Let's start with parking. Find It yourself as they do not seem to have any parking. We parked on a side street about a block away Super friendly service when we went in. Lovely place. Screens to watch sports or the Canadian baking show. There was a bar and they definitely try to seat people in a way to maximize their space. The bar seating was comfortable but low backed chairs. The appetizers we got were fantastic. Fried pickles, Brisket tips, and stuffed cheese and brisket balls. All of these were fantastic Then we decided to order some brisket and a side of rice and peas. I expected green peas...they were black eyed peas and It was spicy. Ooops. So I didn't eat It. I just can't handle spicy. The brisket was a bit dry. It was okay. Then we got the smoked cheesecake to go. It was to have a topping and we saw someone get strawberries on theirs. Looked good. But we got to eating It at home It was not smoky flavor and no strawberries. I was a bit dissatisfaction. Oh well. Cute place. Short menu. The only chicken was a jerk chicken/spicy. Cool atmosphere, food presented on cutting boards. I ordered beef brisket with a side of Mac n cheese. Brisket was melt in your mouth and extremely greasy, mac n cheese was lacking flavour - I asked for some bbq sauce which was kind of sweet and I added it into my Mac which gave it some omph. My son ordered a poutine with chicken and pulled pork, it had gravy, bbq sauce, and another sauce - he said it was the best poutine ever. I would probably go back again, if I needed to travel that way as it was 30 min drive away from my house. read more

I had been to their old location. This is their new location which is on St. Joseph. (Be warned that at the time of this review St.J is under construction and you need to detour and park on a side street to get to Le BBQ.) The BBQ is excellent. I had the jalepeno burger, a side sausage and my buddy had Mac & cheese. Everything was great. I even got a pound of BBQ pulled pork ($19) to take home for dinner. They have a full beer, wine and liquor selection now, too. Delicious COVID-19 pandemic takeout. It was lovely to see the restaurant remain open and continue serving the community during the pandemic. We ordered our food a day in advance online. The website was user friendly and made very well! The only downside is that it is only in French and does not have an English option. The food arrived to our home on time and was warm, as to be expected with takeout. Once reheated, everything tasted amazing. I have never tasted ribs with such a deep savoury smoky flavour. Biting into a cheese ball had such a pleasantly complex mix of flavours, the beef and cheese complimented eachother completely. As for the deep fried chicken, the batter was incomparable and fried to a crispy medium brown. This place is truly amazing. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and it was absolutely packed. I ordered "Le Monstre" and spicy fries, and my boyfriend had the spicy jalapeño burger with an order of Mac and Cheese. I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life. And the Mac and Cheese was particularly delicious as well. Everything was just so good!! My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with our experience here tonight. We were leaving Gatineau Park and were looking for poutine since we were on the Quebec side and are new to Ottawa. Yelp suggested we try here and we are so glad we did! I can't believe the size of the large poutine it was ridiculous!! It was only ten dollars we shared it with a chicken sandwich and the bill was only twenty dollars and we were stuffed after. We want to go back again for the poutine and possibly try the burgers next. We like the prices, quality and portions! There is not a changing table for a baby FYI but there was a high chair, no room inside for a stroller and entrance not stroller friendly so carry your baby in if you come with one! read more

Off the start: the food is awesome. The brisket was juicy and tasty, and the sides were equally good. Unfortunately, I can't be that positive about the rest. I noticed a few mistakes with patrons' orders, including my own. The service is also very slow. It took a long time (10+ minutes) just to get my drink, and twice as long to get my food. Of note, I had the brisket, which is obviously already cooked, only needing slicing. Despite this, I enjoyed the place and would certainly return. I'm not one to become a regular since there's never really been a neighbourhood restaurant worthy of it - but I think this might be that place. I've already been twice in two weeks and every single item I've tried has been on point. The BBQ burger is divine (no, it's not Five Guys, but it's a great burger in its own rite), and it comes with a delicious cheese and nice softly done bacon. Fries are solid. Poutine is solid. Mac and cheese is cheesy. Onion rings have the most unique batter and comes with a garlicy cream sauce. The brisket sandwich was the only thing I was a little meh on - wasn't a fan of the pesto tapenade but the brisket itself was great. The menu is short and sweet. Very good fries, good pulled pork sandwich, I must admit I didn't truly enjoy the brisket sandwich though, the meat was a bit dry and the herb mix/tapenade they use didn't feel right, but that's just my personal taste. I cannot really judge the poutine's cheese as I took it to go and by the time I got home it had all melted unfortunately, so I'll try to eat-in the next time I go. The fries were great and the gravy was a perfect balance, it tasted great while still letting you enjoy the fries and cheese. I also wish they had a kids menu; they have sliders variations of a few sandwiches and mac & cheese but nothing specific to the kids (like a mini and basic cheeseburger). No big deal though, the sandwiches aren't so tall that kids can't eat them either. So it's okay for a family, but obviously not their target customer. I'm going back for sure to try more of the items on the menu; it was not cheap, but the food you get isn't either, and I feel it's decent value. read more

So freakin good! We had the brisket sandwich, which was very different from the US brisket we are used to, but was very tasty. It had a more smoked flavor, with lots of greasy goodness. We also had the pulled pork which was also novel and delicious. Instead of a sugary BBQ sauce, it got it's sweetness from the bread and butter pickles on it. Kept passing by this place on my daily bike rides and the smell of the grilling meats enticed me to grab my friend one Sunday eve and check it out. Service is truly friendly and the menu will make you drool if you're really hungry. The jerk chicken sandwich immediately caught my eye so we both ordered that along with their famous onion rings. The rings are great and dipping sauce awesome ... the jerk chick OMFG it was all raw garlic! I tasted almost no jerk spice and knew I was in for a terrible night after eating the sandwich out of shear hunger. Two hours after my friend asked me if I was having cramps and burping garlic - no cramps but I could have cleared a city block with the amount of garlic I was winding.
