2 orders of wings with fries.
    Maria B.

Absolutely delicious! This was our second time here. Our first time the experience was not the best. However, this time around it was great. Their breading really made me sick the first time and the waitress at the time had told me there was no way to get the wings naked (no breading). This time around it was no problem. We also ordered a poutine which was delicious. They have 2 order of wings with fries at a good price. Next time we will make the fries a poutine for the extra charge. It's still cheaper than ordering an entire poutine on the side and it is large enough. At least for me it was. My husband and I shared 2 orders of wings. The teriyaki mustard flavour is amazing.

Cool place with some front window seats, 4 booths and a larger table that fits 10 or so people. Their specialty looks to be a juicy lucy aka patty stuff with cheese the melts when you cook it. I ended up getting a cheeseburger combo. The burgers are good. They're in tough competition with some really good burgers down the street...which are about $10+ more expensive though. Combo your meal for $4 which gives you fries and drink. I enjoy the fries as well. They also have some interesting sides like tornado fries, poutine, sweet potato fries and a few others which I think you can upgrade to. I'll be back to try other things but wanted to put it in your radar if you're in the area.

I didn't even know this was a thing before I stepped into this restaurant. The lovely lady at the front explained that it's essentially a halal way to have bacon, and it is pretty similar. Not quite bacon, but a good alternative. We added it to our burger but I ate it separately to get the full experience. I would go back here! Not sure I would add the bacon, but I would certainly enjoy a burger again.

Machine Combo $21.98. When did a burger combo at a fast food joint cost over $20? This is why I rarely buy anything at regular price, lol.

I said "no I don't want to combo I want a sandwich only". Second staff member ignorantly comes over and tells me to calm down. I was not yelling I told him I told her three times I wanted a sandwich only and she l asked me if I want a combo after that. He said it doesn't matter Like hella doesn't matter. I'm a former Subway and Harvey's manager and I've been working in the service industry almost 40 years. Don't tell me ignoring a customer three times isn't a problem I told him fine maybe I should go somewhere else. He actually said "maybe you should". Really? No apologizing for making me say the same thing three times and ignoring me? As I walked away I said maybe she should learn English. "Sandwich only". It's not hard to understand. If she doesn't understand it, she needs to learn English. I wound up getting lunch at KFC since your staff was rude ignorant and unprofessional. You never tell a customer to go somewhere else when somebody's justifiably complaining about ignorant treatment from the staff member. Making a customer say something three times and ignoring them is ignorant treatment of a customer He should have dealt with me personally. But, he choose to be a rude ignoramus. Somebody needs to sit those two idiots down and make them realize that the people who line up at the cash is where their bloody paycheck comes from. No customers equals no restaurant equals no job. I will never be back. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression. And my first impression, is rude ignorant and unprofessional Visit was at 120pm. Jan 25, 2025

The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch here. We shared a cheeseburger ($9.50), a chicken sandwich ($12.95) and an order of fries ($5). The cheeseburger was a smash burger with cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and their burger sauce. There was too much sauce for my liking and the meat was too salty for my tastes, but other than that the burger was ok. The meat was smashed really thin and the edges were crispy. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich more. The chicken sandwich had a breaded chicken breast, coleslaw, pickles and chicken sauce. We got ours medium spice. It wasn't spicy at all, lol. The chicken was a good thickness and was tender and moist. We enjoyed this more than the cheeseburger. I liked that the bun they use is a plain bun without seeds in it. The buns were soft. The fries were a good portion size. I'm glad we shared one portion. They were hot and crispy and had the skins on. They were regular cut, not skinny, but not too thick. You order at the cash register, pay and they give you your order number. When your food is ready they call out your number and bring it to your table if you're dining in. When you're done, you throw out your own garbage and stack the empty tray on top of the garbage area. Service was pleasant and the food didn't take long. There are seats inside to dine in and also seats on the patio out front. There's a single universal washroom that is wheelchair accessible for the entire restaurant. Since the restaurant is small, I feel this was sufficient. It was clean. Street parking or paid parkade parking only. Review #187 (2025)

The Long Version: The Alembic Stillhouse is the restaurant/pub attached to the Cartier Suites Hotel. It has the usual pub fare like fish and chips, burgers, chicken fingers, etc. but it also has some Latin American dishes like arepas, tequenos, tostones and churros. My husband and I had dinner here and it was overall really good. I had the Arepa with Soup ($15) and added a second arepa for an additional $9. I got the Pabellon and Reina arepas. The soup of the day was tomato basil. My husband had the fish and chips ($18). I really enjoyed my arepas. The Pabellon was layered with shredded beef and feta cheese on top (the open end), and black beans and plantains on the bottom (the closed end). The Reina had the filling uniformly distributed - pieces of lean chicken breast mixed with avocado and cilantro crema. The corn meal arepa shell was crispy on the outside and held the fillings very well. I can't even decide which one I liked better because both were so good. I didn't like the tomato basil soup though. It had a cheesy note to it which I found off-putting. However, my husband loved it, so I gave it to him. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. I had a bit of his fish and while it was crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside, it had a strong fishy smell and taste that I didn't like. The fries were crispy and hot but were from frozen. Service was pleasant. The place has a pub feel. They have karaoke on Fridays starting at 8pm. We left before it started, lol. 5 stars for the arepas, 3 stars for the other food I tried, so 4 stars overall since service was good. I would get the arepas again. Street parking is the best bet (some streets have free parking and some streets have paid metered parking which is about $3 an hour). There's indoor hotel parking but it's a daily rate and over $20.
