Dr. Cohen, and the entire staff at Advanced ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery have been great! I've suffered from ear nose and throat problems/infections the past 5 years. I've been to other otolaryngologists prior to seeing Dr. Cohen and I was always disappointed with the treatment/results. Dr. Cohen took the time to treat my symptoms prior to recommending surgery. I'm 6 weeks out from my surgery and feel amazing! He did for me in 6 months what other doctors could not do in 5 years. The office staff is always very helpful both prior to and post my operation. I've seen many examples, good and bad. This practice is so exceptional that I have found it impossible to replicate by other ENT's. "Doctor" Cohen is easily the worst medical professional I have ever encountered. I received a surgery for an excision of a pre auricular sinus early March and have had several complications after the surgery. William not only botched my surgery, but ruined my quality of life during my final year of graduate school. Take a look at the pictures to see how awfully infected my ear became. He also did not prescribe antibiotics after surgery and only did so after being told to send pictures of my infection via text message (...yes...not even an appointment). I am currently dealing with the consequences of his negligence. William's staff has refused to answer my phone calls regarding the botched procedure; despite William stating I can return for a follow up visit if the sinus reoccurs (...which he even acknowledged may happen). I received a second opinion regarding my ear, which confirmed that the surgery had been a failure and needs to be re-treated. William left me worse off than I was to begin with. read more

Lots of fake reviews on google (Cohen gave himself a 5-star). He's a decent surgeon but his aftercare services and the people who work there are horrible (Except for Cassandra, she's too good for this place). I had a nose job and was showing some very obvious signs of infection a few months after, including pain inside my nose that extends to as far as my gums. I complained that my teeth hurt because of it, his response was just "I don't work on teeth" but he didn't listen to what else I had to say. As a result of not being treated, roughly 50% of the surface area of my nose is in pain, swollen, and my left ear is impacted. The debrox drops did nothing. While looking for another ENT, it eventually led to severe headaches and fatigue, sleeping all day, I went to the hospital and they concluded that it was a sinus infection (not viral, wbc count was normal) and prescribed a high dose of a strong antibiotic. The headaches and fatigue subsided but, the pain and stuffiness are still there. As for the people who work there: For some reason, they gatekeep appointments. I needed to get in one time and the woman told me two weeks, then called back and talked to someone else and got in a lot sooner. While at the office, I told Dr Cohen about the incident and he said "We always have appointments, I dont know why this happened" and assured me that it was be addressed. And it was, because the next two appointments were able to get in within 1-2 days. After some time, Dr Cohen said I'm doing good but I can come back if needed. What he DIDN'T mention is that I would need approval from my insurance first, this caused a two week delay that could have been avoided. Yeah, thanks.. There's also an afterhours line if you need a call back. Didn't work out for me, he didn't respond until a week later. The last time I tried to make an appointment, I told them I was in severe pain in my ear and my nose and she just shrugged it off by saying "he's unavailable" over and over. Would not provide an explanation, just kept repeating herself. When my appointment came up, three weeks later, they didn't call me like they usually do. Probably blacklisted after reading my other review and asking questions. Also worth mentioning that this is Providence, which has its share of controversy. read more

Dr. Cohen truly changed my life! I had an eye cyst that randomly appeared a few years ago, as well as struggling with severe allergies all of my life which left me congested almost 24/7. Dr. Cohen was able to fix both, he removed my eye cyst successfully as well as performed a nasal procedure which controlled my allergies and even allowed me to breathe better. I did mini surgery with Dr Cohen, and I got hematoma. Spent 5 days at the hospital, and needed 24/7 caregiver.

I had waited a little over a month before I was able to get an appointment. The day before the appointment Dr. Cohen's office staff called to confirm. She left a message requesting that I arrive early by 15 minutes to complete the required paper work. When I arrived at 1:30 pm the office door was locked. When I called the office number to see when the staff would be returning I was told they would be back at 2pm. I am disabled and to stand around in the hallway for 15-30 minutes is very uncomfortable. There are no chairs. When the girls returned at 2:10 they took the other patients before me. The other patients and I were talking while waiting and my appointment was at 2 the others were 2:15 and 2:30 needless to say the staff was angry at me. Since lacking professional etiquette I was not interested in the way they conduct business. My insurance sent me elsewhere. read more

I made an appointment for 9:40am and arrived on time.   While I waited, 4 other patients came in after me and they all got seen and at this point I've been waiting for 40 mins already.  When asked, the receptionist told me that my appointment is at 10:30am.   This is incorrect and it's very poor service that they change my time without informing me.  About this doctor I will summarize later in this review.  However, his staff is terrible and has no sense of urgency or care when they're work.   My 2 experiences has been aligned with other patients who left negative feedbacks about this office.  These people behaves and act like they absolutely hates their job but most importantly they have no business of being here to promote well being.    I did not get seen by Cohen until 11:42am when my appointmentwas for 9:40am.  When I told him about how I waited 2 hours to be seen when all other people who entered the office after me all got seen and left;  instead of apologize or recognize that this is an issue, he look irritated and started to act like a "Karen" and gave me BS excuses.  Which add insults to the frustration.   This doctor should be ashamed of himself.  He has no ethics nor care for his patients.  He's in this business to make money.  How can you be a ENT doctor when your patient has symptoms and you don't even care or make the effort to look inside the throat?? How can you diagnosed or treat patients when you don't even look? This is clearly lazy, negligence, and don't care attitude.  He is rushing us out when I repeatedly said please look as new symptoms had developed in my throat since the last visit.  After I insisted many times he made an attempt and look inside and saw.   My symptoms has been a year and it's processively got worst because he did not treated me properly.  I will have to go to a different doctor for proper treatment.  I will hold him accountable depends on the outcome of the new doctor indicated for me and for his mistreated and missed diagnosed.  He has no respect for his patients.  Google my symptoms has better results and I learned a lot more than seeing this crook.  We need a doctor that fully in the business to help and promote well being not a money hungry unethical crook.  His smirky face shows a big Karen sign I should have replace him long time ago.  If you read this Cohen, you should be ashamed of yourself.   My feedback is aligned with many other patients who left feedback for this office.  The medical board should revoke his license. The worst ENT doctor I have ever seen. I visited this doctor on 10/14 for ear pain. I used an ear wax-sucking instrument to clear the wax and the pain got worse. He prescribed ear drops to reduce pain and inflammation, which required pre-authorization. I followed up with the doctor's office a couple of times I was told that the nurse working on pre-authorization is on a week-long vacation and I would have to wait until then. I wanted to speak to the doctor but he never called back. When I followed up the front office disconnected the call. read more

I met Dr. Cohen over a year ago through my primary care physician's recommendation. I am so relieved I finally found an ENT who not only has the skill, knowledge and experience to help me, he has such a warm and friendly personality. I have unfortunately had a few very bad experiences with a past ENT which I will not go into, but Dr. Cohen completely fixed all my issues. The previous surgeon really messed me up. After a year of working with Dr. Cohen, he performed the surgery I needed so my nose is no longer collapsing, and I can finally breathe properly. He is extremely thorough. In each appointment I have had with him he spends as much time as I need answering all my questions. Because of that amazing quality, there is sometimes a wait to see him, but that is normal for any specialist that is this talented that I have ever seen. He is 100% worth any wait I have had, and my husband agrees - who was with me one of the times we had to wait. Absolutely worth it he said. His staff are super friendly and helpful and work to accommodate your needs. If you are not able to get ahold of them - just be patient. They will get back to you. Make sure you are pressing 0 for the main operator. The after-hours exchange is also super professional. They have direct communication with the doctor if needed. They also give their patients the ability to text a question which has really come in handy as I was recovering from my surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has ever struggled with ENT issues. My mom is actually now going to see him for issues she has had for years. He is not even in her insurance network so she will be paying out of pocket to see him because of the amazing care she has seen him give me. read more

My father had a nosebleed that sent him to the ER on friday and was referred to Dr. Cohen who was able to make room the following monday. As a physician assistant myself I always want to leave a review if a doctor and staff were exceptional. This was definitely the case. Dr. Cohen had a great bedside manor. I called their fine printed number on the form "Billing Questions: (714) 628-1313" just now (10:06PM) expecting to leave a voicemail for whatever receptionist to get back to me. Some woman picks up and monotonously repeats "William Cohen's office answering service". Surprised, I start telling her I received a bill for an outpatient visit in 2016. She cuts me off "Ma'am you have a billing question. Call back Monday at 8" Me: "Oh.. What times do you usually --" And she hangs up. I strongly advise against choosing this clinic. Their receptionist is shockingly unprofessional, and it's evident she hates her job. After months of pain, my appointment day turned into a nightmare. The day of the appointment I could not find the building as the workers at front of the hospital kept telling me it was on a different floor. I called the receptionist at the front office to ask for assistance and she was very rude. She told me that I was on the 5th floor and that the building is on the 4th floor and I would be be late so she rescheduled me to come back in 2 months. She also told me to that I better have my auditory test done which did not even apply to me as I was there for just an ear cleaning. Fortunately, I found a compassionate doctor elsewhere and who took me in the next day. The unprofessionalism and rudeness of their receptionist are enough to drive potential patients away. This review would be zero stars if it was an option. My daughter received a referral to this office as a follow up for a recurrent cholestoma. She had surgery almost one year ago making it a total of five surgeries. When she called to verify her appointment she was told she is not allowed to self diagnose and "needs to have problems to be seen". Excuse me? It is standard to follow up every year to check for a new one. My daughter was interrogated for thirty minutes and she felt she had to make up symptoms to be seen. I told her immediately to cancel. I am filing complaints with Blue Cross, the primary care Dr., and any other outlet I can find. Go anywhere else but this office for care. read more

Review for Orange office: 1. Scheduling - appointments are 1-2 weeks out at minimum. I had acute issues (could not hear out of one ear, pain in the other), an international trip scheduled, and due to being a new patient they attempted to schedule me over a month out. After several minutes and having to speak with the office manager they were able to get me in, the process was still arduous. 2. Wait time - I've had to come here three times. I have not waited less than 45 minutes each time. This time was a hour and 45 minutes for a 3-5 minute treatment. 3. Waiting room - uncomfortable chairs. Crowded each time. It's very small and since it seems he over schedules and runs behind (see wait time), it is extremely uncomfortable. Loud children each time I've been here. Ants were crawling on me. The doctor did tell staff to deal with the situation. 4. Cleanliness - trash on floor each time I've been here. This past time, ants kept crawling on me. I would move, but there are no other chairs and I'm sitting near one of the few people who are quiet and not coughing. 5. Quality of service - this is my 3rd time for the same issue. I don't understand what's going on, but it seems like guess and check. The doctor did not do any tests except a visual examination, prescribed the same ineffective treatment as my PCP (who referred me since it did not work). This is the only ENT available in my health group and is the primary reason for switching. He is also a cosmetic surgeon and my appointments have been bumped to accommodate cosmetic surgery. read more

Nobody called me back and the option to refill a prescription simply hangs up on you. CVS tried to call and they couldn't get through either. Finally went in in person and was met with attitude up front when explaining the debacle. I waited as they sent the prescription approval electronically to CVS. Guess what? CVS never got it. Still waiting Then it was 9:45... another guy got up and said he had a 9:15 appt. They said there was one person in front of him. He went in at about 9:55. I waited. Now, through all of this I overheard one of the receptionists calling people saying, "Dr. Cohen's schedule has changed, so we need to change your appointment." She literally called 20 people while I was sitting there. It became clear to me that a patient's time was not valued. I got up at 10:03 and asked when I would be seen. She said it would be 5 minutes. I told her if I wasn't in there in 5 minutes I was cancelling. After about 8 minutes I got up and told the receptionist I was cancelling. She didn't even look at me when she said, "Ok." Dr Cohen said that he could fix it, however he might have to change my left ear to make them match. $3900.00 later both ears are pinned, pulled tight in the center, and the tops stick out especially the right side. I've actually had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Cohen and his office staff. The whole team is always pleasant and timely, but the main reason why I go is that he gets results and takes his time with you to make sure you understand his "opinion" on your situation. Sure, there have a few times where I've had to wait a little longer to be seen than the appointment time I booked, but it's well worth it because you get a solid experience and opinion. He also has a lot of cool/innovative procedures and technology that other doctores are slow to adapt to. Overall, I'd give him an A+ in terms of overall quality of care. For me personally, I dealt with a chronic sinus condition for over 5 years and was left helpless/frustrated because I got nothing but the run around from other doctors/specialist. After being referred to him by a friend, I saw an immediate improvement in my health/condition. Honestly, after reading some people's reviews on here it sounds like ya'll need a wake up call. You don't know what a bad doctor's office really looks and feels like. I used to be under an HMO plan where I was sent to a specialist who 1) didn't even have a receptionist 2) yelled at me for not wanting to change my appointment time 3) had a office that was actually dirty -- not just ants or pieces of trash, I mean dirty walls. When I demanded a new specialist, they sent me to Dr. Cohen. Not only was Dr. Cohen's staff kind, but they were also communicative and took the time to explain the next steps I needed to take. People need to learn that going to the doctor isn't like going to get your car fixed--in and out quickly. Once I saw Dr. Cohen for the first time, he actually talked to me. He asked about my specific issue and what my signs were up to that point. Dr. Cohen took the time to look at me as a person on a whole level (which is rare for me to see in doctors nowadays and I'm a person who has multiple issues - where I need to see specialists often). So, for me, waiting to see him for 45 min. is not a big deal. I rarely see great doctors whose wait time is less. You wait because Dr. Cohen takes his time with his patients. Have you ever worked and served people? I've seen patients in his waiting room pacing the front room giving attitude to his staff for not having paperwork ready. Like that's there fault? Technology can take time. Well, no wonder his staff might be rude to you? Try having people like that in your face when all you're trying to do is your job. Dr. Cohen's staff has been incredibly helpful and kind--they even crack jokes with me! I have no clue what ya'll are talking about. Not to mention, Dr. Cohen is one of the best specialists I've seen. He has made a plan for me and I am going to follow the steps. If he finds out what is wrong with me, great! If he doesn't, I know he did all he could and I move to another specialist. If I could rate zero, that's what I would give them. I did a sleep study on Dec 29 for sleep apnea. Here we are February 23rd with nothing to show for it except endless calls that go nowhere.. They said I should have the machine 7-10 days after seeing the Dr. I saw him approx a week after the study. I waited, and waited with no one calling me. So I called and called and called, trying to get a call in, finally they answer. *Apparently its my fault because I hadn't talked to the Dr(wrong, I saw him approx a week later). *Well it must be Apria's fault(the supplier). (wrong, the Dr. forgot to order the equipment). *Maybe my insurance hasn't approved(wrong, I have a PPO.. they approve everything) *2 weeks later here we are still waiting, me making ph. calls everyday that I have to leave for voicemail or with the answering service. IM LEAVING FOR A TRIP THIS FRIDAY FEB 24TH AND I NEEDED THAT EQUIPMENT Such a disappointment, I would never recommend them to anyone.. It's so pathetic. read more

The worst ever!!!!!! We were referred to this office for my aunt and when making an appointment were specifically told to go to the Placentia office. After making arrangements to get s ride there, the office is locked. When you call and select ANY of their phone options you don't get a person. After some sleuthing on my part, I can see they have another location in Orange however when I try to find out if I can go there immediately and still keep the appointment- again no answer. I would never do business with a doctor who doesn't have ANY staff that you can speak to. I can't recommend a dr that doesn't have time for its patients. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Cohen for many years. He is an excellent ENT and Surgeon. He has really helped me with ear problems and has operated several times on my Mom. He has an excellent bedside manner and is overall a great person. I have recently moved to North Carolina and I always schedule appointments with him when I'm town for ear wax impaction and sinus issues. My mom has skin cancer and she will only have him do the removal because of his amazing surgeon skills. We show up to the appointment after keeping my daughter home from school and taking a day off work. The staff would not even help is after already taking her to emergency and urgent care. Frank figured it out....haha...really though. I was in an exam room for an hour + one day; I got to hear Dr Cohen patiently attend & consult with 2 others, including myself. I was surprised by how much he cares. Every patient received his full attention, listening ear & compassionate discussion ...no rushing you out the door. I think Dr Cohen & his staff are very busy between 2 offices and there is no shortage of people suffering terrible sinus pain, sadly. That said, I believe Dr Cohen & his staff are worth the wait.
