I had been there several times in the past and eventually stopped going because the service was never great and the prices were simply too high for what you get. After avoiding it for years, I decided to give it another chance and took my 82-year-old friend there for brunch. And lo and behold, nothing has changed. The food was fine, but nothing memorable and certainly not worth the prices, in my opinion. There was nothing about our brunch that would make me want to come back for the food itself. The service was completely inattentive. We waited quite a while just to place our order and even longer to get our food -- and it wasn't even a busy day. Then there is the main door. We were sitting inside, and that door SLAMS every single time someone walks through it. It was jarring and unpleasant, over and over again, and the staff seemed completely oblivious to it. Such an easy fix! Add the same slow-close mechanism you already have on the door to the outside patio. Or at least put a note on the door and ask the staff to close it gently. And finally, when it was time to pay, the server stood right there looking over my shoulder while I used the portable terminal. It's uncomfortable and makes you feel pressured to leave a 20% tip -- especially awkward when the service you just received was not deserving of 20%. I really want to love this place because the setting is magical. But every time I give it another chance, I leave feeling the same way. It just falls short.

Such potential, total let down. I want to give this place 3 stars (that's as high as I would even venture) but since both our appetizers and entrees came out cold I'm going to go with 2 stars. My wife and I travel extensively, and I only say that because we eat out in on average, 20 - 30 different cities a year so we have a lot to compare to. Pro's about this place, the décor. The place looked great, we even commented on the stone they used at the bar, fresh flowers in the place, definitely nice. The food tasted great, we had the calamari and smoked salmon to start with, and both finished up with the beef raviolis. The food tasted great, but the service absolutely sucked, and that's putting it nicely. Our server was more interested in closing up (rolling silver ware, putting the flowers in the fridge, etc.) then waiting on us. The only food he ran all night was our desert, all other entrees were not brought out by him. Not once did he ask how the food was. We got there at 9, they closed at 10, so it's not like we arrived right before closing....but I waited tables in college and even IF we had arrived 15 minutes before closing that shouldn't affect service. The crazy thing, the manager was there the entire time watching the fact we were just starring and looking around for anyone to come wait on us, just to order desert. And they never cleared our plates after we were done eating. They took our appetizer plates away when they brought dinner (which was a while after we were done with them) and then our dinner plates were kept on the table until the waiter FINALLY came to offer desert. My wife ordered a second glass of wine and the first glass sat on the table the entire time. "Patrick" was not a good waiter. We spent $120 last night on a last minute dinner, we received 10 times better service at Blanco's the night before. I don't know who owns this place, but some constructive criticism from someone who spent years in the industry, your food can be great (which it was even though, again, it was cold by the time we got it) but if the service sucks people will move on. I love Tucson, but in Houston (which is a hidden gem for great restaurants) this place would last about a year. One last thing, I almost forgot, I ordered an Manhattan and they served it on the rocks and it was pretty much all bourbon........seriously.... And a disclaimer, I'm not some stuffy "foodie" person who thinks I sound cool talking about all the restaurants I eat at, I just think it's important people and establishments get legitimate constructive feedback on their restaurant. If you're in Tucson, there are a ton of other restaurants that are better than this. read more

I have lived in Tucson for 5 years and my husband and I dine out at least 3 times a week, sometimes 4 depending on our schedule. I thought it might be nice to share our experiences with others on this site. Our first review would be on one of my very favorite places to eat, which is Wildflower. We love this restaurant for its food, service and ambiance. The food is amazing, the service outstanding and the restaurant itself is just beautiful. Some of our friends have said it can get loud, but we love the atmosphere. So open, light and airy and elegant yet casual. The management is so good and will go above and beyond to make your dining experience the best. They have an excellent bar and on a nice evening we love to sit outside and enjoy our favorite bottle of wine and the view. We never feel rushed by our servers. We dined there about a week ago and had the pleasurable surprise of the chef coming to our table to ask how everything was. I was so impressed. Ben, the general manager, is tops in his field and shows a great concern for the restaurant's reputation, and all the customers as well as his staff. I cannot think of one thing on the menu that I do not enjoy, but would love to give you our recommendations. For starters, we are a fan of the Duo of Bruschetta. For entree, my favorite is the Parmesan Noodles and my husband's is the Seared Ahi Tuna. All the sides are delicious but our favorites are the Sautéed Spinach and the Parmesan Fries. To finish off your meal with the Pot de Creme is simply divine. Points to work on would be: The hostess's could dress a bit more refined and elegant. The portion size of the food could be a bit larger for the prices charged. Water should never be automatically served, but upon request. We live in a drought state and water should always be conserved. And a comment card could be included to give kudos or suggestions. Other than that, I love everything about this restaurant and happily give it 5 stars. I hope this review is helpful and that you look forward to another review of one of our favorite restaurants. read more

Wildflower is easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in Tucson--everything from the service to the food and ambiance was amazing. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot is a must. Let's talk about the food: I ordered the salmon, and it was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. It was served with a flavorful mix of veggies and a sauce that tied everything together beautifully. Fresh, light, and satisfying without being heavy. The real standout, though? The short rib ravioli. Rich, comforting, and full of depth. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sauce was bold but balanced. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause between bites just to savor it. The ambiance is modern and classy without being too formal. Great lighting, stylish décor, and a lovely patio if you prefer to dine outside. And the service was exceptional--attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. Wildflower nails it on every level. If you're debating what to order, go for the salmon or the short rib ravioli--you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back! read more

Myself, my husband, and 12 other people, ended up at the Wildflower tonight because we had such a horible experience at North's. I made reservations for 7:30 P.M. at North's, for 14 ,and called to comfirm the reservations. Long story short--we never got seated or served. We sat outside snd had drinks for over a hour snd we were told that the seating was not available. We were served some complimentary appetizers but finally paid our drink bill and left for the Wildflower which had been called and had a table prepared for our group. The best waiter in all of Tucson, Aaron, not only took care of all of our party but also saw that our drinks were complimentary. What started out to be a horrible experience ended up to be a most pleasant evening. Thanks to the staff at the Wildflower. However, not one of us would ever darken the doors of North again. North was noisy, unorganized and totally unpleasant as far as service and mangement was concerned. Yuck!! Horray for Aaron and horray for The Wildflower!! Wildflower tries too hard to be trendy. I've never had a good meal there. The waitstaff, again, are rude and don't know their stuff. And I'm a very nice guest to have. Me and my girl are very patient and polite. Back in my college days I knew what it was like to have to work my way through school dealing with rude customers. Now that I am grown up and have the money to go out and be a customer, now I have to put up with rude waitresses! I mean really if we ask a question about a menu item or wine selection, we are not trying to be smart asses. Wildflower waitresses, I'm talking to yous here, if you don't know, dont pretend to know or treat us like we are jerks for asking a simple question. Food is not what its cracked up to be. They do have a good selection for cocktails, martinis and Napa wines. That's about what they are good for: a martini and wine bar. I would recommend this place for the food, for sure. The service seems a little scattered and the smell of perfumes and colognes were really excessive by more than one person of the staff. They are friendly and attentive and great people. The food, though not really remarkable or memorable, was good and executed well enough. The patio was great and we got in just before the summer heat; I'd recommend sitting outside in the fresh air. I want to clarify, I don't generally have an issue with colognes or perfumes, but in food service the staff shouldn't overpower the aromas of the food. It really got to be a bit much through the meal. Will we be back.... likely. read more

We had dinner at Wildflower today, and the food was excellent as always. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, and the patio seating really needs attention. The chair cushions were extremely dirty, and even the floor wasn't clean, which made the experience uncomfortable. For a bill of around $150 for two people, we expected better service and a cleaner environment. If the current cushions can't be cleaned, it might be better to replace them with a material like leather that can be wiped down easily. Wildflower is consistently good BUT making a reservation and having your request honored is bizarre. Apparently outside table "requests" are honored in the order they are made. We made a reservation a week in advance and when we arrived, in spite of there being multiple tables open, we were told there wasn't a table available. They need to figure a way to notify guests that their requested tables aren't available so, that in advance, a decision about dining there can be made. read more

We had a primary server who was excellent but several staff will circulate to check on drinks, food. We each ordered something different, allowing us to turn a 3 course sampling into six! The sheeted carrot "lasagne" was probably our least favorite, though by no means bad. And that is partly because the other appetizer (grilled swordfish chilaquiles) was sooo good. For entrees we got the Brined and roasted pork chop, and the Petrale sole. The pork chop was a solid, 1+ inch thick and surprisingly juicy (brining!). The sole was tender, delicate, and delicious with its gribiche sauce. Each came with excellent "breads" - super airy biscuits with the Sole and amazing pear and taleggio cheese fritters with the pork. We split a pair of desserts as well: Verrine: parfait of pistachio mousse - incredibly inventive and (nicely) barely sweet. And the Frangipane fruit tart - think of a light marzipan tart. Needless to say we loved both desserts for their unconventional riff on a standard. A definite winner from among the 125 options this year! Reservations are advised. Just off downtown Tucson, the building looks simple from the outside, but inside you step into a moody, low‑lit warehouse transformed into an upscale dining room and bar. It's the perfect blend of fine dining and Tucson's laid‑back charm. I love their focus on sustainability, fermentation, and an ever‑changing menu built around local ingredients -- about 90% of their produce comes from nearby farms. The menu shifts constantly based on what's available, but the chef always creates something unforgettable. We ordered the malawach -- a warm, flaky bread served with labne, black chili jam, and cured egg yolk. It was such a fun, flavorful twist. The roasted squash was incredible, perfectly cooked with those Sonoran desert‑smoky notes I love. The Vera Earl Ranch steak was tender and beautifully seasoned, paired with veggies that tasted just as intentional as the main dish. And for dessert, we had the olive oil cake with whipped cream and marmalade -- simple, bright, and honestly perfect. The music stays fun, the staff is down‑to‑earth and welcoming, and the whole experience feels like the best parts of fine dining mixed with the comfort of eating at a friend's home. We came for our anniversary, and every dish was explained thoughtfully and served at the perfect pace. They even surprised us with a sweet anniversary note and that incredible olive oil cake. I'm sad this exact menu probably won't be there when I return -- but I'm completely confident whatever they create next will be just as good, if not better.

There were four of us and we got two appetizers, which was more food that we needed! The serving sizes are very generous. We had nachos and an order of cauliflower. Absolutely the best cauliflower I've ever had. I'll be sure to get that each and every time I return. Great musician, Korie inspector, playing in the courtyard. The only downside was we had to ask her plates, we had to ask for silverware, we had to ask for napkins, we had to ask for water refills. Maybe they were just a little understaffed for a Tuesday night, but it will not deter me from coming back. In fact, I highly recommend it. Perfect for a summer night. And I can't quite leave this review without saying the ambience of the setting was just perfect. Lots of shade trees areas for families to play, there were cornhole games going on, there was another sitting area with a waterfall, I could see when I was leaving out there is a dedicated play area for children. This is a great place for a big party it's a massive ranch and they have utilized all of it in great ways.

Overall decor was nice, tall ceiling and lots of space. Menu is pretty well sized, as there's options for a little bit of something for everybody. I'm sure we've all been to places similar to this. The Monica is a bit nicer than some of those other ones I've been to. The way ordering is done here is at the counter after you walk in through the main door, just go straight to the counter to order. Staff here were nice, no issues there. We got a couple of things to eat today. I myself got the beef steak sandwich, which came with fries, and an au jus like sauce. It was good. Decently sized portions for the sandwich and also the fries. Not really sure what the faux au jus sauce was, but it was just okay. But the NY steak strips were tender, and good. Definitely a philly cheesesteak ish type feel to this sandwich. Final verdict; The Monica is a jack of all trades kind of a restaurant which I'm sure we've all had in our own areas. The Monica is probably a bit nicer than the ones I have had around me, but I wouldn't exactly call it fancy. Certainly a nice spot to relax, drink, and just be simple dine and perhaps a drink. I would come back if I'm ever back in the area.

From the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly left, we never felt like guests. We felt genuinely welcomed. Every interaction reminded us that hospitality isn't just something your staff does. It's who they are. Our dinner at the Grill with Nick was one of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had. His professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were extraordinary. He seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even knew we needed it, and his recommendations, along with the pairings from the house sommelier, elevated an already incredible meal into an unforgettable evening. The food was exceptional, but sharing it while watching the sun disappear over the horizon made it feel almost magical. It's one of those evenings we'll talk about for years. The next morning, Cal made brunch every bit as memorable. So many resorts save their best effort for dinner and let breakfast become an afterthought. Not here. The quality of the menu, the freshness of the ingredients, and the level of service were every bit as impressive. It was another reminder that excellence isn't reserved for special occasions at your resort. It's simply your standard. Preston continued that experience the following day, and Steve, our host, welcomed us with the kind of kindness that instantly makes you feel at home. Steve is one of those people who genuinely love what they do because they're that good, and they make you feel welcome. There's something special about walking into a room and feeling like people are genuinely happy you're there. That's exactly how your team made us feel. One of our favorite memories came from spending time at the Terraza Garden Lounge with Ethan. By the second visit, he already remembered our favorite drinks and greeted us like old friends. Those small moments may seem insignificant, but they're the moments people remember long after the vacation ends. They create connections that no beautiful building or incredible view ever could. Yes, your resort is stunning. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are immaculate, and every corner feels like a postcard. But if someone asked us what truly sets this place apart, our answer wouldn't be the scenery. It's your people. They create an experience that can't be manufactured or copied. They make visitors feel valued, cared for, and genuinely welcome. That's a rare gift, and it's what will bring us back year after year. I'll admit there was a small part of me that almost didn't want to write this review because I selfishly wanted to keep this little slice of heaven our own secret. But the people who made our stay so special deserve recognition. Thank you for creating memories we'll carry with us long after this trip ends. We'll be back.
