I saw a raccoon climb my house to my roof. I thought it was on the roof and going up and down but…read morewhen Lookout came to investigate I was told the raccoon had ate it's way into a chimney vent and was occupying the crawl space. And so began the work to get it out. A trap was set on a Thursday morning and by Monday morning the raccoon was trapped. Every morning someone came out to look at the trap to see if anything had been trapped. After the raccoon was trapped, another trap was placed to stay up there for a few days to make sure there is only one. Thanks Harries! The woman I spoke to didn't think they could, but took the time to look into it and even sent someone out for a second opinion. The technician confirmed that they wouldn't be able to resolve the problem, but gave me a couple suggestions on what I could do. When I had an ant problem a couple weeks later (bad luck, I know), I immediately called Ampest. They were able to send someone out right away, he took care of the issue, and I have had no problems since then. I hope I won't have to call them again, but if I need to, I know I can count on them!

The exterminator came out and determined that a squirrel had built a nest on one side of the roof…read more He climbed up on top of the roof (this is a three story apartment building) to set traps and came back every day for a week until he caught the mother squirrel and all the babies. He took the squirrels out to one of the suburbs to release them (apparently it's illegal to kill them). He also sealed up the hole where the squirrel had come in as well as another hole on the other side of the building. He was very thorough and took care of everything. Wow, can't say enough good things about Rich.... despite not really working in the city, Rich first…read moregave me lots of suggestions about what to look for to determine that I really had a squirrel issue, then when I followed his steps and found out that I did, he offered to come on the weekend to assess and see what he could do. After an inspection (he saw the squirrel huddled in the attic, which could only be reached by a two story climb and a walk on the steep part of my roof) Rich came up with an action plan and some backup plans....and then, in speaking to a neighbor, we realized that the problem was not going to be able to be addressed by any solution in my attic. Rich gave me suggestions on how to proceed and we did a walk around my block with him showing me exactly where the problem spots are. The cost for this? Nothing. He spent a good part of his Sunday morning stalking the squirrel, climbing up my steep roof, and sharing his knowledge on how to discourage the squirrels and wouldn't take any money because he--through no fault of his own--wouldn't be able to fix this issue. I really hope I can get the squirrel issue managed...and I hope even more that I don't get any worse kind of critter issues.
