They were outstanding from start to finish. I have a 2012 Ford Escape that needed a new transmission. I called, and spoke to Tag. He laid out all of the options - with explanations, and did not make me feel pressured in making my choice. I feel they were honest, and were not trying to make the most money out of the job, but rather wanted me as the customer to be happy with the overall experience. When I chose the least expensive option, they still treated me like a valued customer. They completed the job on time, and within budget. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel their customer service and quality of work was so exceptional, I wanted to make sure to let others know about them. I will absolutely use them again if needed, in fact I won't go anywhere else now, and will refer all my family and friends to them as well. Wilf's has had my car for 4 weeks. They are doing work under warranty. They continue to stall giving excuses that they are waiting for parts. I have a Ford Escape, there is no way it takes this long to order a part. If we don't call them, we don't hear anything. I would take my car somewhere else but we have coverage there and it would costs us a fortune to get it fixed elsewhere and they know it. They won't even give me a courtesy car. Other than going to the Better Business Bureau, I do not know what do. I will never use them again. They said they look after their customers, no they do not. read more

I took my standard 2003 ford focus in for a new transmission. I mentioned that I was interested in saving money and they found me an inexpensive but reliable salvaged transmission. They also offered to replace my clutch for a fraction of the price of a normal clutch replacement (as the car was already all taken apart). They asked if I wanted a new front axle for $150 (just the part) and I declined as I was going to get my front shocks replaced soon. When I picked up my car that day, they had replaced the front axle for free. Also, my car broke down for other reasons after picking it up and they very generously sent a tow truck and didn't charge me. Highly recommend their clear and friendly service! read more

My transmission began to fail and I limped my car into my local dealership to have it looked at. After some diagnostics they told me that to replace the transmission it would be $5,600.00! Plus tax!! This was more than half the value of my vehicle, and sorry... no courtesy car provided. I thought I'd try Wilf's. 40 years in Business. A+ Better Business rating. They offered to get my car towed. Set me up with a courtesy car. They were professional and friendly.Great communication. And they quoted me exactly 1/2 of what the dealership quoted me for the repair, and then came in under their quote! It would be hard to ask for a better customer experience. After receiving a $1000+ quote from Volkswagen to replace a leaky transmission valve (yikes!), I decided to do some sleuthing to see if I could find something cheaper. I did some calling around and found Wilf's. From the get go, the first phone call, Rod and Wilf have been courteous and friendly to me and my precious car. They were able to look at the car quickly and were accommodating to my schedule. After they had my car for an hour or so, they patched up a miniscule leak, and didn't charge me for it, but they asked to see me again in a month. No problem! When a month passed, I called them back to schedule something and they remembered my car from a 5 second conversation, and checked it again for free. Now, I don't need something to be free to feel like I've been offered great customer service, but I do need to feel taken care of, and NOT taken advantage of (I'm looking at you, VW, and yes, it's with the stink eye!). I would gladly pay for services here if it was an appropriate and proportionate fix, which I feel like they would suggest if needed. Honesty really does pay! read more

My faithful Versa, which has never caused me a day of trouble, suddenly started having transmission issues - the equivalent of a perfectly healthy person suddenly being on the edge of heart failure. The dealership told me they'd have to replace the transmission, which was going to cost me upwards of $3,400. This is never something you want to hear out of nowhere. Fortunately, someone at Art's Automotive pointed me in the direction of Wilf's. Wilf's had a look at my car, confirmed the same problem the dealership found, and said they could just replace the stepper motor for about $1,200. I was more than willing to give that a try, especially given the great reviews here. They had to source the stepper motor, and it sounds like it wasn't easy to track it down, but they kept me in the loop with what was going on and when they'd expect it to arrive. My car was running well enough to keep going in the meantime; it was more of a question of inevitable failure at some point. When the day came for the operation, they let me have a courtesy car. Everything went smoothly, right on schedule, and my Versa has been humming along as well as before. Everyone I spoke with at Wilf's was pleasant, intelligent, courteous, and even fun to deal with. I got the sense they were honest and doing their best at all times. I hope not to need them again, but if any other transmission issues come up in the future, I know where I'm headed. read more

The transmission going in your car is a big deal. This is a place where you can feel comfortable you are getting great, honest service. When the transmission in my Nissan Frontier started acting up I brought it here cause it was near work. Wilf himself looked at it, DIDN'T charge me, and then called Nissan on my behalf to argue that even though I was outside my warranty time it should be covered under warranty. He did this even though he knew that I would have to take my truck to Nissan to get the warranty work done. He is an amazing and kind man! He was able to successfully diagnose the problem and got a $5000 dollar bill covered by Nissan! read more

Its wonderful to find a business with good old-fashioned honesty. I had a potential problem with my transmission and was referred to Wilf's. Brought the car in, discussed the problem and left it. A few hours later, had a call that they had not been able to find the problem, that it was probably not the transmission and I could pick up the car. Wilf told me of all the steps they had taken in trying to diagnose the problem, including several phone calls to other experts. In the end, Wilf refused to charge for all their efforts. My transmission basically blew itself up - had my car towed here after reading some online reviews. Service was excellent, and they turned my car around in 3 days with a completely rebuilt transmission. Had to replace everything inside. I dealt with Rod, who showed me the innards they removed after I asked to see it, and he was more than willing to answer my questions. I did have an issue about 2 weeks afterwards with an oil leak, which they determined was a result of the transmission work, and Wilf took care of it with no questions or fuss. I grew up as a backyard mechanic, so I'm always wary when I need to get work done as I've met my fair share of shady/incompetent mechanics. Wilf's was great, I would definitely recommend them.
