This location is so lovely, I know people don't have very nice things to say about Applebees maybe because it's such a chain restaurant but I've never had a bad experience! My mom and I visited this afternoon and they were LOVELY! Our server Rachel was such a doll super on top of it with our lunch and adorable! Excellent service, girl! We shared the lunch special, while my mom had the bacon burger I got the salmon with mash potatoes and fries! Great portions for the price the salmon was moist a little sweet because I believe it was honey glazed and delicious! The loaded mashed potatoes and a bite of her burger was good as well!! The vibe here is usually more on the chill side but today it was quite busy! Perhaps because it was lunch hour but we were still seated and served immediately. We will always return to this specific location because of everything being fresh as well as their wonderful service, especially from Rachel today! Thank you, the cool bees!! read more

I always love the food here its rich and flavorful, and they have great options. I like that they have the Carside to go options and that you can order cocktails if you order food. I have noticed sometimes the service can be very slow at time which is why I have it four stars instead of five, even if they arent busy which can be a bit frustrating. I also liked the design better before they changed it up amd put images of people on the walls, it was much more unique and fun before. However they are still a amazing place for a date and to go food and its nice when they have new things to try. Also I am able to get a few good gluten free options here which I do like. read more

Came here on Christmas Day on our way home from our day ski trip! There were lots of people inside. We had to wait a while to order which was ok for us. Our waitress Stephanie was nice and was apologetic when she could finally take our order. We ordered Appetizers Boneless wings- honey BBQ (4/5) Queso & chips (4/5) Entrees 3 cheese chicken Penne (3/5) Prime rib dipper (5/5) 6oz sirloins (5/5) The sirloin was surprisingly very tender. Been here twice in a month for lunch. Our waitress Rachel is attentive and friendly. Luckily we've had her every time we come. The food is reasonable, fresh and delicious. Lots of specials! It's always clean and has a sports theme. Lots of televisions to entertain, if you like sports. I must say, the host has no personality. He doesn't greet you, he just grabs menus and walks away with no verbal recognition. While sitting at our table, I watched many guests not follow him because they didn't know that he was taking them to their table. Even when we left, he didn't look or acknowledge us. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it arrived after about 20 minutes without cheese or bacon . Unfortunately had to send it back for cheese and bacon which should not have taken another 20 minutes. When I received my burger my fries were cold and everyone in my party had finished their food. I have no idea what is going on in this kitchen but I will never return to find out. Went above and beyond in service and in love. Honestly, I came into this burger joint down in the dumps. I've never faced hardships quite like the ones this week, but I'll spare you the details. Just know, I wasn't feeling it AT ALL. Then, love walked in. We locked eyes and immediately understood one another. Home was in those baby blue eyes, and I never thought I could love again. That love was heightened by the taste of the four cheese honey pepper chicken tenders. Sensational flavors, tasteful background music, and warm environment catered to the conversation of our group. They are currently running a deal for $9.99 that includes a bacon burger (or chicken sandwich) with bottomless fries and a drink. The burger tasted to me like it was cooked on the grill and was actually medium (there was pink in the middle and juicy). Fries were crispy and totally worth every penny. Their desserts are where it's at. Their milkshakes are extra tick and they definitely use real ice cream. The apple crisp was probably the best thing we got. It was served in a cast iron skillet and came straight from the oven. It has caramel, ice cream and candied pecans. For $5.99 this tasted like a dessert you would pay $15 or more at a fancier restaurant. Sure, you're never going to have a Michelin star dish here, but if you want good service, good comfort food with quick and attentive service you can't go wrong. My gf got some chicken tenders for something small and fast and her chicken wasn't hot, let alone warm, it was cold and when I told the waiter that, she said sorry which is ok but when I got my food back from them after sending it back to get warmer, it came back the same. I like Applebees but I'm not going here any time soon due to me having this problem like 3 times. I went back to see if they would be better and it wasn't. We ate at the Applebee's in Sonora on the way back from Mammouth Lakes. It is located in a large mall area in the back of the mall. Our server was Carl and he was efficient. I had the sirloin and mashed potato $ 37.50- Went with the combo deal which includes choice of salad of appetizer, wife had the salmon and rice- $37.50 and my boy had the fish and chips-$ 21.99 along with a couple of strawberry lemonades. We arrived to the Sonora Applebee's late in the evening about 10:00pm. Realizing it was November 11th, 2024. My main intention was to get some food for my wife. We had just spent the last 6 hours in the Emergency room. I'm a Combat Veteran from the Iraqi conflict. I had recently had a surgical procedure on Thursday November 7th to have a Cancerous Tumor removed from my Liver completed at the VA Hospital in Sacramento. Due to the medications & Anesthesia supplied to me during my procedure & post operation had caused GI issues for me. I was instructed to go to the ER. Where the diagnosis had then placed me on a Liquid diet for the next 3 days. Applebee's was still open upon my release & my wife was starving. I want to send a Special Thank you to Susan E, our server & her supervisor Taleah for their compassion, friendliness & professionalism. They noticed my Veteran's Ball cap and asked offered the Veteran's day Free Meal menu for me to look at. I explained about my diet restrictions, and due to the late time & close to closing they offered me the opportunity to take the normally Dine-in-only Free meal, to go due to my unique situation. Their hospitality & compassion was very evident to me. Taleah had even come to us at the end of our meal to Thank me for my Service & also offer me a $5 off discount card to use on our next visit. It had been quite a long time I had felt proud of my Military Service, but knowing that I served to preserve our American Ideals & having 2 people be as happy & proud of their positions to help & serve their customers in the food industry made me feel really good. I look forward to our next visit to the Sonora Applebee's & hope to see both Susan E & Taleah. read more

The service was great considering the restaurant was full and they could have used more servers I ordered Fish and Chips. I specifically asked the server to make sure the fish was cooked thoroughly and not doughy inside. Unfortunately, it was. The coleslaw was delicious but there was only about 3 tablespoons of it. The smallest cup I've ever seen served with a meal. The fries were ok but not great My husband ordered Shrimp Alfredo. He was served Chicken Alfredo so they took it back and we had to wait for the Shrimp to be cooked. His coffee was barely warm but he drank it to be kind. They did refill our coffees often. Where did they find the bartender?!? That girl ran this place. Everyone knew her name, Merissa, and she knew everyone's drinks and had them poured before they sat. I don't think I've ever seen someone service people at a bar like she did. You could tell she was not only familiar with her customers but genuinely cared about their service. She remembered my drink from the week before and I had only been there once. She was really patient with some of the very pushy clients during their rush hour and I couldn't say e ugh about her. When my food came out she noticed they forgot my side of Mayo before I did and had it quickly. If I had a business I would recruit this girl as fast as I could! I love Applebee's. The riblets are very good, especially all you can eat for $14.99. I have bought their burger combo many times for $9.99. Their Superbowl free wings was a disaster. It would not accept my order online to get the wings. Calling was a nightmare. Then when I picked up my order on car side to go I was told you have to order online and then eat in the restaurant to get the free wings. What? It didn't say that anywhere that I read. read more

Sorry to have this happen and to say this, but it is not the first time with this particular wait staff/bartender--a young woman, light hair, petite or slender figure--Friday evening, June 6, 2025, around 8:10 pm. I stopped at Applebees by myself to something at the bar before meeting up with my wife. It was not busy at that time and I sat at the bar. Only one couple at the bar when I arrived. I sat there for several minutes and the bartender was nearby but did not acknowledge me. Then three people came in and sat at the bar. The bartender greeted them and handed them menus and was chatting a bit. I waited for a while and still no acknowledgement. Frankly, a bit irritated, I decided I was better off just leaving. Slow service at the bar is not new at this Applebees, but I believe one of the top points of customer service is to at least acknowledge a customer and if you are not going to wait on them soon, at least let them know you will be with them soon. Having her attend to the three people who arrived after I was sitting there for a while is poor. read more
