I had such a lovely day riding along the Olympic Discovery Trail. The owner was super helpful. He let me test out a couple bikes before choosing, then gave me specific directions for a route he suggested that ended up being perfect! Highly, highly recommend. It's an affordable option ($50 for two hours) and a great way to get around Port Angeles and not worry about riding up hills.

10/10 would recommend. What a great time! Brandon is super friendly, fun, professional, and safety-conscious. He was a total champ helping my elderly parents get started with their bikes and was really helpful with advice on how to keep them safe and which routes would be fun and doable. Olympic Discovery Trail is beautiful and there are portions that are really steep even for experienced cyclists, so e-biking this route is great! So great that this rental service is available at this exact location. Bikes are well-maintained and there's a decent variety depending on whether you prefer a more conventional cycling experience w some power assist or a really powerful e-bike. And you can choose how much of a workout you want. Would totally do this again without my parents so I can do more challenging routes, heh. And will definitely recommend to friends! Brandon also gave great local recs for other activities and places to eat!

Great bike shop to work with! Just purchased a new Aventon Ramblas from Brandon. Was able to test ride another bike prior to the Ramblas and made my decision. Great value as I placed my order during the recent Memorial Day sale! Brandon ordered my bike and had it in and professionally assembled in just over a week. Super happy with the bike and the great service! Photo from my first ride on the Olympic Discovery trail.

Yesterday was a wonderful day visiting Port Angeles and exploring the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) on e-bikes. We found Discover E-Bike on line and made a reservation for a 3 hour ride. While we've rented before, the warm greeting and professional manner of Brandon who owns Discover E-Bike was exceptional. He uses bikes from the Electric Bike Company which we found to be easy to use and quite comfortable. Brandon volunteered to get us launched and rode with us for a bit as we started our journey. The ride was incredibly beautiful and well marked. The suspension bridge over the Elwha River was amazing as was the last part of our ride out over the Ediz Hook. An amazing scenery explosion of the Straight of Juan de Fula and looking back across to Port Angeles. Our thanks to Brandon for getting us safely launched and for sharing his love of the town he grew up in. We will be returning!

Originally booked the 130pm half day sea kayaking tour online. Received a call the next day saying…read morethe 130pm tour was already full for the next few days (not sure why it let me book online then). But luckily I was able to be flexible and switch to the morning tour (they gave me a day's notice). The staff on the phone said it would be much less windy anyway...which definitely turned out to be true and I was so glad for it bc it would've been chilly otherwise! They're doing great on the Covid safety measures as much as possible. Instead of parking at the office and riding a bus to the bay, they just have you either follow the guide in his vehicle with the kayaks or give you an address/coordinates for your gps. It was easy to keep up with our guide. Everyone wore masks until we got into our own individual kayaks. Very easy to practice social distancing in this setting! The office was very easy to find, right off the highway and even has a winery right next door (and was highly recommended by the host at my inn). Plenty of parking everywhere we went. After a brief safety talk and bit of equipment orientation, we launched from a rocky beach in Freshwater Bay and went out into the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. It was absolutely gorgeous weather - sunny and calm and a perfect temperature. The water was insanely clear! We saw jellyfish and kelp crabs and all manner of birds! We even sampled a little bit of the kelp haha! Our guide, Chris, was so knowledgeable and he made the tour interesting and really fun! There's even a little cave you can swoop through if you have one of the smaller kayaks! I highly recommend you bring sturdy water shoes and waterproof camera!

We were staying on Orcas Island for four days and decided to rent bikes on Lopez Island for a one…read moreday adventure. Reached out to Kenny at Village Cycles and he managed everything with one phone call. We were able to reserve the bicycles from Orcas Island with our credit card and for a small extra fee he had them waiting for us near the ferry terminal when we arrived on Lopez Island. Luckily we thought to ask him for paniers on each of our bikes which was great to have to take our rain gear (which luckily we did not need) and a few other essentials with us. We heard that Lopez Island was a relatively flat island and compared to San Juan Island and Orcas Island it is relatively flat. But please be advised there are lots of rolling hills and it's nowhere near flat. We were both very grateful that we rented e-bikes and we managed to do 45 miles on our adventure on Lopez Island. There's not much of a shoulder while riding your bicycle but the roads are good and there's very little vehicular traffic so we felt safe at all times. Also good to note is that there's not much else outside of Lopez Village as far as getting lunch or snacks other than the Southend Market (located obviously near the southern part of the island). This is where we encountered a very wonderful employee (named Tricia) who actually had her son Cameron ride over to the market from their home with his bicycle pump to air up one of our tires as we were low on air and there's no place around to get air! Now that's friendly island vibes for you! After our ride we stopped in at the Lopez Islander Resort's Tiki Lounge just outside of Lopez Village and had some refreshing drinks and appetizers before catching the ferry back to Orcas Island. This was a great stop and I would also highly recommend this business. We had an incredible day on Lopez Island and would certainly recommend Kenny and Village Cycles for future rentals!

Kenny, "The owner" response to Maggie G's review is false. She went in and saw a bike for sale…read morethat she was potentially interested in purchasing and sat on it only to get talked down to and yelled at. Nothing was broken, no bike was rolled away with, Kenny just needs to take a class or read a book or two on customer service. Shortly before she came in I was in the store looking to rent a bike. I came in with the intention of renting at 2:30 on a Tuesday and returning 10:00 am on Thursday around 44 hours. So I asked if he could give me a potential discount and he basically laughed in my face and said no, we only do calendar day rentals. So $72 a day, which is ridiculous because the other local bike store rentals for $45 a day for a similar bike. For 3 days, there is a 3 day discount of $24 off equalling $192, still ridiculous for 44 hours. They did have ten or so identical bikes outside so Kenny must be a trust fund baby or something just leaving business out there. Neither of us got a welcoming experience or any type of feeling of hospitality or simply want to have us in the store. I recommend Lopez kayaks and bicycle works just down the road, completely different experience. The only reason we didn't is they weren't open for the season yet. Id rather walk the island than rent from Village Cycles.
