Delicious food. That cornbread & maple butter was one of the best things my taste buds have experienced. Service was great. They were attentive & efficient.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and got three happy hour apps (fried brie, jalapeno poppers, wings) and two BBQ platters with fried chicken, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, brussel sprouts, chips, mac and cheese and potato salad. We also got a few rounds of drinks. the apps are a good deal during happy hour which is $8 everyday from 5-7pm. We got a piece of plastic in the fried brie so they comped that dish. The jalapeno poppers came hot and we're pretty good, but the wings were a bit dry and overcooked. Now onto the barbecue. Starting with the good: the brisket was tender and smokey, and the fried chicken was fried well though the crust kept falling off the chicken. Recommended sides are the brussels, potato salad and chips. Onto the needs improvement: mac & cheese wasn't very creamy and had a dried out top, the ribs were really tough and kinda bland, and the pulled pork was dry and stringy. overall, lots of misses and the good stuff was good but not really outstanding. The drinks here are really fun and mixed well. Good service and overall, a good spot if you're there to drink and know what to order.

Seoul Food

Went there for brunch so I can't speak on the smokehouse/bbq part of the restaurant. They have unique brunch selections (reflective of the bbq style of restaurant that they are!) Service was great, very attentive staff. They also have a nice, chill & woodsy/bbq-y vibe - we sat at the back which looked like you can rent it out for private parties. The food was very filling and as you can see, portions are huge! Seoul food was the waffles and Korean chicken and I couldn't eat more than one piece of chicken. Seasoning was great: a little spicy, a little sweet. The Lex was also very delicious and the potatoes that come with it are perfectly seasoned. Would definitely go back!

Make a reservation! Comfortable seating and great service. Food was excellent. The bbq sauce was a little spicier than I expected, but the portions were good. Potato salad was tasty, fries were good and the Caesar salad with pork belly are all good. Would definitely go back!

Pulled pork poutine and lex burger

for the Lexington, I definitely prefer the westboro location. The Clarence location has jacked up the prices (fork and knife chicken is 24$ in westboro and 29$ in the market on Clarence). At both locations the food looked great but wasn't everything I had hoped for. The apps - jalapeño poppers and baked Brie were awesome. I give those a 5/5. The mains - so we purchased the lex burger and the chicken sandwich. I was thinking the friend chicken would be superior since it's a smoke house and southern inspired.. I was wrong. The chicken lacked flavour and the sandwich was nothing to write home about. The burger was awesome! I was surprised it was the best part of the meal for me. The pulled pork poutine was really yummy and the fries were great.. The Mac and cheese was pretty lame. It tasted like Annie's from the box and it has hardly any other flavour than 'salty' it even had a Cheeto crumble and green onion on top which was super cute but still didn't do enough...They really need to use a different cheese maybe mix in some Parmesan to actually achieve flavour. It was very creamy but had no flavour to it.. Service - both locations have incredible service and great drink selections. Staff were kind and patient helping us choose our mains. Overall sadly I was disappointed as I went to this southern inspired smoke house for lots of flavour and it just didn't deliver. I want to love this place so I will go back for another chance and try different menu items.

Brisket brunch

We had great service this morning and the food arrived quickly which was good because we were hungry. The waffles and chicken come with bourbon maple syrup which on its own is very strong but on the food it was amazing. The brisket was very good just a bit more fat than I like. They serve gator tots with their brunch items. The menu isn't overly large but food quality was excellent.

Wow. This place is AMAZING! Ensure that you make yourself a reservation because they get packed REALLY fast. It is a super casual place indoors with some super fancy and tasty food. The caesar we had was delicious and spicy and came with a HUGE and very generous portion of fried chicken. We of course ordered their BBQ platter with their steak and fried chicken, with brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. Wowza, I love love love meat, so their steak was amazing (fall off the bone) and the chicken was super succulent. But somehow, my favourite dish was the brussel sprouts - I've never had something so damn tasty. I was really surprised that that was my favourite part! For $31, their platter had more than enough food for both of us. I can't wait to go again!!

Been to Lexington a few times and it was always good. Never memorable but definitely good. Tonight it was better than good - it was great. Happy to see it was busy in there. As busy as it could be, I assume, with all this stupid Covid bullshit. But most every table was full from what I could tell. Mushrooms had a delicious blue cheese tang Brussels were amazing. Wifey and I shared two sandwiches: the chicken which was fried to perfection, amazing sweetness with the honey, perfectly baked biscuit, and spicy creamy slaw. The brisket was also perfectly cooked. Moist and smoky and lovely white sauce on the brioche bun. Bbq sauce on the side was tangy and sharp. The potato salad was creamy and flavourful. The Mac n Cheese needed another sharp cheese in there as it was a tad bland. We had a few cocktails / a Bourbon drink, a grapefruit flavoured one, and a gin martini. All perfect. $110 before tip. I have to say - it was an impressive meal. And you know big Drew doesn't throw around 5 stars all that much. Look forward to coming back again.

Shrimp and Grits with coleslaw and 2 sides (fries and potato salad) $25.

So Lexington just opened up in my 'hood and y'all know how much I love trying out new restaurants, so my husband and I met up with some friends there recently. Overall, we were impressed. Earlier that day I had pigged out on sushi, and was still full, so I was just there for a snack. My husband and others had a meal, and some were just drinking. I got a kombucha ($3.50). Their website said the kombucha was "Asian Pear and Ginger" but what I was given was just regular kombucha (sad face). And I've had my fair share of kombucha, and this one had too much of a stinky feet aroma for my liking (double sad face). I also got the Charred Brussels Sprouts ($5). Fortunately, I loved the Brussels sprouts. They were crispy and a bit vinegary. They came with a rich and creamy smoked bacon aioli. I would order this again. The only hiccup with the Brussels sprouts was that they actually gave my original order away to another table. The server did come and apologize, but I had to wait for them to make another batch. My husband had the Shrimp and Grits ($25) which came with coleslaw and 2 sides (he chose fries and potato salad). I had some fries and they were amazing. They were shoestring fries (my favourite) and really crispy. My husband enjoyed his dish overall, but felt that the grits were too mushy, and that the potatoes in the potato salad could have been cut into smaller pieces. The shrimp were big and tasty though and he also loved the fries. The hubby had a few beers as well and said they had a good selection. I like how they give you a bottle of water (made of glass) at your table. I did find the extremely tiny water glasses bordering on comical. Seriously, they were only slightly larger than a shot glass, haha. Decor is really cool. I love the funky light fixtures and the floating shelves on the walls with knick-knacks on them. Service was good. Lexington takes over the space that used to be Corner Bar and Grill, and Puzzles before that. I love diversity and I love choices, so I'm glad to have this new Southern BBQ restaurant in the neighbourhood.

Excellent barbecue restaurant, their portions are HUGE! And so much variety in terms of sides and meat options. Also had very good cocktails. We've been a few times so far and it never disappoints, we even brought our parents here when they came to town to visit. The mac and cheese and corn bread were delicious, as was the bisket and spicy chicken. Very good service and good vibe of the location inside as well. In the summer they have a nice outdoor patio that we hope to try too!

Waterproof watch cocktail

Overall: Hip spot with great food and service Food: I got the "To Start" which is two meats, two sides, coleslaw and cornbread for $26. I opted for the Ribs and Buttermilk chicken as my meat and fries and Mac & cheese for my sides. For the price this is a significant amount of food and all very good. Everything on the plate I would say was five star except for the Ribs, they were decent but I have had better. My girlfriend got the half-bird with potato salad and mixed veggies. I eat a shitload of chicken and this was the best roasted chicken I have had in a very long time. The potato salad was also the best I have had, could legit eat a big ol bowl of that. Drinks: They had some dope looking cocktails so decided to give one a go. I choose the Waterproof watch. Very good tasting cocktail that was not too sweet, just the way I like it. If you like cocktails where you can actually taste the alcohol def. try anything on the menu from this place Service: I debated giving this place a 4 or 5 stars but after careful consideration I had to go with 5 stars because our server was just so damn good. Forget his name but he was prompt, attentive, and helpful. He made our group feel like a priority without disrupting our good times. Great service here. Ambiance: Super hip for a smokehouse, great place for food and drinks. Place was packed and many people turned away as they had no reservations.

I was SO stoked to finally visit the Moonroom after seven or so years of wanting to go!…read more After a Saturday night at Bluesfest, we waited somewhere else for about half an hour before they told us the kitchen was backed up, so we walked down Preston and I was so glad the Moonroom was still open. We didn't get there until about 12:30am and it was pretty full. We didn't leave until maybe 2:30am and it was still pretty full considering the time. They're not normally open this late, but it seems like a lot of the businesses on Preston decided to stay open later to catch the post-Bluesfest crowd. Good call! We decided to sit inside since there was an empty table, otherwise I would've liked to sit out on their back patio, which looked really pretty with the lights. Inside was a nice vibe though, too. It's small/narrow, dimly lit, with sheets covering the different coloured ceiling lights, and candles on the table. It's very intimate and pretty romantic. We sat close to the bar and there was another party of two beside us. The music was a bit louder so we couldn't really hear the other table's conversations, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. They were playing the Bee Gees when we walked (danced) in, so we were really about the jams. My husband got a rotating draught IPA by Daft Brewing, can't remember which one it was. I got the Jill Collins, which had Tanqueray Gin, Affino Limone, fresh lemon and mint, cane syrup, and a Moon soda top. It was super refreshing, bright, and not too sweet, which is exactly what I wanted. We shared/I mostly ate the "OG Grilled Cheese" and "Panzanella-esque Salad". The grilled cheese had aged Balderson and cream cheeses in a crunchy baguette smothered in toasted garlic butter, served with Moon ketchup. It was exactly as described, with very crunchy, buttery garlic bread and creamy cheese. The Moon ketchup is made in-house, thinner and chunkier than processed, store-bought ketchup, with stronger flavours. It was okay, but I didn't need to dip much in the ketchup because I really enjoyed the sandwich and it was on the saltier side itself. Because it was a lot creamier than gooey, I'd say it was more of a sandwich than a grilled cheese, but still very tasty. I really am not a huge fan of salad in general, but I can't complain when it was burrata on top. It also had salty bread, arugula, roasted tomatoes, fresh peaches, herbs, and honey. The peaches were more firm than ripe and juicy, which was good for a salad, though I wish they were a bit sweeter. The burrata wasn't creamy inside like I expected, but I love cheese in any form. I really don't know what possessed me to get salad, especially after a bunch of drinks in the wee hours of the night, but my body thanked me later. Salty, bitter, a little sweet, fresh, and not heavy, even with (more) bread and cheese. It was great. They unfortunately ran out of the affogato, which probably would've convinced my husband to stay longer. Too bad. The vegan dark chocolate gelato from Farinella that they put in it sounded amazing. The beer was $10.50, my cocktail was $19, grilled cheese $16, and salad $17, which was pricey. BUT, the fresh herbs are from their garden on the back patio, they make their own soda and ketchup (among other things), everything was delicious, and even late at night the cocktails and dishes were still well put together and tasted great, plus I finally came here after so long. No regrets! Our server was super nice, same with owner and one of the bartenders, who even popped over and sat with us for a bit to chat. And not in a weird/creepy/in-your-face way lol she was cool. She was the one who greeted us when we came in and said bye to us on our way out. There's no flash photography (I forgot to turn my auto flash off for my salad, sorry!). They're open all week from 5pm to 2am, no reservations, no large groups, and no phone (just stop by). I wasn't sure if it would meet the high expectations and hype I had built up in my head after waiting so long to visit, but it totally did. It's such a nice spot, we had an amazing time, and we will definitely be back!

Met some local friends at Stolen Goods and wow!…read more I loved every bit of this experience from the super creative drinks to the super cute raccoon theme found throughout! We sat up on the bar so we got a front row seat to all the magic. I was super impressed when the bartenders told us they kind of shoot from the hip for all their drinks in that they don't test it prior! They'll make small adjustments usually for acidity or sweetness but otherwise, you're basically experimenting alongside with them if it's on a recent menu change! My favorite drink of the night was the drink inspired by green curry. First and foremost, I was so confused when it came out clear! But when you took a sniff, you get the fresh scent of basil with some kaffir lime. On first taste, you also pick up some creaminess with the herbaceous notes which really makes it reminiscent of green curry - but it wasn't?! It was confusing, in a good way. My second favorite (of three) was the fruit loops infused drink. It paid homage to childhood Saturday mornings perfectly with the fruit loops whipped topping and the fruity cocktail underneath. It was a fun and lighthearted drink! My third was a drink featuring honeydew. It's such an underrated flavor because it's so hard to find a GOOD honeydew. In similar fashion, this drink also fell a bit short in the floral, sweet honeydew flavor and the cucumber flavor overpowered the drink. Having said that, the cucumber was really refreshing on such a humid day! All in all, loved the concept, loved the experimenting, and really enjoyed the vibes!

We got the King's ransom, Them's the breaks and Petty Theft. King's ransom came in an adorable pig shaped glass and had a fruity yet very smokey flavour. Them's the breaks was also lovely with some familiar fruity strawberry sweetness and a very interesting Merlot pink salt. Last but not least, Petty Theft was our favourite of the night with familiar SE Asian flavours and the nitrogen meringue experience which you pop in your mouth before sipping the drink. This one was $24 since it's a cocktail with a 72 hour process. This is a great spot if you love trying new drinks. The service is friendly, the music is on point and the overall ambience is perfect for a night out. They also take reservations - I recommend the bar seat.

TL;DR/The Short Version: French restaurant serving delicious…read morebut pricey food in tony Westboro. The Long Version: Elise Restaurant is Paris meets Manhattan. The feel of the restaurant is NYC, the cuisine is French. The restaurant opened up December 10, 2024 on the ground floor of the PostHouse Westboro by Azure Apartment Building. My husband and I went there for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We started off with drinks. I had La Passion Mocktail ($9) which was passion fruit, pineapple and lime juices with Elderflower Syrup and my husband had a glass of red wine (Gamay, Beaujolais Villages, Dominique Piron; $13). For my meal, I had the Poisson Grille ($33) which was grilled sea bream with broccolini. My husband had the Elise Burger ($26) which had Gouda cheese and bacon and came with fries. My drink was tasty but was really sweet. I had to water it down to suit my tastes, lol. My husband enjoyed his wine. My meal was not all that photogenic, but it was delicious. The fish was nicely grilled. The skin was nice and crispy and the flesh was tender and flakey. The broccolini and potatoes were great, especially dipped in the persillade. The crispy garlic bits added a nice crunchy texture too. The flavours were excellent. The amount of food on the plate though was very European (read small, lol). My husband enjoyed his burger. It was very saucy though and a bit messy to eat. I had a few of his fries and they were crispy. Of note, they don't offer complimentary bread or anything to start. You can purchase bread and butter for $7 (which we did not do). They have 4 regular single room unisex washrooms and 1 wheelchair accessible single room unisex washroom. Funny story: my husband used the washroom before our dinner. He came back to the table with wet hands saying they didn't have any paper towels in the washrooms. I said he should tell our server, but he didn't and good thing he didn't because when I went to the washroom, I saw the paper towels, they were underneath the sink (there's no cabinet, it's in the open, but not readily visible if you are tall like my husband. I'm short, so I saw them easily, lol). You can see my photo, which I took to show my husband. Haha. So yeah, paper towels are in a dispenser under the sink! Service was courteous. I would describe the decor as casual elegance. What you would expect for poshy Westboro. We had a lovely dinner, but I did find it a bit spendy. Considering I wasn't even full afterwards, lol.
