A nice combination of Annex and Annesso. It had a really fun vibe with great food and great service. Our waitress knew the menu very well and was able to give good recommendations and answer all of our questions. In my life, I practice: if I don't have anything nice to say, I Don't. But in this case, I feel that if I don't share our experience, it would be misleading to future guests attending the Willow Osteria. My partner and I were excited to see this Italian Resturant open in our area, and we were very pleased with our first few visits. Sadly, our pleasant dining experiences were short-lived. First, the food is mediocre at best and not comparable to other fine Italian restaurants we have enjoyed. We'd never order a steak there again. What kept us coming back were the servers. They are kind, efficient and create an upbeat vibe. Nikko, in particular, in our opinion, is by far one of the best Bartenders/Mixologist Fresno/Clovis has. He is definitely an asset to Willow Osterio. He not only creates crafty/delightful drinks, but he also cares and meets your expectations while you are there. He is very seasoned in wine pairing, and his crafty cocktails make up for the subpar dinners. He can also deliver a full restaurant's drink order while making you feel you are the only person at the bar/counter. At last, our choice not to return to Willow Osterio has nothing to do with the food or service, but simply because of the manager of the restaurant. I didn't care to catch his name while we were there, but he created such a negative, vile, arrogant atmosphere and did NOTHING to ensure guests were taken care of on Friday night, June 13th (other than taking notes, as if he were a student). The service here was spectacular. I went to celebrate my birthday with family. The ambiance inside is very chic in the bar area and on the two side areas. The other seating is similar to Anesso's seating. You can see the chef's and cooks hard at work. They stated that they would start serving lunch too on the weekends. Great experience from start to finish! I was greeted with friendly smiles and taken to the table even though the rest of my party wasn't there. I was immediately acknowledged by our server Briana. She asked about food allergies right away and brought out gluten free menus. I was amazed at the selection of gluten free options and even pasta! They took care to make sure gf items were clearly marked and not cross contaminated. Food was delicious! No complaints. The drinks were all great as well. They brought out a birthday treat for my friend at the end and made her feel special. We sat outside on the patio and it felt like a cozy Spring evening with the heaters not mid December. The new Italian restaurant on the Enzo Table Block. Reminds me of Osteria in Sausalito in the North Bay so I was so excited to try this place. It's by reservations so make sure you book on their website. I reserved for a later time for our anniversary. Upon checking in, we were greeted right away and were seated immediately for party of two. The ambiance is lowlight, easy on the eyes almost romantic. Our server Sky was very nice and accommodating, always smiling and checked up on us an adequate amount of times. Not too much and not too little. Which I really appreciate. We had complimentary white wine and I had ordered the limoncello cocktail. It was light not too heavy. For the antipasti, I ordered the Beef Tartare Crostone and that was my first time having that. It really delivered. I enjoyed every bite of it. Minced dry aged beef, tonnato sauce and chives on top of a crusty bread. I would definitely recommend that. For our entrees, Eggplant Parmigiana and Sirloin with Polenta. Then a side of Calabrian Chili for spice. The Eggplant parmigiana was layered so nicely on a bed of tomato sauce. It was so perfect I thought they had got my order wrong and served me the Lasagna. Lol. It sliced through so nicely like butter, I did not struggle then with every slice of egg parm I slid it into the sauce before every bite. The sirloin was okay, my SO decided he wants meat but I suggested to get the polenta as a side and that was prepared well also. It was creamy and buttery, like a cross between mashed potatoes and grits. The Calabrian chili was a nice compliment for those who would like to add a little kick to their taste buds. This review isn't about the food, since we never even got the chance to try it. It's mainly about the experience we had with the hosts at the front. We went on a Saturday around lunchtime without reservations and decided to try our luck getting a table for three. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. The three hostesses who were chatting at the front stopped and looked us up and down in a way that immediately made us feel unwelcome and judged. We still put our name down, but were told the wait would be over two hours, despite there being several visibly empty tables throughout the restaurant. That was frustrating and honestly didn't make much sense. We considered staying because we hoped the food might make up for the experience, but ultimately decided to leave. For a restaurant that presents itself as "classy" first impression was not classy at all, hospitality and customer service at the front desk should be a priority. The hosts are the first impression guests receive, and unfortunately ours was not a positive one. I've received much warmer and more professional treatment at many other restaurants. read more

We came here for a date night expecting a romantic atmosphere and food similar to Annex and Annesso. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. We were seated at a table "separated" by what can only be described as an 8-inch strip of see-through fabric. Calling it a divider is generous. I heard every single word of the conversation from the couple next to us and they definitely heard ours. By the end of the night, my wife and I knew far more about them than we ever wanted to. I've had more privacy at an In-N-Out booth. For a place marketed as having a "romantic vibe" and being "high class," I expected actual sound-blocking separators, not something that looks like it came from Amazon Basics. Nothing says romance like sharing your date night with strangers. The server repeatedly emphasized that the food was "family style" and that we'd be sharing dishes. I ordered lasagna, and my wife ordered pasta. Her pasta was good; the lasagna was not. More importantly, the portions were absolutely not family style. The lasagna and pasta portions were closer to a kids' menu serving. The only positive thing I can say is that our waitress provided good service. Unfortunately, good service alone doesn't make up for the lack of privacy, misleading expectations, tiny portions, and disappointing food. We both walked out of our "date night" saying we'd never come back. If you're paying these prices and want a private, romantic experience with adult-sized portions, I strongly suggest going somewhere else. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant was nice. Nicely decorated and not too loud. My wife and I split the lasagna which was absolutely horrible. It had a heavy onion flavor. Who puts onions on their lasagna? It was not even edible. The Cesar was nice and light, croutons were hard as rocks. My wife liked her lemon drop drink and almond cookies. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was not busy. As an Italian, the lasagna was an embarrassment. Might give it another shot but definitely not any time soon. read more

We had two birthday dinner here last night and it was extremely enjoyable. The building itself is beautiful and very well designed. The bar area is fairly large and seems very inviting. Our table was near the open kitchen in the back of the house and love our spot. Our waitress was adorable and didn't miss a beat. We had four different entrees and they were all very good. Lovely and lively atmosphere with several different areas to dine. We were there for dinner and were celebrating my birthday. The server was delightful, very professional and knew everything that we asked her questions about, the food, drinks and appetizers. She made sure that my grandson had crayons and a child's menu. The Arancini appetizer was delicious and we would order it again. We ordered the special grilled bread, indescribable. The entrées were beyond delicious, as my grandson described my rigatoni with sausage and Truffle oil as AMAZING. We've been to Annex and Annesso in the early days, and probably go to both on a monthly basis. This is a nice addition to Jimmy Pardini's restaurant group, an Italian pasta place in Northeast Fresno where Enzo's Table used to be. They built it into a very nice place for those who don't want to trek to Annex. We had the tuna crudo, cacio e pepe, squid ink linguini, and sirloin. Our favorites were the pasta - we've had the squid ink at Annex, but this was improved, and the pasta was so fresh. We were worried but pleasantly surprised to see a kids menu, which our kids devoured. The desserts were both amazing - chocolate semifreddo, which if you love Ferrero Rocher, you will love this, and an olive oil cake that was perfect in texture and not too sweet - it brought us back to our trip to Italy. Service was great, and Tom the manager, who we first met when Annex opened, and saw him with Annesso, is now taking on this project. It's in good hands. All in all, bravo to Jimmy for bringing this to Northeast Fresno. The area needed it, and we look forward to multiple future trips. read more

Our server, Gaoger, was amazing, super helpful, patient, and gave great recommendations for first-timers. The food was delicious and came out beautifully, and the ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. What are these reviews?? I feel like society is so predisposed to be disappointed at every level. We had an absolute FANTASTIC time. My husband and I sat at the bar. Our bartender was Adrian. Everything from start to finish was amazing. Not just for Fresno, AMAZING. Ambience? 10. Service? 12 (Thank you Adrian!). Food? Let's get into it: We started with the Arancini. Out of this world. When Annesso first opened, their arancini was out of this world. Miss the basil pesto. Willow's has this slight heat and this creamy mozz center. Amazing. We also had the Raviolo All'uovo. Seriously to die for. I recommend ordering the bread and dipping it in the left over sauce. I don't think the average person understands how difficult this dish is to pull off. PERFECT. Sure, you get 1 ravioli, but if you are looking for quantity over quality, go to frikken olive garden.. you're in the wrong place lol. Caesar salad. Missed the Calabrian chilies like they do at annesso, but the croutons are way better. Browned butter.. great dressing, crisp lettuce. Bliss. Lasagna. My family is from Italy. I am on a constant quest to find one in a restaurant that I can't make better at home. This Lasagna is fantastic. The boar adds a nice touch, almost a slight smokey savory hint. The sauce is fantastic. I was missing the bechamel but overall, 9.8 out of 10. (Don't worry nonna, you're is still the best ;) lol). We finished with the olive oil cake. Think... tres leches focaccia.. but savory and a hint of limon. The best whipped cream on top. Overall.. Can't wait to go back. We love Italian food and have been to Italy, so we were excited to hear this restaurant was opening near our house. I have to agree with several of the other reviews on the food being bland. We had the same experience. We ordered the fried Arancini which was very good (I've had it at Anesso's so knew what to expect.) We also ordered the Ricotta Raviolis, very good but could use some basil, and the Tagliolini with braised beef. This dish had a stew flavor to it because of the beef (would have been better with short ribs - IMO) and was just ok - we wouldn't order this again. Lastly, we ordered polenta. While very buttery, and cooked well, it desperately needed some salt for flavor. We got tiramisu for dessert, and it had hardly any coffee taste to it at all - very disappointing. Our server was awesome and very attentive, dishes were cleared often and water was refilled without having to ask. The ambiance was also good. The Manager, when not standing in the corner on his phone, was walking around occasionally but never came to our table. We'll give it a while before we come back. read more
