Arik and his team are very professional, competent and were a true pleasure to have in our house every day. They arrived on time, were always polite, answered all of our questions, made sure our sleeping area in the bedroom was protected from all the construction dust, cleaned up each evening before they left. Arik told us the job would take 2 to 2.5 weeks and it took exactly 2! The only thing left is the glass doors for the shower. Arik brings in the glass guy Rene who measures, discusses what we want, and then orders it for us. When the glass doors are ready to be installed, Arik will come back with Rene to oversee the installation. Arik's price was quite reasonable for the job, and he stuck with it!! There weren't any real unexpected challenges, but he did a few things extra to make sure the job was done right and did not charge any more than his original quote. I called Stone Depot and spoke with Cynthia. Wow, what a difference. She was helpful and responsive and immediately sent me pictures of the Carrera marble slabs they had in stock. Her price was 2/3rds that of everyone else's, and she promised to have it fabricated in under a week. I drove down there, and we agreed together on the piece they would cut. 3 days later it was done and ready for pickup. She had pushed it through because of the fact that it was for my wife's birthday. I cannot recommend Stone Depot in Dedham enough. Cynthia is amazing and the team did a fabulous job delivering ahead of time. If you want to work with a company that is a delight, fabricates a fantastic product, and over-delivers on their promises then you should check Stone Depot out. You won't regret it.

Danielle was extremely knowledgeable, and put us on the right path with regard to our budget, design expectations and really helping us to understand how the entire process works. Right from the beginning, we knew we had reached out to the right company. Then came the build process, in which we were fortunate enough to work with Steve Costa who not only juggled a third-floor walk-up, a building from the late 1800s, but also an extremely pregnant woman who was keen on getting this project off the ground and completed as quickly as possible. Steve led a fantastic group of NKB employees and subcontractors, but I would be remiss to not give a special shoutout to John and Mike who were our dream team carpenters, kitchen décor experts, and mental support during the project. Our dog clearly misses Steve, John and Mike as they became best friends it seems during the project. Additionally, Kelsea from the PMA team was a huge help in keeping the schedule/accounting on track for us. We were THRILLED with the final product (photos attached), and we are so very thankful for all of the hard work of the entire NKB team to bring our dream bathroom to life (before the baby, may I add)! Completion took more than twice the time they estimated. Once completed, the electrical system would not function. We requested the issues be fixed so the kitchen could be functional, but Norfolk Kitchens refused. They acknowledged the electrical problems existed, but stated because they were not legally obligated to remedy their poor workmanship because it was "up to code". Apparently new electrical systems don't have to function properly to meet "code". In our instance, Norfolk Kitchens failed to do work to a standard that resulted in a workable kitchen. Very poor workmanship.

Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

Robin helped me from start to finish with my new house build. Even during the pandemic she has been on top of things and instructing me to get things ordered prior to shipment delays. She and her team have been responsible, proactive, and truly professional. They are communicating with my contractor and his team and his cabinet installer told me it was such a pleasure working with them he would like to do more jobs with them. Any mistakes (Fedex dropped a vanity and it cracked) were handled quickly and replaced at no cost to me. Her attention to detail is incredible. Additionally, she was very focused on saving me money and making sure I was not buying things I did not need. It has been a true pleasure working with Robin and her team again. "But," he offered, "you can use the $180 toward the purchase of a new model." Instead of doing that, I watched a single youtube video about fridge repair, then bent down to look for the part of the fridge that was making the obviously broken-sounding high pitched whine, then googled its part number and bought a new one for $45. That fixed it, instantly. I didn't even need a screw driver. So their business model, it seems, is to half-ass the repair in order to lock you in, and then they sell you a new one for much more money than you'd pay elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if they then refurbish your old one and sell it on the side.
