Solid establishment. Really good for burgers , or a salad. The steak isn't the best quality, good vibe at the restaurant though

I ordered the Fonz Italian Sausage layered with pastrami (seemed like lunch meat) and melted cheese on top. I think it was provolone. Served on a toasted bun. Filling and satisfying, good flavor. The hot fries was a regular order of fries served with an imbalanced sprinkle sort of dumped on the top layer of fries and not distributed all the way through, which had an extra cost of $2 for the sprinkle of spices, which was an annoying difference in price in my opinion. Solid options for beer and a few ciders. Full bar as well. TVs on the walls only showing sports. You get a table number, order at the counter, pay, and they bring it out to the table number. Casual spot. My immediate thoughts...this place is overpriced. My sausage dog, fries and cider came to $26, plus tax, so about $31 bucks. I repeat, $31 bucks. I honestly felt as though the place was price gauaging. A few other people at my table mentioned the prices and thought they were overpriced. Not much service received, just them bringing the order out. Food was yummy, but I'm not convinced about the value. I have had sausage dogs, hot dogs, fries and beer around the world and I feel this place was overpriced. I like the atmosphere because its a perfect place for casual dining and decent for groups.

The meals were all solid. One suggestion I would make is to clean or refresh the cushions on the benches. They were thin, faded and stained which was unappealing when first sitting.

I made a reservation for 4 at 5 PM through Resy -- for some reason it did not display any reservations for groups larger than 4 -- then called to up it to 5, which the restauranteur was perfectly happy to do. THEN we found out that the music is on the pub side of the business, you can't necessarily hear the jazz from the restautant, that the pub does not take reservations, and that the jazz is popular enough that the pub is often full. So, we went at 4, and on arrival told the maitre d'; that we were in the pub rather than the restaurant. And he was cool with that. The pub was half full when we arrived but by the time the musicians started, it was full, standing room only, We ordered drinks, very modest beer list, and eventually food. I had a shepherd's pie, which was fine. Others were happy with their dishes. The music was OK, really nothing to write home about. Fairly low volume, a drummer, stand-up bass, and electronic keyboard. Audience was enthusiastic, applauding the fairly brief solos. Certainly too soft to be heard in the restaurant. Glad we tried it, but not confident we will be back

We brought our chicken sliders and wings inside and copped a spot on the far end of the restaurant. There were quite a few people already here and it wasn't even 6pm yet. I thought this was a great sports bar and there are not too many like this in the McLean area. We each went thru 3 Coronas a piece, and the chicken that we ordered was mad good. Our server was awesome and always managed to show up at our table whenever we needed something. If you are out this way, I would highly recommend giving this sports bar/ restaurant a tty. Starting from the atmosphere, to the bar, to the table (located at the kitchen entrance, with waiters wizzing by every few mins). We moved to a booth. There were solid seams in the booth that made them very uncomfortable. The brand new table was wiggly, spilling our drinks every time weight was put on them. The servers were fake, and continued to speak in a foreign language in front of the guests, hang out with their friends at another table, instead of focusing on paying customers. The new rolls and butter are cheap alternatives for the old Italian bread with olive oil. No salt, pepper, oil or parmesan cheese on the tables any more. Food was the same, but much more expensive, 80$ for two salads! There is an echo in the dinning area that makes the music annoying, not just background noise. The environment felt sterile & fake. Last, the rest rooms, brand new, yet the doors are already loose on their hinges, and wont close easily. Such a huge disappointment for us, as this place was a regular spot for us for decades. We had been waiting for the new location to open for a while now. We wont be coming back.

I had some mild expectations when arriving at Barrel & Crow which were quickly met and exceeded. Our party of four enjoyed a truly delightful and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, our server--Dan--delivered five-star service. He was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering. His knowledge of the menu and thorough description of the dishes was also notable. Some were his favorites, so he really described them (all) with mucho gusto. It was like we were guests in his home. We basically ended up ordering literally everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot-on. We started with the fried green tomatoes and calamari. Our smorgasbord of entrées included the lamb bolognese (my favorite, though sadly not the one I ordered), a beautifully tender lamb shank, spiced shrimp and grits, and a deeply flavorful andouille and seafood gumbo. Each dish was thoughtful and well prepared, though the shrimp and grits were a bit savorier than I'm accustomed to. Dessert didn't disappoint either. We savored the chocolate torte and also their signature sweet beignets. They were the perfect ending to an already stellar meal.We left behind so many other tempting menu items and looking forward to our next visit.

The service was so so considering the size of the restaurant. There seemed to be plenty of servers but we had to flag them down to order, get coffee refills and get the check. We liked the food. They had an interesting shukshuka that 2 people got and finished every bit. They also got a side of potato "hash" but they were really just diced roasted potatoes. Not worth the $6 price but worked for soaking up the shukshuka gravy. We had one beet salad that was very nice. We ordered the beignets at the end and they were just fair. We would still go back to try other things!
