I assume it's the owner who answers the phone and the times that I've called, she's been pleasant and upbeat even when I was rescheduling the appointment at the last minute. The rep came on time and my tenant said he was thorough and explained what he was doing and where he thought mice were coming into the unit. They were pleased. I called A-rid-a-pest to setup services for our condominium building. The tech was wonderful over the phone. The guy informed us that the inspection for our services would be only $25. The owner is such a great person. He is very nice. I had a mouse problem. He found where the mice were coming in to the house and sealed it. He put down poison and killed them. I didn't see any dead mice and now they are gone. He also is going to come back to make sure that they are all gone for free. read more

We had 3 visits last year starting in November and fast forward to now (1/30/22) and our mice problem is still unresolved. We have followed the instructions advised by the exterminator and so far no success. My 18 month-old found a mouse dropping today (1/30/22) on our sofa and almost ate it. Our issue initially appeared to be resolved for the first 2 weeks, but from using the poison provided by the exterminator as well as sticky pads, using bleach to avoid them from leaving droppings on our counters/stovetop - nothing has changed as far as them pivoting to new areas of the house. read more

Thought my house was mouse proof, and "lo and behold" what did I see early one morning as I was departing for vacation. Upon my return, I called A-Rid-A-Pest. Lisa was patient in listening to my "tale of woe" and was able to get me on the schedule the same day...Yah, Lisa. Nobody wants to have to call an exterminator for rats, certainly not twice in one year. We called A-Rid-A-Pest last year because of a rat invasion, and Eck and his son Artie came to set traps, search for the source, and seal the possible entry points, which led to two dead rats and the end of the problem. What they couldn't do was prevent us from stupidly leaving our terrace door unlocked a few months ago. The door came open overnight and another rat came in. This time it took several visits to locate some additional entry points, but these were also taken care of. Eck and Artie are not only very nice people, but they were extremely responsive and were genuinely concerned about making sure that our issues were addressed. They also are highly analytical, using their knowledge of rat behavior to determine how the rodents came in and where they might have been hiding. We hope we never need an exterminator again, but if we do we will call A-Rid-A-Pest. read more

A-Rid-A-Pest is amazing! We have had a bird, flies as a result, random rodent (old house, old house issues), and they have been responsive, friendly and flexible each and every time. Not to mention the chemicals they use are effective and last long, so no need for the crazy contracts with crappy service as we have had with other pest controls in the city. They seemed ok when I setup the appointment but then totally dropped the ball. When we scheduled the appointment, I gave specific instructions that I would not be on site to meet the tech, and that the porch that had the termite issue was outside and no access to the building was necessary. I also explained that my contractor was there all week doing repairs to the apartment (this is a rental building of mine), so if the tech needed to get inside for some reason then he could just knock on the door. Well, the tech arrives and waits. His office then emails me and the tech texts me, no one has the courtesy to call me. I reply to the email within minutes that the contractor is there and to just proceed. The tech leaves. By the time I get off my conference call and am able to get them live, he's on the highway driving back. It was really frustrating given how urgent the matter is and that I explained upfront that I wouldn't be there...which they were fine with. I then email back and text the tech after speaking with my tenants to see when they can return back and they don't even have the courtesy to respond. Maddening. Very professionally, Lisa reached out to me to not only correct the error, but compensate me for the mistake. As a local real estate agent, I like using local businesses as much as I can. I have used A-Rid-A-Pest many times for termite inspections for property closings. Just recently, called for an appointment a few days before a closing; thinking the inspection would be a slam dunk, because the house had a complete rehab. Not! Eckertson found termite tunnels and a destroyed wood beam in the basement. He texted pictures right away, because he knew about the deadline. Needless to say, the seller, the developer and I were in a tailspin, but A-Rid-A-Pest jumped right in and saved the "closing" day. Eckertson answered promptly my call for a wasp nest on my deck (other companies called back days later). We had a communication snafu due to a cell phone problem, but he was very patient and scheduled an early morning visit to catch the wasps before they are really awake (I am a morning person and that worked just fine for me). Not having seen the size of the nest, he could not give me a quote before coming to see my porch. He ended up charging me very little because the nest was small.
