Wish I read this review first. Went to look into getting Apple Car Play unit replaced. First the store was pretty empty, and had to wander a bit before finding car tech area. It wasn't labelled. Shelves were fairly empty with no information that would help a buyer posted anywhere. When there was a sale person they wandered around without looking at me. Finally asked for help and a salesman came out from the back. He had to consult his phone to see which one I needed, which I get but doesn't make me feel like they know their products. Said it would be over a month to wait for the install, which was weird as the store was empty. On the way out someone asked if I found everything I needed. Where was he on the way in? Same place, just didn't offer to help me. Feels like a dying big box store. Stay away. Let's hear it for smaller retailers where the employees know their product AND have customer service skills. read more

Zero stars. Tried to return an Amazon fire stick today. Never taken out of the box, plus I had the receipt. However, I'm a few days after their 15 day return policy, which is absurd. They absolutely refused to give me a refund, not even a store credit. You have to purchase their membership plan to get a refund. I don't shop there enough to need a membership. Stupid. Few day pasts the 15 day return policy and wouldnt take it back. We were sick and couldnt get there sooner. We are so done with them. Wow, what a mess! I ordered a TV on Friday and it was meant to be delivered Saturday. I needed it for Sunday. No sign of it, and tracking says they'll let me know when it ships. I can't cancel the order. Instead they said I should wait to receive it and if I don't want it I can bring it back to the store for a refund. The date they promise delivery before they refund it is two weeks from now! If I was able to shlep a TV to the store I would have picked it up there in the first place. Now I have to line someone up to carry it out to the car for me and hope someone from the store will come out and get it. What awful service on what should have been a simple transaction. read more

I am so frustrated with Best Buy's Customer Service. After arriving home I discovered that the Geek Squad transferring my data from my old PC to my newly purchased PC (at Best Buy) neglected to give me the power cord to my old PC. I attempted to call the Dedham location (number listed on-line and on my receipt) but trying to get through the automated operator then waiting over 5 minutes to get a customer service live person only to find out it you get their national location. I was told the local store opted out of receiving calls. This is outrageous!!! As of today (10/24/2023), I have ceased being a Best Buy customer. After years of being a loyal customer, the decision not to purchase anything from Best Buy anymore was easy because of its inability to accurately and effectively communicate the overlap of its Best Buy / Geek Squad extended warranty with the manufacturer's warranty. For example, the first year of the extended warranty runs concurrent with the manufacturer's warranty. Consumers like me wouldn't have purchased the extended warranty because it doesn't make economic sense for the first year. An extension that starts after the manufacturer's warranty expires is consumer-friendly and economically prudent. In my case, I purchased a television in December 2020 with a two-year extension; however, the overlap wasn't explained to me. Thus, I was under the impression I had three years of warranty. I learned the hard way because the television's panel needs to be replaced, but the warranty coverage is two years, which expired in early 2023. Another issue with the extended warranty offer is that one can only purchase it during the return period. In other words, Best Buy knowingly offers a service intentionally overlapping with the manufacturer's warranty rather than an offer genuinely beneficial to the consumer. Best Buy argues that the consumer directly works with the Geek Squad, with allegedly better customer service, rather than the manufacturer. Be that as it may, the economics isn't favorable because Best Buy has an expense outlay via the cost of the extension for the overlapping first year, which wouldn't be incurred dealing directly with the manufacturer. Finally, the apathetic response from the Dedham Geek Squad Manager, Mari, about my situation wasn't consumer-friendly. As an experienced manager, I understand Mari's position, yet she solely focused on reciting policy rather than trying to consider any amicable solution. No matter how small, an exception can be entertained and appropriately authorized to satisfy a loyal customer; however, Mari's mind was closed to any path forward. The poor representation of the extended warranty and Mari's indifferent attitude led me to cease my decades-long consumer relationship with Best Buy. read more

Their "price match" is a farce. I found an LG 86" 4K Ultra HD Smart Led TV on sale on their site, Model 86UM8070PUA, for $2,299.99. Good reviews for this model on every site, so I decide to purchase, but they advertise "Price Match Guarantee". So I google the set, and find it for cheaper on three different sites! The lowest price was from NewEgg.com. I read the fine print of the guarantee, and NewEgg is specifically mentioned as a site they allegedly match. All the other criteria match: it's not Black Friday, not a close-out price, they're in stock, not a special "flash" sale, etc. etc. etc. So I try to actually purchase the TV at the NewEgg price, and they said "NO!" They would not match! I asked why, and they said because the set on NewEgg was on sale! What? Well, so was theirs! "Regular price, $2,999.99, NOW Save $700!" So I decided to save $1000.99 and order from NewEgg with free shipping. I don't know how someone can legally advertise something and refuse to honor it, but it's usually a sign of a organization you don't want to deal with anyway. read more

I was just here doing a Promotion for Simple Mobile Powered by T-mobile. I found the latest games, computers, phones, and kitchen ware such as fridges. The staff is great and leaves you alone. And they are knowledgeable. I will stay they can use more staff. Everyone was asking me to help thwm because they didn't have enough staff. It was annoyong but tye staff was so kind to mw I helped out where I could. I'd say this place ia worth buyong at but the price ia fair in its game. Avoid this Best Buy at all costs. We placed an online pickup order (ready in 1 hour, $700 worth of product, we'll email when it's ready). Since we received no email, we traveled an hour to the store to get it. The first associate (who was standing outside because the floor was closed due to remodeling) indicated that the order was not ready due to fraud processes and banking info (card was already authorized and charged) We again waited, and came back up 30 mins later after getting on the phone with the 800 line (who indicated the order was ready to be released), and the associates said customer service was lying and they didn't know where the product was. 5 mins before closing, we tried again and they indicated they "tried to look for it" but couldn't find it on their picking list and told us to cancel the order. $700 spent on 1 hour in-store pickup and 9 hours later, they didn't have the product. Save your energy and avoid online orders with Best Buy. I can understand the mess of a remodel, but at least they won't have to worry cleaning the remodeled store once they go out of business due to Amazon. read more

With the type of customer service they have this place will probably be replaced by an Amazon warehouse. To be more specific, its the home appliances department within the store. They are more than happy to accept the order, take the money and when it comes to delivery, they have no clue when it will be delivered, or the status. Forget calling them, the Best Buy phone customer service is even more clueless than the store. And they love passing you to the next rep who will pass you to the next and so on.. I think the customer reps at Best Buy are rewarded by the number of transfers and length of time taken to resolve problems. Geek squad is a joke! Getting someone on the phone was mission impossible. After trying like 15 times and being on hold for like 6 hours, I was able to speak to someone. My fridge broke down. Repairman came to my house. He said it's cheaper to replace it because it needs too many parts. Geek squad just told me I have to wait 14 days to receive more than 5 parts needed to repair. If the parts don't arrive then I could have a new fridge. In the middle of this blazing heat, Covid and several small children in the house, they won't replace my fridge. Absolutely terrible store. I'm not sure if anyone here actually knows what they're doing or what's going on in the story. It is very poorly managed. I came here for an advertised Black Friday deal ($180 50" 4K Smart Tv) and was told by a worker named Peggy earlier in the week there'd be at least 100 and to show up around midnight. I showed up at 10 pm and waited in line for 3 hours just to find out they only had 8. This was not mentioned anywhere in the ad and I was blatantly lied to. People kept skipping the line in front of me and nothing was done about it. People outside of the line were grabbing tickets for items as well. Seriously? Why did I wait 3 hours in line? I'm aware of the mask rule , however I suffer with asthma and it's difficult for me to cover the whole face. I found the item and took it to the check out counter. I was the only person in line. I had my mask on but my nose was somewhat uncovered. As I stood there a white guy came up to me and rudely ordered me to cover my nose, I tried explaining to him that there was no one around me and I was just checking item out. The curbside crew Manager tried to turn me away. Stated I was not called by this store. I showed him my call log then he asked if I was there correctly for repair, the geek squad representative stated she was expecting me and she said she had alerted the front staff I was coming In Today. Instead of arguing and tell me yo ho to another store he should have checked.He never apologized for the mistake. I feel he was calling my a liar and I had to show proof I was there for a reason. Very poor customer service. Cable company was sending a guy to my home at noon today to fix issue w cable. Meanwhile tv remote is misplaced, not sure if it will be needed, but we decided to get a universal remote just in case. Tried CVS and Walgreens, nope. Was at BB Dedham when they opened at 11, only to discover they are in midst of renovations and purchases are online only w curbside pickup. Ordered remote control online. After 30 min. called the store to see if someone could bring it out, we are racing clock. Woman says cancel order and go inside and get it yourself, faster. I ask if she is actually in Dedham store, they are closed to walk in customers. Oh, no. Well nothing I can do she says. Attitude was not my problem, yawn. 30 min later I cancelled order. This review is for Geek Squad Car Installation guy. First of all I normally go to the Geek Squad guys in Brockton and I absolutely love them. Their always so friendly, knowledgeable and provide amazing service every single time. I guess because of that, they are completely booked up for a few months. So I decided to try out the Geek Squad guys in Dedham and what a mistake. I scheduled an appointment to get car lights installed inside of my car. My appointment was at 5 o clock today. Without even looking at the product, the guy refused the service and said he doesn't want to touch any wiring inside the car which was interesting to me since I know they do Ash camera installations. He was also rude and was rushing me out of the door, I'm assuming so he can leave exactly at 6 or sooner. Anyway, because of this terrible experience, I am NOT doing business at this Best Buy ever again. I just scheduled an appointment with my guys in Brockton and after this, a 2 month wait doesn't seem so bad. My advice to you is if you're looking for quality service for anything being installed in your car, avoid this Best Buy location at all costs! read more
