Just a hole in the wall of a strip mall but oh so good!

Shocking good especially when you find out they are part of a chain. Great smoke on the wings and ribs. Fries done right and quick friendly service

Rib/wing combo with missing wings and ribs(ate a bunch before photo, too tasty)

Big Bone BBQ & Wicked Wings - Kanata is absolutely incredible!! Its been in the plaza at Eagleson/stonehaven for so long, and I was always curious about it. Take my word for it, the smoked ribs and wings are some of the best Ivve had(and I dont like ribs) Other local restaurants have nothing on them for good bbq. These guys deserve a big shout out. I hope they get a bigger restaurant in the future for more customers, I'll be sending more people there for sure

Full rack of ribs and a pound of wings from Party Pack 2 $42.

My husband and I had dinner here with a couple of friends and we all agreed that it was pretty good. My husband and I shared the Party Pack 2, which consisted of a full rack of ribs, a pound of wings, 3 pieces of corn bread, 2 small Solo cups of coleslaw, 2 small Solo cups of baked beans, a heaping mound of fries and some BBQ sauce. All for $42. One of our friends got the Mini Combo ($17.95) which was 3 ribs, half pound of wings, fries, beans, coleslaw and cornbread, and the other got the Big Bone Combo ($25.95) which was a half rack of ribs, a pound of wings, fries, beans, coleslaw and cornbread. We all had leftovers! The the ribs were really good. You could definitely taste the smokey flavour. They were really tender too. For wings you can get smoked or fried and we all got smoked. We got Kansas BBQ as the sauce for our wings. The wings had a really distinct smokey flavour and the sauce (served on the side) was bold in flavour but mild in spiciness. We should have gone for a hotter sauce. Fries were battered and seasoned. They were crispy and surprisingly good for frozen fries. The cornbread I found too dry and was not a fan. I felt the beans were also meh, and the coleslaw was too creamy for my liking. So basically I just liked the ribs, wings and fries, but those were really good. The decor looks like what you'd expect a casual BBQ joint to look like. Service was friendly and timely. You pay at the cash register when you're done. There were lots of takeout orders while we were there. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall in Kanata. Same strip mall as Thai to Go and Scotiabank. Free parking.

Mini Meal! It comes with fries, smoked wings, cornbread, coleslaw & beans

One of the best bbq spots in town! It has a chill environment & friendly staff. They have the Best smoked wings and cornbread in my opinion. The wings & ribs were both moist, tender, with crispy edges and just the perfect amount of sauce. You can also get side of one of their large selection of bbq sauces. The fries were perfectly crispy & the slaw and beans were full of flavour.

$10 for a hamburger bun with shredded cheese??? Unacceptable

Fool me once, shame on you. Never again will I go here. Clean place, but hard no. The app forces you to keep writing so it won't go down as a tip. So I'm just putting in some more characters so people can see this crap and not be fooled.

That's some delicious BBQ..

The best BBQ in Kanata that I've been able to find! Fantastic ribs, amazing wings, delicious pulled pork. Curious about their brisket. Most meals come with a small portion of beans, corn bread and coleslaw. Personally I like The Elvis with an extra corn bread is my go-to meal for 2.. it gives you a nice sample of ribs, wings and pulled pork along with a generous helping of fries (which are godlike) for about $30 taxes in. My only complaint is that they don't deliver across Kanata to Morgan's Grant :( Its about a 15 min drive to and from the place. Still.. worth it once in a while.

Hanging with @privateerx RIB Chicken Wings Pulled Pork. Don't forget poutine and beer.

The Ribs enough said.... Let your taste buds decide. Ordered the Big Bone Combo bring an appetite easily shared. Chicken wings, pulled pork, corn bread, beans and slaw. A+ Service, food and atmosphere. A must eat when here. I will be back

I loved the pulled pork. I actually liked it better without any sauce because then you get that rich smoky flavor!

We had the poutine on Sat March 3rd. We were extremely disappointed by the quality of the food. Literally got my kid and I sick!

Well after being away from Kanata for a dozen years I was looking forward to my visit…read more I sat at the bar and endured the trash old fashion you tired to make. I was polite. And did not complain. I waited for my kids to arrive and sat in a HALF empty restaurant for 30mins. We moved to a bar table and you told us that our wait for food would be over 40mins because of one table. Sure there might have been 20 people but you are HALF empty. Not sure what you would do if you were actually busy. What a waste. Disappointed and I hope others only visit when your parking lot is empty. Do this in my town and you'd be closed in under a week.

Well, last…read morenight we attended a play across the street at the Kanata Theatre, and we were the lucky recipients of a discount at this restaurant, so we decided to cave in and give it a try! We waited at the front for a few minutes before we were greeted by a young Hostess. The restaurant was not packed by any means, but there were a few other patrons, mostly older people. It made me wonder if they were doing what we were doing: grabbing a bite before the show. Our waiter admitted that he was in training as he was new; this is his first week and only his 3rd day. He and another waiter served us for this visit. Oddly, the veteran waiter welcomed us back - and thought we were here recently! Perusing the menu, they offer good specials during the week. We both chose the 1 piece of fish and chips which is normally $15.00 and on special last night for $11.00. and a beer (Keith's I think??! at $5.00 on Wednesdays - a different beer every night.) I found all my food was delicious and would not hesitate to order it again here. I loved the batter on the fish, and the coleslaw was tasty if a bit too much sauce on it. Our service was reasonable, although they were a tiny bit slow bringing the bill. They must be aware of the theatre diners... None the less, I would go back.

Also, it was a late night last night and my body was asking for grease and for nooo cooking by me tonight. No one in line Sunday eve at 630pm. Hmm. Service was fine. I got a 3 piece spicy chicken box with fries. I mentioned I don't want the drink and she subbed a small gravy for it instead. Score. Ultimately though, the gravy was very bland and needed salt, pepper and a squirt of hot sauce. I also got a small onion ring as I was starving and ready to rip into them. They did include napkins and hot sauce packets upon request. I really wanted a Chicken pot pie but reminded myself I'm no longer living in the USA and they don't have those here. What a shame. Perfect comfort food and not a bad choice at all. Food didn't take long. $18. Yeowsers. Grabbed an onion ring from the bag immediately. Cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. Screw it, got things to do. Fries were hot and chicken was fine. Really good actually. Not spicy but... I have a very high heat tolerance. Fresh. But 2 legs and a wing. No breast? Would I come back? Maybe. It's not healthy but fits the bill if you need some good ol' grease. I'll eat healthy tomorrow...

I hadn't been to a Swiss Chalet in over a decade and I have to say that they have really upped…read moretheir game, and for a mega chain family restaurant that I have always associated with a place that teenagers go on dates (maybe because many of my dates as a teenager were at a Swiss Chalet, lol), it delivered much more than I expected. My father-in-law was craving some of their ribs, so I went there with him and my husband recently for dinner. The last time I was at a Swiss Chalet, they pretty much only had rotisserie chicken. They had chicken pot pies and wraps, but I'm pretty sure everything was chicken. Well they now have ribs, rotisserie beef, and even shrimp! They had lots of healthy salads (with trendy kale and chickpeas) too. We started off with some chicken spring rolls ($7.49), and I got the rotisserie beef and garlic shrimp with the kale Caesar salad as my side ($15.49). My father-in-law was originally going to get the ribs, but then decided to get the same entree that I did, except he got regular fries as his side. My husband got the rotisserie beef and half rack of ribs with Parmesan fries as his side ($23.49). The spring rolls came 4 per order. They were actually a lot meatier than I expected. They were filled with mostly shredded chicken, with some onions, red peppers and spices. They were hot and crispy and overall pretty good. My rotisserie beef and garlic shrimp dinner came with 8 medium sized shrimp, a small serving of coleslaw, horseradish sauce, a dinner roll, and some beef in gravy. The kale Caesar salad came on the same plate and I asked for the dressing on the side and it arrived as requested. The salad was a mix of kale and romaine, with real bacon bits, real shaved parmesan cheese, and croutons. Ingredients were fresh and the salad was really tasty, especially since I was able to control the amount of dressing (as I always feel that restaurants overdress their salads for my liking). The shrimp were ok, some were plump and tasty and some were a bit dried and rubbery, at least they weren't overly greasy/oily. The beef tasted a little bit like processed roast beef to me, but I liked that it was mostly lean and not full of fat or gristley bits. It was however, a bit too salty for my liking. Overall though, pretty good for a casual chain restaurant and for the price. I'm usually not a fan of coleslaw, but this one was not overly creamy, so I didn't mind it. I had some of the parmesan fries and some of the regular fries too. Both were good. The parmesan flavour was really mild, and they tasted more like herbed fries. Swiss Chalet fries are not as crispy as I like, but they are still good, and at least not mealy. Our server was friendly and upbeat. She checked up on us appropriately. The air conditioning was blasting that evening. It was about 30 degrees Celsius outside, so I was dressed appropriately for the weather, in a sleeveless mini dress. I was freezing in the restaurant, lol. Other than that though, it was a pleasant dinner. I'm giving this place 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4) for what it is, a casual mega chain family restaurant with reasonable prices and large portions. There's lots of free parking in their parking lot.
