Such a cute store, staff was very nice greeting us upon entering the store! Definitely had a lot of kitchen utensils, appliances and tidbits. I was looking at the mixers and baking goods. They have packaged cookie and cake mixes if you didn't want to do it from scratch. Whole store was organized by appliance type, snack / food type, pots, pan kits and other kitchen goods! Rudest employees I've ever associated with the 3 times i was in the store. I called about returning/exchanging a new coffee machine i got for Christmas that's defective and was told i can't return it because it's been used. HOW ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF THE MACHINE WORKS IF I DONT USE IT!?!?? I was told I'm out of luck and have to contact delonghi. I will never purchase anything from this store again. read more

Horrible experience with this store for a variety of reasons. 1. In March, an item from our registry arrived broken so we took it back to the store. After nearly an hour of trying for a simple return, the clerk was able to return for an emerch credit which never arrived. When we chatted online, turns out clerk sent the credit to a non existent email address by misspelling our email. WS online said they would fix, but instead sent to the gift givers email. We went back to the store and explained the issue and to our disappointment they rudely told us there was nothing they could do about it (even though they were the ones who sent a broken item and also mispelled the email) with no apologies for the many inconveniences 2. For another gift, the shipping box was supposed to have 2 items but only showed up with one. Store told us they couldnt fix this and would have to call online. Online customer service said that we should file a claim with UPS - we explained the box had arrived, it was WS's fault that they didnt put both items in the box. One store clerk asked another if they could give us the item since they had in stock and it was their fault / this was one of many issues we had. Clerk responded we had to file the claim online and nothing they could do. 3. Returned another broken gift this past week after a painful process of trying to return in store. Still have no emerch credit 4. Tried to return a broken champagne glass we received that was sold as part of a set - other glass was fine. Was told had to come back to the store with the other non broken glass and return both or mail it back even though we were just asking for a replacement of the one broken glass and they had singles of it in their store. How does this make sense? Realize WS corporate doesn't make it easy on the stores with a bad inventory system, but clerks in this store also made several mistakes and were not apologetic or helpful in rectifying. I would not recommend anyone registers at WS. read more

I have experienced great customer service numerous times over the years, yet my friend and I walked out of the store the other night talking about how our salesman there, Fred, was The best provider of customer service we have ever experienced in our lifetimes as far as we can remember!!! Fred's warmth, helpfulness, and knowledge about the products in the store was nothing short of superior. I came into the store on crutches, weary&hot but eager to shop. Immediately upon my arrival Fred offered for me to sit down and any of their chairs if I needed to and with the best smile I've ever seen by employee in any store. I had an old gift card I had forgotten about I was excited to use and he joined my friend and I in our enthusiasm, while being extremely helpful in our finding the items that most suited my needs even when I didn't know quite what I was in there for. He not only made my shopping experience easy in what could've been an overwhelming experience, but more than that, he made it so much fun! Fred offered us samples of wonderful beverages at the most perfect time since I was dehydrated. As my we Continued to browse, Fred wound up checking in on us at the most perfect times, helping my decision making easy, and showing me items I know I would've missed out on, along with steering us towards some amazing offers the store was having. I bought 6 things that I loved, and came in today, the following day, with my daughter, as I knew (thanks to Fred), that there would be some things in there that she loved. I was ecstatic to see Fred was working again and we had an even more fun experience, because he was also great helping my 9 year old daughter pick out some items that she loves! Because of the crutches, Fred insisted I sit down on one of the dining room chairs near the register as I cashed out! Fred's Customer service skills were so superior in fact, that my daughter reminded me 3 times today to make sure I fill out the store's online survey about customer service. My daughter has had her fair share of shopping in her mere nine years, and her exact words were that our trip to the store (my second trip) was one of the most fun times she's had in months...and this is coming from a well deserved but semi-spoiled little girl who is Constantly doing fun things with her friends and family. Yes : a NINE YEAR OLD girl said these words about what's essentially a store for home goods! I (actually we) wish that everyone who shops for things in their home "ONLY" go to there (and to him ). Went to this store on 3/31 to buy a gift, after confirming on the website that they had inventory of the item I wanted to buy. When I arrive they say the only inventory they have is the one demo unit which isn't for sale. They said they can ship it to me arriving by 4/7. I went ahead with the purchase as I needed to give the gift on 4/9. Cutting it close but I though WS is a premium brand so they will make it happen. I got a confirmation email saying deliver by 4/7. On 4/5 I go to the email and check the order tracking link and turns out the item is back ordered and the delivery date was reset to by 4/14. No notification was sent to me about the delay, the only way I knew was to go track it. I called customer service thinking again that at a premium outlet like WS they would make the situation right. Boy was I wrong! They said they can upgrade shipping but only if I pay extra for it. Given all the broken promises I'm not about to pay extra for something that WS is delayed on. I asked why they couldn't send an email informing me the item was delayed so I would know and can make decisions accordingly. The Customer Service Supervisor had the gall to tell me that "Customer Service has nothing to do with the emails that get sent to the customer." Wow! Not a premium brand anymore. Premium brands need premium customer service and WS has failed spectacularly in this regard. At a time when the economy is shaky and premium products aren't exactly flying off the shelf you would think WS would try to keep the customers they have. Garbage experience. Didn't purchase anything but had a great time walking around and checking out all the tools and gadgets for the kitchen. What I love most is wandering around and discovering sample stations in little hidden spots around the store. I had spiced cider and peppermint bark. I must say, that peppermint bark was incredible. They had a bunch of it on a clearance table for pretty cheap. Williams-sonoma has everything you need for your own kitchen or they make a great spot if you need a gift in a pinch. The best part is, the complimentary gift wrapping that they do and this is no ordinary gift wrap job... When they come back from around the counter it is as if Martha Stewart herself wrapped your gift! read more

Very problematic experience. They seem to justify their ridiculously high prices by showing how valuable their items are by keeping goods locked away so that you can't simply pick something off the floor and buy it... good luck tracking down a salesperson to go in the back and search, only to tell you they don't have it in stock. half an hour wasted. Disappointing. I figured going in to an expensive store would be fun at least for the experience and for once was prepared to pay their prices. read more

We had an amazing experience here - the manager was so personable and helpful! He really went above and beyond with customer service, even helping us load furniture we purchased into our car! He and the rest of the staff were over the top nice and helpful overall, even during the busiest season of the year. The selection of items for the holidays is also characteristically awesome, and a trip to the store will let you taste yummy Christmas candy and beverages that you can purchase for gifts. I went back to this Williams-Sonoma to get my knife sharpened. The woman who assisted me was the same manager that I'd had a bad experience with before. She was pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful. It was a wonderful experience. A few days later, I got a call that my knife was ready. They do the first knife free for you, which was a nice service. I went back for the knife, and the same manager was there again. She was great...again. Everyone has a rough day. I put my prior bad experience down to the holiday rush, the late hour, and bad attitudes all around (including me). I was happy to see that my one bad experience wasn't indicative of the overall service at this location. I'll go back again and again, because I feel good about the kind of people they have there. I would give 5 stars, but their inventory isn't as good as the Copley location. read more

This company's return policy is prehistoric. I tried to return some Christmas gifts recently- some of which I had gift receipts for, some of which I did not. For the items for which we didn't have gift receipts we couldn't even exchange. Despite being still in original Williams Sonoma packaging. For those items we did have receipts for, they wouldn't give me any in store refund or in store credit. They told me that they could only mail me a gift card. Two weeks later I received a gift card for less $ than what I'd returned. This wasn't disclosed. The fact that they wouldn't immediately just issue a store credit seemed strange. When I received a gift card in the mail for less $ than the amount I'd exchanged, one thing came to mind. SHADY. I'd strongly encourage all to look elsewhere as Williams Sonoma merchandise is well showcased but nearly everything they trade may be found elsewhere. Generally for less money. read more

As a recent owner of the Imperia pasta maker, I was thrilled to begin making homemade dishes--especially upon discovering Williams-Sonoma's "Return to Learn" program, where customers can bring in their items to the store and employees will give live demonstrations. After inquiring about this program at the Legacy Place Dedham location on three separate occasions, I have yet to hear from a single person to confirm dates and times of in-store tutorials. Thus, my pasta maker has been collecting dust in its box since December. Although I could simply YouTube a tutorial, I was attracted to this program's friendly advertising. This company should not advertise something that they cannot or will not offer in stores--that is false advertising. read more

I would skip this location. Today I tried to return/exchange a $1000 espresso machine that wasn't working well and didn't meet my standards. Because of covid we weren't able to return it during their ridiculous return window. We opened it last week and used it for a few days.when we got to the store we were met by Lisa, who was immediately dismissive and rude. She would not even humor returning the item and she could care less why we wanted to return it. After asking for her manager several times she would not get her and insisted that she was the "acting manager on the floor". She was condescending and rude during the entire exchange, blantenly dismissing us and trying to intervene in other assosates conversations. While I wanted to speak to her manager, Kathy (who never came out) I called customer care and they understood the situation and returned the item with no issues. Today's experience with WS definitely lost them a costumer, especially at the Dedham location. read more

Just tried to exchange a Le Creuset pot that was a gift from my 80 year old deaf mother at the Legacy Place WS. What a giant waste of my time. They could not have been less helpful. They said there was nothing they could do without a receipt and that in order to find the order number they needed the purchasing credit card neither of which I had . Turns out this was all BS. I called customer service while I was driving home and they were able to find the order number through my mothers phone number in 1 minute. It literally took one minute for them to send me a new pot in the correct color and email me a return UPS form. The customer service rep on the phone said there was no reason that they couldn't have done the exact same thing at the store. And they wonder why no one wants to shop at brick and mortar stores any more. Absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service read more

I am in man. Shopping is not my thing. I walked into Williams-Sonoma one day to find things that my wife could potentially like and that I liked. And thank goodness this nice woman named Liz or Elizabeth helped me find all the things that I could possibly want. I've never spent more than $1000 before and felt so satisfied. 95% of the e things I got I liked and my wife liked which one is more important. If you get the opportunity to go to William Sonoma I would go to the one in Legacy Center and ask for Liz. It's true that certain people have the hospitality gene and she has it. read more

outrageous. I bought a gift certificate for a family birthday. There was a glitch (the certicate was made out in australian dollars (not by my choice, for sure). It was not redeemable here in U.S. stores. The remedy offered by the service desk was that i buy anoth certificate, call the service desk back and get them to send me the money back, in australian dollars. Yikes, spend another large amount on a second certificate, then trust them that they will honor the australian certificate to get me my money back. Outrageous. My wife was given a gift of measuring cups from this high end kitchen emporium. They were quite expensive as are most items in this store. In a short time the handle fell off. My wife brought the item back to the store but was refused a replacement item. The cups were clearly imprinted with the "William Sonoma" name. One might expect such a policy from a low end store. But if one is expected to pay premium price, one expects premium service. Unlikely we will shop here in the future. read more

Very disappointed! Just visited the store hoping to purchase several items for my new kitchen. Unfortunately, both sales people were less than helpful. Neither could answer any questions about the products and one was walking away as she asked if she could help us. When I replied "yes", her demeaner and responses were such that it was obvious she didn't want to help us. In a specialty store such as Williams Sonoma, it is expected that the sales people know their products and should be more than willing to assist the customer. We ended up going to Sur La Table in Braintree and they couldn't be more helpful. read more

Made a blender purchase here that I thought was a lemon... called Vitamix to complain (no help at all), then called back to the store and the associate here sorted everything out for me, replaced the blender with a newer version, and sent me happily on my way. The sales people are so very rude and unhelpful - making this the standout awful store to shop in the Boston area. I could tell it wasn't a going to friendly when the sales person who was waiting at the counter was rolling her eyes at a customer. When a customer interrupted their artful laying out of crackers to ask a question, both ladies sighed before moving. I was a bit hesitant to asked about the availability of a knife set - and our sales person did not disappoint in the snippy department. Seriously, why? It was December 18th, about 4:30 in the afternoon. ( I was waiting for a Mac repair next door. The Apple store was mobbed and the sales people were friendlier.) My kids go to school near-by and I have asked for them to pick up various items on their way home at W-S. When I mentioned my experience that day, they both chimed in with - Yes! They thought it was just them that thought that. They hate it when I ask for items from that store. We will drive the extra distance to Natick, Hingham or even Copley before spending a moment with the mean spirited ladies of the Legacy Place W-S. read more

I was in the market for new cookware and had recently come upon ScanPan, a ceramic option that was an improvement on non-stick cook way. While shopping for something else I spied it on sale at WS. Instead of $1300, it was on sale for $899. They also had an offer of 25% of any one purchase by opening a WS credit card account. This seemed to be a very good opportunity at a very good price. 2 weeks after I made the purchase and opened up the acct., I returned to the store to swap out a damaged pot top that had been bent during shipping to me. I noticed that the 10piece ScanPan set I had purchased was no longer on the shelf. I did notice a William-Sonoma ceramic 10 piece set and I inquired if it was different or the same as the Scan Pan set. The manager said it was identical to the one I had purchased. It was selling at a price of $399. His explanation to was that, one was Brand and the price is always lower with a Brand purchase. His comment was, "Buyer beware. It is the responsibility of the buyer to do their research." Well, that was a poor choice of words. It really meant, "Buyer beware of William Sonoma." read more
