Amazing!!! Super helpful, great prices, accomodating... the full meal deal. would HIGHLY recommend d renting bikes for the island/s and would 10 out of 10 recommend renting from here! Dan and his crew are great! So, unless you're an avid cyclcist... get the E bikes! You'll still be exhausted but not dead and can experience the entire island!

Really love this place! Dan has always taken great care of me on my rentals when I am on the island. Great personable guy who cares. Love riding the more remote places on the island and staying off the main roads. Especially like Enchanted forest road. I even have a Wildlife Cycles license tag on my truck back here in Atlanta. Thanks!

I'd never tried an ebike before, so I thought this would be a good opportunity. It was great! I reserved online and the day of, walked over there from my rental (5 mins away) and they were ready for me within 5 minutes of my arrival. Vicki gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it, a map and off I went for 2 hours to tool around the east side of the island. I went about 13 miles and it was glorious. Definitely ample hills to test the highest mode -- turbo -- but it was thrilling to go downhill, too. I had a great time with Wildlife and this ebike. The owners are also so friendly and helpful. I will definitely rent from them again when I'm staying on the island/in Eastsound!

Dan helped outfit us with some solid bikes for riding in Moran State Park. Thanks for helping make our vacation so much fun.

The bikes were fine and the people who worked at the store were nice, but don't rent from them if you're in a hurry.

Hey Dan.....my wife and I will be on Orcas Island October 23-29 and we'd like to rent a couple of "e-bikes" if we could. I tried going to your website, but it's a broken link. want me to just call you?

Hi Mark, sorry that you were having issues with the site. Please email Vicki at vleimback@gmail.com and she can set up reservation for you!

My wife and I will be visiting Orcas Island from Sep 26 through Oct 3. We are interested in renting bikes while we are there. We are in our early 70's and have hybrid bikes where we live. What options do you have for us? My wife is 5' 4"; I am 6' 2"

Hi Michael, We do rent Trek hybrids. Since Orcas is quite hilly, we also rent electric bikes, which make climbing the switchbacks on the Mt. Constitution (elevation 2409')… Read more

We were staying on Orcas Island for four days and decided to rent bikes on Lopez Island for a one…read moreday adventure. Reached out to Kenny at Village Cycles and he managed everything with one phone call. We were able to reserve the bicycles from Orcas Island with our credit card and for a small extra fee he had them waiting for us near the ferry terminal when we arrived on Lopez Island. Luckily we thought to ask him for paniers on each of our bikes which was great to have to take our rain gear (which luckily we did not need) and a few other essentials with us. We heard that Lopez Island was a relatively flat island and compared to San Juan Island and Orcas Island it is relatively flat. But please be advised there are lots of rolling hills and it's nowhere near flat. We were both very grateful that we rented e-bikes and we managed to do 45 miles on our adventure on Lopez Island. There's not much of a shoulder while riding your bicycle but the roads are good and there's very little vehicular traffic so we felt safe at all times. Also good to note is that there's not much else outside of Lopez Village as far as getting lunch or snacks other than the Southend Market (located obviously near the southern part of the island). This is where we encountered a very wonderful employee (named Tricia) who actually had her son Cameron ride over to the market from their home with his bicycle pump to air up one of our tires as we were low on air and there's no place around to get air! Now that's friendly island vibes for you! After our ride we stopped in at the Lopez Islander Resort's Tiki Lounge just outside of Lopez Village and had some refreshing drinks and appetizers before catching the ferry back to Orcas Island. This was a great stop and I would also highly recommend this business. We had an incredible day on Lopez Island and would certainly recommend Kenny and Village Cycles for future rentals!

Kenny, "The owner" response to Maggie G's review is false. She went in and saw a bike for sale…read morethat she was potentially interested in purchasing and sat on it only to get talked down to and yelled at. Nothing was broken, no bike was rolled away with, Kenny just needs to take a class or read a book or two on customer service. Shortly before she came in I was in the store looking to rent a bike. I came in with the intention of renting at 2:30 on a Tuesday and returning 10:00 am on Thursday around 44 hours. So I asked if he could give me a potential discount and he basically laughed in my face and said no, we only do calendar day rentals. So $72 a day, which is ridiculous because the other local bike store rentals for $45 a day for a similar bike. For 3 days, there is a 3 day discount of $24 off equalling $192, still ridiculous for 44 hours. They did have ten or so identical bikes outside so Kenny must be a trust fund baby or something just leaving business out there. Neither of us got a welcoming experience or any type of feeling of hospitality or simply want to have us in the store. I recommend Lopez kayaks and bicycle works just down the road, completely different experience. The only reason we didn't is they weren't open for the season yet. Id rather walk the island than rent from Village Cycles.

Let me tell you a story about how Seth saved me from a dumb dad move and thereby saved my weekend -…read more Busy weekend out on the island with the fam, lots of hustle and bustle - in the midst of a couple days where it feels like nothing is going quite right on the family front. Looking to turn things around, I decide to install the kid seat on the back of my wife's bike for our 2 y.o. so we can do the ol' family bike ride (that'll fix it!). In a moment of overzealousness though, I give that over-tight, cheap screw in the back of her bike a turn-too-many with the allen wrench: it's stripped, but maybe salvageable. But what do I do? I think, "I can still get it...." So I jump back in there: cheap screw vs. cheap allen wrench, and I send that screw straight to The Land of No Return. It's never coming out now. Enter Seth and Meat Machine. Now, mind you, I had already been down there the day before - or my wife had - for another bike-related issue (I told you - it was that kind of weekend). So, I limp in there, figuratively speaking, and in my shame I present El Strippo to Seth. What does he do? He doesn't make my feel bad. He doesn't hesitate. Immediately, almost un-questioningly, he throws that bad boy up on the lift. He explains that this is not going to be easy and expresses concern that he'll break the head off the screw and then it's done (the seat is never going on in that case). He tries one expensive hex after another. No dice. Last resort: he busts out the blow torch. "Let's put a little heat on it." And he does, and, like magic, that baby starts to move! With the turning of the screw, hearts lift, hope returns - the screw it out. The day - the family bike ride - is saved. No charge. I headed outside and, literally, the clouds cleared (though I'm not sure I credit Seth with that one). But he and Meat Machine did save the day, no doubt. Great little shop. Friendly helpful guys. Very grateful to them! Thank you!!

Absolutely the Best Way to Explore Port Angeles - Discovery E-Bikes is a Must!…read more My wife and I spent an unforgettable mid-day riding e-bikes from Discovery E-Bikes, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Port Angeles. We did a four-hour "river to river" ride--heading east, then west, making scenic stops along the way before heading back into town. The route was stunning and peaceful, and the e-bikes made the whole experience effortless and fun. The bikes themselves were top-quality--smooth, comfortable, and clearly very well maintained. But what really made the experience exceptional was the customer service. Brandon, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He shared the personal story behind his business, which made a big impression on us. His passion, care, and attention to detail truly stood out, and it inspired us to want to return in the future just to support his amazing local shop. If you're in Port Angeles and looking for a fun, meaningful way to see the area, Discovery E-Bikes is it. We can't recommend this place enough--thank you, Brandon!
