Truly authentic German food in a laid-back, no-fuss spot where you can count on a hearty meal. Order the schnitzel and sausages, they never miss. Their beer list is top-notch (and the cider is a hidden gem). We've come here multiple times with friends, and it's always a great hangout.

This place always has space for a large groups, so great to come to if you're throwing a gathering last minute. In my opinion their food and beer is just okay and is overpriced. That being said, their happy hour prices are decent.

I love how you can get your Wurst multiple different ways. We tried the Bavarian plate and the SF style. I was tempted by the nachos, but decided against it. The potato salad on the Bavarian plate stole the show. It's so simple but so good. You order at the counter or find a spot to sit and order using QR code. Once your food is ready, the bring it to your table. The dining area is made up of long tables with benches so great for a large group.

My first time here! Food and beer was pretty decent but unfortunately had a really bad service experience, our group felt like we were being ignored by our waitress at each step of the way (being asked our order without having been brought any menus, having to go up to the counter to grab ourselves utensils) so our overall experience wasn't too enjoyable. Want to come back to try more of the menu, but going to avoid friday night rush next time!

What a fantastic spot to explore all kinds of beers! The sausages are absolutely delicious, and the staff is super friendly. I feel really lucky that this place is just next door to my hotel!

I've walked past here countless times, and finally decided to give it a try. This place is great for people watching and has a nice comfy vive to it. You can order using a QR code, where a server will bring drinks/food out to you, and you can pay using the QR code as well. They have a good variety of beers and all the ones I tried were good. I also had one of the spicy brats and it definitely had a kick to it. The chips were also good, and overall the prices are reasonable for SF. Definitely a good option for a more casual meal/drink!

A dog friendly indoor beer garden (yes dogs allowed inside). Friendly and helpful service where they allow you to taste before you buy. Beautiful decor with communal tables too. Self-service on tap water, board games and sinks outside the toilets are nice amenities. Oh yes, the beer and bratwursts are great too. They have a nice x-section on beer, from pils to IPA to wine. German-style food choices compliments their beer nicely. With the communal tables - we have enjoyed coming here with just 2 people to meeting here with a big group. We will return!

They recently changed their whole menu and only a few smaller, less flavorful sausages now. Food was okay still, but it was quite a let down from what they had before.

My friends have been telling me to come check this place out, and I was not disappointed! First off, the vibe is so cool. Very open and airy. Fun pops of color. They have a large selection of draft beer, so I got the "Hello Sexy" , which was pretty good! Then I got the SF Style Wurst which is this delicious sausage served on a French roll with amazing toppings. It came quick and hot! So good. Finally, I had the pretzels with two dips: beer cheese (my favorite) and spicy mustard. The staff were also so nice and gave great recommendations. It was the perfect lunch in Duboce. Highly recommend!

I'm so glad we did, it instantly lived up to the curiosity. The vibe here is exactly what you want from a brewery. It's unique, cool, and laid-back, with plenty of character and a strong sense of community. It feels welcoming whether you're popping in for one drink or planning to hang out for a while. The beer selection is great, with a nice variety of styles to choose from. The space itself really adds to the experience. There's a relaxed energy that makes it a great place to meet friends, take a break while exploring the neighborhood, or just enjoy a good beer in a comfortable setting. Here's what we noticed: - Great vibe when we arrived...Busy with lots of people, but still some seating at the large number of picnic tables. There's also some outside patio seating in the front. - My wife and I split a flight of beer, which they provide in three 6 ounce pours. We especially liked their Hazy IPA, but the Oktoberfest was very good too. The bartender said their Kolsch is a bit of a classic, and we liked it too, but it wasn't a stand out to us. I later got a 10 ounce pour of their IPA and felt like that was the best of all. The best part is that you couldn't go wrong with any of the beers. - We got chips and guacamole from the taco truck guy located inside next to the bar...You pay by cash, and we got a big container of chips and a humongous couple of scoops of guac for $9. It was just what we needed to go with our beers! Bottom line: if we lived in the area, we'd go back to Standard Deviant for sure!

I know here is SF and this type of behavior is common now. But this place is counter-order only and they only got like 2 servers. So I have to walk over to the counter, wait in line, order my 14 oz beer and small burger with fries, then you charge me a random 5% because it was too hard integrate this to your regular prices. Also, as the usual sneakiness of all of these places, that 5% is added after the tax, which makes it effectively more than 5%. - And as for the cherry on top, they let dogs go and sit on chairs indoors. Having dogs indoors is already a CA health violation, but here is SF, so what you gonna do. After visiting a couple of art galleries in San Francisco on Saturday, January 11, 2025, I…read moreconvinced DJ that we should dine out in the city since we were already out. Remembering that he had been wanting to check out 21st Amendment for some years now, I suggested that we go here. DJ was immediately sold. After calling two to three times to no avail, we temporarily parked nearby, so that DJ could walk in to check if they were still open and serving dinner. Thankfully, they were open, but they didn't hear the phone ring. We reparked, then arrived shortly before 7:30 PM and were seated immediately. I had been at 21st Amendment before for a very enjoyable lunch with some colleagues back in November, 2019 and the place looked exactly how I remembered it. Venue: 4 stars. With concrete floors and walls with wooden tables and chairs & benches, the restaurant has a rustic and industrial air. Upon entry, patrons are greeted by the bar with seating and its attendants. They have an open kitchen from where the cooks can nod greetings to you. The entire space, including the women's restroom is kept clean & tidy. DJ's only complaint was that he did not enjoy some of the techno music that would play in between the salsa and reggaeton songs both of which I was totally digging. Food: 3 stars. In addition to the TALL HAT that DJ ordered and fully enjoyed, below-listed are the food items that we had. Soup of the Day, Gumbo ($7 cup) - I was given a couple of complimentary slices of toasted bread to accompany my New Orleans stew which were nice to dip in the broth and eat. I'm not quite sure what kind of meat was used, but there was no sausage. 21st Amendment's version of gumbo is more like a soup rather than a stew as the broth was not as thick as usual. The flavour was still good, but I did wish that there was okra. When I was at the bottom of the cup and asked how I liked the gumbo, I commented that I enjoyed it, but was surprised that it was completely absent of rice. Our server, Luis, went back to the kitchen to inquire, returned, informing me that the kitchen admitted to forgetting it, so with a new cup including rice in hand, he served the second serving to me and comped the cup from our bill. Wow, I was very impressed by how the matter was handled. Veggie Burger ($16) with Garlic Fries ($2) - DJ said that the sriracha flavour of the aioli was light/faint. He would have preferred a little more punch of spice from the condiment. The garlic fries were not bad. Baja Fish Tacos with mixed greens ($19) - The two tacos were very generous in portions and the fish were perfectly fried golden. I found the cod to be fishy in taste, so I gave my second taco to DJ. He did not notice any fishy flavour which is very interesting because he is a vegetarian and I expected him to notice it much more than I did. Weird. Meat Lover's PIZZA ($20) - We ordered two of these twelve inch pies for to-go for the boys. Both said that they were good. Service: 5 stars. As I mentioned before, Luis was our waiter and he delivered stellar service. As a former server, myself, I noticed immediately the excellent care we were given by him. The entire night, I kept commenting to DJ on every moment that Luis demonstrated his top-notch customer service. We will definitely need to come back...when Luis is working!
