Just a hole in the wall of a strip mall but oh so good!

Shocking good especially when you find out they are part of a chain. Great smoke on the wings and ribs. Fries done right and quick friendly service

Rib/wing combo with missing wings and ribs(ate a bunch before photo, too tasty)

Big Bone BBQ & Wicked Wings - Kanata is absolutely incredible!! Its been in the plaza at Eagleson/stonehaven for so long, and I was always curious about it. Take my word for it, the smoked ribs and wings are some of the best Ivve had(and I dont like ribs) Other local restaurants have nothing on them for good bbq. These guys deserve a big shout out. I hope they get a bigger restaurant in the future for more customers, I'll be sending more people there for sure

Full rack of ribs and a pound of wings from Party Pack 2 $42.

My husband and I had dinner here with a couple of friends and we all agreed that it was pretty good. My husband and I shared the Party Pack 2, which consisted of a full rack of ribs, a pound of wings, 3 pieces of corn bread, 2 small Solo cups of coleslaw, 2 small Solo cups of baked beans, a heaping mound of fries and some BBQ sauce. All for $42. One of our friends got the Mini Combo ($17.95) which was 3 ribs, half pound of wings, fries, beans, coleslaw and cornbread, and the other got the Big Bone Combo ($25.95) which was a half rack of ribs, a pound of wings, fries, beans, coleslaw and cornbread. We all had leftovers! The the ribs were really good. You could definitely taste the smokey flavour. They were really tender too. For wings you can get smoked or fried and we all got smoked. We got Kansas BBQ as the sauce for our wings. The wings had a really distinct smokey flavour and the sauce (served on the side) was bold in flavour but mild in spiciness. We should have gone for a hotter sauce. Fries were battered and seasoned. They were crispy and surprisingly good for frozen fries. The cornbread I found too dry and was not a fan. I felt the beans were also meh, and the coleslaw was too creamy for my liking. So basically I just liked the ribs, wings and fries, but those were really good. The decor looks like what you'd expect a casual BBQ joint to look like. Service was friendly and timely. You pay at the cash register when you're done. There were lots of takeout orders while we were there. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall in Kanata. Same strip mall as Thai to Go and Scotiabank. Free parking.

$10 for a hamburger bun with shredded cheese??? Unacceptable

Fool me once, shame on you. Never again will I go here. Clean place, but hard no. The app forces you to keep writing so it won't go down as a tip. So I'm just putting in some more characters so people can see this crap and not be fooled.

    That's some delicious BBQ..

The best BBQ in Kanata that I've been able to find! Fantastic ribs, amazing wings, delicious pulled pork. Curious about their brisket. Most meals come with a small portion of beans, corn bread and coleslaw. Personally I like The Elvis with an extra corn bread is my go-to meal for 2.. it gives you a nice sample of ribs, wings and pulled pork along with a generous helping of fries (which are godlike) for about $30 taxes in. My only complaint is that they don't deliver across Kanata to Morgan's Grant :( Its about a 15 min drive to and from the place. Still.. worth it once in a while.

Hanging with @privateerx RIB Chicken Wings Pulled Pork. Don't forget poutine and beer.

The Ribs enough said.... Let your taste buds decide. Ordered the Big Bone Combo bring an appetite easily shared. Chicken wings, pulled pork, corn bread, beans and slaw. A+ Service, food and atmosphere. A must eat when here. I will be back

I loved the pulled pork. I actually liked it better without any sauce because then you get that rich smoky flavor!

We had the poutine on Sat March 3rd. We were extremely disappointed by the quality of the food. Literally got my kid and I sick!

I was on my way shopping and my GPS alerted me that there was major congestion up ahead. I was…read morealready starting to feel hungry, so I asked myself, should I sit in traffic all hangry or should I pull into the plaza and get something to eat? I decided on the latter. I had been to all the restaurants in the plaza before except for Chinese Dragon BBQ, so I figured why not check it out. Now I consider myself quite adventurous when it comes to food, but after reviewing the menu at Chinese Dragon BBQ, I have realized that my adventurousness is limited to spices/flavours and methods of cooking, and maybe fruits and vegetables. When it comes to unusual animals or unusual body parts of usual animals, I am much less adventurous. Pig ears, beef aortas, lamb kidneys, and duck heads? I think I'll pass, lol. I ended up ordering a plate of dumplings stuffed with pork, eggs, and chives ($10.99). The dumplings were boiled, and I got 10 of them. I was asked if I wanted soy sauce or black vinegar as dipping sauce, and I went with the vinegar. The dumplings had a good amount of filling in them - ground pork, scrambled eggs and chopped chives. The outside was nice and chewy and not overly thick. They were good, but I have had better dumplings elsewhere. However, it's obvious that dumplings are not the specialty here and it's organ meats on skewers and other such exotic things for which they are known. Service was good. They brought me a whole water pitcher for myself. I drink a lot of water, so I loved this. The restaurant is clean looking and a good size. It's in the same plaza as Food Basics, Nando's, Shoppers Drug Mart and Tutti Frutti. Lots of free parking. This restaurant is not my jam, but if you're looking for Chinese BBQ with items like those I mentioned earlier then this is your place. I have not been to any other restaurant in Ottawa where I have seen these things on the menu. After I left, the traffic had cleared up, so I'm glad I stopped in to get some food. I didn't find it fantastic, but I have no regrets! :)

Chinese Dragon BBQ is located in the same strip mall as Food Basics along Merivale, next to a…read morenoodle shop I'd previously reviewed. They're owned by the same people and often move food between the two shops. Chinese Dragon BBQ is the larger of the two siblings, being able to accommodate not only 4 times the amount of people but also a larger menu, featuring - you guessed it - Chinese (not dragon) BBQ. It also has more traditional Northern Chinese stir-frys and hot pots. Many of the options are spicier than the run-of-the-mill Chinese food (which is more of the Southern Chinese variety) but just as good. We've been twice now, once for the BBQ and the second time for the stir-frys and hot pot. The BBQ items, which come skewered, were a bit pricey, about $3+ per, and salty. Thus the second time, we focused mainly on the other items. We bought the Soft-Shelled Crab Fried Rice and a fish hot pot that didn't have an English name associated with it. They were reasonably priced and tasty. However, all of the food we ordered seem to be very greasy. My favourite was the fried rice. The seasoning was perfect with a good amount of "wok-air" but as soon as it cooled down, you could taste (and see) the amount of oil there. Similarly, a thick layer of oil could be found in the hot pot, which isn't terrible when hot but doesn't make you feel great afterwards. The service is, for the most part, attentive, making sure your water is filled and that you have everything you need. They come to check on you quite often but sometimes, you'll have to put in some effort to flag them down, especially if you're seated in a inconspicuous spot (you choose your own seats if it's not too busy). If you're looking to experience a different kind of Chinese food, it's worth a shot - we'll probably be back too since they carry dishes that few other restaurants have. It may not be the best idea for your health to go often though...
