    Taco salad... ... so good!!!!
    S S.

Great and quick service... my meal was excellent! The carnitas were crispy on the edges like they should be -- the cook knows exactly how to prepare them correctly. The veggies in my salad were fresh. Everything was just right; I'm going to be back here many more times, absolutely. And the margarita -- refreshingly fantastic and tasty as well!

The dining room is a very basic plain decor, and the furniture is simply well-spaced tables.

Jamestown, CA is a small town located in the lower Sierra Nevada foothills, that is most famous for being home to Railtown 1897, a California State Park, that centers around a vintage railroad roundhouse operation from the late 1890's. You can ride a train pulled by a vintage steam engine most of the year, which will build an appetite, especially for Mexican cuisine. How about delicious Mexican cuisine? Check out CC Taqueria, located in Jamestown, CA... The menu is taped to the window near to the entrance door, and is the only printed menu you'll find. This is the "Combination" section of the menu, where I made my choice and placed my order. This is only one of several menu pages, as the restaurant offers a wide array of all your Mexican favorites. The dining room is very plain and the furniture is simply tables, but it's friendly and comfortable. Shortly after I was seated outside, my host, Luis brought out a basked of tortilla chips and a bowl of salsa, which made for a perfect appetizer. The corn tortilla chips were pretty typical of what you'll enjoy in practically every taqueria, and they were fresh, crisp, lightly salted and simply delicious. The salsa was on the dark side, sort of chunky, and chocked with robust flavor rather than heat. Simply delicious! I asked the staff about the salsa and they told me it is made in-house daily before the 07:00 opening time so you know it's fresh. If you're in the mood for delicious, fresh salsa, perfect for tortilla chip dipping, you've arrived at the right restaurant. From the "Combinations" section of the menu, I went with the "Soft Shell Taco" selection. My choice of meat was carnitas, which is marinated, shredded and grilled pork, cooked Mexican style. You enjoy a wide variety of meat, along with a veggie option, and you can choose between one to three tacos; I split the difference and went with two tacos. All "Combinations" come with a generous side of Mexican rice and refried beans, and make for perfect gold country dining. Talk about a beautiful presentation! Each taco began with two medium size corn tortillas, fried on the griddle so they were soft, yet they held together well. My meat of choice, a generous helping of carnitas, was roasted, shredded pork, lightly seasoned and cooked to bite-tender. Toppings included lots of pico de gallo, shredded Mexican cheese, along a generous dollop of creamy avocado. The tacos were based on medium size - not street size - corn tortillas, and each taco included a generous helping of carnitas and toppings. Not only were the tacos delicious, but they were LARGE and filling! I most likely could have simply ordered a single taco and I would have been good to go. At CC Taqueria, you won't leave hungry! The tacos were simply delicious! The tortillas and the meat arrived warm, the pico de gallo and avocado were chilled, and the shredded cheese had just a little bit of "melt." Like a quality hamburger, when your taco arrives with both hot and cold combined, you know you've hit the taco jackpot. I ordered from the "Combination" menu as I simply LOVE Mexican rice and refried beans, and I wasn't disappointed. Like the tacos, the portions of rice and beans were generous. The refried beans were simply delicious, as they were perfectly cooked with most of them soft and on the runny side, but with a few chunks to add contrast. Don't quote me, but I thought I could taste lard... or was it bacon grease? The beans were topped with melted Mexican cheese, which added a creamy and slightly tangy touch to these delicious beans. The Mexican rice was solid, cooked perfectly, and made for a great side dish, but like most rice served at Mexican restaurants, it was unremarkable. My lunch - which is actually a dinner item - was well-prepared, well-portioned ... may I say LARGE? ... and simply delicious. The only thing negative that I can say is I thought the carnitas were on the bland side, but everybody has a different taste, and maybe that was just "me." Great, solid Mexican Tuolumne County Mexican food... CC Taqueria, located in Jamestown. You gotta love CC Taqueria, as it's the only Mexican restaurant in Jamestown, but the friendly staff at CC don't take advantage of their monopoly - you could take a drive to nearby Sonora for more choices - and the staff will treat you like family, prepare delicious food, and offer friendly and excellent service. Oh yes... the dining is very comfortable too... Solid 5 Star dining in Jamestown, CA.

This was our fourth visit, and every single one has been a five-star experience. Our server, Dusty, was outstanding. This was the second time we've had him, and he remembered us from our previous visit--including what we ordered. That level of attention to detail and genuine hospitality is rare. He was friendly, professional, attentive without hovering, and truly helped make our anniversary dinner memorable. Dusty is one of the best servers we've had anywhere. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks we've had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely phenomenal, the loaded baked potato was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared. One of the most thoughtful touches came from the chef. Since we brought a bottle of our own wine, they served a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and beautifully wrote a special anniversary message in the balsamic. It was a small detail that made the evening feel even more personal. To finish the night, we enjoyed dessert out on the terrace by the fire table overlooking the beautiful view. The tiramisu-style dessert was outstanding, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate was another thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly special. We also want to recognize Mary, the manager. She took the time to come by our table, introduce herself, and personally wish us a happy anniversary. It's obvious she's doing an outstanding job leading her team because every visit has been consistently excellent. We also appreciate The Perch's dress code. It helps create an upscale, classy atmosphere that makes dining there feel like a special occasion every time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Amador County, The Perch delivers. Outstanding food, impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and an atmosphere that's hard to beat. Congratulations to Mary, Dusty, the chef, and the entire team. We'll absolutely be back for visit number five.

We ordered a few things such as as the duck prosciutto sandwich, raw oysters, clam chowder, and the absolute star of the show, a side of the spicy habanero garlic butter! The bread for the duck prosciutto sandwich was amazing. I just wish they put more meat and/or fixing because the sandwich was on the smaller side given the price tag. Tasty for sure, especially dipping the sandwich into the garlic butter. Oysters were super fresh, and wouldn't hesitate to order again. They have a bunch of jams and hot sauces that you can buy to take home, along with pre-packaged habanero garlic butter (which we ended up buying and have been putting on everything we've been eating). Definitely recommend picking up this butter for at-home cooking because it adds a nice layer of spice to any meal without being overly spicy. For the jams, there's so many options and the staff was kind enough to do a jam sampling with us and after tasting we ended up with a jar of their padron pepper jelly. Put it on my sandwich at home, instantly elevated it to another level. Staff from start to finish was a 10/10. Very kind, super attentive, and made us feel very welcomed. Overall, I'll definitely will be back to buy more of the spicy garlic butter and jams!

But when I went with my mom and decided to go for dinner it was a wonderful experience!! The restaurant is a little on the older side and they have really revamped it and turned it into a delicious one!!! We started off with their pot of melted cheese, French bread, and butter yum! The French bread was warm soft and easy to pull apart. We then got the "all day special" where you get to pick a salad or soup, a plate of entrees and a side. My mom LOVES this deal with their salmon and I got the same thing only with italian dressing on my salad. Perhaps next time I will get the bleu cheese like my mom did. Unfortunately they do baked potatoes but not mashed potatoes so I went with the fries. They were a bit thick with ranch. But to my surprise the SALMON! Was not as thin as it was last time it was a wonderful portion, cooked to perfection, and sooooo tasty!!! Now I understand why my mom loves going here often! As for the staff it was wonderful I didn't get her name but our server was an absolute sweetheart she was also ON it! All while having the entire section so we tipped her well! She also knew the menu like the back of her hand which was nice when I hadn't been in so long and had questions about the sides, sauces, etc. lol The vibe is average. It was a regular week day dinner hour and decently packed! That's always good! It's family owned for over 45 years, two generations. That's awesome! As a complimentary starter, they provide cheese fondue, sliced bread, and whipped butter. Fondue, don't mind if I do. Rich, smooth, creamy cheese. Bubbling warm over a little steno flame. Lactose intolerant me couldn't resist and tried some. Mmmm. Then they had an all day special two entrees for $32.95. The waitress was top notch. Excellent customer service. Plus she was stealthy, every time I looked at my iced tea , it was always full. I swear I was drinking it. It's an old school steakhouse. Big upholstered booths that I sink into when I sit down. Not a bad thing. The vibe is casual, low key, and welcoming. Family kiddo friendly. They even have a separate room with a full bar, not open to the kiddos.
