I was recently a patient of Dr Applebaum's at The Enhanced Dermatology of Orange County. I came in for an examination because of a cyst. The appointment was quick. They drained it and had me out in under an hour and had me scheduled for a free follow up the following week, which the cyst area healed well and needed no further follow up. The Dr. and staff have amazing bedside manner. They also have good COVID protocol: masks required, temp check at checkin, well spaced chairs (or wait in your car), sanitizer at each station. I told dr. Applebaum it was my first time at the dermatologist and that pimple popping videos were fascinating to me. Dr. Applebaum is the epitome of a good doctor, if not THE BEST. I had an appointment scheduled for a month away, but when I went to bring in my sister for her appointment I mentioned to Dr. Applebaum my concern about a growth on my forehead. He didn't even hesitate, he quickly looked it over and identified it and removed it right then and there. No questions asked. No wait until your appointment. Just bam, got it done. Just an overall amazing person. Bedside manner is phenomenal as he assures his patients that everything will be okay and done to fix whatever is ailing them. My sister who is suffering from severe acne was in tears at one point during an examination because she was so distraught about her appearance, but the good doctor assured her that everything was going to be okay and that there are solutions to alleviate her problems. He also makes sure that you don't waste any money and finds ways to get you discounts on prescriptions and will gladly refill your prescription in lieu of additional doctor's visits. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Dr. Applebaum. This was my first time here and everything went perfectly. The receptionists are friendly and quick to get everyone processed. It was only a 10 minute wait to see Dr. Applebaum. This guy doesn't mess around. He took care of business and got me out of there in about 15 minutes. All while making me feel comfortable and un-rushed. I don't really want to go into why I was there for my visit but lets just say Vegas finally caught up with me. Totally kidding! What is it with these rude front office people? I'm a first time patient who was trying to make an appt. and...Whoa, I got shocked out of my happy mood by the person answering the phone. I was unclear on which doctor I wanted to see. Instead of helping me she huffed and puffed and directed me their website. Hello, don't you think I've already been there?? I was calling for more info! She put me on hold and then said, "so which doctor did you want to make an appt with?". Before I could get another word out she said, "I'm on the switchboard, please hold!". I came here looking for a solution for my acne. The staff here is the WORST. Every time I go I sit in the waiting room for at least 20 minutes. When my name is finally called, Dr. Dangaran's nurse was extremely cold. When we got to the room, she just went down the list of questions on their iPad, and clearly couldn't care less about how I was actually doing. It also took her 3 tries to draw my blood; I've never had that problem before. Then I waited another 10 minutes for Dr. Dangaran, and she spends all of 5 minutes talking to me, blowing off my questions and concerns. She wanted me to go on a very serious medication without telling me any of the side effects or giving any real information about the drug at all. I hear Dr. Applebaum is good, but after my experiences, I'm done with this place. There are so many better offices out there. read more

Every time I make an appointment to come to Dr. Dangeran I have to make sure I take an entire day off of work. It is always at LEAST an hour wait to get in to Dr. Dangeran from your scheduled "appointment" time. Very unprofessional with a huge lack of care or consideration for her patients lives and time. Not sure if she is always late in to work or what but the rest of the doctors seem to see their patients closer to their scheduled appointment time...shouldn't that always be the case? I guess it's my own fault I keep coming back HOPING she'll have more consideration next time around. This will definitely be my LAST visit. I'll be seeing Dr. Applebaum from now on! read more

I have been going to Dr. Applebaum for over 20 years for a variety of skin conditions. I would not go to anyone else! One of my conditions requires a delicate injection into the lesion on my skin and will leave a horrible scar if not done just right. I came to see Dr Applebaum for a bump on my face that turned out to be a basil cell. I was nervous but he was so patient and kind that I felt assured quickly. He burned off the basil cell as well as some other a spider vein mark and sunspot. I have come back for follow up visits and Dr Applebaum is always great! I came here to see Dr. Dangaren. She is very nice and understands there are certain medications I do not want to take. She created a great regimen for my skin type. I don't have bad skin, but I do like to take care of my skin. Great doctors, but they seem to think its acceptable to allow their patients to wait over a half hour before being seen. The receptionists are sort of rude, and don't seem to care that you have other things to do. I've been there when the waiting room is empty and have waited a half hour. This is really unacceptable to not respect your patients' time. read more

Was referred to this office by a friend of a friend. I should have read the reviews. The staff is hideous like the reviews said. Let's start with they charged me twice for two separate transactions on the same day. I'm kinda still u clear how since my credit card has a chip but it's besides the point. I called back the next day. Spoke to the office manager, Stasha, who is in charge of the office. She begins to argue with me that the other charge was for my daughter. I said I don't have a daughter. She advised me to contact my bank and ask them. I'm like - the two charges were posted. You want me to file a fraud claim they my bank? Otherwise, the refund is on your end. She said - it would take her a couple weeks to look for the information and I could call back them. So let me see- you changed me twice and clearly this was a mistake- and you want me to call back in a few weeks when you find time to look up the transaction ? This was her quote - "of money is that right for you, I will cut you a check today. ". No apology, no acknowledgment of wrong doing- but instead assumes money is tight for me because I have no interest to wait a couple of weeks for her to sort this out. Are you kidding me ? Who says that anyway ? I asked for the owner to contact me back - but he didn't. Needless to say I walked in to pick up my money in a check - with no apology from this cow. I will never be back. Would have given a one star if Dr. Sarah Stanowicz wasnt decentt. She was attentive, very friendly and somewhat helpful. I didn't really learn anything about my rashes but she did give me some free samples to try. The front desk was fine when I first went in but the admin there is terrible. They overcharged me and I had to call in for them to refund the cost. They just kept promising I would get my reimbursement back the following month. It's been 3 months and I still haven't gotten my money back yet. They are either crooks or their processing is just freaking bad. read more

I saw Dr. Applebaum for melasma left over from my recent pregnancy. Dr. Applebaum was pleasant and helpful. I came in thinking I was going to get laser done and he recommended a more conservative (and less expensive) approach of prescription medicine first. I appreciated him looking out for my best interest. I've also been seeing the aesthetician, Amber, and I've been very pleased with the results. She too takes a conservative approach and is very knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous about getting treatment in general, but I feel comfortable with Dr. Applebaum and Amber. read more

I've been to see Dr. Applebaum three times now and have to say he is very nice, listens to what you have to say and immediately looks at the areas of your concern. My first visit was for a full body check since I had never had one & had been a constant beach person in my youth with no sunscreens. He was thorough and took care of several areas that were not anything serious but were unsightly. I really like his knowledge and how he gives you the feeling that he has time to listen to you. I highly recommend him & will continue as his patient. I've read some pretty bad reviews of his office staff, but had no problems myself. He's the best in my book! read more

Still sitting in the parking lot, I actually created this yelp account to review this office. I have been a patient of Dr. Applebaum's for about 7-8 months for persistent (though not severe) acne and a common frustration was his consistent lack of familiarity with my condition, the medication HE prescribed me, and my progress, as if none of my medical history was accessible to him and nothing was recorded during his note taking during every office visit. After a particularly stressful few months of the various Rx's having unpleasant side effects, I decided to give him one more visit as a bellwether to determine if I would continue his treatments. I've always waited around 15-20 minutes for my appointment, perhaps not unusual for a busy office with multiple doctors and many patients. However, today I waited an unacceptable 50 MINUTES and the infamously terse office assistants could provide no explanation for the wait. Finally brought into a room, I was sending an email when he arrived, and opted not to drop the phone, but rather finish the sentence I was typing. He immediately chastised me for "wasting his time texting" and offered NO APOLOGY for being nearly an hour late. Needless to say, I will not be returning and hope no one else has an experience like this one. read more
