several places and we found that a piece on the carb is cracked/ a chunk is missing but we have photos of it from before and it was fine..... It turns out the transmission was full of water (no one's fault here), but a good shop would have looked to diagnose the issue when it was brought in in the first place, or at least when it was brought in after they had already "fixed" it once instead of insisting it went through all of the gears fine. Overall this was an awful experience. The guy at the front desk, Eddy, was unfriendly and dishonest. Take your vehicle elsewhere to a shop that isn't lazy. read more

If i could give them less than 1 i would. Do Not take your car here for anything. Went to have transmission installed. Car left there with rack&pinion leaking. Oil was no longer going to the motor. Almost cost me my motor. Brackets missing. Transmission fluid leaking. Although the guy talks very nice. Those transmission techs cost me almost a thousand dollars to fix everything they tampered with. Don't go there! I will not recommend anyone to them. read more

Took my car here for a FREE inspection. They told me that my car was too dangerous to drive and by law they had to fix it. Luckily I changed my life around, lets leave it at that. I said oh well, and let them fix it costing me a few thousands for a new transmission. Turns out that WASN'T THE ISSUE. Another company said it was my engine (in which it was). They acted like cons. If it wasn't for their $16 oil changes, they'd be out of business. What kind of shop is in the same building as a pizza place and a bar? Well, that should tell you enough. read more

I have been taking my car here for a while and I am still having the same problem I payed $2,400 to get fix. At this point I just want a refund because it's a reoccurring problem with the transmission that they supposedly fixed. All I had done with car was driven it around the street from my house and in the middle of the street my car wasn't switching gears so I had get my car towed and this was main problem with the car that I had paid and told them to fix and even all the money I had given them and time they supposedly took to fix my car it is still having the same issues. Worst place ever. I live in Cobb county 2.5 hours away and bring my car here because I was visiting my fiance when my transmission went out. So they tell me my vehicle will be ready on Wednesday and I say I will be here Thursday. I had to make arrangements for someone to drive me 2.5 hours here. I get here at 10:45 am Thurs morning just to wait around for hours. They finally finish and realize at 5 pm that they need to program my car and it won't be ready until tomorrow morning (Friday). I have no way home, my fiancé is out in the field and now I have to get a rental car that is costing me more money because they won't cover the cost they have no loaner car. Well I was worried my engine check light came on and I though my car was done come to find out all I needed was a oil change after they did that oil change light went out and has not came back on . i first went to them in december 2017 to get my transmission rebuild. came august 2018 the same problem began i was told by mike i think thats his name that it wasn't it was something different. had to pay more money out. then came december 2019 again so i got a second opinion only to find out it was never rebuilt only being half fix each time. so i call and took it back mike assured me he wasn't getting over me he had a daughter and wouldn't get over me. he was a god giving person so they'll just relook into it and fix it. here it is december 2020 its the same problem and i find out im missing screws in my transmission and all the parts wasn't replaced. it sadden me to fill tooken avenge of i had to struggle paying getting my truck fix not once but twice then a third time now come out of pocket to another company to fix what should've been done in 2017 a rebuild transmission. read more

Don't get me wrong, I went into my search knowing how expensive a job I had ahead of me but when they walked me through how they do things and how giving an estimate on something as intricate as a transmission before getting a look inside is tricky business I decided to go with them. They earned my trust and respect with their quality of work and customer service. The fact that they expIained how it works step by step and why and what needed to be fixed made me know that I wasn't being taken advantage of which happens too often in the industry. But when it came time to pick my truck up and the money I saved set in, I knew I made the right choice. Now I won't go anywhere else for my auto needs. And considering how long they've been in business in a fly by night industry it really is a testament to their success. Took my car to the "experts" based on the Yelp review. Don't be dumb like me. After a week I had no call or estimate or any contact from them. I called and had to wait for "the guy" who was the only one who would talk to me about my car. He had no estimate and really seemed to have no idea about my car's condition. So I told him and he said he would call by the next day if not sooner. Another week goes by. I call and am again put on hold until "the guy" can get to the phone. I went there and no one would talk to me except "the guy". "The guy" is full of promises and very good at making you feel at ease. The two times I went to the shop[ and spoke to "the guy" he said they were so busy but the would be onto my car ASAP. After two weeks I took my car away from them after paying 200 dollars and having no repair work at all done. My opinion of these guys is that they are scammers. Drive around to the back of the building and you will see a lot of cars that look like they have been there for some time. Perhaps they are waiting to be parted out after their owners were gipped out of them by this company? I don't know, but I would not take a car there again and be extreme in my suggestion any of my friends not take their car there for repair. read more

i took my car because of reviews that i read , first problem was to do a full internal and external diagnostic i was charged 484.92 but there website say its free and that took a month to do ,2nd Mark or Mike whatever his name is told me that i needed my transmission rebuilt and was going to cost 3290.00 so when i told him that was too much put the transmission back together he said he'll get with the owner for maybe a reduced price , then i informed him that 2 years prior they rebuilt my transmission for 2700.00 . 3rd when i went to pick up the car it was non drive able so i had to pay a tow company 50.00 only to get it home and realize the battery cable wasn't hooked up . 4th on my receipt it says nothing about needing to get my transmission rebuilt he wrote battery leak acid onto wiring harness read more

This is long, but hopefully will save others from wasting their time and money with this business!!! We made the mistake of taking our vehicle here when the transmission began to slip. We dropped it off on 12-1-18, learned it needed a rebuild and let them know we would pick it up on 12-8-18. When we checked on it on the 8th, it wasn't quite ready, so we were asked if we could pick it up on 12-10-18. Since that wasn't possible for us, we picked it up on 12-15-18. The rebuild seems fine so far, but the check engine light came on and there was a leak. (Leaks are normal for this business after repairs, "leaks are normal" being there words - we have in writing from them.) The check engine code came up as the P0705 - the transmission range control sensor circuit. So needless to say, we took this vehicle back to TE on 12-17-18. We picked our vehicle up for the 2nd time on 12-22-18. The transmission range control circuit appears to have been fixed; however the leak was still not fixed. They placed (in there words in writing,) ATV underneath the truck in an attempt to fix the leak in a very unprofessional manner. We can only assume ATV is a typo and they meant RTV silicone sealant. (We hope!) The transmission leaked for 3 weeks straight before the fluid level reached where it should be had it been filled properly the first time or when we took it back the second time. 1) Yes, it is checked daily AFTER the engine is warmed up and 2) One would think transmission "experts" would know the correct amount of fluid to put in a transmission since this is their specialty. Yet they expect us to bring this back AGAIN instead of getting it fixed correctly. Not one time did we hear that we should expect leaks from this "professional" job until we filed a BBB claim. Since leaks are "normal" (again, there words, in writing, maybe this is something you should tell your customers to expect from you work. While we cannot get our vehicle fixed the correct way at this time - we are lucky enough to live in a town with multiple repair shops so we now know what is causing the leak: There is a leak coming from the tail stock because they reused the old seal. (Probably why leaks are normal for this business.) It is also leaking where the dipstick goes into the transmission - this is the leak they attempted to seal. There is not one thing in the warranty statement that says our vehicle will need to spend the next 12 months in and out of their business and it is unreasonable to expect anyone to keep playing the "bring it back" on a regular basis with this business. This job was definitely not worth what they charged for it! Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs!!! read more

Inept, Unprofessional, and Dishonest. We brought our car to TE and were told that the transmission needed a new part. We got it back two weeks later, just before a trip out of state. We told them we were going to NC and they said the car should be fine for the trip. We went carefully and began to notice weird noises in SC, plus the car was not driving smoothly. We took it to a shop in NC because we were nervous about the drive back. The mechanic there said that the transmission had not been secured into the car correctly. There were lots of missing pieces and bolts! The mechanic took pics for us along with captions of what was missing and we paid an additional $500 for him to fix what TE had messed up. He told us that we were very lucky to have not had an accident and that what they had done to our car was EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! My husband went back to TE to complain about the service and the manager, Eddie, gave him a hard time. But my husband had written a letter and asked for it to be given to the owner. Through Eddie, my husband was told that we would get a refund AND that the guy who worked on our car would be fired. We didn't want anyone to get fired, but we took this as an admission to what they had done. We felt a little better that they would give a refund and try to make things right. Meanwhile, we took our car to the dealer to have it fixed properly (no way we were going to let them work on it again!) Two weeks later, the refund was not in the bank, so we called to check on the status. Eddie told us that we would not get a refund until we gave them a receipt from the dealer and the transmission part! There had been no stipulations before. They just did not give the refund, as they said they would. Eddie continued to argue that he had said this, which he certainly had not. It seems that they said they would give a refund just to get us out of their hair with no intention of ever doing it. Well, it will cost an additional $800 to get the transmission back, since we learned from the dealer that it was still under warranty and therefore sent back to their headquarters. Even though $800 is less than the $1400 we paid at TE, we do not want to risk losing $800 more. They tell so many lies that we do not trust them anymore. They won't even give us the $500 we had to pay the NC dealer to fix what they had messed up! Please, we are writing this to warn you. Because we also have a friend who had a similar experience and had to get a new car! I have never done business with such blatantly dishonest people. They cannot be trusted. read more
