Overall 84/100 -- was completely dead when we went, get the salmon…read more Went here on a Tuesday night at 8pm and were the only people in the entire restaurant. They lit the fire and turned on the music for us, which was a nice touch. Overall the ambience was very nice and they took care of us. It's rare I order seafood from a landlocked state but the menu was small enough that you either could get steak, seafood, or a wrap. I went with the special of the day which was a flounder with rice pilaf. The flounder was good but the salmon was much better, would only recommend the salmon. The rice pilaf was good as well as the broccolini. The mashed potatoes were fantastic and the roasted vegetables were what you'd expect. Also had the ice cream cheesecake which was odd and wouldn't get again. Bill came out to about 120 for 2 glasses of wine, 2 seafood entrees, and a dessert. Overall, had a great dinner.

An OK takeout experience at Cheers Bistro. I visited late in the evening and it seemed like they…read moremight have been preparing to close the kitchen for the night. Ordering was OK, however, I had to be relentless in asking for updates on my order as there were a few to-go bags sitting at the bar. I stood at the bar for quite a while and eventually received my food, but not without an unwelcoming attitude from someone who I believe might have been managing orders and the bar. The food was OK. The dining room looks inviting and comfortable, however, it seems the bar is the feature, so don't expect a quiet dinner experience. Definitely a good, casual bar experience in downtown Reading. If at the Doubletree I'll try them again and perhaps dine-in.

Cookie Review Only…read more Pre-package cookies - before you go ugh I don't think so, think about how long they've been around, most grocery stores dedicate an entire aisle to cookies in just about any variety you can imagine. There are also plenty of startup companies that have established there place in the markets; Grandma's, Famous Amos, Mrs. Field and the list goes on and on the fore mentioned brands aren't a bad option and I guest could be considered premium cookies when compared to those prepackaged by elves and the most famous chocolate chip cookies who's mascot was a live-action superhero named Mort Meek, the odds that you haven't eaten these are practically zero. It seems all those cookies incorporated the famous chocolate morsel back in the day and most are created through engineered processes that have been totally automated and requires very little human intervention except of course the FQS departments who conducts the shelf life studies to ensure they can sit in the warehouses and grocery store shelves much longer the the cookies you mom created at home. Well let me reassure you all pre-packaged cookies aren't created equal - Sweet Street has seemed to have found a niche and probably stands alone for the most part at least until the next entrepreneur trumps them. I doubt if most consumers know what goes into the majority of the mechanically engineered cookies we have been eating for decades and although labeling has gotten so much better unless your a chemist you probably don't know what the ingredients are - I love the fact that Sweet Street has explained things - real butter dough - cage free eggs - non GMO's - no artificial additives it seems pretty simple to me and believe me the quality shows, they are big enough to share and are filled with big chunks of sustainable chocolate. Honestly l would buy these again but I highly recommend a quart of your favorite ice cold milk be it dairy or plant based...

We were in Reading, PA for a show at the Santander Center last weekend and stayed overnight so in…read morethe morning we looked for a local breakfast place and happened upon Marvel Ranch. It's in the downtown of Reading on a corner. There is plenty of parking on the street. We walked in and there was a sign that said we should seat ourselves. There were quite a few open tables at that time so we picked a table that had a bench seat on one side and a chair on the other. The decor was simple yet updated. The seats were comfortable. We were soon greeted by a friendly server who got us drinks. The menu has many breakfast options, including eggs, sandwiches, omelettes, and messes. I didn't feel like having any meat, so I ordered two over easy eggs with rye toast, and added on their cheesy home fries. My husband ordered the big mess, which was a mixture of eggs, potatoes, onions, peppers, cheese, and he added in hot beef Italian sausage. It came with toast. That dish was huge! He really enjoyed it because he cleaned his plate. My dish also was wonderful. I loved the cheesy home fries paired up with the eggs to sop up the yolk. We did notice that they do a lot of food delivery business, with at least six people waiting to pick up food at any given time. By the time we left, the place was almost full. If we lived in Reading, we would frequent Marvel Ranch all the time. The food was great, the service was wonderful, the prices were reasonable, and the people were friendly. When we got home, we did watch the Gordon Ramsay Secret Service episode from earlier in the year and the staff really took what he had to say to heart and are still killing it!
