Place is overrated. Other spots in town that are just as good and 1/3 less cost. Not bad at all, just overpriced for what you get.

I came in here because I was close by. I should have listen to the reviews. Service not great ( I was in bar). Ordered pork belly and every piece was burned on the bottom. The manager came out and tried to tell me that all the pork belly he had seen looked good. I told him I was a caterer and have cooked pork belly before. So then came the main course- rack of lamb. The lamb was flavorless and tasted like it had been flamed grilled to give it color. They took off the pork belly from my bill but I guess it would have been nice to comp my 3.50 wine. Bar is great for beer/ wine but don't order food!!! read more

This place is so un organized, horrible Old decore and waiters that are sweating through their shirts! It's kind of disgusting...They have a problem seating people. They Sat us then moved us after it was our table to begin with then they sat three women and said it was their table... AND SAID out loud you all have the BEST seats in the HOUSE It's sad to know places like this double seat tables. No customer service skills at all. Everyone Be Aware of this Horrible Place. This was my second visit to Wildfire and it was every bit as good as I remembered. Easily the best menu on the square!!!

I'll start by mentioning how wonderful the service is. Each time we have been to Wildfire our servers have been great. The location is perfect and we get to have a little walk around afterwards. I visit Georgetown every week to see a family member and we usually go out to eat. I've been to the restaurant enough times already to know the quality of the food wasn't a one time mistake. During my last visit I adventured myself by ordering sea food here. Since I had the steaks before and i wasn't crazy about them, I decided to go for other things on the menu. Oak grilled jumbo shrimp scallop Alfredo. EVERYTHING on this dish was overcooked. The fish was awful and I don't think I can have scallops again, or at least in a long time. I'm not exaggerating!!! The other people on my table didn't feel satisfied about their meals either. The chicken fried steak was dry, the cajun ahi tuna was just mediocre and the no brainer chicken enchiladas were surprisingly bad. Our food and drinks were really good. Like really good. However, there are two things hubby and I simply cannot get over. Number one, the carpeting when you enter the saloon is absolutely disgusting. Made us question the overall cleanliness and put off a strong foul odor. Second, our service was awful. It seemed as though our waitress was wrapped up in counting the cash drawer and other tasks and not so much on our table. She was in a rush to leave our table each time she came by that it was a challenge to even order our nachos (yes, first world problem). The Wildfire Wildflower cocktail was amazing, as was the mushroom and polenta appetizer. The elk tenderloin was cooked perfectly and the rolls were delicious. The only disappointment was dessert. We tried the blueberry cheesecake bread pudding. While this sounds nothing short of heaven, it lacked flavor composition and had a strange texture. Having never been here before, my friend and I decided to give it a try for a lunch date. Overall, the service was good. The staff members were very knowledgeable about the menu and were able to provide helpful recommendations for us to try. We both wanted sweet tea but were told they did not offer it, so we had fruit infused teas instead (I had strawberry tea, and my friend had peach tea mixed with lemonade). We tried the tri-colored chips and spinach-artichoke dip. It was decent, but once we took a bite the dip tasted cold. We shared a "Cinco de Mayo" special with a ribeye steak, Spanish rice, and black refried beans. I personally preferred the rice over the beans - they had more flavor to me and it mixed really well with the flavor of the ribeye. Showed up on a Friday night and when I called ahead the lady told me there were no reservations left. We figured we would pop in since we were in Georgetown and check it out and just sit at the bar. Wow! to our surprise we found 3 completely wasted guys at the bar talking as loud as possible that appeared to have just come off the golf course with about 12 beers in each one. My wife and I were trying to catch up at the bar but was so loud that we could not relax. Ordered some meals but when they arrived, very fru-fru and not very delicous. Pushed the meals aside and decided to head back to Austin for dinner after paying $130 for two plates and a couple beers. Tried the patty melt and the burger itself was bland. The pickles where super thick and the onion rings were thick onions with soft wet breading. On Top of that the rolls were the worst rolls I've ever had at a restaurant. They were dry and the butter couldn't help them. Overall just go to Texas road house. read more

I always liked this restaurant for steak and prime rib until today. The prime rib was over cooked from what I ordered and the 'loaded' baked potato was not 'loaded' but dry with cheddar cheese on top. When we spoke to the manager, she listened but clearly not with a service attitude. So disappointed. I will have to find a new steak place. read more

4 of us had dinner here on a Saturday night. The place was full, so they do a good business. Neither the food nor service justified the crowd. If you are a martini drinker, be sure to order a double. The regular one is served in the usual type of glass but only 1/3 full. My husband looked at it and offered to pay more for the rest of the drink. Our server immediately became defensive and brought back another partially filled glass. A manager came by and asked if the drink was to my husband's liking. He explained that the quality wasn't the issue just that it was skimpy. Finally, the manager brought a filled glass, announced "double martini, sir" and walked away. For the food: servings were large, Texas style but of poor quality. 2 of us ordered catfish. Our server said it was very fresh with light breading. The catfish tasted musty and the breading was very thick. After all the hassles with the drink, we didn't bother saying anything. Other dishes at the table were elk and salmon. Great atmosphere and service!! We showed up around 6 on a Friday night and were unable to get a table in the restaurant, but we found a table in the bar which is open seating. The staff was very friendly and helped us navigate the rather long menu (the bar offers both a bar menu and the full kitchen menu), helped us find the perfect cocktails and were able to answer any questions we had about the items. All of our drinks were delicious, they also had a wide variety of Texas beers on tap, and the food was great! We will definitely eat here again when we come back to Georgetown, just may make a reservation next time! read more

A pricier place for lunch, we felt a bit out of place in shorts and t-shirts (we were on Spring Break). The burger my husband and I shared was good, but not worth the amount of money we paid for it. I was definitely disappointed with the firecracker onion rings. I'm giving 3 stars because my niece really enjoyed the chicken fried steak, and my mom was incredibly pleased with the chicken cobb salad. Walking into Wildfire, the first thing one might notice is the large, well-stocked bar, walls completely covered with bright and interesting framed pieces of art. Beyond the bar, the dining areas are comfortable and tastefully designed. Service was professional and prompt, and the food was great. My grilled duck and spinach salad was one of the best salads I have had - the duck was amazing and the homemade bacon dressing was tasty enough to eat by the spoonful. OMG it's better than words can describe! I started with some wonderful shrimp chowder and hubby had southwestern Cesar salad. For my entree I had the Ostrich and my husband had the elk. They were both cooked perfect. They didn't cover the uniqueness of the meat. This place does game meat right. And the dessert was heavenly. Hubby had blueberry cheesecake bread pudding and I had 3alarm black out cake. It was like flourless chocolate cake, the fluffiest real chocolate mousse ( not cool whip mixed with pudding) and chocolate turtle cheesecake wrapped up together. We went for Christmas Eve dinner. Service and food were excellent, so we came back for New Year's Eve. Amazing food. My rack of lamb was perfect. The spinach and Gorgonzola mashed potatoes were scrumptious. Then there was the surprise delight of onion rings crusted with tortilla chips- regular beer battered onion rings pale in comparison. The Hubs had the Porterhouse one night, the Ribeye the next time. Both were cooked to perfection and the wedge fries were crispy on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside. Dessert? The 3 alarm cake & bananas wildfire are worth every calorie. Then...we got our main meal (steaks and corn). OMG! I felt like we were at Dennys or something less. The steak was bland and corn from a can (but worse). First of all, everyone who works here was pleasant and very friendly. And the pre-meal scone was really good. Hence, the two stars. I ordered the Duck Breast Salad for brunch. The salad consisted of spinach and soggy grated carrot. There were four pieces of duck breast that had the texture of an overcooked McRib patty and a bacon vinaigrette that tasted ok, but had the consistency of jarred horseradish. Mediocre at best. Ordered an appetizer that was suppose be maple glazed crackling pork belly and there was no maple nor nothing crispy about it!!! My husband had macadamia nut crusted shrimp and the best thing about it was the green beans on the plate. I had a Jamaican jerk Berkshire pork chop and had no flavor at all. When our server Lorenzo came back to the table he asked if we wanted to go boxes and we told him no!! He said Oh No that was more leftovers he could take home!!! One of my all time favorite places in Georgetown! Year after year, we keep coming back. The food is always amazing, the menu changes enough to keep you interested, and while on the upper price scale for food in Georgetown, the prices are incredibly reasonable considering the quality of the food. Move this building 30 miles south and the prices would double, and I'd probably still eat there. One an interesting note, about 5-6 years ago the fish of the day was Black Marlin. Generally I won't consume billfish, because they should not be a marketable species due to population numbers. They were able to tell me where the fish was caught and under what circumstances. I voiced my concern about having it on the menu, and it's the only reason I took a star off. They haven't had any billfish on the menu since, that I have noticed. There are other exotics on the menu, but they are all farmed.... and well prepared. ;-) read more

Great Food! Georgetown's top restaurant! We have been going to Wildfire for the last 6 months! As far as price goes you cannot beat it! The prime rib on Mondays, the 16 oz New York Strip steak, the calamari, the house salad with blue cheese, the duck, the catfish, and the desserts like the bread pudding are out of this world! We had friends traveling with a small dog, so we searched for per friendly establishments. After seeing that this restaurant indeed welcomes pets as described on the web site, we called to confirm a reservation. We confirmed once again about the pet. Upon arrival we were told that for health reasons the pet was not allowed and that the web site is simply referring to the small tables outside the front door. We asked to speak to the manager and she was simply rude and dismissive. We exited to never return! read more

Took a friend here for her birthday several weeks ago and wish we'd gone to McDonald's. There, you actually get a "Happy Meal". All the employees seemed depressed and distracted. No smiles. No real greeting. Just walked us to a booth and handed us menus without a word. My smallish $10 salad looked more like a dinner salad than a meal salad. The dressing did not taste fresh and no one offered tea refills. On a Saturday, this restaurant should be hoppin'. It was half empty at high noon. Ate here last night and it was as wonderful as usual. All of us enjoyed our dinner and drinks and we were very happy with our wonderful server Katherine. No complaints there. We arrived an hour prior to our reservation, planning to sit with our friends we were meeting and have a drink before dinner. It was a joint birthday/anniversary for us. The bar was very busy and there was no where to sit so we just stood out of the way at the end of the bar waiting for a seat. After about 15 minutes a very frazzled woman with a ponytail (the rest of the bartenders were male) came over and asked if we wanted something to drink. I asked for a martini and she just gave me a nasty look and said they were out of martini glasses and literally walked away. At that point, my husband went to the hostess to let her know we were there and willing to eat earlier than our reservation if possible. Waited about 15 minutes more and the same bar employee came and told us that they had a table available for us if we wanted to sit down while we were waiting. She led us to a table with 3 chairs (there were 4 of us) and again just walked off without even taking our drink order. My husband went and found an extra chair and we sat there for a few minutes until the hostess came and said they could seat us now so we got up and went to dinner. So we spent 45 minutes in the bar without anything to drink which is ridiculous. Employees like the one we interacted with in the bar are just bad for business. We saw her badmouthing us to the other bar staff and hostess. That serves no purpose whatsoever and if she is unable to handle the "stress" of being a bartender she should leave. We originally planed to go to Georgetown Romeo restaurant for an event. I was late from late as usually. So we missed the dinner event there. Matt suggested to take me to the best restaurant in Georgetown firework. The restaurant is divided into two sections, bar area and fine dining area. Bar area is full of red color, pretty modern. Dinning area is a little bit old school. The hostess wears skirt under this cold weather. That was impressive. Guests around all wear office suits and ties. Who will wear ties these days? Matt said it's very close to the courthouse and there are a lot of law firms around. Probably they are lawyers. Our waiter is very nice and kept on asking if he can bring more stuff to us. Their bread is very good, just out of oven. He suggested his favorite seafood pasta. Matt ordered bacon wrapped scallop as appetizer and duck as entree. I ordered the waiter's favorite seafood pasta which has scallop, shrimp, salmon and other fish in it. And I like it very much. Very very creamy. The appetizer scallop is very good too. Especially mixed with bacon. It's very creative. The duck is OK. It's a little bit tough and not juicy enough. Overall it's a very nice restaurant. I thought you can only find BBQ and chicken fried steak in Georgetown. I guess I'm wrong. read more
