early morning departure from the motel before heading to dodge ridge for a ski session...willow wisp cafe open at 6am for breakfast...friendly local restaurant right off the 108 located in east sonora...convenient stop for breakfast for travelers...seated right away and menu provided...some children/senior menu options along with the regular classic favorites for adults...taking coffee for adults first at $3.75 each...endless refills and service is excellent...very quick to check and refill...one child took the 2 chocolate pancakes $7.95...other taking the 1 pancake, 1 meat and 1 egg special for $9.50...selecting bacon and scrambled egg...pancakes were fluffy and good...bacon was crispy and eggs scrambled nicely...no complaints from the children and gobbled it up...self taking the french toast meal $14.95 and taking scrambled eggs and bacon...bacon was immediately taken by my child and consumed...didn't even get a bite...must have been perfectly crispy...eggs were decent and french toast was perfectly fluffy and the right texture...good all around...other adult taking the basic meat & eggs meal $15.95 with wheat toast, cup of fruit, bacon and scrambled eggs...again, bacon perfectly crispy and eggs all cooked the same...fruit appeared fresh cut...toast was leaning towards burnt and that was the only major flaw in the breakfast....overall, a good breakfast for about $75 total after tax and tip for 2 adults and 2 children...great service and good food...

Country fried steak , they forgot my gravy

Ordered from here a couple times the food is always good but the small issue is... they always forget something from either a whole meal to gravy completely missing off my country fried steak and biscuits and gravy, which makes no sense to me whatsoever. I can understand being busy but just maybe slow down a little bit so everyone gets Exactly what they ordered and paid for. Our order was for take out

Local small business tucked away in the cute town of Sonora CA! When you pass by this local restaurant the parking lot always has cars in it, so long as they are open. Cute decor inside that depicts their Mediterranean style. The service is impeccable! My glass was never less than half full before a waitress arrived to fill it again without my needing to ask for it. The food portions are extremely generous! I had the biscuits and gravy with two eggs, two sausage links and hash browns. The biscuits are homemade and a definite must try. The gravy is not homemade. It was not bad but would have been better if it were homemade. My date had three egg all meat Omlette with hash browns and a fresh homemade biscuit. We both really liked our good and were astonished at the large portions. We drank water and with our tip it was about $46. Not cheap but hey nothing is nowadays! There is a handicap parking right next to the entrance to the restaurant. This is helpful if that is something you need. Lots of parking available in a private lot. This was a very delicious small local business, please support them and give them a try! #SupportLocal l Check out my photos too!

A local gem! We were in town for a wedding and even though we already had free breakfast at our hotel, hubby had to come and try based on the reviews! Service was great, all the waitresses were friendly and patient with us while we figured out what to order. Loved that they knew just about everyone who walked in the door. We shared the lamb rotisserie with eggs (added peppers & onions) and upgraded the side with biscuits and gravy. Wow! Lamb gyro and home fries were exploding with flavor! The tzatziki sauce was incredible, house-made for sure and full of fresh herbs! The place itself has lots of interesting decorations. Make sure you check out the Bigfoot story and footprint by the fireplace!

Brittany, where were you we I needed you today? They made my steak fries garlic... yuk and they put the sauce on my burger when I asked for it dry so my bun is all soggy and it made my red onion slimy.

We love this place! My dad was a regular there and he loved eating here so much. He told me about the Portuguese omelette so I had to try it. Now it's my must have breakfast ! The staff is so wonderful. They are sweet and attentive. You can't help but ogle all the plates as they go by... all the food looks amazing. I've been there on Sundays and it's a popular place but service is always amazing . The restaurant is in an old house and is very cozy and cute. I need to come back for lunch. I have heard amazing things about their burgers and specials.

    Greek omelette. So delicious!

There is plenty of parking, plenty of seating. We came here on a Sunday evening and were greeted and seated right as we walked in. The staff is top-notch. I wish I would have gotten our waitresses name because she's a rockstar, she gave her recommendations, remembered our order (even with my friend asking her 100 questions and changing her mind a couple times) and was super attentive making sure to check in often. I also got to see other staff interactions with other customers and they were all friendly and attentive, also I feel there were quite a few regulars because the place really felt like you're walking into a friends house. We got the calamari appetizer, it was perfectly crispy and delicious. We all ordered steak and each one was perfection- cooked just how we ordered and tasted amazing with the different sauces. My fiancee got the white peppercorn and nearly licked his plate clean, I got the garlic one with sautéed mushrooms, and our friend went with the chipotle on the side (she ended up pouring it on top because it was amazing.) We've been to some fancy steakhouses, and this was better than most, with a much better price tag. The servings were generous and I had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Also the bread was hot and perfect, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I wish we had room for dessert because I know it must be amazing too. We will definitely be coming back!

Last night my bestfriend & I decided to meet up at the Peppery for dinner. I arrived first and went in to get a table for the two of us. I was waiting in the entry area behind the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign. As I waited another party arrived and was waiting beside me. One of the servers came over walked past me and asked them for how many and took them to be seated. Interesting for me seeing as I had been standing there for a few minutes before they entered the restaurant, while servers walked passed me & those near the bar area made eye contact and went back to their duties. Another couple then came into the restaurant and were waiting beside me to be seated, a different server emerged and started walking towards us, she then asked if I had already been helped and got me seated at a table and got menus & drinks while I waited for my friend to arrive. Once she arrived our server got her drink order and checked to see if we need anything while we look over the menu. We noticed they have an updated menu with all the same favorites. My friend ordered the Angel Hair Pasta w/ Italian Sausage with a cup of soup to start, and I ordered the Garlic Roasted Ribeye with Jalapeno Cheddar Mashed Potatoes & Seasonal Veggies with a house salad to start. The food was good not quite as good as I had anticipated. My friends pasta was over sauced, too much sauce for the amount of pasta. My steak had too much demi glaze on it; I did wipe most of it off and I will order it on the side next time. My steak was cooked slightly under what I requested but still good. We were so stuffed that we did not even want to look at the dessert menu. I probably will go back, but I will wait a bit before we return.

They didnt have a printed kids menu but he helped my kids choose their food. We got ourselves some food and drinks as well. Everything came out fairly quickly. 1. The fancy fondue was very yummy. It came with toasted sourdough bread. 2. Garlic bread was also good. We dipped that into the fondue once we were done with the sourdough. It enhanced the taste further. 3. Kids loved the pepperoni pizza and fish & chips. 4. Our server also accommodated our request for a half and half garlic chicken pizza with no meat on one side. The pizza came out great. Their happy hour is DAILY from 14:00-16:00. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Sunday, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was attentive and friendly. For our cocktails, my friend went with the Huckleberry lemonade, while I went with the pomegranate whiskey sour. She thoroughly enjoyed her cocktail, and so did I. At that price point, I didn't expect much, but it was a solid cocktail, although not as strong as what I'd normally get elsewhere. The clam chowder sounded really good, and I couldn't help myself, so I ordered it. My friend is not a fan of seafood, so the chowder was all for me. The crostini was very nicely toasted and I loved dipping it into the chowder. I was also pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of the clam chowder. It was packed with a ton of clams, and was perfectly hearty without being heavy. We opted to share the fallen apple pizza, which was the perfect choice. The dough was pillowy and light, and the toppings delicious. I would have liked more apple slices, as it didn't seem like they were very prominent, and for the balsamic drizzle to be more uniform, but overall it was a solid pizza. I took leftover pizza home, and my husband enjoyed it for dinner. We heated it up in the air fryer and that was the way to go. While it was a little noisy in the restaurant, mainly due to a large group seated next to us, we still had a good experience, and the booth seating was comfy. I would love to bring my husband back to try more happy hour menu items next time we visit Sonora! The price point is seriously hard to beat, and Emberz is a solid spot for hanging out and having a good time.

The server squeezed a lemon over to extinguish the flame. Crispy, flavorful and gooey on the inside-what a treat! I ordered the chicken souvlaki plate with a side of green beans. While the chicken and pita were delicious, the green beans stole the show for me. Cooked in a tomato broth with Greek seasoning and simmered with potatoes and carrots, these beans were next level.
