It's more of a bar that sells wings than it is A restaurant that sells beer. Rough n rowdy crowd that is marginally well behaved. All the smoking on the front porch is unappealing. They have live music on occasion. I did not care for any of the wings on the varied menu. I felt like they were good for quantity rather than quality. I went at lunch time and ordered 6 wings, Spinach dip, and 16 oz Coors light. I asked my server what she would recommend if I liked hot and sweet and she said the Red Dragon wings were her favorite. The quality of the wings has declined. Went to lunch with friends and was appalled at the quality of the wings! They raised their prices, cut their lunch special and are now serving wings that are so small it's almost embarrassing to call them wings. There's so little meat on the bones, It's the first time I left still hungry! The wings and drumettes are embarrassingly small that the only thing Wild Wings should do is to change the name of the restaurant to Tiny Wings. A once great restaurant with fabulous wings has fallen so far to the bottom that unless they improve the next step would be to close the doors. I heard that Wing Stop and Buffalos have better wings. Our kids split the kids menu pizza which came with a side of fries. Between the two of them, they could not finish it. We also split a wrap sandwich (the Bufferella) that was really disappointing. It was soggy and cold and the fried chicken strips had a bad texture. I would stick with wings and fries. Our service was terrible. I think the waitron didn't want our table because it had kids. While vacationing in Gainesville GA, Janelle and I had the privilege of enjoying a little dinner at the Wild Wing Cafe just a couple of blocks from our hotel. Positioned within a historic 2-story brick building, I knew that we were going to enjoy the evening to the fullest. After all, the name "Wild Wing Cafe" was an accurate description of the fun, food and ambiance we were about to experience inside. Adorned with plank wood floors, brick walls, and TV monitors positioned throughout, this 2-story sports bar is the perfect venue for groups large and small. I noticed a stage that can be used for live entertainment or some good ole' fashioned karaoke--although we were probably too early on a Friday night to participate in those types of festivities. Fortunately, we were just in time for $2.40 Margaritas for Happy Hour. The menu was extensive. There were pages upon pages of various fare from which to choose. It was difficult to narrow down what I wanted, but trusted my instincts to order what I craved the most--wings with the "Slayer" hot sauce. (Supposedly, it was a hot garlic wing sauce that could help Buffy slay those vampires! All-in-all, there had to be more than 25 different wing sauces... Yum!) Janelle had the Queso and Grilled Spicy Chicken in an edible bowl with tortilla chips for dipping. Trust me, the food was incredible and the prices were even better! This is one restaurant that everyone needs to experience. Currently, they are located primarily in Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia. They also have a location in Michigan and one in Jacksonville, Florida. I may not get to north Georgia again for quite some time, but perhaps I can drive two hours to Jacksonville and do it again! I am giving 2 stars based on customer service and business model. The food is good, I've never had anything that was particularly worth complaining about but the service at this location leaves much to be desired. They use to offer a wing bar for lunch that was perfect for anybody on a tight schedule or anyone not wanting to spend half the day. They now offer "all you can wing" in place of the wing bar. Seems legit until you realize it takes 30 minutes for the first order of wings. It's laughable for management to think any working professional on their lunch break would have ample time to take advantage of the "all you can eat" wings. When I have brought this up, they're solution is to order more when the first round comes out. Management seems disconnected from the customer base. I've never had a manager ask about my food or experience, or even seen a manager. I've been to many different wild wing locations around the southeast and this is the most poorly managed by far. Probably heresy, but I've never had the wings at Wild Wings - they just aren't my thing. Primarily a bar, they do have some amazing, fully loaded handmade potato chips slathered in bacon and cheddar cheese with a touch of ranch that are to die for that I like to start with. I also adore burgers and they can make a juicy patty that drips down to your elbows - try the bacon egg and cheeseburger for some heart-stopping deliciousness. There are healthier choices, like salads, wraps and "chicken feathers" - grilled chicken on skewers that I have been told are quite tasty - but why bother with calorie counts when all that bacon and grease are waiting to tempt your palate! That said, their servers aren't the brightest, it can take a while to get served and the place is insanely loud whether you go for lunch or a late night so don't expect to have a conversation.
