Applebee's Grill + Bar - Mommy and I :)) - Sports Bars Near Me - Sonora, California

Nothing out of the ordinary food service premade food, heated & served to you I ONLY RECOMMEND THE BURGERS AND FRIES.

Sorry to have this happen and to say this, but it is not the first time with this particular wait staff/bartender--a young woman, light hair, petite or slender figure--Friday evening, June 6, 2025, around 8:10 pm. I stopped at Applebees by myself to something at the bar before meeting up with my wife. It was not busy at that time and I sat at the bar. Only one couple at the bar when I arrived. I sat there for several minutes and the bartender was nearby but did not acknowledge me. Then three people came in and sat at the bar. The bartender greeted them and handed them menus and was chatting a bit. I waited for a while and still no acknowledgement. Frankly, a bit irritated, I decided I was better off just leaving. Slow service at the bar is not new at this Applebees, but I believe one of the top points of customer service is to at least acknowledge a customer and if you are not going to wait on them soon, at least let them know you will be with them soon. Having her attend to the three people who arrived after I was sitting there for a while is poor. read more

Well....We placed an order on-line what we have done numerous times. Tonight I ordered the Chinese chicken salad. Paid for extra almonds extra croutons and extra dressing. I received NONE, no dressing at all and almonds, etc. I got chicken and dry lettuce. My husband received the Asian tacos which were not good at all, and a side of onion rings. It came to $42 without a tip yet. This is high prices, you would think you can read an order and execute the product. No one cares about doing their job anymore. So disappointed read more

Finding a place to eat in a small town that is good is super difficult. It is always a hit or miss, since I feel like reviews can be skewed. Usually a chain restaurant is an ok bet. Applebees is one of the places that are meh. It is ok for a big group with a variety of tastes and everyone should be able to find something. It did just what we intended , feed a large party. The service was ok. I observed several employees being unprofessional regarding their coworkers. Overall a meh experience. read more

llove going with my husband on Thursdays. We sit in the bar area with friend, and Merissa serves us and she is the most amazing person! She greets us with a warm smile, is quick with taking orders and drinks are wonderful. I actually go mostly just to see her and her great personality and service. read more

We had a very nice dinner tonight with friends. Most of all the waitress was a doll!! One of us tried the impossible burger and gave it a ten!!! read more

Their food was great, our server was very sweet and fast. The ambiance is the place is very clean, quiet, and friendly.

The restaurant is going down the hill. The place used to be good but I think depends who is your waitress. Friday we went to get a light lunch before going to the movies. The guy who served us probably was still waking up? He brought my soup without a spoon. Then after 15 minutes he came back holding the spoon in his hand without the proper sanitary protocols. I could no eat my soup. The chicken boneless that my son ordered were a mess. Like some one dumped tons of spicy salsa on. My son barely touched the boneless chicken bones. I did not left any tip at him because the unsanitary thing he did with the spoon. Silver wear should give to customers in a wrapped paper or a napkin. read more

No offense to my cousin who cooks there, but avoid at all costs, dozens of tables were available but we were told it was 2 hours wait for a clean table and there was nobody else waiting in the lobby, this was the only sit down place open at the time or we would have gone elsewhere to begin with because the last time we went it was not a great experience then either, the service was atrocious and the food was mediocre at best and way over priced, never again read more

if i could give negative stars i would. this place is slow as fuck! just go someplace else to eat. i did carside pickup, they said i'd be ready at 7:35pm, our shit wasnt ready till 8:00. also, if you dine in, dont expect to have your drink refilled by the waitress anytime soon, and u can be sure they'll mess up your order someway somehow. so if you like waiting forever for your food and like having your orders messed up, then this place is the place for you. #CRAPlebees read more

Waitress gave us our appetizer then forgot our order. She finally remembered and went to the back. A while later she brought out the order. The food that was supose to be hot was cold.... Discusting..... Won't go back unless they have new management. read more

I have always loved Applebees for years. I'm sorry to say they have about doubled their prices. Ordered 1/2 slab ribs. Supposed to co.e with two sides. One of those sides was loaded mashed potatoes. When I received my bill I was charged separately for sour cream, cheese and bacon. Shame on them. We're done with them. We've spent less at our local steakhouse which has far more quality and freshness. read more

My buddy had offered to take me to get lunch after grabbing a few items in Sonora. I was craving a burger so I had to oblige. The classic bacon cheeseburger and lemonade I got. My buddy got a club sandwich and a glass of white wine. Brooke was our server and was very attentive and was on point throughout our visit today. Thank you, Brooke, you rocked! I'll return sometime soon. I recommend this Applebee's location. read more

If I could give a zero I would! My first time coming here I had my brother and daughter with me, our waiter Jade was horrible and very lacking our drinks were done melted and warm by every time he came to the table to refill. He walked by more than he checked on us. I have no tip. Come to find out next day later this waiter Jade literally Forged his own tip of $4.00 for himself. Now to some it's not a lot but to steal money from customers to give yourself a tip is completely not okay I paid $46.50 and get charged $50.50 do to Jade the waiter stealing money for a tip by his own doing! read more

Yet I can use the ID anywhere else. The ID isnt even expired until 2019 but they still wouldnt serve me I'm extremely upset. To top it off the man that refused my ID didnt even look old enough to drink himself! read more

Watch your checks... We were seated at 3:10 pm. Just my wife and I. We ordered off of the lunch menu pointing out what we wanted to the server. When we received the bill it was for $71.95. The lunch items that we ordered were $11.99 each. Chips and salsa. $5.99 I ordered a bud light. $7.99 She ordered a house Chardonnay $7.99 Bill should have been about $46 plus tax. When we asked her about it she took it to the manager and he "fixed" it and sent it back to us for $67.99. I asked again showing the lunch menu saying the lunch menu shows the dishes that we ordered and received say $11.99 each. Even though my wife ordered a house Chardonnay the bill showed Kendall Jackson for $16.99. We drink KJ quite often and know what the difference is between Sutterhomes and KJ anyway she ordered and received Sutterhomes. The manager gave me some story about the computer automatically making these changes. BS... Just watch your bills because someone is pulling something. We eat there fairly often but I will be paying closer attention from now on. read more

Normally I love Applebees and it's the only restaurant we go to since the pandemic. Today I took my Mom in for a pre-90th birthday meal. I ordered a medium steak and got a well-done steak. I sent it back and after 20 minutes received a medium-rare to rare steak. In the meantime, my Mother was almost done with her meal. I asked for the manager (he did not introduce himself) and he offered me a salad, at which point I asked him to just take it away, as by now my Mom was done. They took my meal off the bill, but felt like they could've done something more (maybe put the soup on the house??). Either way, the manager was anything but sympathetic, and I walked out hungry, and this little celebration was ruined. Aden, our waiter was very nice, and apologetic. read more

Went to Applebee's because Gus's was closed and was expecting at least an average dinner. But it was less than average. The waitress was nice but not intensive and was more into a social situation than being a waitress. My Chinese chicken salad was like it came out of a salad bag at the market and you had to add the little bag of dressing and wonton strips. We ordered a T-bone steak and it was almost $30 with no salad frozen vegetables and inferior me quality. Our froufrou drink was really expensive and turned out to be nothing but an icy slush. So you know that I'll never go back there again and mention that there are other places in Sonora that are better. read more

I went to Applebee's curbside to go to get my order and the order was just all messed up the food was crap look at the pictures I took I put them on the website my burger was super pink when it's supposed to be not pink at all didn't even barely have tomato on it I don't know what that was tomato skin and then when I called to let him know they messed up motor they said okay thanks for letting us know and hung up the phone I get upset when people say let's go eat at Applebee's because Applebee's has garbage food read more

2 months ago I ordered steak and shrimp parmesan with the artichoke, spinach dip and chips, green beans and brocolli. I get home to find no artichoke dip, mashed potatoes ,no brocolli. What can I say it's Applebee's. Another chain restaurant that mostly microwaves your food. Some things are good and some things should be dropped from the menu. I do have to say though the three stars is due to the staff. We always get the most polite waiters. read more

Mountain views as we ate, just Awesome! I truly enjoyed this lunch date with my honey. The ambiance is the same as all Applebee's just better views. Subpar food and service. One of the few sit down restaurants in Sonora and by far the WORST. Not clean, food obviously not prepared fresh, bad service, waited 20 minutes for a drink order, it goes on..... We even came back to give them a fair, second shot. Nope. Same garbage. This time our waitress complained about her manager and blamed being out of many items on their menu on them as well. When we mentioned how that didn't seem fair to her, she said nothing In The restaurant was done by company standards and that they should be shit down. An employee says this?! To a customer?! No thanks.... I won't be back. Many in our community feel the same as I do. I mean cmon Applebees... Can you just do better?! At least try?! read more

Updating my review as of 09/2019. I've come here a few times in the last two or so months. I think they've come a long way from what I remember them being not too long ago! The service had been very good and friendly from every server I've had. I've been ordering the 2/$27 steak with veggies and the loaded mashed potatoes. They've managed to cook my steak perfectly every single time. Which is crazy to me because lots of places mess it up. The food itself is good and holds well for leftovers. I did switch it up and had the three cheese penne and it left a bit to be desired and was pretty pricey for a pasta dish. But, overall, I feel like they're trying (as lots of chain restaurants are (damn us millennials)) and I've been impressed with how far they've come! read more

Applebees is a great place to come if you're looking for something small like appetizers... the dishes are overall pretty good except my only complaint would be that the food is a little bland but a lot of the times I can look past it. Great customer service also!! read more

We are locals. This was our first time to Applebee's. We would rather support local business but we are also in the business of finding bomb Hot Wings. We have visited EVERY single restaurant from Sonora, Twain Harte and Murphy's looking for CRISPY Buffalo Wings, no luck whatsoever. While our beautiful little town has lots of local delicious food, wings were not worth the order around here. We decided to try a chain restaurant and we are stoked we did. They were busy but our server Hanna was great, met eye contact, checked in on us, nice service. Nice doesn't happen too often anymore. it was a great Sunday night out for the hubby and I! Good Lemon drop too. Appreciated the server making sure all who entered wore a mask. Yay for considerate restaurant employees!! read more

Sorry Sonora Applebee's but back in the 2018 your Chef was Amazing and the Service was #1 But NOW the Service was BAD !!! We waited 20 minutes just to get water!!! They tricked me went back again and the food was terrible . It's really a gamble eating care you don't know what you're gonna get.

This place has gone down hill. Prices went up. Food quality and service has gone down. Ordered a appetizer. It never showed up. Parts of the order weren't not right. No more applebees for us. They could also do some cleaning. Window seal was filthy, and sun shade had food or sauce smeared on it. read more
